Great beer, really nice patio area, yummy snack boxes, and maybe the BEST latte I've ever had! Great little spot for a quick bite or beer when hiking at palo duro.

This was a bread mix we picked up and made once we were home - so yummy!

Cute little store with all kinds of camping needs (well more glamping probably). Really great sandwiches and flight of beers.

Great place. Went to palo duro canyon and stopped here for breakfast and coffee. Love itttt. Highly recommended.

What a fun place! We stopped in here after a day of hiking the canyon. We expected a quick sandwich and drink but got so much more. I enjoyed a wine flight. They had a good number of wines to choose from. Their beer selection was a nice variety to include a great cider. The pizza was nothing fancy but tasty. We got to bring in the new year (early but so fun) with live music, party favors and a champagne toast!

What a cool place !!!!! Such a cool inside AND outside. We stopped on our way in AND out of Palo duro. Nice little selection of rotating craft beers on draft . And a TON of craft breweries cans from ALL OVER available to go. The had quite a few from prairie artisan ales which is always a pleasant sight. We did not try and food , we picked up ice from here twice , a few packs of beer and some delicious monkey lattes !!!! AWESOME place !' And a mini playground area In the back for the kiddos ! Lots of camping supplies and cool gifts and shirts. This is a MUST STOP when visiting Palo duro

Great place to refuel yourself after a hike in Palo Duro canyon. I had the McMonkey breakfast sandwich. It's similar to a McMuffin but 10 times better. They also have some really good coffee. Smooth enough to drink black. I saw they have a great selection of beer on tap too. They also have some really cool Sad Monkey merchandise as well. I ended up buying a couple hats and stickers. They have camping food and supplies if you're camping in the canyon. This place is definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

We absolutely loved Sad Money Mercantile! My dog and I first stopped by for a coffee and a pup cup before heading out to hike Palo Duro Canyon. The staff was so friendly, and the vibes were amazing. When our Jeep wheeling plans got rained out the next day, we decided to go back -- this time for live music and lunch -- and somehow it was even better than the first visit! We got the chance to chat with the owners, hear some of their stories, and once again soak in the great atmosphere. They're super dog-friendly, the food was amazing, and the iced lattes are fantastic. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

A great little stop. My husband got an iced coffee, my daughter got a tshirt, my son got some bubble gum, and my other son got a clean restroom! :) My sons were also jealous that there weren't any souvenir shirts their size. Their freezers were empty so, as RV-ers, their claim to camp supplies and groceries left a little to be desired. Overall it's worth a fun stop with an eclectic drink and food menu, welcoming and clean atmosphere, but maybe not the camp supplies you really might need so close to the canyon.

    Amazing

What an awesome unexpected experience! From the beautiful and majestic Longhorns to the great beer and food. This was the best discovery and the ultimate end to our Amarillo adventure.

Nice store near the entrance to Palo Duro Canyon State Park, just about the time you remember what you forgot. We stopped in twice and got sandwiches for lunch in the park (very tasty), waste bags for our Chihuahua's "droppings", ice cream, a pocketknife and sodas. That's an idea of the eclectic selection. There is a lot of stuff in a fairly small place. Next trip, I will try the coffee and the craft beer. Recommended.

Located on the west side of Amarillo, Pondaseta's black brick building is sharp and modern for an older city like the Yellow City. Inside, there are two large spaces. One is where they brew all of their beers and it also functions as a space for music and guests. The main space is their taproom, where the back wall features a row of taps with all of their in house beers. There was a duo playing music in the other room, and there was a few other groups there. We played a very competitive game of Go Fish and really enjoyed the space there. For my first beer, I ordered the Mind The Gap, which was a bitter in an English pub style. I love a malty beer and it reminded me of some of my favorites. My girlfriend got a Pecan Porter that she really liked. It was dark and roasty. My next beer was their Tea Pilsner, which I never knew was a style of beer. This one was infused with hibiscus tea and I thought it was good. My girlfriend got their cherry lime seltzer. Not for me, but she enjoyed it. I will definitely be back the next time I am in Amarillo based on how great the drinks were. Thank you, Pondaseta. If you are looking for white tablecloths, subtle lighting, or a quiet place to whisper sweet…read morenothings, keep driving past Coyote Bluff Cafe (often locally called the "Coyote Bluu" or simply "The Bluff") in Amarillo, Texas. But if your idea of culinary heaven involves a grease-stained paper liner, an old-school Texas roadhouse vibe, and a burger that requires structural support, you have arrived at the right place. Nestled just a few blocks off Interstate 40 in a historic, diminutive former dance hall moved wholesale from neighboring Claude, Texas, Coyote Bluff is tiny. With only about 12 tables packed into its 1,000 square feet, the atmosphere is alive with a loud, friendly hum, a dirt parking lot, and a vintage bathtub floating full of ice and cold beer bottles. The place is amazing!!!! The unique steaming process is really amazing. You have to try the chili cheese fries to go with it. The menu keeps its focus tight, centering around half-pound patties of lean Texas ground beef cooked to order. While traditional options like the Hickory Burger and the Green Chili Cheese Burger are stellar, the undisputed heavyweight titleholder here is the legendary Burger from Hell. I had to try it, my wife opted for the Chicken Fried Steak. Many approach the "Hell Burger" with great trepidation, expecting it to be more of a gimmick built strictly on painful, mouth-numbing heat. Instead, it offers a beautifully layered flavor profile. The beef patty with Tabasco and their proprietary "Coyote Hell Sauce," then smothers it in gooey melted cheese, grilled onions, and fresh, vibrant sautéed jalapeños. It arrived on a toasted onion bun, it lands a solid 7 out of 10 on the heat scale. But rather than scorching your palate, it wraps it in a vinegary, spicy, deeply savory warmth. This place also serves up classic, heavy-hitting Texas roadhouse appetizers: Each of these are amazing sides and are worth of mentioning, First the Cheese Fries with Green Chiles, which I had with my burger and my wife had with her Chicken fried steak, it is served on a massive aluminum platter, these fresh-cut fries are heavily blanketed in melted cheese and mild green chiles. They are a mandatory companion to the burgers.  Other appetizers worth of note, are the Texas Red Chili & Green Chili Stew: The thick, hearty green chili stew is packed with meat and mild green peppers, offering a wonderful warming comfort, especially during cool Panhandle days.  and any of the Fried options ranging from baskets of battered fried pickles, garlic mushrooms, and stuffed jalapeños. Because everything is cooked to order and the dining room is incredibly compact, expect a wait during lunch rushes or weekends. However, that time spent waiting in the dirt lot among locals and passing road-trippers is part of the charm. Coyote Bluff Cafe doesn't try to be anything other than a spectacular, small-town Texas burger joint, and it executes that identity flawlessly. This is a MUST Stop in Texas

We ordered off of the lunch menu, a ribeye and the bbq ribs & beef. We both had side salads, so fresh. We also ordered a side of fried okra. We spent some time in the gift shop which has lots of cool things to see or get. (We got stickers for the kids, my husband got a magnet, and I got a coffee mug.) After that, there was a baby cow that we could get pictures with for 10 dollars. We did and my daughter kissed the cow . Then we sat on a bench for maybe 10 minutes. Our waitress was very nice I like how she attended to us regularly but not too much, if you know what I mean. Some men walking around playing guitars came to our table and my daughter lit up! My husband gave them some cash and they played you are my sunshine for her and she was dancing and giggling. Best thing we ever did! It's a tad loud because it is a big place and of course people cheering for any contenders who take part in the steak challenge, but we would come again. But it might be best to make a reservation ahead of time.
