I made a mistake and hope others will not fall into the trap of Edge Pest Control Company. I called them for a one time only application for spiders on the outside of my home. I was told the price for one time service. Technician came out same day and did the job. I signed his paperwork stating he completed the job to my satisfaction. This occurred in July 1018. Since then I have had numerous calls from Edge Reps trying to sell me a yearly service. I stated clearly NO. Calls kept coming thru to a point where I would not answer. Then in October 2018 a Tech from Edge showed up at my door prepared to spray insecticide......no no no ......I told him. He said his paperwork had me on his route. No, I said there must be a mistake. Called the company and was told I am on contract. Who the hell placed me on contract ??? Said they have recording of me accepting the contract. Well I told Him to wipe his ass with it. Now I am receiving phone calls stating I owe $900 for breaking the terms of contract. WOW. I am 65 years old and am mentally disabled, my husband makes all my legal decisions. IF THEY CAN SCAM ME THEN I ADVISE ALL OTHERS OUT THERE TO BE CAREFUL. Their phone reps work on commission basis and will do everything possible to get their share. I had a wasp nest right outside of my back screen door in the corner next to my breaker box. My husband is extremely allergic to stings. So I called The Edge and some with the owner on sitting a time to come out. He quoted me a $99.00 dollar initial fee and I told him that I didn't have it so he cut it down to $79.00 which I said yes to. The tech came out and started a form of service to which I thought would only be that day served. There was no mention of a contract for a certain amount of time and fees etc on cancellation. The spray didn't help on the first time so when they came back to supposedly knock down the nest he sprayed again and it worked this time. My complaint is that they forced a quick contract sale which I requested paper and was told that it would be in an email format. They started calling to set up times for a visit out to spray and I kept telling them it wasn't necessary, at which point the fees were mentioned for cancelation of services. It basically came to me talking ( yelling) at the manager that if they showed up in would call the police and since they wouldn't take NO for services to be done, they sent me a bill of $387.97 to be paid off by January of 2017 or they would send it to collections. We engaged the services of Edge Pest Control after hearing an animal moving around in our attic. I spoke with Josh, supposedly the pest specialist, and explained to him that an animal was in our attic and we needed for it to be removed. He scheduled an inspection at our home, during which time the technician told us it was a squirrel and set a squirrel trap. They came back two days later. At that time we played a video recording of the noise we heard, and he said, "Oh, those are birds." We asked him what could be done to remove them, and he indicated that his company was not allowed to go in the attic, nor were they allowed to relocate birds. He indicated at that time that they would not be able to provide the services we needed, and we should contact another company for removal of the bird family. We located a bird removal specialist, who up on their own inspection during which time they went in to the attic that it was not birds, it was raccoons. They applied a raccoon evacuation fluid, and the animals were gone within 24 hours. At the same time, Edge called us to say they had captured a squirrel (which is not difficult, we live on open space), and charged us $309.99. I spoke with a customer service manager, and told her the whole story. She indicated this is not what should have happened, and she would call us within 90 minutes to resolve the complaint. Having not heard from her 24 hours later, I called again. She indicated she'd reviewed the notes and that they had captured the animal, a squirrel, and thus solved the problem we had hired them to solve. I explained the entire story to her repeatedly, that there was never a squirrel in our attic, that THEIR technician had told us that their company could no longer provide the service we needed, and she only kept repeating that they had caught a squirrel which was the initial complaint. There was NEVER a squirrel in our attic, and an employee of this company told us they could no longer provide services. In addition to the already mentioned issues, when I first called to establish services I was very clear that there was an animal in our attic, and was NOT told that this company did not have the appropriate liability insurance to cover attic inspections. I feel we were mislead from the very beginning, and despite their failure to accurately diagnose OR solve the problem we hired them to solve, we were charged $309.99, which they refuse to refund. Signed a contract to have them come once a quarter not knowing that they would be very difficult to delay if the rain was pouring cats and dogs or, God forbid, the snow was knee high. The service was consistent but very ineffective. Could not get rid of wasps even when I specifically asked for focus there. When I finally cancelled and agreed to pay early termination fee, they started threatening me to be turned over to collection even before they sent the final bill. Very unprofessional and not very business minded. I highly advise finding a better company for this service! read more

I haven't used this company because the sales person was much too pushy. Strangely enough just before he accosted me at my vehicle in a perfectly new home did I see a scorpion and a roach. I'm used to scorpions because I know its a new home. The roaches I'm not used to seeing. I spoke with the sales person and he said he would come back. He came back two days later. In that two days I didn't see any pest but however after he left low and behold there's another baby roach crawling around my floor. I can't say for sure he was planting insects so that I would see them but it is extremely strange and coincidental that I didn't see them until he came around. read more

I made the mistake of entering into a two year contract with Edge and I'm so disappointed with the service I've received. I've never had more bugs and pests inside my house. I actually had to go buy a can of Raid and spray inside because of the how bad the issue got. If I could give them zero stars I would but I apparently the least I can give is one. To make matters worse the manager, Derek Munoz, has absolutely zero customer service! I've tried calling every number I can find for this company and every time my call gets re-directed to him. I even called their Utah location to see if they'd connect me to their corporate office due to an issue I was having with the Denver location and my call got re-routed to the same, unhelpful manager I spoke with here locally!! It was like Groundhog Day when he picked up the phone again! I'm so disappointed not only with their service but also severe lack of customer service. I'm going to the Better Business Bureau and any other avenue I can to terminate my contract with Edge since they have NOT held up their end of the deal!!! read more

I hired Edge Pest Control in June of last year and signed up for 9 treatments. After four official treatments plus at least that many call back treatments, I still have the same bugs. When I finally canceled in frustration, the top dog in Denver, Zack Tyson, threatened to turn my account over to a collections agency. Now I am receiving robo calls - sometimes more than one in a hour- about my past due account. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and contacted the District Atty Office in Denver. My wife and I are having to make a short-term pause to the agreement due to a move, which Peyton, your sales rep told us we would be able to do for a quarter or 2. Now that we're trying to do that, we've been told that we still need to pay for services or pay a termination fee. They were completely unwilling to find a solution that would allow us to continue service after a 2 quarter pause, which their representative assured would be available! I started with them in July 2015 and everything was fine up until June of this year. Then I was away traveling during June 2016 until late June so I asked that instead of coming on June 7th that they come when I got back because I have learned to not trust the service unless I am there. They came out to spray the outside on June 7th while I was away and said they would schedule the inside and for once I was back. The $99.99 was charged to my account on June 28th even though the inside had not yet been done. I got back and saw that I had spiders and webs all over the outside so obviously the spray job they had done when I was gone was done very poorly. I had to call and complain and they sent some out out on July 6th to come back out and the guy was very nice and sprayed everywhere again. By the beginning of August there were spiders everywhere again inside and out so called again and they sent someone out (yet again) on August 11th to spray everywhere in and out. Apparently Edge decided to move up treatments services so I was charged $99.99 again on August 30th even though I had just been charged on June 28th and they had to retreat twice. Ever since June the treatments do not work. I like the service guys that I have met but whatever Edge uses is an UTTER waste of time and money. It is like a con to make you have to keep bringing them back and then Edge moves up services to get that $99.99 just a little earlier. They should have moved the next service and payment until mid Sept. When I called to complain I got absolutely no help nor resolution. I want nothing more than to be done with this place. I can promise I will not recommend this company which is a shame because they do have exceptionally nice service guys that come to the house. they cannot help that Edge products do not work and forces the customer to continually call to have services repeated. I did not appreciate the attitude I received. Their management is not up to par on dealing with customer issues. I am thoroughly disappointed. I will not ever sign up with them again once contract is up. read more

BEWARE! When I signed up for the service I specifically asked if it could be cancelled at anytime and was told yes. I would have never signed up with them otherwise. They were to come out every 90 days for service and showed up today earlier than the next 90 day service. I figured I would have to pay for today's service but called them to cancel future service. I was told I would have to pay a cancellation fee which is half of the remaining services and would be approximately $400. She said it was disclosed in a contract I signed. I don't remember this ever being part of a contract I signed as I would not have agreed to it!! They say sorry but nothing we can do, you either keep paying for the service until January 2018 or pay the $400 cancellation fee! Make sure to read anything they have you sign because they definitely do not verbally disclose this information. read more

I cancelled their service over 1 year ago & am still getting harassed by them with repeated phone calls- several in the same day by the manager! They did not get rid of our pest problem & I switched to another company, however, they do not take NO for an answer. It is embarrassing for a company to operate this way. read more

Be very very careful using these folks for lawn care, they have you sign a two year agreement for more than double the cost of any of their competitors, I had to have them come back numerous times to retreat, when you finally get tired of that and decide to move on, you are reminded of the fact that you owe 50% of the remaining applications, this must be a large part of their business model, (collecting more than their competitors are getting for doing nothing) in my case I found it was easier to pay the 50% than continue to have the hassle of calling them back all of the time. When you do quit you will immediately get a letter telling you that you owe that money and if not paid immediately they will add 50% legal fees. A great way to treat costumers. read more

I have been with Edge Pest Control for years. The first couple of years I was very highly satisfied with their company and product. With that said, the past year they have really gone down hill. Their product is still fairly good although it seems to take a couple of trips in between regular treatments to rid a problem. I read a couple of their reviews from customers saying that they call ahead of time. They use to with me but now it is sporadic. The other day I called them to come back out to treat for bees for the third time. That is when I found out that it was time for another treatment. I told them that I would not be home until 1:30 and they would not be able to get into the back yard to spray for them until I got there. I told them this 2-3 different times. She said she would put this in the notes for the guy. I came home that day about 1:17-1:20 and there was their treatment door hanger. They arrived there at 11:25 according to what he wrote on the hanger. I was not happy since the primary reason I needed them there were for the bees in the back yard. When I called Edge the CS lady, Bonnie, transferred me to a manager. Bonnie had told him the issue I had and all he did was want to argue and told me the guy was there at 11:25 but since I wasn't there he came back at 1:17. I read the comments on my online receipt and he did come back at 1:17 according to his notes. There was no Edge vehicle in my neighborhood when I came home, so I'm not sure how I could have missed him if he came back at the time he put in the notes. However, it still was not 1:30. The manager is who sealed and the deal with my decision to write this. He said he would listen to the primary call I placed for the bees and call me back. I did not hear back from him that day so I called back the next day but the managers were gone so the CS guy said he would put it in some note to the manager. It's been two days and I haven't heard anything. I was going to give them a 3rd day before writing but this is very poor customer service especially by a manager. So now I have paid for a full treatment when I only got a 1/4 of the treatment (they did treat my small front yard). All I want is #1. for a manager to call me back and #2. give me a refund for not doing the job I needed done and the time/frustration with poorly trained CS managers. They did offer to come back out, but on the day they said they could come was a day that I wouldn't be home and who knows if they would have shown up at the time they were suppose to. read more

Run! Don't waste your time and run away fast! A sleazy salesman promises great service at a low price. We gave them 3 strikes: 1. First moron that showed up for service found evidence of mice/mouse, and laid out snap traps all over our finished basement and garage. Not a great idea for a dog owner, cat owner and a family with an autistic son. 2. Second moron replaced all the snap traps with covered bait boxes. OK, but he forgot to set any of them. We had never seen a mouse. Soon we had every mouse in the neighborhood dining on our buffet and living in our basement. 3. Third person fixed the mouse problem, but when we asked them to take care of the wasp nests that moved in, the response was, management won't let me do anything higher than the 1st story (Afraid that a pole might cause house damage). When called to fire them for incompetence, they claim we owe them a $450 dollar early termination fee. RUN!! read more

I'm saying ditto to everyone else's comments. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! Shady business practices is an understatement. They will trick you into signing a contract even when the sales person tells you that you are just signing for "today's service" and to authorize payment. He zooms in on the ipad and tricks you into signing in boxes where you can't see the language around what you are signing. I even asked "i'm not signing up for any ongoing agreement, correct?". Answer "no". I look at the email a week later and in fact it shows I signed for a 1 yr contract. If you call to cancel, they escalate to a manager. At first the manager has to call you back because they are too busy...(probably answering hundreds of other similar such calls). They of course don't call back, when you do call again and get a manager on the phone he says he is the "corporate account manager" and the highest level to talk to but he can't do anything except go by the agreement and charge a 60% cancellation fee. THEIR WHOLE APPROACH IS A SCAM, beware and close the door on them if they show up!! Oh and the one time spray I thought I was signing up for took less than 10 min on a 4300 sq ft home. read more

Buyer beware of predatory practices. I feel totally scammed. I requested bed bug service from Edge 6 weeks ago. They were the first to call me back in my moment of panic, and the deal seemed legit compared to Orkin or Terminix, and they could come the same day on a Saturday. They told me the cost would be distributed over the course of a year, and that bed bug service includes outdoor spraying for ants, wasps, etc and free retreatments for bed bugs after the first three treatments are done. Yay, right? Well, they didn't mention that I had to be locked into a contract for OUTDOOR service that I don't actually need, and wasn't even informed that I was signing a year-long contract. Oh just go ahead and initial the I-Pad and I'll get started kind of thing. They didn't mention that were keeping my debit card on file to charge whenever they want. They didn't mention that I was being charged for the outdoor service at $109 bucks a pop (that I don't need) at the same time as the bed bug service. The bed bug service itself costs $160.00 and literally consists of a guy coming to your house for 5 minutes and spraying your baseboards, and the beds only if you prop them up. They won't spray mattresses for some reason, which is where many of the bugs have been found. I ask to have the couch sprayed, and they literally just spray the bottom edge and nothing else. The attractant in the spray supposedly does all the work. Then why am I still being bitten at least every other day? Bed bugs hide in cracks and tiny crevices, screw holes, folds of fabric. How is it that just spraying the baseboards is going to do anything? The answer is: it isn't. I just had to throw my son's bed away this weekend, because he continues to be bitten every time he sleeps there. There has never been any inspection of furniture, baseboards, bedding, nothing. Terminix wouldn't even begin treatment until an actual bug was identified. So fast forward to this weekend, my third spraying in 6 weeks. They want to charge me again for outdoor "quarterly" spraying. It has not been a quarter since the last one, it has been six weeks. I ask to opt out because I've already shelled out over $600 for this and now I'm broke, and I'm told they can maybe push it out a week. I call to cancel my service, because frankly I don't think it's a good value, and ALL of the chemicals listed on their report are all available at Home Depot for about $15. This is where I'm told I'm locked in a contract, and if I want to cancel, I have to pay a $200 early cancellation fee, and there's nothing they can do about it, but I can have all the bed bug treatments I want free if I continue to pay for the outdoor service. $200 for what? For not doing work? Nothing you can do about it? Well that's a damned scam if I've ever heard one. The manager tells me they can pull up the recorded conversation if I want to dispute that I was aware of a contract. Nice customer service. I wasn't aware of anything. I was panicking trying to get an infestation of blood sucking bugs in my children's beds under control. Bed bugs are a serious problem people. They are very difficult to get rid of. I was vulnerable when I reached out to them, and they absolutely took advantage of my misfortune. Please just pay the money to get proper service. I wish I had. I can't speak to how they handle other household pests, but the bed bug service is a scam. read more

I wish I could put no stars. I heard about Edge from someone on Nextdoor.com. Ross was very nice explaining it would cost me $125.00 quarterly for them to remove spiders etc. He was very thorough on telling me their process, but never spoke of any contract or agreement. I received an e-mail with an attachment that said "sign agreement" and did not click on it. They were supposed to be here for the initial spray from 4-7pm. At 6:30pm, I thought I would call them. Looked up their number on google and saw all of the yelp reviews about the scam and contract (two year contract!). Called their number and a high pressure/high sales manager came on the line to say that the reason why they have an "agreement" (he refused to call it a contract) was in MY best interest and to keep me covered so they could come out and spray any time in-between applications. I asked him how it was in my benefit that they didn't tell me about the agreement. He didn't have an answer and kept trying to tell me why it was good for ME to have them come out. I ended up hanging up on him after telling him to NOT send out the guy for the first appointment. By the way, it is already dark here so the first appointment would have never happened anyway. Whew! Feel like I just dodged a bullet, but wanted everyone else to know. If you do agree to their "agreement" and decide to cancel, they will charge you 50% of the two year price. Scam! read more

We purchased from a door to door salesman, he was nice and friendly and seemed to be knowledgeable about his job. He did although guarantee a few things that the tech did not do. First thing that was disappointing was their pitch about mice traps, that they were animal proof, set outside the property and staked into the ground. The first day the traps were set up our dogs had the traps in the yard 4 different times. The traps were exact models of ones we've bought off amazon for less than ten dollars. No commercial grade nor animal resistant like the sales rep promised. Also they told us they would clean up all the spider webs from our garage and basement but yet the tech comes by and informs us its on us to clean the webs up and monitor when the spiders are gone. Rep also said they would take the time to treat the spiders egg nests in a different way, that didn't happen, tech spent at least 10 minutes here for placing traps and to supposedly clean webs, wasp and spider nests plus spray inside and outside! Like what the hell did you do?! So we pay you 120 dollars per trip for what? To spray bug spray half ass and their response is "well if you want to look at it that way".. Sorry excuse our home half ass for a "business". Save yourself the time and money, visit lowes or Home Depot and buy some bug spray for 30 bucks don't sign a 2 year contract for what 60 bucks (2years of spray) will buy you. read more

I am 40 years old and have never worked with such a blatantly dishonest company. I understand a company can have a couple rotten apple sales people but when you call the corporate office you generally can speak to a manager that has enough sense to to correct the situation. Not this company. As the many other people that have posted here found out, the employees/managers have a clear direction to defend the deceptive practices no matter what. After I figured out I was lied to by the Edge Pest Control sales person I spoke to the corporate sales manager at headquarters in Utah. He said that he knows all the sales rep and wouldn't say anything deceptive and basically insinuated that I was making it up. Then I get on Yelp an found SO MANY examples of deception just like I experienced! I was SO mad that I didn't check the reviews on Yelp prior to signing their agreement. They are adding and charging for service visits beyond what was discussed. When I said I would not pay for the additional visit I just wanted to stop the service because I was lied to. I asked to do this because I specifically asked the sales person at my house "can I cancel at any time"? He responded yes, you can cancel at any time, no questions asked. He failed to mention how much it would cost to do so. This assurance was the only reason I agreed to the service. If you don't care about wasting over $1,000 and working with an unethical company/people go ahead and sign up. read more

I have never written a negative review about any business until now because of the very unprofessional treatment I experienced with Edge pest control. I had been using edge for mosquitos and we were having a good experience so I decided to try there lawn care service. I was told they would diagnose the needs of my lawn and address those concerns. This was in June that we started the lawn care. My lawn was diagnosed with brown spots, summer fungus, grubs, lawn weeds, necrotic rings, brown spots and dead spots. After two treatments I had more weeds then I ever had and my lawn was not improving. They came back and re serviced the weeds in front. After mowing the back lawn and seeing continuing dry spots I started peeling back some grass to find grubs and ants in my yard. I called on Saturday and a woman answering the phone said they don't treat grubs and that the chemical may irritate the grub but not get rid of them. I told her I need a total lawn care and I would like to cancel. She informed me only a manager could do it and they would call on Monday. I received no call Monday or Tuesday and I called Wednesday and spoke with Chandler the manager. I told him my concerns and he told me that the chemicals are meant to get rid of grubs and that it takes time to work. He insinuated I didn't know about how these chemicals work and that the lawn would improve. I felt like was being sold and that he wasn't listening to what I was requesting. He was so combative and disrespectful I had to get off the phone to review my contract and bills to see what to do next. I retrieved by invoices and went line by line on the chemicals used on my lawn and not one product used was meant for prevention or to kill grubs or fungus. It was also listed in my concerns summary that they were supposed to be treating grubs. I called Chandler back and asked him to point out the product that kills grubs and he did not know. He then said the tech probably hit the wrong buttons and didn't mean to say he treated grubs. Chandler then said he would speak to the branch manager about that mistake. I asked to be let out of my contract. He refused to do so without charging the $180 left on the contract. However, he said that he would credit me the $120 from the last treatment if I would leave my account open and give them another chance. No sane person would stay with a company after being treated so terribly! I certainly did not want them near my lawn after that. I paid the money remaining just to stop the conversation. Unfortunately I am stuck with the other services but it is so bitter to have to continue to do business with a company who treats their customers so poorly. read more

If you like people hard selling you, trying to push your wife into a spontaneous decision, not taking "no" for an answer, calling you a liar (repeatedly, among other words) and wanting to engage in hand to hand combat, then Edge is the pest control company for you. Their sales person, Nick, went to all of these extremes. I can say I've NEVER had an experience like this in all my life and would never do business with a company whose employees behave in this manner. In my opinion these companies will never last because they knowingly allow employees to act this way...especially if they're closing lots of deals. We currently use Terminix and I honestly don't know who has the better product but based on the reviews I read (thank God I did my research before we signed a contract) I was deterred from making the switch. It wasn't until I told this guy "no" that he became disrespectful and took it to a whole new level. I know I'm only one person but if others are having similar situations, then vote with your wallets and don't use this company. I don't care who you use but I would not use them. I hope this helps anyone who has either had a similar experience or might be considering them as their pest control provider. read more

A door to door salesmen for Edge Pest Control disregarded my NO SOLICITATION sign posted next to the door bell. Not to be rude to the kid I heard his sales pitch and based on services and pricing promised I accepted the sale. The salesman advertised a year of service including the initial service for $379.96 which included the initial service ($79.99), a 30 day follow up as part of the first service (FREE), then 3 additional quarterly services ($99.99). To sum up, 4 services (5 visits) for $379.96. Edge Pest Control uses small tablet devices for digital contracts and digital signatures. The tablet interface does not match the contract in layout nor information. The sale is 100% based on the salesman's sales pitch. The company emails a copy of the agreement a few days later, this is the first time the customer actually sees the agreement in its entirety. I contacted Edge Pest Control prior to a quarterly service to inquire about this misrepresentation of sale and all they did was hide behind the contract and completely disregard their salesman's actions. They did not disagree that their salesmen will mislead the customer to get the sale. I requested that they make it right for me but did not nor offer any kind of compromise to satisfy me as a customer. DON'T USE -- STAY AWAY!!!! read more

We signed on with Edge Pest when a sales guy came through our neighborhood. We had seen some bees in a column of our back deck and the salesman looked at it and said "no problem." We agreed on a price and this locked us into a 2 year contract. The service started promptly. The technicians are very friendly people when they come out, but let's be real all I care about is that the bees are gone. That was my understanding from the beginning, no more bees. Last year went fairly well, but we still saw some bees. Obviously no bees during this winter, but when spring came, lookout. We have hundreds of bees as the colony has expanded. I called Edge as they are taking care of the bees which was no problem and suddenly there was a problem. They don't guarantee honey bee service. What?!? Your salesman was here boots on the ground and said they would take care of the bees, which is the only reason we signed on with them in the first place. Fortunately for them the salesman put wasps and bees on the contract and they don't guarantee bees so they are off the hook. They then offered us a complimentary bee service normally a 200 something dollar value. We are two months from that and I have a crazy amount of bees and Edge has decided that the bee service is not going to do anything. Is the bee service a value when it doesn't do anything? Edge Pest is done servicing the bees and I am still in contract with them for the next year. They did offer to stop coming out if I would just pay them the rest of the money they are due.
