Something that they add new to menu chainaki (dezi) 10/10 must try

I entered the restaurant to a welcoming environment and a kind staff. Came close to closing time and they accommodated me past their closing time. Overall one of the best Persian/middle eastern restaurants in Sacramento. After looking through the menu I was amazed at such competitive pricing considering the portions. Overall I am recommending this restaurant to anyone who will listen

Overall great ! ( food, serving and price ) The meat weren't dry and salty and the hummus was exemplary good, Their serving is big enough for the price. Will highly recommend!

PORTIONS: filling PRICE: appropriate SERVICE: counter style AMBIANCE: clean, but hot (outside temp equivalent) and sticky tables FLAVORS: Lamb shish kabob plate (4/5) Koobideh plate (5/5) BONUS TIP: the rice is already flavorful by itself but the bottom layer of rice that has soaked up the lamb shish juices ....SO GOOD

Bruh! This was the best chicken Souvlaki I've ever tasted. Hands down! Hits: -Large chunks of perfectly marinated and tender chicken. -long grain basmati rice topped with a bit of saffron rice cooked perfectly. -tzatziki's sauce on point, ordered an extra but they already give you so much you can save the extra -two wedges of slightly grilled pita , love the crisp outsides -side greek salad w peppers, cucumber, tomato, kalamata , lettuce and feta.

Their koobideh is probably the best I've had in the Fulton area. Very juicy, very well seasoned. I can assure you that this is a clean business and the staff are really kind and cooperative. They cook the meat thoroughly and are assistive with all of my needs. I usually don't even rate places but I went out of my way for Sactown because they are easily my top option.

Such a nice a place with warm welcome and greeting the food was great, will come back for sure.

Excellent food, made fresh and the beef is juicy. I highly recommend this place, it does not get enough love. They also have lamb and chicken platters that are amazing.

Do they have Barg? I don't see their menu posted here. I'm looking for a Soltani combo. Thanks!

No, they do have beef shish kabob, but no Barg. However, the Kobedeh and chicken kabobs are great and very reasonably priced. i love the Zereshk Polo itself. i think you will enjoy the food greatly. If you want Barg, you can visit the full service…

Is this place better than famous kabob? and are the waitresses hella hot?

As good as and a good value. And, lol, no hot waitresses or table service.

The pita bread was also so fresh and light with the veggies. The service was great! Workers here greeted us with big smiles and continuously check on us. The decor is also beautiful inside with gorgeous paintings and interior designs. Lots of space and room for big parties too. The price wasn't too bad either -- $25 for two delicious entree plates that usually are more expensive at other persian restaurants. You can't beat that!

Kolbeh Kabob serves Persian and Mediterranean cuisine…read more Language barrier issues with our server affected my ability to order what I wanted, led to an upsell, and prevented me from separating or splitting the bill. Server did offer to let us choose 2 different meats for our two #41 Koobideh plates (2 beef skewers for $25), but I think we would have been better off just ordering one #61 All Koobideh plate (3 different meat skewers for $34). One plate has plenty of basmati rice for two people to share. She suggested the two #41 orders, instead of answering how much an extra order of rice would cost. Maybe you can't order a side of rice? Rice comes with each entree. By ordering the 2nd plate, she offered or included the $8 Bread Basket for no extra charge. It was my friend's birthday. I wanted to pay, and she wanted to order extra to go, so I wanted two separate bills, but it seemed too complicated to explain or disallowed. After the food was delivered to the table, server didn't check on us anymore. I guess the restaurant doesn't do anything special for birthdays. My friend thought all the koobideh tasted the same. I liked them in this order: 1) Lamb, 2) Chicken, and 3) Beef, but they're the same texture, so they aren't all that different. I should have ordered a different 2nd entree, instead of two Koobideh plates. The #18 Bademjan Borani eggplant appetizer was yummy. It did come with some bread, so you don't have to order the bread basket. The bread is served warm. The basmati rice was light and fluffy, but not flavorful or buttery. You can pay a $4 upgrade to switch the rice to salad or a fancier stir fried rice. Read the Vegetarian Dishes menu section to learn about the various fried rice or polo preparations. Our server suggested the Fava Bean Rice or Baghali Polo because it is a Persian New Year dish. Yelp reviewers recommended the Zereshk Polo, which includes barberries, a fruit similar to currants. $10 to add a skewer of veggies. $4 to add a salad is mentioned under the Vegetarian Dishes menu and Seafood & Combination Plates menu. I didn't like how the sugar cubes for the Persian Tea were served. It looked communal and exposed to the elements. You could see sugar dust on the serving bowl. Other Persian restaurants serve the sugar in a smaller covered bowl. Formal dining room. Lunch specials are Monday to Friday, 11 am to 3 pm, excluding holidays. Lunch prices range from $16-$20. 3 different $8 soup offerings: chicken barley, ashe reshteh, or green lentil.

This restaurant is a study in old school dining experience. It reminiscent of family owned restaurants with the older generation creating a homey atmospshere. The furniture is comfy and broken in. When you walk in, you feel immediately welcomed by the staff. There is nothing pretentious about this place at all. For an appetizer, we got the Bademjoon- an eggplant dip served with naan. To make it vegan, asked for the kashk on the side. The dip by itself was good, but with the hashk, it took it the whole new level. They also gave us an oil and mint dressing, which was phenomenal. For my main course I chose to have the beef Koobideh with rice, salad and a roasted tomato. I could eat those roasted tomatoes all day long. My friend shared a secret with me- cut roasted tomato, mix it in with the basmati rice and top with sumac. What an amazing combination? Throughout our meal, staff would pass by and see how we were doing. Not intrusive, it didn't feel like a server asking you if you need anything. All in all my meals here have been great. If it was a little bit closer to home, I would probably go more often. Parking is a little touch and go sometimes there's parking and sometimes there isn't. The lot is very small.

So I proceeded to order the combo Beef and Chicken plate and a cup of coffee. The food came out within 10-15 minutes, I wasn't in a rush and it was delicious. The chicken wasn't dry, the beef wasn't dry, and both were seasoned well. The basmati rice and flat bread were the stars for me. As good as the meats were, the rice and bread were better. Both were fluffy and had a real savoriness to it. It was so satisfying. The coffee was strong and dark but not bitter. It was similar to percolating coffee so the flavors were rich, deep and strong. There used to be a young employee who was always polite, welcoming, and consistent with pricing. I ordered a mango cake for a party that cost $57, and I felt it was well worth the price because it was delicious. However, when I ordered the exact same cake just two weeks later, the employee checked with the owner and suddenly the price increased to $75. The inconsistency didn't sit well with me, especially over such a short period of time. After that employee left, I interacted with the owner more often and unfortunately my experiences became increasingly negative. On one visit, my friends and I had purchased food and were enjoying our meal when a wedding party arrived. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the owner sent the cashier to our table and essentially asked us to leave so there would be room for the larger party. We had already paid for our meals (as customers) and were just sitting and enjoying our food, and the experience felt very disrespectful. On another visit, we stopped by with friends for pastries. While overseeing a remodeling project, the owner approached us and asked, "Are you going to be ordering food?" The tone made us feel like we were inconveniencing her simply by being there. The owner has seen us many times but behaves like she doesn't know us. This was especially disappointing considering how much money I had spent there over the years and how many friends and family members I had brought to support the business. The pastries and cakes are still very good, but customer service matters. Unfortunately, the way we were treated repeatedly made us feel unappreciated as loyal customers, and that's why I can no longer recommend the experience.
