First, the products they use are less effective than what you buy yourself on Amazon for a fraction of what they charge. Second, instead of "quarterly" service, the come every 10 weeks, getting an extra service charge per year (5 visits vs 4). I was told upon initial signing that I could cancel any time. This was incorrect! When you sign, it is a one year obligation. Also, the representative will not explain to you the correct amount they charge! I was informed initially that I would get charged $79 a year. This is also a lie. They will charge you $99 every service, which is every quarter, so that is 4x a year, amounting to $400/year. read more

This is a predatory company with misleading business practices. Beware of deceptive business practices and report them to the Colorado attorney general, the Federal Trade Commission, and your local consumer bureaus if you observe what you believe to be a misrepresentation of their services by their salespeople and employees. They will try to have you sign a multi-year contract even if that requires fraudulent misrepresentation of services and then charge you a 50% cancellation fee ($600 fee in our case). After their first visit to our home we were totally unsatisfied with the services provided and asked to cancel any follow up services by the company. We did not need them or want them to come out to the home. At this time, we were told that we had signed a 2-year contract on the first service call. What I had "signed" was an electronic signature box on an iPad which the service technician told me was authorization to perform that day's services, no mention of a 2-year contract to me and no accompanying text that indicated that it was a 2-year contract. Perplexed, I kept calling the corporate office to cancel the misrepresented 2 year contract. This cancellation was continuously denied to us and the service manager "Max" proceeded to pester us by calling us over 15 times over 6 months and being very rude and disrespectful in the process - demanding that we reschedule or pay the cancellation fee. They called us at least 5 times on our wedding day as if we don't have other things to worry about than a pest company. Based on tons of online reviews, it appears that the misrepresentation of a service contract by field technicians is a systemic problem for the company and the company will not waive the cancellation fee they claim you owe, sending you to collections after 120 days. read more

Excellent service! I've been a customer on multiple rental properties and their guarantee is ironclad. There was one property that had a particularly bad infestation. They priced it fairly over the phone and took care of the problem swiftly and with regular follow ups. I would recommend a 6 month plan to the whole year, but all told I am a very happy customer and will hire them for any pest needs going forward. read more

Unfortunately, awful experience with this company. The actual people that come to the house to spray are terrific. The sales team, pretty nasty. I was first clued in when I called 3 weeks after my first spray. The guy who came to my door to sign me up had assured me I could call at any point if I had problems and they'd be out in 24-48 hours during the business week. The sales lady on the phone refused to send someone out, saying they were coming to spray again in a week and I needed to be patient. The real blow came when I found out the original sales guy came to my door had put on my agreement 2 years instead of 1 the one year we had clearly discussed. It's definitely my bad for not spotting it - the timeline visible on the contract only shows through 2017 so it was an easy miss. I had a really minor ant problem and made it clear I didn't need a bunch of sprays, a point which even the supervisor Jordan agreed with. I asked Jordan if I could pause the service and continue in the summer -- so they would still get their business but I and the environment could avoid unnecessary sprays. It's really frustrating that they weren't willing to do anything. Jordan, and the whole sales team, cites how they have my best interests when it comes to controlling my pests, but as previously mentioned, even Jordan admitted I don't need this many services for the minor ant issue. It's so awful that 1, the sales guy was so dishonest, especially when he knew what pests we had, and 2, that the company wouldn't do anything about it. read more

Agree with other comments posted that agreements are misleading and advise as well to stay away from Edge. If you have pest issues, seek elsewhere. Salesman is very friendly, however you end up in agreement that will automatically renew and cannot be cancelled early. Services last mere minutes. Cost is expensive. I see so many bad posts concerning Edge Pest Control that I felt that I needed to express my opinion. I have been using Edge for about two years. Before Edge, I had a finished basement with many spiders and other pests. Now, using Edge with the outdoor barrier they apply around the house, I may see one spider a month. Initially, they also sprayed the basement quarterly, but the treatmant has been so effective that I only have them spray the inside twice a year. So I wrote a review a while back and got a response from someone from the company wanting to look up my account and help resolve the issue. I responded with "Unless you are willing to let us terminate our contract that we didn't even know about then I'm afraid you are wasting your breath as others have already promised to try and help and nothing has been done". Never heard back from that manager that was SO eager to "help". So then I get an email today saying that my post was removed due to privacy issues. Interesting. So I am re-posting my review and taking out the names of the individuals that I spoke with. Good try Edge, you are not going to get away with getting bad reviews removed to make yourself look better. Here is the original post: I wish there was a way to give negative or ZERO stars! This company is a scam. We had what we thought to be a well spoken , knowledgeable salesman come to the door. He told us about their services and we thought the timing couldn't have been better. It was Spring/Summer time and we were dealing with pests galore. We went through the problem areas in and outside the house including (but not limited) to windows we had up high in rooms with vaulted ceilings. The sales rep told us that those windows were no problem and that everything would be sprayed and cleaned up. When the technician came out to spray, we pointed out the windows and he said "oh I cant spray up there on the inside, I have no way of reaching. We use a power sprayer on the exterior but that cant be used indoors". I did agree that a power sprayer was not a good choice for indoor spraying however we thought they would come with ladders or SOMETHING to get rid of the pests up there. So we told him what the salesman told us and he LAUGHED and said "Oh those guys promise the world" and went about his business outside. My husband and I felt extremely cheated and scammed. This was just the beginning of all the troubles we had with them. We called numerous times to have someone come out to re-treat because we still had pest issues. They tell you that that will come out as many times as you want them to free of charge which is true but they don't get the job done. After I called FOUR times to get our last service done, it still wasn't done properly. My husband would take time off of work because he didn't trust them at this point and wanted to be there to SEE what they were doing (and not doing) and they didn't show or bother to call twice. Fast forward... I talk to a "manager" today by the name of _______ and he gives me the whole "we want to makes this right" talk. I tell him that we have already had someone promise to re-service and set up personal calls to let us know they are coming for sure etc and nothing has changed. He then tells me "well if you cancel you will have to pay 50% of your remaining services per your contract". CONTRACT??? What contract? The salesman told us that we can stop service whenever we wanted if we weren't happy. That was just one of many lies. So now we are stuck with this company for another 1.5 YEARS or we can pay $300 to terminate. We are looking into pursuing them on a legal level and have plenty of documentation to have this go in our favor. I'm writing this review in hopes that no one uses this company and goes through not only what we went through but others as well. High pressure sales, doesn't work, spend very little time at house, not understanding of financial issues. Charge way too much

I'd give them five stars for the quality of the work, had the customer service not been so terrible when I had an issue. They have a policy to call and schedule your quarterly service, and the first time, they did, but this time, I found out they were coming 30 minutes beforehand from the tech letting me know he was on his way there. I have dogs who use a dog door to get in and out, so when I have a service scheduled, I close this off so they can't accidentally get let out and don't bother the techs. Can't really do this if I'm already at work and didn't know they were coming until the last minute. When I emailed them to see what we could do to reschedule and see why this happened, they said it was just overlooked on their end and didn't address the rescheduling until a follow up email where I was just told they rescheduled it for Friday (again, without checking to see that it works for me, but whatever). I get that mistakes happen, but the emails with them to try and address it, particularly the last one, were so rude, that I can't imagine I'd do business with them again once my contract is up. read more

Edge Pest Control is a great company with a fabulous staff! We recently had a rodent issue and they quickly came out to assist with our issue. They followed up daily until the problem was solved and they clearly communicated with us when they were coming out and what needed to be done. The reviews of high pressure solicitation and deceitful practices is spot on. Had me sign an i pad saying I could cancel anytime. No mention of a binding 2 year contract with huge penalties for early cancellation. I would never have agreed to that as I already had a company i was using and told him so. He told me I could try it for a couple of times so I agreed. Now I have to have 3 more services just to make up for the $350 they are charging me for cancellation. Also read where there have been pet deaths as well. Look at pissed consumer and bbb. Many bad reviews mostly about deceitful practices. Stay away. read more

I had a mite problem last year and was happy with the service that took care of that. I had to agree to a minimum of a year contract and had quarterly service thereafter, which was about 3 more treatments than I probably needed. I had no problem with the technicians and the service was good. After the contract was up I had assumed the service would end. I received an additional automatic service visit and was charged $100 for this unwanted service. I called to contest this charge and was told according to the fine print in the contract I was required to call and terminate the service or it would continue despite the fact that my contract was only for 1 year. This company is very dishonest. My neighborhood has a no-solicitors policy. Edge disregarded this policy and went door to door selling their service. The salesman lied to us and told us that there was an infestation of spiders in our neighbors house. I talked to others in the neighborhood and they were all told the exact same thing. They will try to sell you their service when they point out a few spider webs with eggs. Everyone's house probably has these and you can buy a product from Home Depot or Amazon that will do the job at a fraction of the cost. Don't waste your money on this company's services. I just had my first service for mice in the house (attic/garage). The tech showed up early which was appreciated when the appt timeframe was 4-8 pm. He was very friendly. Only issue with the actual service was that he did not have a ladder, even though i said the main issue was in my attic (not all attics have stairs). So i had to dig my ladder out. I also wanted to change from the 2 year contract i discussed with the sales guy over the phone, to a 1 year. The tech was unable to assist in that, but when I called the office to discuss this, they were very helpful in changing it to my desired 1 year contract. Overall they wanted to make me happy on the billing side so I am giving them 5 stars for that, especially considering the other reviews here that indicate in the past they seemed to be less than open to that. read more

Edge is NOT a real pest control company, as all they want is to take your money and charge your credit card a monthly subscription which is impossible to cancel. They continually asked me how they could "earn my business" after trying to charge me over $200 for a 19 minute inspection, which only consisted of using a flashlight in the corners of my room and under my sink. Even after finding no evidence of mice, they tried to sell me other services I did not want or need. On the phone, they said the first service would be $89, but tried to charge me over $200, claiming that I had agreed to it on the phone. Every time I called, they said they had to listen to the recording and then claimed that I had agreed to the price. When I asked for the recording, they said they had to talk to IT and to this day I still do not have a copy of the recording where they say I agreed to the $204 price instead of the $89 price. In addition, they try to charge a monthly fee that is impossible to cancel, based on other reviews, which I wish I had read before agreeing to their services. Stay away from this fraudulent company which is is a scam and should be shut down! This is NOT the way to do business!!!! They do not care about their customers at all and only care about signing them onto the monthly service, which I am guessing the sales people get some sort of bonus for as they continually tried to use scare tactics saying that my house would be infested with hundreds of mice if I did not use their services. Buyer Beware. I will start by saying the service they provide is adequate. Certainly not outstanding but they do try to provide pest mitigation and control. My issue is with the contract. Door to door salesmen pushing a product with all of the fine print not disclosed. There are no promotional specials. Only endless bills. 0 stars . This service is completely unethical when it comes to holding their word and what is negotiated . I Had the salesperson Devon come and promote something that later on was completely false . Was promoted a $50 2 session treatment and later on i find that the agreement had nothing to do with what the sales person presented . Not only is this unethical but it is illegal and can be considered fraudulent. This is not only terrible for their luring of customers , but also for binding their customers to an agreement in a shady , secretive manner . I also had a friend whose dog got sick and died a week after the first treatment session . So , if you want hidden agreements and fees , and if you want look at other reviews with similar situations . This business is unethical , and it doesn't help that their managers are rude , and lie to your face . I also had one of the managers threaten to trespass my property after I specifically said no , and disregard the verbal warning I left him , only to receive a voicemail later saying that they were going forth with the session . It's all been said - I completed 4 services which is what I thought I had committed to and now they are telling me the first one was a "trial" service and so now I have to have one more service or pay early termination. Great communication, but I don't think the pricing necessarily justifies the 10-15 minutes the techs usually spend at my house each time. The only times we've had a tech actually in our house to spray, I was a bit disappointed with the haphazard way they went about things. They were spraying musical instruments, luggage and an expensive antique brass bed we have stored in the basement, window glass etc. Very sloppy and too quick in my opinion. Admittedly the bug count has gone down but I'm almost positive I could have accomplished the same thing with a few cans of Raid and some lawn bug treatment a couple times a year. read more

Edge provided us terrible service. We had to call just to get them to provide the initial interior service. In two months, we had to call 6 times with zero results. Three days after they allegedly provided a service call, we had 19 wasp nests. Our son was stung three times. Every time I called, they said let us make it up to you and provide another service call. Always promising to send someone more important than the last. We finally called and said no more chances. They admitted that they had not provided the service as promised, but refused to refund our initial payments and then threatened a cancellation fee. Just because you come to a home, doesn't mean you are providing a service. If you do nothing to decrease spider or wasp activity, how can you charge for such services or lack thereof? I called a little freaked out after seeing a mouse in my house. The women I spoke with was nice and compassionate until I told her I wasn't signing up for an exterminator that I hadn't worked with for 5x. I was told that was the only option. I have several reasons not to sign up for that many visits, the first being I am moving. They quickly said they would follow and continue service at my new location. What if I don't need an exterminator at my new location?!! The second reason is I haven't worked with them. How do I know if they are any good? If they are not I have 4 more visits that I am obliged to use that I am paying for regardless. Perhaps they need to assess their policy. If they are really good, they have nothing to lose, they will have return clients They don't need to force people into signing 5x. And truthfully, they could be great, but I found a highly rated exterminator that is willing to work on a time by time basis, guarantees their work and if I need an exterminator once I have relocated, they will be the ones I sign with. read more

I made the mistake of calling these people for information and pricing on solving a mouse problem. I received the information I requested and thanked them kindly. My problem is the follow up phone calls were daily ! and they would leave no message, just let it ring go to voice mail and hang up. Ridiculous way to get business and bordering on harassment. After calling and requesting that my recently widowed mother and I no longer wanted them to call or receive any service from them, them manager told me he would try to stop the calls but couldn't guarantee they would stop.
