Small difficult parking in front. Hard to turn left onto Middlefield on exit. Lots of Costco traffic. Front Desk staff could be friendly and more helpful. The plus size woman that works there is extremely brusk and decided it's OK to take a half hour lunch in the middle of the business day even though their hours show they are open for business. read more

I read a lot of good reviews of this place and decided to open my storage with them now even though the previous storage had a location here. Alma help me and I really enjoy the service. I ask for a tour before signing up. The Location has only 2 floors and that is great for me. My unit is so close to the elevator and that help me so much. They provided a 30 minutes assistant in moving in. Of course you need to tell them ahead to schedule it. They have great place to park. Yes you do park in front of others people storage but so far I haven't had any problem. The carts they have move so easily and so far all good for me. I love the keypad that said "OK THANK YOU" love the sound. I will truly recommend this place. read more

I stored my items at this facility It caught on fire and they never notified me. Kept making me pay for 3 months then told me the unit has water damage they were going to move my items to a new storage unit. The lady in the office was very rude and unprofessional. My items are completely ruined mold,water damage and smoke damage. I paid for insurance through this company they had charged me monthly for. The insurance never returned my phone calls and it's been 5 months. Horrible facility they just don't care about their customers at all. All my stuff is ruined and I'm out of pocket a lot of money due to having to replace my items because they would not help me at all. And they still asking me to pay them for the stuff they ruined ‍ I hope the same thing happens to them so they will know how it feels to lose your stuff and no one cares at that facility because it not their stuff read more

My experience with Saf Keep's Redwood City location has been great. But the customer service provided to me yesterday by Saf Keep, and especially Madison, went above and beyond & is worthy of noting here. I showed up with an open truck bed full of stuff I needed to unload quickly, because rain was moving into the area & was imminent. Immediately, the front office called Madison to help me unload right away. I don't know the name of the woman who was working at the front desk yesterday afternoon (I was in a rush), but she's wonderful, too. Madison was gracious, efficient, kind, and super duper helpful. In no time, the truck was completely unloaded into my storage unit before any rain fell. I literally could not have asked for better customer service - I was provided caring, super responsive, top-notch service. Madison rocks! We rolled in right at closing time with a giant truck full of stuff, and the manager on duty was nevertheless a great help. She got us set up with a unit very quickly and painlessly, and when one of our plants fell out of the truck and the pot broke, she gave us a pot she had lying around. All in all the process of renting the unit was very easy. We also received help with moving our items from the truck into our new unit. They only offer 30 minutes of free move-in help, but the gentleman who assisted us really tried to make the most of those 30 minutes with us, and by the time he had to go we'd already unloaded about 80% of the giant truck we drove in with. Everything seems fairly secure. The door latches on the units roll-up doors are strong, there are cameras everywhere, and the keyed entry gate is tall and sturdy. We have only been storing things in our unit for about a week so far, so it remains to be seen how everything will turn out over the long term. The kickoff process is painless, however, and I do recommend this Saf Keep location on that basis alone. read more

I received a message from the owner of Saf Keep and was contacted by the District Manager Donna. She "corrected" the mistakes the two on-site managers made and made me realize that their company does care about their customers. She handled the situation well and I am once again a happy customer. I hope that the on-site managers learned some customer service skills from Donna, otherwise, I think they should find another job! They should realize that without storage renters, they would not get a paycheck. HA! There are people out there who are in desperate need of jobs. They are lucky they have one and they should learn to appreciate it and again, if they don't, maybe the owner needs to find others to replace them who understand the mission and vision of the company. When I was given the 800 # to call for my complaints, I said to myself "Yeah, right. This is a dead end!". But, I just want to assure everyone that if you ever have any concerns, don't hesitate to leave a message in the owner's voicemail and someone will get back to you. Donna advised me that my message was taken seriously. I am giving it only 3 stars because the ladies in the office are rude. The 3 stars are for Donna's service and the cleanliness of the facility. I want to reiterate that the office employees deserve NO STARS AT ALL!!! And here's another proof: I see a review from Erin G on 12/2/11. Obviously, these women are never going to change. I hope that the owner realizes soon enough what a big problem these "office managers" cause and just let them go! I did a lot of research for storage units In the area. Saf Keep had great reviews so I checked them out in person (at the RWC location). A number of storage locations deal with crime or constant rate hikes. Saf Keep we're very transparent and I felt comfortable immediately storing my things here. Alma helped me with the paperwork end of renting and was fantastic. Daniel drove me to a few units so I could check out the sizes in person. We took advantage of the free truck use today to move my furniture in. Liz helped me at pick up and it was quick and simple. We picked the worst day of the year to move as it poured with rain all day. When we got back to the storage facility to unload our furniture Matt helped is out (30 mins of help is included for new move ins). We were all soaked, and after getting a couple of things in my second floor unit the power went out due to the storm. Matt stayed with us and helped us unload every item we had in the truck. The freight elevator was not working due to the power outage so we had to haul the furniture up stairs and along a long hallway. Matt was pleasant and assured us he was happy to help. He went way above and beyond what he needed to do and I just don't think I would have gotten through today without him. Bottom line, this facility feels safe (they have someone who lives onsite), the units are all individually alarmed, and facilities are spotlessly clean. They are not the cheapest storage around, but they are very competitive, and the security peace of mind is more than worth it. The inclusion of free use of a truck or van, and the moving assistance when you get there is such a bonus. What really makes Saf Keep stand out though is their entire staff. They can't do enough to help. I feel so fortunate that I found this storage company and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for storage on this area. read more

The facility is well laid out, and all units we've seen there are extraordinarily clean, secure, and high quality overall. An additional safety feature; having to punch-in your "code" at the security gate when both entering and leaving the facility. We also got a great price compared to other facilities we checked out. I was looking for an alternative to Public Storage since they increased my rent by 10% (avg) every year. After reading other Yelp reviews and finding a great price, I went ahead with Saf Keep. Having come from Public Storage, the friendliness and customer satisfaction is night and day! Liz, Alma, John, and Jesse were all very helpful and welcoming. I knew right away I made the right decision. Even with a $650 moving expense, I'm still saving $800 on my first year's rent! Can't beat that. They also said rents typically go up 3% - 6% annually which is much less than PS. John also honored an extended discount (found on Yelp) which was icing on the cake! Saf Keep - highly recommended! Public Storage - not recommended at all. They aren't up front about annual rent increases. read more

I've used this Saf Keep twice I think, and it has probably been the best storage place I've found near Palo Alto. Access hours are great (a lot of other places seem to close gates around 7). There are elevators and big dollies/carts all around. The units are pretty high (7 or 8 feet), plus the prices have been the best all-around for me. All units are indoors so you don't have to worry about weather or anything, and you can easily access your unit whenever (one place I used you had to let them know you were coming so they could get your container down). read more

Saf Keep is AMAZING. Seriously, the best. The facilities are probably comparable to most other mid-range storage places, but the service is what sets them worlds above the rest. When I called I was immediately impressed by the courteousness and helpfulness of the representative. They had a special for the size unit I needed, and offered their company truck to do the move-in. (That'a a great option!) I didn't need the truck, but when I arrived there the manager rode me to my unit on the company golf cart, explained how the facility, the unit, and billing works and put all my concerns at ease. The ladies working at the office are the best! both of them are very professional and knowledgeable! I had a couple of problems regarding the reservation and Alma found the solutions very fast. They have a moving truck which made my life so much easier without having to deal with all the paperwork and dropping the truck at other places. The units are well maintain and location is convenient right off 101. The only thing I suggest is that you take pictures of the mileage, gas and truck before you use it.. when I gave the truck back the person checking the mileage had made a mistake and luckily I had pictures of the mileage and my day was save! I moved from Southern California back to Northern California and had to store some things that wouldn't fit into my new apartment. I did my research and decided to come here. Reserving the unit was easy which was good for me because I was still in Southern Ca. I was able to extend the reservation another week free of charge because I was delayed by my movers. When I went to final the reservation I realized I needed something bigger. They walked me around and helped me find the perfect unit. The entire process was so easy and I held the unit. In the moving day I dropped off stuff and was able to use their dolly to take my stuff to the unit. The hours of operation are good and the storage hours are reasonable. I've gone back three times to drop off other things and it's always been clean, well lighted and easy. read more
