A cute small unassuming store with both indoor and outdoor seating, you just choose a table to sit at. But. Oh my gosh. I think I went to heaven when I bit into the Cajun style orange roughy. I've never had roughy before, only known about it's crazy long life, living over 200 years, but the smoky spicy seasoning was so addicting, and then it wrapped my tongue in a hug with beautifully flakey and sweet fish. But I'm certain this place could take the grossest fish in the world and make it the greatest meal I've ever had. Paired it with a delicious green salad and french fries since it comes with 2 sides. I was so stuffed by the end, if you threw me into the ocean I would probably sink in contentment. Also got the Athenian shrimp pasta, I think I died in heaven and reached second heaven. The world's greatest linguini, perfectly al dente, with deliciously juicy shrimp, tomatoes, feta, and 2 slices of soft buttery bread to soak up the sauce? The sweetest service too. Salad came out first and by the time the salad was done around 10 minutes later, steaming hot food magically appeared. I cannot believe how dead it was when we walked in, this place should have a line all the way to LA at all times. I did stifle a small laugh at the fish tacos. This place was a huge disappointment and I'm not even sure how it has such great reviews. Service was not good, I had to get up and ask them for more water and the guy said we are conducting business and then came and filled up my cup. Then when I placed my order, I like to try things even if I take left overs so I asked for two appetizers and then a dinner plate and he said "two" then he goes and tell the other guy in Spanish how I wanted both appetizers. Now I didn't care that they were making a comment on that, I didn't want to take offense but it was as if I wasn't important enough for them to care that I'm sitting right there while they have a full blown conversation about what I ordered. Now the food sadly was not good. I was expecting some real flavors. The chicken looked delicious but it has no flavor. Absolutely nothing. The hummus was very graining and not at all tasty like others I have had. The tzatziki sauce had too much lemon that it over power the flavor. I've gone to many Mediterranean style restaurants and I know that the hummus and sauces can be made different but this one was not good. The food was the pita bread, that was actually very tasty. The rice and vegetables again no flavor. I'm not sure if maybe this was a bad day for the cook becuase based on the reviews I really thought I was going to get some tasty food. Pacific Fresh is one of the best local spots this side of Thousand Oaks. They are known for their seafood and greek flavors. However, they do offer pasta, chicken, steak and a burger. Everyone wins here. They have been here for decades and are only open 4-8 pm. Same owners too. Out of all the placed I wanted to spend my Birthday here. I am not a seafood eater. I ordered the chicken kabebs cajun style with orzo and a salad. If you are lucky you can get a baked potatoe. But those sell fast. The pita bread is fresh. My parents eat here all the time.
