Placed order waited 20-30 minutes. Waitress came and explained kitchen was having trouble getting country fried steak done. Waited another 15 minutes. Our plates with vegetables were sitting out on kitchen whole time. We walked out. Simple country fried steak is kot that difficult. Two other gentlemen came in 10 minutes behind us. Ordered, received food and ate while we were still waiting. Very disappointing. read more

I ordered the sliced brisket sandwich they brought me shredded roast beef with bbq sauce on it. The waitress said oh yeah morning shift shreds it even though they aren't supposed to. Did not offer me an alternative option. Then when I went to the counter to pay she rang it up and asked me to tap without spinning the screen. Second visit first was amazing. read more

We stopped to grab a bite while my hubby plugged our car in my son and I grabbed dinner. It looks super new, clean and service was fabulous and food was even better; cooked to order. Ok for a "truck stop diner" it is above average and unfortunately there isn't a lot to choose from at the Vance exit. The staff is very very friendly and the location is super clean. read more

We had a great breakfast at Sadie's Diner yesterday. I had the bacon egg and cheese biscuit and my wife had two eggs, bacon, and two pancakes. Everything was freshly made. No pre-processed food here. After you eat here, you will never want to go to Cracker Barrel or IHOP again. We highly recommend it. The service was friendly, and also it was very clean. It was a great experience. read more

This place just opened on Wednesday. Very spacious and bright inside. Lots of employees, but only two servers with a trainee. Service was good. Especially since they are all new. We ordered a patty melt with fries and a veggie omelet. Both were over cooked a bit. Nothing spectacular. read more

Close to Mercedes-Benz, nice diner on the side of a Sprint Mart. Very generous meat and three. More food than either of us could eat. Not very busy when we stopped by on a Saturday evening, but probably very busy during shift change. Server was great, took good care of us. The decor was very Mercedes centric with tables made from rims, pictures and posters related to Mercedes. If you're traveling between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, this is a great place to stop and grab a bite. read more

I can't rate the food because we never got to eat, order food or even order a drink. The hostess told us to sit wherever we wanted, found a little 2 top and sat down. I watched the hostess point out to the server our table and the table that was sat before us. The server then went to the first table and took their order and brought them drinks. She then went to the other tables that were sat after us and took multiple orders. I know I was wearing an LSU hat in Bama country but that is no reason to ignore customers. read more

Very clean restaurant and bathrooms! Staff was polite, friendly and fast to serve. You could see in the clean kitchen and prep area. Food was excellent! This Diner was recommended by our hotel in Vance. The diner has been opened for 6 months. We read a couple of negative reviews on it and weren't going to try it but the ladies at the hotel said it was very good so we decided to give it a try and I am glad we did not follow those reviews. It was VERY good! When you enter the diner you are greeted by the bakery counter. We will get to that later. It is a large diner with tables or you can eat at a counter on a stool. The place is immaculate. We were greeted by our server Taylor D. She was so sweet. We ordered the meatloaf, which was a nice healthy serving and it was delicious! Our side dishes were mashed potatoes and gravy (homemade with skins and some nice soft chunks mixed in with brown gravy, they were delicious!), collard greens (which were very tasty), and the BEST fried green tomatoes around. The meal came with a cheese biscuit as well. Even the iced tea would make any southerner happy. Like I said, the young lady who waited on us was Taylor. She was so sweet and attentive to us. We had a couple of nice conversations with her. Be sure to ask for her. After we demolished our meal, we decided we were stuffed but could not resist ordering some dessert to take back to the hotel. It was a difficult choice, but we selected a slice of strawberry cake and coconut cake. Taylor said that her favorite was the original cheesecake but we went with the cake. They were nice sized slices (I forgot to take a picture BEFORE we ate them). The strawberry cake was moist and the icing was just right. Delicious! The coconut cake was the winner in my book. Oh my WORD it was so good. It was so moist and the coconut mixed icing was amazing! It paired very well with coffee. My hubby and I split and shared desserts. Husband's meal was $10.99 with 2 sides and mine was 11.99 because I added a third side. I highly recommend you try Sadie's Diner in Vance. You will not be disappointed. read more

Great servers/staff but portions are very small due to greedy owners/management. six months ago I ordered the same catfish plate and since then they give half the amount of fish they used to and the portions were already small then.do yourself a favor go anywhere else and get more food for cheaper and don't support a greedy business. read more

Today was our 3rd visit to Sadie's Diner. We had their current special "smothered chicken"...it's was WONDERFUL! Chicken was so tender you could cut it with your fork! It was juicy as well! Seasoned perfectly! I had mashed potatoes and coleslaw, mu husband had fried okra and greens- he said " best okra I have ever had!". Our server today was Kimberly, she was great! In the past we've had Brooklyn and she was also great! She came over and spoke to us. We met the cook and told her how wonderful the meal was! Great quality, perfect temperature, and perfect serving size! We will definately make it our regular stop enroute to Birmingham appts! The only negative...the gal in the bakery never has smiled or been pleasant all 3 times we've made purchases there as well...life is too short! And shes too cute not to put a smile on her face!!
