Sorry I was a di** but I walked 4 miles to get a haircut with you because of your quality reviews and was very excited. I arrived at the location but there were no signs telling me where your shop was. I checked the address and realized I was at the right place but there were tinted windows and the doors were locked, so I wasn't sure it was the right place after all. I noticed that you only take cash so I had to hunt for a bank that accepts my debit card. The one next door didn't. I also put my name on the wait list. Well at 11:30 someone let me in your building and I found your shop. I told you I was on the wait list and your site says you take walk-ins but you said you couldn't see me until tomorrow. Of course. TL;DR - GREAT haircut, GREAT conversation, GO here This is the third barbershop I've been to in JAX since I've arrived about 3 years ago, and they (Bryce and Tony) are leading the pack by miles. That's either a testament to how bad the barbers I've been going to are or Sacred Trade Barber is the real deal. I am inclined to believe it's the latter. My haircuts are simple--medium skin fade and a little off the top. It's hard to ruin so at the end of the day it really comes down to price and my personal critique of their technique. The last barber I went to charged me $30 and really dug into my head (so much so that my head was always irritated after). Bryce and Tony charge $20-$25 (depending on what I get done) and they get done what the other guy did with time to spare and my head wasn't red after. The only thing I wish was that I could get a closer shave. The conversation is usually interesting and they offer you a beer if that's your thing. They're really into metal so be prepared to learn a thing or two. One of the last few times I was here, I was given homework to decide whether Dio's Holy Diver or Rainbow in the Dark was better. That decision is still up in the air. As a side note, starting Jan 1, 2020, they will stop taking card and it looks like some the prices might be going up. Perfect. I swooped into town to celebrate Christmas Eve with the family so I decided to get a quick fix. On a whim here on yelp I found this place and easily booked with the only appointment available on Xmas eve with Tony. Tony and Bryce work side by side next to the theatre in Murray Hill and have a great vibration humming inside their clean cut shop. The conversation flowed and Tony fixed me right up without any discrepancies. It was over before I knew it and was so happy with his craftsmanship. The price was unbeatable for the skill. The shop is representative of what I think Murray Hill is becoming. Having my hair done by barbers from Oakland CA to Juneau AK this neighborhood is unique, worth it, and well on its way. Tony has been my only barber since I moved to Jacksonville -- when he's moved shops, I have too, so I'm excited that he has his own shop now. Tony is a great guy, and gives a fantastic haircut. Sacred Trade's location is great, in the heart of Murray Hill, with plenty of parking out front and Vagabond Coffee a couple doors down for some pre/post-haircut caffeine. I generally make an appointment via the website, because I usually can only make it in on a weekday evening or on Saturday when it's busier, but it's very easy. I know Tony takes walk-ins as well, though. Definitely check it out and support a local business! read more

Made the mistake of making an "appointment "here since walk-ins are not allowed. Arrived 22 minutes late as I was stuck in a driving downpour. The barber pointed at his watch to scold me for being late then proceeded to tell me he didn't like my attitude for not calling. In the 30 seconds there I neither had the chance to apologize or really say anything except there is no one here I don't appear to be holding anyone up. Um I'm not having this.I left only to have the co worker, owner whomever chase out after me to bang on my window ( in the aforementioned storm) to also belittle me for being late. These dudes are LEGIT. I brought my three year old in today for his first haircut with Bryce. Long story short, my son acted like a straight up demon and screamed the entire time.
