I want to express my deep disappointment with the service at Sadaf Restaurant during our dine-in visit on Saturday night. Having previously enjoyed the food here, we decided to bring two of our friends, expecting a pleasant evening. Unfortunately, the experience was nothing short of appalling. We had made a reservation and were initially seated near the window by the host that was welcoming and sweet, which seemed promising. However, the service was completely unacceptable. The waiter assigned to our table Mr. Benn was clearly intoxicated--his behavior was erratic, and the overwhelming scent of marijuana made it obvious that he was under the influence. Matters only got worse when he carelessly spilled our wine and beer directly onto our appetizers( we ordered persian salad , yogurt and eggplant dip), completely ruining them. Rather than taking responsibility or offering a proper resolution, he made us relocate to the worst table in the restaurant--right in front of the entrance, where we had to endure constant foot traffic and cold drafts. To add to the frustration, the server was incredibly rude throughout the ordeal. When we requested to speak with the manager, he dismissively told us that the manager was not available that day. No effort was made to address the situation, no apology was offered, and no compensation was provided. It is truly disappointing to see a restaurant with good food be completely let down by such unprofessional and irresponsible service. Specially if you want to spend +$200 .I feel sorry for the owner, as it is evident that the server is doing a disservice to what could have been a reputable establishment. Needless to say, I will not be returning, and I certainly cannot recommend this place to anyone who values quality service and a respectful dining experience. read more

My wife and I had dinner at Sadaf. We were hoping that the change in ownership had made a change in the food and service. My wife had the Juicy Chicken Kabob and I had the Beef Kabob. We both had half mixed rice and a Sadaf Salad. The food was good but lacked the Middle Eastern spices and aromas we were used to. The food portions were generous and well presented. After our dinner we ordered desert. I had the Baklava and we shared the Persian Ice Cream. Good but nothing special. As a point of reference I had spent a number of years working in Turkey so my taste for Middle Eastern food developed over the years. My wife had visited me on a number of occasions in Turkey and she to mentioned the lack of spice and aroma in the food. I would give the food 3 1/2 to 4 stars. We sat for a good 15 to 20 minutes before we got menus. The service was very slow. It took nearly 30 minutes to get our food after we ordered. I would give the service 2 1/2 to 3 stars. read more

Friendly and attentive staff. Classy ambiance and tasty water with lemon. This is my second time here and wanted to thank them for the generous check-in gift - the hummus and pita bread were perfect! If you want a healthy choice with unique flavors that amaze each bite, come here! We used to love Sadaf and came here all the time with friends -- birthdays, dinners, you name it. But after what happened last week, we're never coming back, ALL LOCATIONS!!! Our server wouldn't stop talking the entire time and started making weird, offensive comments about kosher food and Jewish people. Totally inappropriate and honestly just ruined the night. It's sad because this used to be one of our favorite spots. We're telling our friends too -- no one should feel disrespected like that. read more

This restaurant took over the old Darband Grill location. They have fantastic Persian food, even better than Darband Grill, and staff is friendly too! They offer free delivery(within certain range I'm sure)! Try their Juicy Chicken Kabob! They are known for it. They have their original location in Encino.
