    Mezze platter

There are 3 kabob places on this street alone, but this one is by far our return-to favorite. Family-run, they opened in 1984 and my family has been coming here since about that time (though this was my first!). Before Covid they were busting at the seams at all hours, but things have slowed a bit so trying to get more business their way... so let's get to it! Firstly, it was a quiet early Monday afternoon, and we were very warmly greeted and seated. The menu is as you would expect for Mediterranean, with some Greek favorites tossed in (Moussaka for ex.). I wanted to sample all the goodness, so went with the appetizer "Mezze platter" which included a generous amount of hummus, baba g., tzatziki, dolmas, pita, olives, and a new one for me - a larger dolma shaped roll stuffed with rice and ground lamb. SO good. Topped it off with a Turkish coffee served in a lovely brass vessel (briki) that you pour for yourself and it was more than enough for 2 people. The flavor was very unique compared to other coffees from that region that I've tried. Can't wait to go back and try other entrees! Great for groups, couples, or solo. A whole variety of options to choose from... and there's parking out front! GOOOOOO!!!

Amazing!!!! Food and service was excellent! Nice, cozy dining area. We ordered the Mezza for appetizers and it was so delicious. The beef kofte was spiced perfectly. Our waiters were super nice and attentive. Will come here again!!!! Also, make sure you try the garlic sauce. Dip everything in it. Trust me lol

My husband works on Fulton Ave about one day a week. He has started bringing home Kabob House on those days and even my teenager is HOOKED. We have been grabbing the chicken lunch special which comes with grilled chicken breast over rice, and Mediterranean salad. It wouldn't be the same without their house made sauces; tzatziki, garlic sauce and a the last but not least sauce is a dark, rich and tasty sauce which I believe is their house sauce. I also just learned that they do direct delivery with in restaurant prices. I wish I lived closer! Such a good deal!

I've been to this place a few times and I can truly say there food is always so fresh and delicious there so helpful also I did t know what to get and they kept bringing different items out for us to try this place is definitely a place to go if you want Kabob or Gyros

I ordered the food to go; I didn't get a picture of the Chicken Pita, but my husband said it was really tasty. The food was fresh and delicious. The tzatziki sauce was creamy, the Dolomathes were delicious, the hummus was well-made, and the Baba ganoush was well-blended. We enjoyed the warm pita bread. I look forward to going back. They have been around for more than 40 years, and now we know why!

Pita, Baba Ganoush, Small Greek Salad with Garlic Chicken

As soon as you enter the Kabob House, you feel right at home. You are warmly greeted, who I presume to be the owner, and immediately seated. This restaurant was nearly full for Tuesday lunch and it was apparent that it's frequented by regulars. Found this restaurant on Yelp after having a craving for baba ganoush. And they do not disappoint!! Baba ganoush had a nice toasted, smokey flavor. I learned that the owners son recently changed its recipe to include greek yogurt, which gave it a nice tang. It was served with freshly toasted pita bread. Love! Also got a small greek salad with garlic chicken. Fresh veggies, kalamata olives, topped with juicy, charred, garlicky chicken. So yum! I took my left overs home and delightfully ate it again for dinner.

Stopped in Friday night for dinner. We were warmly greeted, seated, and served water. Food was delicious!! Started with warm pita bread, followed by salad. We ordered Garlic Chicken and Moussaka. Lots of flavor and good size portions. For dessert, we had baklava, so delicious and delicate (forgot to take a picture), perfect ending for dinner. The interior is clean and charming.

Wonderful food. Truly a hidden gem with authentic foods and flavors, more so than most kabob houses serving up only gyros etc.

I got the tikka combo which involves skewered lamb and chicken over rice. There's some hummus, a big piece of bread, and a salad involved. Overall, I thought everything could have been more flavorful. While I'm a sauce man, if a place doesn't beg me to ask for sauce or add more, I'm pretty impressed. Further, the lamb was kind of tough. Perhaps, some of the other items could be better. They seem to have some nice baked good options. I guess the $ is competitive, but for $20+ for an entree and soda... Service: order at the register. It took a few minutes before our sandwiches were done. The sandwich was big and a very good value for the price they charge. The problem I had was with the meat as it was very gristly. The beef was marinated well, and came with tomatoes and onions. They were okay. I can't complain much as the price was very reasonable.

The pita bread was also so fresh and light with the veggies. The service was great! Workers here greeted us with big smiles and continuously check on us. The decor is also beautiful inside with gorgeous paintings and interior designs. Lots of space and room for big parties too. The price wasn't too bad either -- $25 for two delicious entree plates that usually are more expensive at other persian restaurants. You can't beat that!

Kolbeh Kabob serves Persian and Mediterranean cuisine…read more Language barrier issues with our server affected my ability to order what I wanted, led to an upsell, and prevented me from separating or splitting the bill. Server did offer to let us choose 2 different meats for our two #41 Koobideh plates (2 beef skewers for $25), but I think we would have been better off just ordering one #61 All Koobideh plate (3 different meat skewers for $34). One plate has plenty of basmati rice for two people to share. She suggested the two #41 orders, instead of answering how much an extra order of rice would cost. Maybe you can't order a side of rice? Rice comes with each entree. By ordering the 2nd plate, she offered or included the $8 Bread Basket for no extra charge. It was my friend's birthday. I wanted to pay, and she wanted to order extra to go, so I wanted two separate bills, but it seemed too complicated to explain or disallowed. After the food was delivered to the table, server didn't check on us anymore. I guess the restaurant doesn't do anything special for birthdays. My friend thought all the koobideh tasted the same. I liked them in this order: 1) Lamb, 2) Chicken, and 3) Beef, but they're the same texture, so they aren't all that different. I should have ordered a different 2nd entree, instead of two Koobideh plates. The #18 Bademjan Borani eggplant appetizer was yummy. It did come with some bread, so you don't have to order the bread basket. The bread is served warm. The basmati rice was light and fluffy, but not flavorful or buttery. You can pay a $4 upgrade to switch the rice to salad or a fancier stir fried rice. Read the Vegetarian Dishes menu section to learn about the various fried rice or polo preparations. Our server suggested the Fava Bean Rice or Baghali Polo because it is a Persian New Year dish. Yelp reviewers recommended the Zereshk Polo, which includes barberries, a fruit similar to currants. $10 to add a skewer of veggies. $4 to add a salad is mentioned under the Vegetarian Dishes menu and Seafood & Combination Plates menu. I didn't like how the sugar cubes for the Persian Tea were served. It looked communal and exposed to the elements. You could see sugar dust on the serving bowl. Other Persian restaurants serve the sugar in a smaller covered bowl. Formal dining room. Lunch specials are Monday to Friday, 11 am to 3 pm, excluding holidays. Lunch prices range from $16-$20. 3 different $8 soup offerings: chicken barley, ashe reshteh, or green lentil.
