Purchased our 2015 Ram 1500 Nov 30, 2020. Ticking noise from the motor literally the day after. Contacted Sacto Motors and was referred to my AUL extended warranty. Local Ram dealership pinpointed ticking noise to the bottom block. AUL flat out denied my claim as Pre existing, saying to have this ticking issue with less than 200 miles on the truck since leaving the dealer was rare therefore pre existing. So now I'm stuck with a 30k loan a truck that needs a new engine. Sacto Motors, Carlos specifically is absolutely no help. Always saying let me talk with my AUL rep and I'll get back to you. Sacto Motors has never once apologized or made any effort to make things right. But HEY, my lawyer seems eager to take them to court. I have photocopies of my claim being denied for any interested. Bait and switch! We showed the manager a car we found online, he showed it, we took it for a test drive and got a car fax report. We called back to buy and the manager gave me a price and said it would be detailed and ready. When we arrived with a check we were told there was a mistake. The car we drove was $3,400 more. They would not offer any compensation for the "mistake ". Tried to sell us other more expensive cars. Stay away! read more

Update - Car broke down shortly after the original post. Turned out to be a bad fuel pump. The good (and surprising) news is that the warranty insurance kicked in and paid for most of the repair. (nothing is cheap in the Bay Area) Probably would have covered it all in Alabama. Nobody can see a fuel pump failure coming, so I don't hold Sacto Motors responsible. I was not optimistic that the warranty would cover a fuel pump, but it did. I did not deal with the company directly, (my mechanic did) but apparently it was without hassle. No issue either with having a neighborhood mechanic versus a dealership or someone on their "approved list". If you don't want breakdowns, buy a new car. However, I would recommend that anyone buying a car from any used place have a mechanic look at it prior to buying. Usually only costs 100 bucks or so. I didn't, as I was from out of town and in a hurry, but even so, a mechanic would not have seen a failing fuel pump. Other than that, it has been a great car. Tempted to deduct a star for the breakdown but as I said, wasn't Sacto Motors fault. The warranty saved the day. If you check around, I don't think you will find many used places have that. read more

Since my last post I put an additional 2200 dollars into this car we bought from Sacto Motors a year and a half ago! The serial number on the engine did not match the vin# on the car we were told by our mechanic when we replaced the cracked head. Our 1st oil change the tech. DONT recommend... everything seemed so great until we drove off the lot. It all started with the low tire pressure light coming on. Followed by the radio not stopping when the car was off, keys in hand. We had drove down from Chico arranging childcare for our 1 month old. We thought we had finally found our nice clean family car. Little did we know we'd be still dealing with issues to this day. A week later I called CARLOS and told him the problems we had been experiencing. Also, about the valet key which was advised as having KEYLESS entry which the alarm would go off any time you tried to unlock the car to get in. We set up a time to drive BACK down to have these things "fixed" arranging childcare AGAIN. Had to argue about the key for the keyless entry which they wanted me to pay 250$ in order to have. BS. Came back home which then a week later again the window (which would roll up then back down again) still wasn't working properly. CARLOS can't even communicate with their "mechanic". The owner is NOT friendly. Following this I had to go smog the car (which I'm pretty sure has to be done before you sell ANY vehicle). No I didn't pay but still. We then cleaned the vehicle, we found sticker residue on the light, a fishing hook in the back where my older son almost got his finger and something glued to the rear view mirror. Like I said we THOUGHT this was going to be our NICE, CLEAN, FAMILY CAR! What a joke! Jump forward to today, here we are sitting in the garage having to deal with the window AGAIN! My family and I went to Sacto Motors to buy a decent truck for our family trips. What we ended up getting was ripped off for $16000. My husband was assured that the truck that we purchased was in "great" condition. The truck also came with a 1 year warranty which, along with the word of the sales man, comforted us. We paid for our truck in full and at the time of purchase. We had a 100+ mile trip from the dealer to our home and after driving off the lot and getting about 20 miles from home, the check engine light came on. We figured it was no biggie and took it to a mechanic the next business day. What was found was 7-8 thousand dollars worth of work that needed to be done. The catalytic converters were almost completely clogged. The mechanic said that they were surprised that the truck had passed smog given how bad the cats were. Moreover, the catalytic converters were only available from the dealer for that particular engine. The price of THE ONLY CATS FOR OUR TRUCK WAS $4000 for 2 with installation. We contacted the dealer and they said that wee should bring the truck back to them to have the repair done. We decided against that since they had lied to us about the condition of the engine. Upon some debate, Adam, the man that sold us the truck, stated that he would pay for half of the repairs. I sent him a detailed list of all that needed to be done, but really just wanted half of the money to replace the cats. Adam texted me and said he would have a check in the mail the following week. Big surprise, next week came and there was no check. We called to see what was up and we were given the run around. We still have not been compensated for any thing at all and certainly were NOT EVER given half the money for the repairs. Our $16000 truck, that was out the door with registration and taxes, turned into a $22000 vehicle that still isn't running right. This dealership is just out to make money. We walked in there with our children, as a family, and were taken complete advantage of. Words can't describe how cheated I feel. Don't trust these guys. They are up to no good. read more
