    Ladda Rice (delicious)

Updated review: Ladda House has become one of our regular places to grab diner. The service is always great. They have SO many options and every dish we've tried has been delicious! Definitely recommend eating here.

Wow! What a jewel I found....i was looking for a Thai restaurant that's open late because we like to eat later in the weekends....came across this place and I was very very pleased to find it. I don't think I have seen a Thai menu longer than this one....wow! And they had some amazing entrees and lot of Thai local street food items that I have not seen in any other Thai restaurant menus. Food was exquisite and super tasty and not something typically I would order out of a Thai menu. All items were super tasty and again I would like to emphasize their unique items and they were all fantastic!

Spicy Coconut Noodles - To Go

I first stumbled upon Ladda Thai house when I was dealing with a sore throat. I ordered their Spicy Coconut Noodles and Tom Kah soup from Uber Eats. The soup hit the spot with delicious coconut milk, lemongrass, kaffir leaves, mushrooms, and green onions. However, I absolutely LOVED the Spicy Coconut Noodles - Rice noodles and bean sprouts covered with a warm coconut milk soup, then topped with crushed peanuts, crispy fried wontons, green onions, and cilantro. You can adjust the spice level according to your personal preference. So good, and now I crave it! Since my love of the Spicy Coconut Noodles peaked my interest in Ladda even more, I visited in person on two separate occasions with a friend and with family. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself has both outdoor and indoor seating, and we decided to eat outside at a red picnic table underneath fake hanging wisteria on both occasions.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My friend and I ordered the Garlic Lovers - broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, and your choice of protein, the Tom Yum Noodle Soup - minced chicken, bean sprouts, basil, wontons, peanuts, and cilantro, a Larb Salad - pork, shallots, lemongrass, mint, cilantro, with a spicy lime sauce over lettuce, and obviously, the Spicy Coconut Noodles to go! It was hard to pick a favorite dish because everything was so delicious and flavorful! The combination of exquisite flavors is perfect. I also appreciate that Ladda allows you to determine the spice level on many dishes. When visiting with family, we ordered their Spicy Coconut Noodles (obviously), the Fresh Wrapped - rice paper filled with veggies, mint, basil, and cilantro with peanut sauce for dipping, Potstickers, and the Mango Sticky Rice. Again, every item was perfect, and my sister loved the sticky rice especially. The servers were very friendly, and gave us plenty of to go boxes so we could share our leftovers. They also gave us more peanut sauce for our leftover Fresh Wraps! Who doesn't want more peanut sauce?! If you are craving Thai food, go to Ladda! You will love it!

The house special red curry sauce lives up to the shreputation is being extremely tasty and a favorite of people who like peanuts. It came with large chunky carrots and other veggies and tender slices of beef. The pad Thai was unique in that it had several sources of protein in it and it was very tasty. I ordered two and a half out of five on those spicy scale. I think I would go to at least three next time I'm there. The service is really good, fast friendly. How full? I thought the prices were not too bad for the quality of food and the servings you get

This place is the best. The food is amazing and people are so great. It's my favorite restaurant in Portland.

I'm always looking for new Thai restaurants to try! This place is amazing! The food is sooo good. I ordered the Basil pumpkin curry and it came with a side of rice that was shaped like a star. Very cute, my friend ordered the Pad thai and that was good as well! The curry had a nice consistency to it and it was packed with flavor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor was very cute in this restaurant and I love how homey it feels![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was okay, wasn't as attentive but no biggie, coming back for sure :)

Ordered some 13. Tom Kah soup from uber eats tonight. Had a couple spoons of soup and saw this floating. Larva / maggots take a bit to get this big.. needless to say.. I didn't eat anymore. I called the restaurant to let them know to check their soup. They offered refund and if I wanted to reorder but I didn't want to reorder. Hopefully this is a wake up call to sanitation practices in the kitchen.

6/12/2024 - An amazing meal at Ladda Thai. Fancy rice.

I do delivery and get quite a few pickups from here or I would not have know about them. I honestly should have since this is an incredible restaurant. The space is so welcoming with it's décor and open space. The menu was overwhelming with so many options that made me want one of everything! And I do not typically drink alcoholic drinks with a meal but glancing over that and I simply must come here sometime for drinks and snacks since they have a ton I want to try! I ordered the chicken karee puffs which are incredible. That flaky delicious pastry is next level! And with their cucumber salad - yum! I also got the salmon avocado bowl. Audi explained to us about the bowl - it was a traditional Lao bowl. All of the food was so delicious and so clean. My friend got their fried zucchini and their fried items are done so mindfully, not greasy and great flavor. I cannot wait to go back!

Last minute decision to stop in for dinner and so glad that we did! Wonderful service and delicious food! The house curry was freaking amazing and definitely brought me back to some core comfort memories. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The fire side tables outside were a fun experience as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will be back!

    51. Khao Soi vegan with fried tofu and glass noodles. No scale, it's a huge bowl!

Lovely ambiance and really good food. Dee Dee Thai is the same place - final page of menu is all vegan. I've had four main courses here, all mild but still with a decent kick so if in doubt of spice level I'd recommend going lower :)

Since it was my first time, I asked the staff for a recommendation. They suggested the bibimbap and mentioned it was on the spicy side, which I was totally okay with. While their cocktails looked really tempting, I ended up getting a Mexican Coke, and I loved that they had it. The bibimbap was absolutely delicious. It had so many different flavors and textures, and somehow they all worked perfectly together. The waiter also suggested mixing everything together before taking the first bite, which I really appreciated. The ambiance was super cute, with a cozy little tiki-bar vibe inside, and they also have a few outdoor tables. The service was exceptional throughout. This is an easy 5-star review from me.

Watch in-depth video breakdown here…read morehttps://youtu.be/2LsMS2vxzRU?is=U5MfItnpo97tUvuq Dirty Lettuce had me questioning whether I was really in Portland or somehow got transported back down South. I'll admit, I came into this place with a slight bias. I'm from the South, and maybe it's ignorant, but when I hear "soul food," I automatically think of the South. I grew up around soul food. I know what good collard greens taste like. I know what good mac & cheese tastes like. So when I heard people on TikTok raving about a vegan soul food restaurant in Portland, Oregon, part of me was thinking: "Soul food? In Portland? How good could it really be?" Well... Dirty Lettuce shut me up pretty quickly. I originally found this place while searching TikTok for vegan restaurants in Portland. Dirty Lettuce kept coming up, and people especially hyped up the fried chicken and BBQ ribs, so I had to see for myself. I ordered the fried chicken meal with collard greens and mac & cheese -- two sides I take VERY seriously. The fried chicken was incredible. The seasoning and batter reminded me of some kind of combination between KFC and Popeyes, while the inside stayed moist and tender. At certain points I genuinely forgot I was eating vegan chicken. It tasted and felt like I was eating a Southern fried chicken plate somewhere in Mississippi or Alabama. Then came the collard greens. Man... These greens tasted like somebody's grandma was in the kitchen cooking Thanksgiving dinner. They serve them in a bowl with plenty of pot liquor, so initially I thought they might be a little watery. Nope. That broth was PACKED with flavor. It was almost like a collard-green soup, and I mean that as a compliment. The greens and the broth complemented each other perfectly. And the mac & cheese? A1. Creamy, rich, flavorful, with this subtle smoky taste that I wasn't expecting. I don't know exactly what they did to it, but whatever they did -- KEEP DOING IT. I also tried the BBQ ribs. They were good, although they were probably my least favorite item compared with everything else. But that's almost unfair because the chicken, greens and mac & cheese set the bar ridiculously high. I also went into the ribs with huge expectations after hearing people hype them up on TikTok, and I'm not really a ribs guy to begin with. So take my opinion there with a grain of salt. They were still good. My one area for improvement would be customer service. The woman who took my order wasn't rude or anything, but I personally would have appreciated a warmer greeting and more inviting energy. I'm very big on customer service, and I think the person at the front counter sets the tone for the entire experience. Maybe she was just having an off day -- we all have them -- but that was really the only part of my visit that didn't match the quality and energy of the food. The restaurant itself is small, clean and has some really cool artwork on the walls. It has a nice atmosphere without trying to be anything overly fancy. But the FOOD is the story here. At one point during my meal, I remembered that Black people make up a relatively small percentage of Oregon's population, and I became convinced somebody from that percentage had to be back there in that kitchen cooking. Because there was no way these greens were tasting this close to something my grandma would have made on Thanksgiving. I came in skeptical. I left thoroughly impressed. Whether you're vegan, vegetarian, or eat meat every day of your life, I'd recommend trying Dirty Lettuce. And if you're from the South and you're skeptical about getting legitimate soul food in Portland like I was? Go ahead and try it. It legitimately reminded me of a Southern Sunday plate from somebody's mama's kitchen. Dirty Lettuce proved me wrong -- and I'm glad they did. Highly recommended. Experience: I visited Top Burmese for dinner with a friend and was thoroughly impressed by the entire experience. This was both of our first times. I am vegan while my friend is not and we had no struggle finding options that suited our needs. What stood out: Service: The staff was knowledgable and checked in on us frequently. Our food only took about 20 minutes to come out despite a busy dinner rush and we were offered chili flakes to spice up our curries. was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. Food: For the table, we ordered the samosas which were perfectly flaky and filled with fresh veggies. I ordered the ruby garden non alcoholic beverage as well as the tofu curry with coconut rice. Every bite and drink of what I ordered tasted unique and made with intention. The samosas were incredible dipped into what tasted like a sweet and sour chili sauce. My tofu curry and coconut rice had a delightful blend of textures and tasted like no other curry I have ever had before. Ambiance: The atmosphere is so cozy with Burmese decor alongside dim lighting. It is perfect for a date night or catching up with a friend. Overall, I will be returning to Top Burmese to enjoy more of their vegan friendly curries and appetizers!

The food was so good it made my day; adding tempeh to the mighty bowl with the garlic and tahini sauce is so good. 10/10 recommend. The real reason I came to write this review though is because staff is super sweet and genuine. It was my first time coming here, and I had a lot of questions about the menu to the point where I could feel myself becoming annoying (face palm). The gal taking my order was Jessi, she was so helpful, kind, knowledgeable, accommodating, and authentically friendly. I can't remember what it was that we shared a laugh about, but I walked away happy because of that type of simple interaction that restores your faith in humanity. People who have never worked in the service industry are generally clueless and walk into a restaurants like it's their first day on earth. But even with my string of annoying questions, she never once made me feel like I was being a nuisance. Whoever is in charge here you should give Jessi a raise. The ambiance was cool and the service was exceptionally fast. Unfortunately both items I ordered were gross. I love chocolate and peanut butter together esp with coffee but their drink was inedible with an awful taste. Maybe they gave me almond butter by mistake. Woof I couldn't even force it down. The quesadilla was incredibly greasy and nothing like a quesadilla. The mouth feel of the walnut chorizo with the soft vegetables was weird / it felt gritty. The flavors fell as well. The only highlight was the salsa but I'm 90% sure it was salsa de welo which you can buy at a store. No one would finish my quesadillas at the table. Major miss for me. Some of the worst food I've had - sorry.
