Had a wonderful experience working with Nino today at the Forest Hills Sacca's location. He listened to my needs and was efficient in selecting a variety of suit designs for my work demands. Although the slightly longer turnaround time for a custom suit (vs. normal off-the-rack suit) was not possible with my schedule at this time, I plan to return in the near future to go the custom route. The sales man was friendly. However, they do the hard sell and would not let me leave. He kept bringing things over. I told him I was fine he kept on saying ' I have something for you' or 'Let me show you this'. There was no prices on most things and he kept on saying that everything was made in Italy I clearly wasn't. Several people walked into the store asked the price then left. I tend to avoid high end men's fashion stores due to how stuffy and "we love the smell of our own farts" they can be. That doesn't happen here. I'm the type of guy who likes a classic look, with a subtle flair. You would think it's easy to do, but I have an eye for the smallest details. I prefer a European type of style, and Via Veneto is honestly a superb spot. They knew my style, they knew what I wanted and was able to encourage me to even try something new. While the prices are higher than genetic stores, the quality is far better, the look is more fashionable, and you ended up looking unique. They changed their name to something else (can't remember). When I called the store, the guy who picked up sounded a bit irritated. I may be thinking too much into it. When I arrived there, the guy I called earlier seemed nice. I asked how much it would cost for my measurements for a suit ($10). It was pretty quick, 5 minutes total. He asked a lot of questions which seemed random at first. Questions such as, if I've been to the store before. If so, who helped me. What the measurement was for. Where I was going to get my suit. The guy was very nice, overall. He was giving me tips about the menswear industry. How it's better to buy a suit rather than renting. How every suit is somewhat similar (same colors, but different brands and materials). After the measuring, he let me try on a suit that fit pretty well. They accept card. They have a fitting room. Nice suits. Most of the suits had affordable prices. read more

We were on the hunt for a nice suit for D to use for business meetings. After a failed attempt in Flushing (as we thought there would be many asian/slim type suits that would exist.... but didn't), we headed to the Mens Wearhouse in Forest Hills where there was a Buy-1-Get-1-For-$100 deal. The selection was good but the lack of "the wow factor" for many styles at prices above $500 was not a deal winner for us. Disappointed, we started walking towards Banana Republic (I know, generic...) along Austin Street. Then, I saw a small European-like store that had "freaking awesome" business/party suits on the display - my MIL was hesitant because it looked like a place that may cost us a month's rent for 1 suit - Oh, were we wrong..! Sherif (the boss) and Carlos (his assistant) was extremely wonderful to work with. Carlos has such a GREAT sense of style - his daily outfits were always trendy - you'd think he should be a host on "What-Not-To-Wear"! Sherif was very accommodating and ensures that his customers leave the store happy. We ended up coming here for 1 suit, but left with more than one. Tailoring was included (until you fit perfectly in it!). Most of the items in store are made in Europe and Egypt. He sells a few designer brands (Dolce Gabana, Versace) and European shoes too. The selection appears to change frequently. I highly recommend this place and most definitely will be a frequent customer. read more

After I left the store all i could say was wow! I was in shock at the service we received. We came in looking for a suit jacket my husband had seen in the store window a while ago and was drooling over. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and treated with respect. It's evident these gentlemen are dedicated and take pride and joy in their work. They are professional yet friendly and down to earth. We had an event the next day and my husband's pants needed tailoring. They had his entire outfit tailored, pressed and ready to go in under 2 hours! Obviously this was last minute and you shouldn't expect people to work magic for you but they went above and beyond our expectations. As an aside, one of the workers asked the tailor if he could fix my broken zipper but the entire zipper had to be replaced and couldn't be done there. His simple kind gesture showed his willingness to go the extra mile. I never once received a call for my suit that was supposed to get tailored, because on the spot they did not have the shirt nor the tie I needed and the jacket and dress pants needed alterations. Was promised a call within a few days when they had everything tailored and had the correct shirt and tie. I never once received a call letting me know it was all thee, tailored and ready. Filed a dispute because I never got a call, nor anything I paid for (suit, shirt, tie) and there rebuttal as there defense was, I left the shop in hand with the shirt, tie, and suit because nothing needed tailoring the same day I was there. Which is a total lie and not the truth of what happened that day. Shady, dishonest owner and workers there. Last time I ever trust my friend to go here. read more

I had a poor experience at Men's Wearhouse down the road and came here. They fixed my pant's seam while I shopped and I was pleased with the work. I brought 3 suits to be tailored there recently. It was not cheap and I expect the work will be good when I get the suits back. However, they have already pushed the pick-up date back twice! It went from 10 to 17 to 21 days; more than double the original time to finish the job. read more

We walked into the store looking to buy one suit... and ended up leaving with three. What made our experience most memorable was the demeanor of which the sales associate Amin treated us. Since the moment we walked in we were given the utmost respect and attention. I should mention that my brother had tried on numerous suits and Amin spent two hours working with us, as well as another hour and a half a few days later. Not only was he patient and respectful, but also he was easygoing and made something we find tedious, more than enjoyable. Left 2 pairs of pants I purchased elsewhere for a simple hem. I was advised they were busy and had a large a lot going on so it would take more time than usual. I was fine with this as I was not in a hurry. I came back two weeks later as instructed. First, they could not locate the pants. It took about 20 mins until they found they folded up in a ball under other clothes. Second, they were hemmed. He advised me the tailor would take care of them right away in about 30 mins. I did not have the time after already spending 20 mins there. I also wanted the tailor to take his time and told him I would return in a day or two. When I returned the pants were finally hemmed. It is clear that the tailor rushed his job and the hem is very noticeable (on both pants). I am sure he does a good job but the simple task of a hem would have been cheaper and quicker at a dry cleaner and possible would have done a better job. Maybe it is because the product was one that I did not buy from them but why advertise that you accept tailor outside clothing? Most likely will not use again. read more

I always saw this store while walking on Austin Street but it never occurred to me to actually go in until this evening. I was undecided between a tie or a wallet. Finally, I decided to go with a lovely bluish/purple tie which I need for a new shirt I just got for Christmas. And to help me was a very lovely man named Carlos. This gentleman looks like he belongs on What Not to Wear. The guy was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and oh yes....gorgeous. He helped me to pick this lovely bluish-purple tie and was quite patient while I tried it on. I now intend to do more shopping there in the future and hope to deal directly with Carlos again!
