Wow! What a jewel I found....i was looking for a Thai restaurant that's open late because we like to eat later in the weekends....came across this place and I was very very pleased to find it. I first stumbled upon Ladda Thai house when I was dealing with a sore throat. I ordered their Spicy Coconut Noodles and Tom Kah soup from Uber Eats. The soup hit the spot with delicious coconut milk, lemongrass, kaffir leaves, mushrooms, and green onions. However, I absolutely LOVED the Spicy Coconut Noodles - Rice noodles and bean sprouts covered with a warm coconut milk soup, then topped with crushed peanuts, crispy fried wontons, green onions, and cilantro. You can adjust the spice level according to your personal preference. So good, and now I crave it! Since my love of the Spicy Coconut Noodles peaked my interest in Ladda even more, I visited in person on two separate occasions with a friend and with family. When visiting with family, we ordered their Spicy Coconut Noodles (obviously), the Fresh Wrapped - rice paper filled with veggies, mint, basil, and cilantro with peanut sauce for dipping, Potstickers, and the Mango Sticky Rice. Again, every item was perfect, and my sister loved the sticky rice especially. The servers were very friendly, and gave us plenty of to go boxes so we could share our leftovers. We really enjoyed our meal at Ladda. Service is pretty hands off but it's a small spot so it was easy to get what we needed. The pad Thai was flavorful and the tofu was cooked perfectly; bite sized, well seasoned, and crispy on the outside. I was invited to come here with a new friend from my gym. So after class, we walked over here to grab a bite. I liked that the menu had a huge variety of Thai food. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have green curry. I ended up going with the Tom Yum soup with seafood and a glass of wine. The Tom Yum soup was flavorful. There was the right amount of seafood in there. Some restaurants I have found in the past have been skimpy with the seafood. Overall, I would definitely come back again to try different things. We had the Basil fried rice with chicken and the tofu eggplant rice dish. Both were so delicious! The eggplant, tofu, the fried rice, the veggies, the black rice, it was ALL yummy!  Honestly, their food is 5 stars! Oftentimes at Thai restaurants the meat is a bit sketchy while the sauces and rice are good, which is why we chose one vegan dish. But their chicken was quite good along with everything. The server was super friendly and nice, 5 stars on service too! I like that they have outdoor seating, but we sat indoors as there were no heated lamps, and the fireplace was not turned on.  The reason the overall score for me is a 4 is that it was super cold, it was barely warmer inside than being outside. I also would like the health score to increase. Both are not difficult fixes. As far as atmosphere, it's not cute and trendy like a bistro, but it was fine, please see my photos. I still very much recommend this place based on the quality of food and friendly service! Definitely the best Thai food I have had in a loooong time! The reviews do not lie! We were skeptical at first that a place could be that delicious...Not only was our food fresh and good for the soul, but the ambience was so cheerful and clean! And our waiter was so happy and helpful. WOW, amazing experience. We had the OMG appetizer which was scrumptious, the Ladda Spicy Basil (not spicy if you get it mild, which I did because I'm chicken), and the Red curry. All divine! Was not the biggest fan of this place. My partner and I got two different drinks but they seemed to be made very similar. I've never seen mint in a Moscow mule before and it seemed more like a mojito. The pad see eew was very bland and lacked depth. I've been on a pad see eew kick and have had a lot of good ones recently and this one was probably the worst. The vegan Karee puffs did save the day though. I love love love this place. Have been multiple times since being in Portland. I got the usual pad Thai with like level 4 spice and it was so delicious. The pad Thai comes with tofu shrimp and chicken so I love that it was full of protein and still so tasty. I've gotten it multiple times. I took my family here when they came to visit and my parents had never had Thai food but they left being Thai lovers. We had the crab fried rice, garlic prawns, Tom yum soup and pad Thai and rangoons for starter. Everything was so tasty and delicious and fresh and hot. The service was so quick we weren't finished with appetizers before they brought our main dishes. We sat outside in the patio which was nice. Everyone was so full and still had some to take home. The menu here is quite big and overwhelming and normally too large a menu is red flag for me but I think this place is the exceptions because everything I've had from here has been good. I want to try new places but then end up back here because I know it won't disappoint. I've been here a couple times, both takeout and dine in. I'm vegan, so all of the food I had was from the vegan menu. I really appreciate that it has a different section on the menu because it makes finding what I can have a lot easier, without having to customize any of it. Takeout: When I came for takeout, the waiter still offered me water and a table which was very nice. The wait was not long at all and all of the food was hot and delicious. I liked the decor and it kept me occupied during my pretty short wait Dine in: I loved the plating of the food, and there's some cool tables here. We sat at a normal booth but they have one right next to a big window and it looked cozy. They also have outdoor seating but it's still cold outside so I haven't experienced that yet. Came here after a day of traveling and disc golf as it was close to our accommodations and open late, left incredibly satisfied. The food and service were both superb. We had a couple appetizers (fresh rolls and a crab egg roll thing with a punny name), Tom kha soup, and drunken noodles. I've had several dishes here like the house special curry which is a peanut-red curry dish that my favorite curry ever(PEANUT LOVERS BEWARE). The pad Thai has really good noddles and portions were great. The yellow curry was the first curry I ever had awhile back, and still holds as one of the best curry I've ever had.
