Firstly- this is a cash only salon in 2026. Secondly- owner should hire better assistants/ wash girls due to one smelling like they were drinking on the job and not knowing basic classism. Assistants do not introduce themselves nor vocalize what they're about to do to your hair, even if it is just to wash and blow dry. I love my natural hair so I would like to know what they're doing, even if it's just a quick wash. Paying for a service over $200, I would prefer being offered a drink or a friendly welcome. No opened windows in shop and assistants talk on the phone while washing your hair and braid your blow dried hair with no care for your natural texture- not even oil or comforting braids are the exact reason why I will not be returning to a cash only salon. Owner should fire whole team. Needs better examples of classy assistants- feels worse than a salon in the actual hood. I don't consider Culver City to be the best area for luxury experiences...So disappointing but I hope establishment won't take this review personal and just decide to start giving the option for Apple Pay, credit or debit for a final form of payment and classier workers. Would not recommend this place it's a beautiful shop but it's more for styling than hair care. Feels like there's no love for the hair from your scalp. Agree with the negative reviews: - natural hair is disregarded - braids are incredibly tight (currently have bumps) - zero communication and you will be waiting 1.5hr+ - got a braid down and the woman used gel, my scalp is currently itchy - the techniques aren't there across the board, I saw several women getting a blow dry from scalp to ends ultimately ripping at the hair, mine was too. - cash only is what I would typically expect for an independent braider or at home stylist Recommendation for shop owner: - Require consultations prior to hairstyle - Hair stylist should relearn proper detangle process - Hair stylist should learn customers have preferences and questions, got frequent attitude - Hair stylist should be in constant communication with customers (your wait time should be X, next I'll braid you down, is there anything I should be aware of, let me know if X hurts or is too tight) - End prices weren't fully disclosed read more

10/10 Tamara is super professional, knowledgeable, such a SWEET SWEET stylist! First off the salon is beautiful and SO CLEAN. I came in to receive a custom wig as I've been dealing with postpartum shedding. She took care of me from beginning to end. She put a treatment on my hair to make it stronger before putting braids in--a service that was offered at NO additional charge, okay!! Braids were so gentle and the style came out perfect. AWFUL SERVICE. Tamara is the owner and today I was supposed to have my hair done with her. I arrived and she was BEGINNING to do someone else's hair. She didn't tell me this, instead she told me to sit down which I did. After 20 minutes passed I asked when my appointment should start and her response was "YOU CAN LEAVE IF YOU WANT". Shocked I said "sorry? I'm just trying to understand the process here" and she goes "oh is this your first time" and I said yes. She then tells me that I agreed to waiting 4-5 hours for a style that says 1hr on their website! When I scheduled the appointment. Still confused I asked what the process is once again and she said I would get my hair washed and then come sit down with her. I then said "ok that's good to know, I'm just wondering if that will start soon because it's been 20m and I nobody has come to wash my hair? Should I be going to them? Im just teying to understand when the service starts because its 20m past schedule" and she laughs and says again "YOU CAN LEAVE IF YOURE UNHAPPY". Fed up at the attitude and continued dismissal of my question, I finally decided to leave. Now I understand the crappy reviews. YUCK and such a disgrace when you tey to support a black business and the service is so tactless. And an FYI she responds to everyone's reviews claiming they are either lying "you didn't wait this long" like she did in a former Google review you can search, or she gives excuses. I really wish I had a better experience at Saddity Hair. I paid $95 for a press and curl and didn't find the experience to be any better than the $50-$75 press and curls that I have paid for at other salons in the past. Upon entering, a woman (who I assume to be an assistant) approached me and said "press and curl"? I said yes and she walked me over to the shampoo bowl. Customer service could have been better, say for example an actual greeting? Hi my name is so and so and I'm going to xyz until so and so shows up? And I could totally be wrong on this but did I smell Garnier Fructis and Silicone Mix? I didn't see anything about the service being "better" (than one I regret having had on Crenshaw) but I guess at $95 you have to pay the rent in Culver City somehow, considering that I've lived around the corner for the past 4 years. Also, no masks - im vaccinated and that's still a hard no for me. The bottom line: upscale prices should equal upscale services, food for thought. read more

I got my hair done here by a stylist that I was trying to work with. Her name is Dree or Adriana. I honestly am so disappointed with my service and the lack of communication the stylist has. I'm honestly considering reporting her and possibly the entire shop to the Board of Cosmetology as I ordered hair from this woman on September 24th to get my hair done October 15th, of course my hair didn't arrive on time so I had to take a compromise and I was ok with that. After taking this compromise, I guess she felt that meant she didn't have to do my hair again although I thought I meant It clear that I still wanted to wait for my tapeins to arrive and that I'd be back to have my hair fixed to the proper style as what I got on the 15th was NOT was I initially booked in the first place. It's now November 25th and I still haven't got my tapeins, and still rocking the same old style that I received October 15th with no maintenance, probably pulling my hair out because I am being ignored and I have been asking for a refund since November 17th. After multiple attempts in November and October to reach the stylist to get my hair fixed or just to please send me my refund. I am so disappointed. You'd think in Los Angeles, if you're going to pay hundreds, almost thousands with a stylist for a versatile hairstyle you'd at least be able to get maintained! But not here at this shop. I can't do much now but spread the word and report it to Board of Cosmetology. I do hope the shop owner sees this and decides to place better hair stylist in their shop. Very unprofessional. I usually would never take the time to put a bad review on anyones business without giving them a chance to redeem themselves, but this by far is the worse hair service I've ever received. read more

The owner Tamara is very unprofessional and couldn't care less about her customers. I ordered 2 packs of hair extensions and less than 2 hours later sent her an email saying that I needed to cancel my order, because I ordered the wrong kind (I needed tape ins but ordered regular tracks) they were expensive so I needed the refund before purchasing the correct ones. After not hearing from her, I opened a claim with PayPal. She then emailed me saying that once I closed the claim, she'd refund me. However PayPal warned me against closing the case before receiving the refund because some sellers may not refund after, and once you close the case, it can't be reopened. So i told her this and that I would close it as soon as I received the refund. I further explained to her what PayPal suggested. She emailed me in the middle of the night saying, "can you call me". Sounds sketchy, right? I emailed her back that I would rather have a documented conversation via email. She then said she doesn't want to refund me and that I'll have to wait for PayPal to make a decision. Of course PayPal refunded me, but I had to wait 10 whole days. What type of business operates this way? Go support a different black owned business!!!!! read more

I got my hair done for my wedding so wanted it to be perfect however it was alot of let downs and major disappointment that lead me to tears and a break down. I obviously have no time to make an appointment with anyone else. It was a very long wait. I saw her take her time with her other 2-3 customers ahead of me but when I got in the chair she rushed my hair. She asked me when was wedding I stated I leave for destination in a few days, she instantly said your hair is not going to last which was discouraging because I have multiple email, phone conversations with her I even walked into the shop to talk to her. She insured me through these conversations that no glue would be used in the wig however when I got in the chair the first thing she did was glue the front, I let that go but she put the wig on wrong one of my ears have to be inside the wig and it's sore and hurting, she must of put the wig on lopsided. The band of the wig is hanging out and poking me, which she could have sewn it inside. She proceeds to curl the hair which it wasn't efficient it was more like a bump at the ends. One side of the closer was not even glued in the front the lace was sticking up. She said a few times it will not last, I didn't understand because of the cost and the multiple conversations why she was stating this. The entire vibe in the shop wasn't very welcoming either. No wash was fast and I don't feel like the shampoo and conditioner was quality, they didn't use anything to oil your scalp. Also I was wondering why didn't she use a cap before applying the wig. After she hurriedly bumped the ends still nothing sewed down to my hair she says ok do you like it, meaning ok I'm done. I had to ask did you sew it? She replies "oh no" so I stay sitting. At this point I'm so frustrated and near tears because she was so meticulous with her clients ahead of me maybe because they were her friends or usual clients. Tam asks me do you want to middle or back sewn, I'm thinking I've had conversations with you stating I want it to be ask secure as possible. So my reply was I would like it to be secure as possible. Tam quickly just puts one thread in the back of my hair and says ok. I paid her which I thought I was paying this price for quality work but none of that matters it was devastating. I also tipped very well. I quickly walked out and called my fiancé and mom and just cried. read more

It's was nice to visit a salon, that respects my time and gives great service. Tamara and her team are laid back but very professional. The atmosphere is nice, inviting and cozy. The suite appears small from the outside but once you're in you never feel crowded and there is more than enough space. I was indecisive about how I want my hair styled.
