I have been storing stuff here for the past few months, and very happy with Saf Keep Milpitas. The facility is very clean. They have drive up units and also interior and upstairs units which are cheaper. For the upstairs units, they have carts/dollies on site (free to use) and a large elevator. Every storage unit has an alarm. You need to enter a code to unlock the gate from where you can drive in, and this disables the alarm to your storage unit. When you leave, you unlock this gate again to exit, and that arms the alarm again. There are lots of cameras all around, which makes this place more secure. Renting a storage unit is easy, you can do it online or do it in person (only takes 10 minutes). I was not sure what size I would need, so I called them and they were kind enough to hold a unit for me without any obligation to rent. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the front office sells packing/moving supplies and locks. You get to spin a wheel at move-in and win a prize. read more

Saf Keep - Milpitas' rating, reviews and especially their online promotions for certain units, is what drew me to inquire with them. I sent an email this past Mon 9/18 and after about 20 min received a call from Katie, which I missed due to my phone being on silent at work. In her voicemail she was very friendly & extremely informative. I've been swamped all week so I forgot to return her call. The following day, the Manager, Scott called as well. Once again, missed the call. I visited the location yesterday and Scott was there. Very friendly as well, accommodating, informative and answered all my questions & concerns promptly and with utmost confidence. I reserved a unit and the process was much faster than I had anticipated. The facility was very clean and secure surveillance. I have been in customer service for many years and therefore, am very critical when it comes to service I receive. I have used Saf Keep twice in the past between 2006 and 2008. I had great experiences here in the past with both the quality of the facility and the staff, so when I found myself needing storage again I didn't hesitate to call them. Well, things (management I think) have changed in 2011! I looked up their rates online and found the unit size I needed was $86 a month, so I called to see if one was available. I spoke to a woman named Gloria who unintentionally did everything she could do to steer me away from using them. First she gave me the run around about whether the size I wanted was available then tried to hurry me up with the "I have two other people interested in renting this unit" line. I gave her my number and she said she would call later that day if no one showed up - NO call! Even after my iffy conversation with Gloria, I went over the next morning to see about renting the unit and, lucky me, Gloria was working. She remembered our call from the previous day and proceeded to tell me that the size I wanted wasn't available - then paused and did some checking and found one. Felt like the whole thing was a little staged and she was trying to make me think she was going above and beyond just for me - didn't work! So now, I'm ready to fill out the paperwork. I get started while she is helping other customers. When she gets back to me but before I sign the dotted line, I want to confirm the price with her. She goes on about insurance and my "option" to get insurance through them. I politely tell her that I have insurance and that I would be happy to give them a copy of the declaration page to waive the $9 a month extra charge. She tells me she "thinks" they will reimburse the $9 a month fee after I bring in my insurance. I press her for a definite answer BEFORE I sign and she had to call the manager to find out. Bottom line from them - even if I have my own insurance, I would still have to pay the $9 extra a month for theirs. The whole process felt like a scam and I left without the renting the unit. Although, this place is in the best location for me, I refuse to use a place I feel isn't being above board with me. I found a unit at a different place where I got honest, straight forward answers to all my questions the first time I asked. read more

GROSS! the first day i went there with a couple friends and my 10 year old nephew to help me move. I went up first and my friends followed after they loaded more of my boxes onto a cart. they were looking for me and found an open door with a sheet hanging from the top as a drape so they called my name and looked inside. Inside, there were two middle aged people having sex. It bothered me because i had my young cousin with me and would have not wanted him to see that. is it a storage unit or a whore house???I reported it to the staff. I went there again recently and what do you know, the same door was open with the same sheet. not cool. In an argument with the staff i mentioned that i reported this and nothing was done, they said they already knew about it (wtf?). i called again and they said they would be evicted, not reassuring since i was told this previously. I want to write a review before I forgot. I went into the place several times to inquire about a storage space for my small business. Everyone is very polite and nice every time no matter how many questions I have for them. I finally set the date for move in and our delivery truck lift gate was broken and the guys from the storage used the big joe and helped me to unload the pallets. Not only that, the delivery driver refused to push the pallets into our storage claiming he doesn't have the right tools and the pallets are too heavy and took off. The guys at the storage was so kind and used pallet jet to push our pallets in. Exceptional service! I will stay with them for as long as we need. read more

This is my first experience with SafKeep Storage and so far I am extremely satisfied. The establishment is very clean and the staff is very helpful. They are friendly and knowledgeable. I was shown several units and was given the option to change units later if I needed a different size. All units are alarmed and there is a security/maintenance person on site 24/7. Let me just say I love the place. Scott, the manager is absolutely awesome. The place is clean, modern equipment and doesn't look shady at all. Price is also very reasonable, not much more than the places nearby. There is ONE MAJOR problem I have. The place only operates from 7-6:45. The hours are simply too short as I can only use the place on the weekend. Most working professionals don't get home until 7, please extend the hours to 8 at least!!!!!!! If not for that, this place would have gotten a 5 star. Also I had trouble getting to the office sometimes when Scott isn't there, so make sure you look for him. read more

After looking at some scary storage facilities in bad neighborhoods, I was really surprised how nice this one is. My biz needed a drive-up unit and they had plenty to choose from. Pricing was a bit higher than some others nearby but this place just felt safer. Best of all, the roll-up doors here are really tall - at least 7 ft clearance - which was critical for us since we need to wheel in tall equipment easily. It is clean, quiet, and employees are nice, such as Robert, Beattie, Kathy, Gloria, Jesus, Claudette, etc. I want to thank Robert and Beattie for being very helpful in the past. I came to make payment a few days ago, and met the new manager Scott U. We had a quick talk. I quickly found out he has pleasant personality, eager to help, open to questions, and I am sure Scott will be a good manager for the years ahead. I think the rate on the large units, e.g. 300 - 400sq ft, are a bit high, and I wish the rate a bit lower, and give discount to long term, loyal customers, so I reduce 1* on this review. They make you give them a 10 day notice before you can vacate. So instead of being able to save some money on the unit for unused days. I had to pay until the end of the month. An additional 16 days that I did not need. Other storage facilities that I've worked with do not do it this way. They let you vacate when you want to, up to the day and not charge you for the unused days. read more
