I've been receiving care from Dr. Oliver for several years. He's skilled and knowledgeable and clearly cares about his patients. He's also quite personable, regaling his patients with stories, often about the ups and downs of his racing hobby or the garden he's establishing at his new home. Don't get me wrong, though. He's also a good listener and takes the concerns and needs of his patients seriously. I think his gregariousness is a way of setting patients at ease, which can only make for a better adjustment. I wasn't sure about the place at first. I was used to more privacy and quiet. But having the roller tables and the treatment tables in the same room works out fine. I get to hear fun stories I might not otherwise. It's a friendly place where a juice bar wouldn't go amiss. (OK, now I'm being silly.) Stephanie is usually the first person you see when you walk in. Great chiropractor! I went in with a herniated disc found by the office's xray. (urgent care told me it was just a muscle spasm) Dr.Dan was super helpful, knowledgeable and even provided recommendations for vitamins to help with inflammation and support for my collagen/bones! After 2 weeks pain improved and I was able to walk normally! 15 visits and 3ish months later I feel much better and have even started working out again (slowly building back strength). 10/0 would recommend especially if insurance covers chiropractic visits. I had been highly recommended to this chiropractor in the past, but I'm the type of guy who doesn't go to the doctor unless it's an emergency. Well I woke up one morning and my neck was totally locked up and I couldn't turn my head without extreme pain. With 2 sessions and a few days later I am almost 100% back to normal. I called this place thinking they were closed or wouldn't answer due to the holidays but I was wrong. A very nice and professional lady answered and told me she could get me in to see the doctor that evening. I arrived and they greeted me with a smile asked me to fill out some paperwork and said I would be seem shortly. It wasn't even 5 minutes when they said the doctor was ready. He asked me what brought me in and I explained I had lower back issues. He took x-rays, gave me heat treatment and then he gave me an adjustment. He was very polite, friendly and knowledgeable. Started going to Dr. Perry in Jan. 2009. I moved out of the area and back in town again, so stopped by for an adjustment. After going through a dozen Chiropractors in the last 20 years, Dr. Perry is the best. Very effective technique and thorough. I first started going to Sacramento Spinal Specialists when treatment for chronic back pain was not being relieved by a myriad of other doctors/chiropractors. I was a chronic chiro patient for years! With a treatment plan and regular visits, coupled with physical therapy, I'm now very happy to say that I no longer suffer from chronic back pain. I do still occasionally have pain (I'm 64 years old and have 2 degenerated disks), but in general, I'm relatively pain-free after 8 years of suffering, and I no longer have the morning stiffness that used to be a part of my life. I still see Dr. Perry and/or Dr. Tanabe, but on an as-needed or maintenance basis, now. Both have treated me and they are helpful, friendly, and know their stuff! Their office staff is also helpful and friendly and the atmospher is very relaxed. I'm sure happy I found these guys! read more

Dr. Oliver is one of the best chiropractors that I have ever been to other than my own family. The training that he received at Palmer University has made him an incredible dr. I was so impressed when I first met Dr Oliver and the methods he uses to adjust me. I went in with a friend and noticed the pads they use for the stem unit are not changed. I sat there for about an hour and a half saw several people behind put on and taken off the machine. The same pads were used on all of the people I saw in sanitary not to mention the table that people lay on with the rollers was not being wiped down. The two girls in the front spent more time flirting with the guys then doing their work. They looked very young and it showed. They don't even have a place to get water let a lone cups to get it from the bathroom. Dr. Oliver was too busy talking about his race car and his son it seemed like my friends pain didn't matter. This is the worst place to go and the office staff has no clue. I asked before knowing what I know now about my insurance they insisted they were in network when I got home to get a list of in network providers they weren't even on the list. I love this place, and Dr. Oliver is amazing! This is the first chiropractor I felt comfortable with. I called around, and none really felt compassionate and understanding. Dr. Oliver takes the time to listen to you, even if you sound crazy. He is very personable and makes you feel very comfortable, and answers any and all questions that might stem up, and I never feel rushed. On top of all this, his office staff is amazing. !!!!!PLEASE READ TO THE END!!!!! ......I am completely appalled by the way this place does business they are completely shady and try to scam their Patients. Here is why I'm leaving this horrible review which if I could I would give them a zero or negative on the star Rating. So it all started when I called Sacramento spinal specialist to make an emergency appointment my first question was if they were in my network after I told them what insurance carrier I had. They assured me that they were in my network and told me to come in. I came in and asked again if they were in my network and was told again yes they were. After watching some cheesy corny videos and getting a few x-rays the doctor put me on a roller bed with a tinse unit on my back And then sent me on my way leaving me in the same excruciating pain that I was in before I came with no adjustment to my neck or back. So after I left I call around to find another chiropractor that would take me in which I did and I very pleased with even tho I'm driving to Loomis to see I am more then happy with him (Loomis chiropractic) so back to the story a few weeks later I get a bill in the mail for $180. I then called my insurance and was informed that they are out of network this on top of the fact that they charged me $30 for a co-pay rather than the $20 that I'm supposed to be charged was very upsetting. Then I called them to straighten things out and tell them they told me they were in my network they persisted to argue with me and banter back-and-forth on the phone telling me that they would just send me the bill for the 180 and they would be happy to take it and that if they wanted they could charge me $350 for being an out of network visit. Again very upsetting so after calling my insurance back-and-forth they found that their billing had made a mistake on billing my insurance. I have High Mark Blue Sheild insurance which has Blue Shield and Blue Cross insurance.So it turns out that they're out of network for Blue Shield but in network for Blue Cross something that their billing department should have known. They also should have known that I only should have paid $20 co-pay Rather then $30 co-pay. And instead of doing the footwork themselves even after I called them and inform them of their mistake they insisted that I must call my insurance to get proper billing information and give it back to them. I take that as doing their job for them which they know that I will do because I do not want to be stuck with $181 bill. So with the combination of the billing errors and trying to steal my money And the lack of treatment these are all reasons why I'm giving a one star review this place should be shut down for the way they treat their customers and patients hopefully this review helps and you have read this till the end but whatever you decide to do.... do not go in Sacramento spinal specialist they are garbage. read more

I went to these guys a few years ago when I was having some back pain. What they did was bring me in as many times as they could bill my insurance company and made my back problems worse. They told me that I needed to keep coming and the pain would go away. After going about 20 times or so and maxing out on my insurance billing, they said I should be feeling better now, but I was in twice as much pain at that point. I could no longer afford follow-up visits, but my pain eventually went away on its own. I feel that this group really knows how to make money, which is great for them. Best of luck. read more

Worst chiropractic experience ever! I went to Sacramento Spinal Specialists around mid march time frame because I was having a lot of lower back pain. I had done some research on different chiropractors in the area to try to find one that was like my previous chiropractor in Montana who did wonders for me prior to joining the military and moving away. The reason I chose this chiropractor was because their website and my old chiropractors website was the same, but unfortunately their practice is nowhere close. I started off with an appointment on the morning and they said they would get me right in. One hour after I got there the chiropractor finally got to me. The next two visits were similar after I had waited around for more like a half an hour both times. After my third or forth visit, which was the last, he said it should go faster from here on out. By this time I was fed up with him wasting my time. We finally started treatment on the third appointment, which isn't horrible I guess, but on his first adjustment I felt like he almost tore my oblique muscles on my side from his lower back adjustment. Then after my adjustment they hooked me up to these muscle toner/electrodes meant for your abs and put them on my neck, which frankly is weird and uncomfortable. I called the office to request my x rays for a different chiropractor and they said that they could not give me a copy unless they were formally requested by another doctor and then they would have to be returned within a week. Really? Wow, that seems like a violation of the privacy act if you ask me! So I did what they requested. I had my new chiropractor send a formal request to there office only to get no responses from them. My office called them and said that I would either have to come pick them up or pay five dollars to have them mailed to my other chiropractor. So I looked on yelp to see what there hours were. It says that on Thursday, today, they are open from 9am-630pm so I decided to drop by per their request. What do you know, doors locked! I called their number and the Chiropractor answered and I asked him are you open today? He said "Yes, we are open today. Who am I speaking with?" I told him who I was and what I was wanting and he said okay well I'm not in until three today." I said well your website said that you opened at 9 today. He said "huh, well call back at 11 and if no one answers it is because no one is there." To their credit their personal site says they are open from 2-6 on Thursday but yelp doesn't, and he told me he'd be in at three today My recommendation is you go to another chiropractor because if you decide you don't like his practice have fun dealing with their unprofessionalism. read more
