My situation was fairly straight forward. I knew that my house had termites. I've been in the attic periodically and this past year, have noticed a dramatic increase in termite droppings on the ceiling joists. In my mind I knew that fumigation would probably be the best solution for my situation. I called Saddleback Termite and Chris came out for an inspection. He was a very nice guy, wore a mask (COVID-19 era), gladly put on booties over his boots before entering my house. His advice aligned with what I was thinking... fumigation. The price quote seemed reasonable. I didn't shop it around, but I did ask a few neighbors what they paid for tenting and Saddleback was less money and my house is bigger. I explained to Saddleback, my biggest concern with tenting is how fragile my roof tiles are. The tiles are very brittle, break easily and the tile company went out of business so I can't get more of them. I am OK with a few broken tiles, I will glue them back together. All I ask is that the guys are careful and try their best to not damage the roof. Saddleback subs out their fumigation to another company, but I was told they've been using the same company for 7+ years. When I returned home after fumigation, I inspected the roof and was very pleased with how careful they were. Hopefully I don't need to do this again for many years. If and when I do, I will give Saddleback Termite a call. read more

After several attempts to find somebody to inspect my house and give me a reasonable estimate (or even show up for that matter), I was about to give up. A realtor friend of mine then recommended SaddleBack Termite Control to me. From the time I picked up the phone to make my appointment, I knew I was in good hands. I was able to get an appointment within a few days and the gentleman who came out and did my inspection (Kevin, who I believe was the owner), was not only on time but extremely knowledgeable and patient with all of my questions. My initial experiences with this company was good -- tenting work was done on time. They stayed in communication when there were delays in the repairs. However, the final service was not positive. They did not hold the tenting company accountable for a piping cap damage on the roof. When the final construction repairs were done, I had to ask the workers twice to come back and repair stucco damage they had done after they had loaded their ladders on their trucks ready to leave. The backyard was not properly cleaned and they tore a section of a cover on the outdoor furniture. Details like this are important, especially for a pretty costly project. read more

Kevin and Rachel are amazing! They are so honest and will provide and offer only what is best for you. I called Kevin and asked for a termite inspection on the house we just purchased. The seller's agent gave us a termite inspection report stating fumigation was completed but in fact they only did localized treatment. Also they stated that the dry rot on the deck was repaired by them but all they did was caulk and paint over it. Not only did Kevin show us the fraudulent report that the termite company provided us, but he walked us through the whole process to make sure the other company did what was right. All at no cost to us! The other company acknowledge the false report that was "accidentally" created and agreed to take care of it all. I am so impressed with this company! We had a termite problem and we could not pinpoint the exact location where they were coming from. And my one stipulation was that we could not deal with tenting our house, too difficult with work, dog, and kids. Kevin came out and was so helpful and made every attempt to locate and locally treat where he thought was the location of the termites. Unfortunately, that did not fix the problem and they got worse (which was not the company's fault). Luckily, a week later I noticed them coming up through our wood floors and Kevin came out asap and treated the area and now they are finally gone. I really appreciate his efforts to quickly come out a second time and treat the area. His company also redid some wood around the perimeter of my house that had water damage. Broke roof tiles while doing termite and rot repair on external wood trim on my house, but kept pointing to their terms - not responsible for roof tiles. Said they had already done me a favor by coming back out the day after the job to replace a tile that they removed to do some of the repair and then did not replace it (how is this a favor?). I discovered the broken tiles a few months later when hanging Christmas lights, and Kevin suggested maybe the Christmas light hanger (me) broke them (I resent this). The two broken tiles are immediately below the window trim they repaired. Kevin had sold me on the idea they had experienced roofers in their crews, but when I let them know about the broken tiles, he said they're not a roofing company. He had also sold me on the idea they would come back out and take care of any problems with their work within a year. I paid up a little for these folks, and they didn't do all that was in the job quote, but I liked their crew and didn't say anything. Anyway - If you break something on a job, then you fix it - period. Weak morals. (edit - I live in Lake Forest, not in San Francisco - not sure why it shows this) (edit 2 - in response to Kevin's response to my review... Here you go again suggesting maybe I broke them hanging my Christmas lights - this is an outrageous accusation and I resent it. I don't stand in that particular spot to hang the lights anyway. You did not do all the work on the quote because some was not necessary (suspected wood rot next to the west gutter was not really rot in one spot) and your crew did not treat all the areas planned because they didn't think it was necessary, but I paid the full quote amount anyway - therefore I paid up and this is my point... I could have asked for a concession on the cost but didn't. You did not come out and inspect the completion. The roof tile was removed by your crew and not put back, and then they came back the next day to put it back, which is no favor or concession as you keep indicating - so there's simply no logic in your argument on this. You and Rachel own the business and make the rules, so pointing to your terms is without merit. I sent the pictures over a month ago when the damage was first discovered, but no response. I waited to contact you again so you could get through the holidays, but you're using that additional time against me. There's no way rain or wind did the damage to these tiles, especially given their location on the roof. If you're not going to fix tiles that your crew breaks, then you have no business getting on roofs in the first place. I can't see how it would be that big of a deal for you to replace the tiles, and perhaps you could've gotten more work out it. You promised to come back out to take care of any problems, but just not the broken roof tiles - weak. I noticed more termite sign under the area that was supposed to be treated but wasn't, and you were booked to come out to take a look, but I suggested to Rachel that we wait because I was not seeing sign again right away. We had this company come out to treat an area for termites in our bathroom and I got a call about a week later from Kevin telling me they accidentally treated just the wall instead of the soil like I had wanted, and that he would correct the error immediately. He most certainly did without a hitch. Initially when I received the call I was floored at the honesty and integrity this company had when they told me what happen. I called about 6 or 7 companies. I got three estimates from 3 different providers - Saddleback Termite Control, Inc. was my last estimate. I chose this company because the reviews were high and uniformly everyone talked about the expertise, reasonable price and work ethics with integrity. Initially I spoke with Rachel who is knowledgeable of the industry and she asked me a question none of the others even bother to ask (Question was: why I was asking for a certain type treatment) and then she provided best options for our purpose. To me that shows they truly want to provide effective service and help people with their pest/termite issues.
