The food is great and you have the option to change it to what ever you want. The CNA's were super helpful and the nurse call button was often quick response time. I put in many appreciation notes to have my nurses and CNA's receive recognition. I was sad to leave to a skilled nursing facility. The social workers who were trying to get me to a skilled nursing facility were aggressive with their tactics though. That put a damper on my healing.

Spent an hour with NP Freed, very comfortable visit, never felt pressured for time or information, just got to know me, what I needed, where I was coming from. Great folks! From the security guard at the front door; to the information people, nurses and everyone involved, they were the most friendly and caring people I think I've ever encountered! They were very reassuring, answered all my questions, assured me there was a doctor in the next room with an injection that would stop an allergic reaction if it started. AND we did not even FEEL the injection. The woman in the observation area kept her eye on me and approached me every few minute to ask me how I was feeling. It was a WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! This was…read moregenuinely one of the most frightening and traumatic healthcare experiences I have ever had, and I am sharing it because I would never want another patient or family to experience what I did. I was brought to this emergency department by ambulance because I was extremely sick and weak. I arrived on a gurney and was brought through the ER, only to then be taken back out to the front waiting area. I was told to get off the gurney and stand in line because there was no room, despite the fact that I was struggling to even stand. Being that sick, arriving by ambulance, and then being expected to stand in line was frightening and made me feel incredibly vulnerable. The entire department appeared severely overwhelmed. While I was there, I witnessed a visibly ill patient lying on the floor near the restroom doors vomiting what appeared to be blood because the restrooms were occupied. I do not know her circumstances or how long she had been there, and I do not want to make assumptions about her medical care. However, witnessing someone in that condition in a public area raised serious concerns for me about patient safety, dignity, and hygiene. I also personally witnessed multiple patients who were in pain become frustrated enough with the wait that they signed releases and left the emergency department to seek care at a nearby urgent care instead. I think it is important to mention that I worked in healthcare for nearly 15 years. I understand that emergency departments become overcrowded, resources can be stretched thin, and patients must be triaged according to medical urgency. I also understand that arriving by ambulance does not automatically mean someone should receive treatment before a more critically ill patient. That is not my complaint. Even with my healthcare background and understanding of how busy emergency departments can become, I have never personally witnessed operations like what I experienced that day. That is what made this so alarming. What concerns me most is the possibility of a patient with a truly time-sensitive medical emergency being overlooked or not addressed appropriately when the department is operating under conditions like these. My concern goes far beyond my own wait or discomfort. I left genuinely fearful about whether seriously ill patients were being adequately assessed, monitored, and cared for. I am not sharing this to be vindictive or to attack individual healthcare workers. I am sharing it because the experience was genuinely frightening, and I believe what I witnessed deserves to be taken seriously. I sincerely hope the hospital reviews these conditions and addresses whatever staffing, capacity, communication, or operational issues contributed to them. No patient seeking emergency medical care should leave feeling the way I did, and I would never want another person or family to go through this experience.

I had to file a credit card dispute. I am also certain they took unnecessary biopsies from healthy tissue to pad their bottom line.

My old doctor retired so I was assigned a new doctor for my annual checkup. I was pleased with the…read morenew doctor. She went over my medical history. But because I mentioned I had a recent issue with a frozen shoulder, I was billed additional service/appointment doubling the cost of my annual checkup. There were no referrals given or anything else related to the shoulder other than mentioning it (like 30 second discussion). I was charged an extra $415 for "Moderate Complexity Medical Decision Making" regarding the frozen shoulder. Yes my insurance paid for it, but I feel Providence is basically running an insurance scam.
