We have looked high and low for a clean, friendly, affordable and safe self storage. And we have…read morefound it with Bay Area Self Storage! We have used other self storage companies but this one has upheld their standards. The facility is always clean. I don't have to worry about my items getting dusts or bugs. We have an inside unit and i have never seen any foot prints of mud or debris from the outside. We have walked around the facility and the outside looks clean. The pavements are even unlike other outside facilities. The staff are super friendly! The man to ask for is Christoper, he is very helpful and has a very caring tone even if i ask him the same question every month. He even offers water or candy! This storage place is affordable, the price doesn't go up because of the economy. We have tried other self storage companies and our rent goes up because "the need of space or demand of space" as what they call it. We usually go to our storage in the day time but even going during night time doesn't bother us anymore. The facility is crawling with cameras and someone is in the office until 6pm. The lights are bright and i never have to bring any flash light. Highly recommend and will continue to use this facility.

I've been storing my items here for over a year. Horrible customer service…read more Had and issues with a guy who hangs out in his shed from 9-7pm. Is this storage or homeless shelter? He stores and tried to sell his bikes from the shed. He stated some of the $1000 bikes were found or given to him. He offered to sell me a bike that was the exact same Specialized model and color as a bike that was stolen 2 months earlier from me. I called the cops and let them sort it out. I'll leave the rest of the details out as that is between the police and the guy. The manager decided to intervene in the police investigation. The manager was ignorant and decided to berate my wife and I because she had a preexisting 10 year relationship (stated by her) with the guy and that I should have taken my concerns to her before calling the cops. She wanted me to notify her that i suspected him of possessing a stolen bike (so she could notify him?) Yeah, that's just moronic. You notify the police and let them deal with it. And she was angry at me for calling police. Bad management putting itself in a police matter. When it comes to issues, legal or criminal, she's not thinking straight or protecting all customers.

I must say I would not have rented here if I had I read the other reviews first- but I do feel like the property is making efforts to turn the place around. When I moved out I found the moisture absorbing pouches that I put in my items in case of any moisture getting in there, and they were totally dry, even with all the rain we have had. The buildings are well cared for and maintained. You don't have to wait on hold to speak with a human or be routed to some corporate call center if you ever have a question. It feels like a small town, easy, simple, person to person. If I ever need another storage unit I will definitely go back!

I got my entire storage unit robbed with $8k worth of stuff which was only intended to be stored for a month while signing the new lease of my apartment. None of the workers cared, they weren't helpful and the cops told me that this happens often. The main manger Marybeth, does not care what happens to your stuff and neither do her lazy workers. They refused to look at the footage and did not act until I told them I was calling the cops. The unit next to mine was also broken in to. Please save yourself a headache, money, and sentiment memories of items. I truly regret not doing research before because I lost everything I owned.
