I have been with this company for over two years and now I wish to cancel my service with them. It has been a nightmare to say the least. For the past two months I have made over a dozen phone calls requesting to cancel my service, I have sent a half a dozen emails requesting cancellation of service and I have sent two certified letters requesting cancellation of service; however, it still has not been cancelled. Wish I could leave zero stars. They are the worst company to deal with. We have a situation like one of the reviews below where they have on our credit report that we owe them money that we closed at consumer request yet almost 5 yrs we still have them and our account is in good standing. We can't get a loan and they said they will email us a letter to bring to he bank so the bank would know they made a mistake but they have not done so. They said they will correct the credit report but I doubt they will. When we moved of course we had to transfer our service or we would of had to pay a cancellation fee well these idiots instead of having us sign a 2 yr contract like we had before had us sign a 5yr contract without letting us know. Thankfully our contract us up soon and I will not renew. Their website looks good, but their service is horrible! We're locked in to a 4-5 year contract with this company. What they don't tell you is that they only service (2) two times a week from like 9-3pm in my area! My system is down and have been waiting a month for service. Each time I schedule, the date changes when we get close. At one time they discontinued the service of calling the police, but our bill stayed the same. Who does that! Looking at other reviews I see this is not an isolated situation. I AM NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER and WILL NOT renew with this company or recommend them!!! read more

Our system was installed on Aug 23, and it is now Oct 31. The panel chirps almost continuously, and panel says batteries need to be replaced, and they are only 3 months old. Talked to Customer Service to cancel service, and they refused because of contract. My 88 year old husband signed the contract and couldn't tell me what he signed afterward. These jokers are a scam. We bought their equipment - a year later our garage was broken into. We called them to get MORE sensors installed and they told us over the span of two MONTHS that they would get a tech to come install them. Assured us daily - we both work full time and sometimes more than full time and we NEED the promises we pay for to be honored! Nothing NADA. We ordered a camera to be installed and a package for monitoring with said camera. TWO MONTHS and about a dozen phone calls and they refused to refund our money on the unopened camera trying to hold us to a contract for MONITORING with the uninstalled camera. I called SHS office back in March when I sold my salon, telling them that I no longer own the business and gave them the new owner's contact info. It was my first time being a business owner, so I assumed after the new owner took over they would cancel my contract. The agent on the phone didn't tell me that I had to email them to cancel my contract, no explanation, no clarification whatsoever. They called me yesterday saying that I owe them money. Why had nobody called me in the past 7 months about billing? They said I have to pay the remaining amount on the contract which totaled about 1k... We canceled service in 2015 and Safe Home reported to the credit bureaus in January 2017 that we owed $700. We didn't find this out until we applied for an auto loan in March 2018. After several phone calls, Melanie Lacana, accounts manager at Safe Home, confirmed they received our cancellation letter and it shouldn't have been reported as unpaid. She told us she couldn't remove the erroneous information to the credit bureaus because it had been over a year since they fraudulently reported it and it was up to us to take care of it. Total BS! The alarm never worked, the people that came always tried to sell us more things and the costumer care was and is still horrible. For what they charge and what they sell this is a scam. The biggest joke of this all was that when I called to get my username and password to sign into my online account that pretty much told me they don't exist and the website is just a front. Im in the middle of cancelling it and its a terrible system that involves email and calling and its a mess. My front door alarm was triggered while I was at work. It took nine minutes for SHS to dispatch the police. My front cameras never detect or record motion, as they are supposed to, so I couldn't tell if someone was in my house. The front door was opened and the police arrive 40 minutes after the alarm went off. I couldn't get in touch with a human at the monitoring center. The customer service is the worst. They've lied to me on numerous occasions to try to get me to purchase additional products, and the system still doesn't work properly. I am a single female and I have no peace of mind with this company. I am having the system uninstalled today, they are not allowing me to get out of my contract without a huge buyout cost. Wow, not really sure where to begin, and this will be a long post..so grab a beverage, sit back and read! In October of 2019 I had a salesperson come and visit my home, representing Safe Home Security. I explained to him, this not being my first rodeo, that we had a system previously installed in our home and I wanted to upgrade it with more advanced technology. I wanted additional Smoke Sensors (we have 3 floors), door and window sensors, Cameras installed on the exterior, and I want to control it all with Alarm.com. He said NO PROBLEM!!! This was a Saturday. He needed a check for $200 for installation. I grabbed the checkbook and he asked me to make it payable to ----------, I asked who is -----------? He told me that is his Salesperson and he owned the Company. He wanted to help her out and make this her sale. I figured, ok, being the trusting sort I am, and it is only $200.00. The company seemed reputable enough (should have checked Yelp first). He called me on Sunday and asked what day works best? Tuesday or Wednesday for Installation? I said Tuesday, and he said OK, my crew will be there between 8-12. Tuesday rolled around and nothing...Wednesday shows up and again, nothing! I called Safe Home and they knew nothing...they did not even have information regarding me. About a week or so goes by and I get a call from a person claiming to be the Sales Manager. He explained to me my Salesperson (who told me he owned the Company-Liar!) was involved in a head on collision on the Sunday night I spoke to him. He was currently in a Coma and in the Hospital. Wow....I felt bad and understood it was beyond the companies control. He told me that he got the paperwork from the Salesperson's Girlfriend. I was then told that the Salesperson made some commitments that he should not have and he was not sure how they could honor them. I was like "What?" Anyway, we spoke, he agreed to give me what I wanted. About 2 weeks later (so now a month after my first meeting) a technician finally arrived. He spent the day installing (would have been a less if he did not talk so much and worked)..and really did a good job (I thought). He used some of the old (previously installed equipment like motion detectors and sensors) and connected the new equipment. He did not do the Camera's, and said he would be back fo that. Anyway, he leave, we go about our evening and set the alarm for the first time. About 11pm the Alarm triggers. Sirens blaring, and then my Cell Phone rings. It is the Monitoring Center asking me for my passcode? I said my what? I assured the operator that I was the Homeowner, and the system was just installed, and I did not have a passcode. She then said "ok, have a good night"...then proceeded to call everyone on our Notification list..then of course the Sheriff's Dept arrives to check out the seen. Needless to say, I was not happy! The next day I called and explained what happened. We now have a verbal passcode. I was told the fault came from a Glass Break Sensor. They could not bypass it, and I should not arm the system until they can come and check it out. Fast forward another Month..so now 2 months later another Tech shows up. He is here to fix the system and install Cameras. He tells me that our barking dog probably set off the Glass Break! WHAT?? Um, no...we were asleep and so was the dog! Moving on, he tells me in order to install the Cameras he needs to drill through my Brick Exterior, pop holes in my kitchen wall and run cables......and they will be noticable. I think that was his way of saying he really did not want to install them. He recommended I get a different type of Camera that has a rechargeable Battery and less obtrusive. So I agreed and let the Sales Manager I had been working with what I wanted to do. He told me the Tech would need to come back out then, but will finish the install today and fix the system. So he finished and left. That night, yep, you guessed it....the Alarm system triggered! This time, I had a passcode, so no Sheriff! Guess what the cause was?? The SAME GLASS BREAK AS BEFORE!!! Fast forward to today....nearly 5 months later and I have been unable to set my system, I have no Cameras Installed...and they actually tried to Invoice me for Monitoring Service! I called today, and said get your system out of my house, YOU will patch up any holes you made and I want all my money back. Rather than trying to satisfy me, assure me she would take care of it..she said "you can cancel, but you need send a letter why your cancelling!" SERIOUSLY? I told her I am not doing anything! She will send a technician, who will remove the system, patch and paint any holes...and issue me a FULL Refund for the money I paid. The Sales Manager has gone silent since the 20th of January and I am the customer. I shouldn't have to work this hard, or exert this much energy to give them my business. I further told her is she does not have the Owner call me, I will contact the District Attorney and the BBB-Waiting! read more

Got a random call from this company. I agreed to hear some additional information. Then I started to get several calls to confirm my installation in the space of one hour. I explained I was only interested in information. Then I got a personal credit alert that my credit report had been pulled by this company. I at no point agreed to having my credit report pulled. After all these months today , the rep tells me the last two numbers are transposed but nobody previously decided to address the issue. Needed tech support today, all techs were released to go home at 430 pm. I'm just walking out of my place of employment by then. Incredibly poor installation. Incredibly poor monitoring. Incredibly horrendous customer services. This is a gimmick company that acts like a pyramid ponzie scheme to lock you into a contract and bill you mercilessly. Cancelling your service is made nearly impossible, and customer service is known for transferring your call to a dead line (Extension 1600) that rings and rings and rings and then goes to voice mail. By far the worst company ever. I have had several problems with this company. Every time I have contacted them for a resolution, I am told they have to send an email to someone higher up and that someone will contact me. It never happens. I am two months in with this company. My system has worked for 1 week and they never bought out the contract with my previous provider, so I am paying both companies for service I am not getting. Also, cancelling is intentionally made as difficult as possible. I called back and they were rude. When I asked to talk to the supervisor the man said he was the supervisor. I cancelled my service, went ADT and they still billed me. I contacted VISA who got in contact with a real supervisor who informed us that rep lied. He wasn't a supervisor. I told him I needed the $24.99 reimbursed. he said no. I disputed it and I won. The following month the charge appeared again. I disputed it and won. Now again. It looks like I have to cancel this card so this pathetic company will stop billing me. I cancelled my service back in August of 2015. Safe home continued to bill me for some odd reason (I have confirmation of the cancellation) and decided to tag it on my credit report that I owed them over $700. I contacted them and they acknoledged their error and said it would be resolved but here we are two years later, my credit score is tanking and nothing has been resolved. I just called and they guy could care less, he suggested that I have my attorney contact them. I am beyond frustrated and am preparing to press charges if someone doesn't reach out to me in the next 48 hours. Anyone else experience this and have suggestions? How is this company still in business with so many terrible reviews of fraud and a lawsuit against them and the Attorney General on their case because they did not stick to the settlement terms? Why are they not shut down? My story: My mother fulfilled her contract and then sent her non-renewal letter via certified mail a few weeks late. (She did not want to renew for several reasons, but medical bills due to cancer was one.) When she asked if she could have some flexibility and would they please accept the non-renewal, they SHOULD have told her (according to one rep) that she could go month-to-month at that point since she had fulfilled her original contract. Instead someone pushed her into another two-year contract. She is paying monthly for THAT one now. THEN they called her and told her the front door was not arming correctly. They said it would be $89 to fix that -- or she could add a $10 per month warranty fee in order to get it fixed at no charge. So she did that. The rep made her sign a document for the ten dollar warranty fee. Turns out she was signing another contract -- this time a FIVE-YEAR CONTRACT. She was NOT told it was a contract - just a warranty fee. There is no way someone who sent a certified letter stating she would not renew and who was already made to add another two years would knowingly add an additional five years. Add to that, she is now stage 4 -- it breaks my heart to see her dealing with this situation when she is fighting this disease. Now they won't adjust anything. They have her on the line for another five years PLUS they charged her the ten dollar extra monthly fee AND the $89 that they were supposed to waive. Customer service leaves something to be desired. Phone call to discuss and cancel service was not returned. When I finally reached someone the following week, I was told to email a cancellation notice, which I did. No acknowledgment has been received after a week. No reply to my second email, asking for receipt. Policy states auto-renewal of contract if written notice is not received 60 days prior to contract end date. The phone rep I talked with said that they like to call before that to discuss renewal. No phone call was made (she acknowledged such). So, yes, I am sadly disappointed in their customer service. If there is ZERO stars, I will give that instead. Their staff and customer service is the worst ever. I was selling my old home and moving to a new one, it took over 5 months with weekly phone call by me to have someone call me to review my options, and when they did call back, the manager try to sell me a system at my new house that is DOUBLE ($1600 system) the cost of the aver system at ADT. Also, they would only let me out of the old contract if I sign a 5 year new contract. Who will ever do that with this terrible customer service company. I finally decided to cancel the contract and just pay the cancelation fees, that took another month before anyone will call me back. They only call because I cancel the credit card that was auto-paying for their monthly service, that got their attention. After confirming that I am canceling the service, they keep calling weekly to ask if I want to pay the balance NOw, even through they give you to the end of the month...... they only call to get their money. NEVER give them your business, use ADT. At safe home, I dealed with Jennifer (terriable) and Matt (called and email me weekly to ask to pay), even though i had to end of the month.
