This place is a new gem in NE PDX. Great food and service. Glad we came and we'll be back.

Heard a lot about this place but was a little unsure about a TX BBQ-Thai food mashup. I was…read morepleasantly surprised by how good it was. It really worked and highly recommend. So we went in the middle of the afternoon but the line was still pretty long. They were nice enough to let us sit at tables they weren't waiting on while we waited. The restaurant has a jungle vibe, a real Southeast Asian feel. It's fun and lively. The waitstaff are pleasant, albeit not super friendly but maybe that's the vibe they're going for. We got the fried chicken, the wok fried yu choy, smoked pork krapao, white curry with brisket, and red curry with veggies. We also got a bunch of drinks. It's fun to have a place that puts just as much effort into their non alcoholic drinks as their alcoholic drinks. Strongly recommend you try something while you're here. Everything was great but if I had to pick my two favorites, it was the fried chicken and the white curry. I was worried the fried chicken would be too sweet but it's very well balanced. Not overly sweet or sour, very crispy and the meat was tender and juicy. For some reason I thought they would bones in them but they didn't. It was clearly the table favorite as it was gone pretty quick. The white curry was a great example of how this mashup of two cuisines work well together. The white curry is a mellow flavor and almost acts like a thin gravy to the well smoked brisket. I have high standards for brisket and whether this would hold up on its own is a question but it certainly worked well in this context. That's not to say the rest wasn't good. I think I liked the pork more than others but the stronger Thai flavors was not as big of a hit as the rest. That said, the fried egg was perfect and paired with the juicy pork belly that was so tender and rich. The red curry was delicious although the choice of veggies was not my favorite. The yu choy was good, if not a little ordinary. Some may not like the bitterness of the yu choy but I thought it added a little complexity to the flavors. All in all, we loved it here and will definitely come back if in Portland again.

The cocktails were were super refreshing and the food was delicious. Massaman curry was delicious!…read moreThe white curry was fantastic, but massaman was definitely richer and hit the spot. The brisket friend rice was good, but the smokiness was too much for me. Would 100% come back!

5 star food with excellent service - very welcoming and knows how to upsell lol…read more Food Orderd: 1. Fried Chicken Roti Combo - holy fried chicken crispy, combo comes with 1x leg and 1x thigh cut into two pieces. Curry was delicious and balance, excellent when dipped with the crispy roti or fried chicken. Pickled veggies were a great pairing and sweet and sour added another dimension. 2. Pad Thai - glistening noodles served inside an egg omelet. Very solid pad thai - sweet, sour, salty. Don't forget to add the fresh shrimp, these were cooked perfectly and plump. I recommend the restaurant should take the shrimp tail shell off for us. 3. Thai Basil Lemonade - solid lemonade, NEED more basil flavor. Overall, I'd come here again to eat and try other items as well. I'll give it a 5 star for now but more 4.5.

I'll start by saying this place is definitely not big so come with the expectation that you might have to wait for a table. There's only about 8-10 tables in the place and it's definitely geared towards smaller groups. Regardless we ordered at the front and then were able to find a seat. Wound up ordering the combo to try and get a taste of everything. The portions were solid and everything was super tasty. The chicken is perfectly breaded and delicious. It's a bit of a messy meal so just come with that in mind. Have a bunch of different options that also looked tasty. Will have to come back and try again. Service was fine. They were kind and cleared the table. Water is self serve at front of the restaurant and they clearly do a fair amount of takeout. Cool local spot to definitely check out.

Incredible!! The best Thai food we have ever had. To be fair, I haven't been to Thailand yet, but I…read morehave tried a variety of Thai places across the U.S. This was amazing and I will definitely make a special stop here next time I am in Portland. Service was efficient on a weekday for lunch. I was very impressed that the woman serving us also cooks. She said she has one other person helping her over the weekend. The food was SO DELICIOUS. This was the best pad Thai we had with such depth of flavor - not too sweet or oily, just perfect. We also had the pad kra pao, eggplant and tom kha. The tom kha had good flavor and with a thinner broth that I'm used to which was fabulous. The eggplant was so delicious - the consistency was incredible. Not too soggy, just right. I also tried the mango sticky rice. For drinks we had the Thai lemon tea which tasted like Thai iced tea without the milk and lemon added - delightful! We even bought an extra dish to take with us to go. Amazing place. Ambiance is casual. I can't wait to return.

The egg rolls were really good, so was the Duck Curry, but the fried rice stole the show. Something so simple packed with so much flavor. Very laid back vibe, with a bit of a dark subtle decor that allows for a solid date spot as well.
