We called Joe at JRD and he quoted us $4800 for a new Carrier brand HVAC unit installed. We were a little skeptical about how low the price was, but he put us at ease by explaining that he had purchased a large number of units from the manufacturer and he was able to get a good price from buying in a large quantity. We decided to hire him, and his 4-man crew showed up promptly the next morning and got to work outside. By the time I arrived home in the afternoon, they were ready to go into the attic and finish the install. Our new unit is working perfectly and the price was exactly as Joe had originally quoted, no hidden fees or bait and switch tactics. I would highly recommend Joe and JRD Residential!!!

They have turned the case over to the prosecutors My credit card company has ruled in my favor and has credited my account ( I am SO glad I used the credit card and not my check). James also found that one of the ducts was closed which was an Ahh! Moment since we noticed little to no air flowing . I was shocked how bad our vents were. James and his colleague were very nice and helpful. They were careful and covered our couch to avoid getting debris and they even vacuumed after they were done. The only one problem was they left nails in two of our beds. He did suggest the UV light and will be coming back to install. James was very nice and even with expressing his recommendation, I never felt it was forced at all. Fair price for the service. I will update a follow up once we get the UV light installed.

My experience has been a nightmare of dishonest practices, negligence, and outright abuse of trust. 1. Overselling & Taking Advantage of Customers * They sold me more AC units than my property actually required, thereby creating a ridiculously oversized system, leading to short cycling, humidity issues, too high air pressure etc etc , taking advantage of my lack of technical knowledge. * This is not just unethical--it's considered unconscionable under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA), which prohibits selling products or services that are unnecessary to a consumer. 2. Failure to Perform & No-Shows * The contractor repeatedly failed to show up to scheduled appointments, causing project delays, wasted time, and additional costs, and when they showed up the damaged walls, doors, thermostats ,carpets etc. etc. * Despite multiple opportunities to meet and resolve issues, they ignored my requests. 3. Fraudulent Mechanic's Lien Filed Against My Property * Their accountant personally signed and filed a mechanic's lien even though our contract clearly states final payment is only due after all final city inspections have passed--and inspections had NOT passed. * Filing a lien to pressure someone into paying money that is not owed is a fraudulent lien under Texas Civil Practice & Remedies Code §12.002, which carries statutory penalties, actual damages, attorney fees, and potential criminal liability. * The lien was not only baseless but also filed in bad faith to intimidate me. 4. Unprofessional and Unethical Behavior * Instead of resolving issues in good faith, this company chose to use apparently illegal tactics and deception. * Texas law is clear: filing fraudulent liens and exploiting consumers can lead to civil and criminal penalties. I now have to waste time and money pursuing legal remedies for damages, lien removal, and potential penalties under Texas law. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, stay far away from this contractor.

We had a point person to communicate directly with Anthony and the crew sent out so that we could work out all the kinks and details. I recommend putting a clear cut list together of what the expectations are so nothing is missed, especially if it's a bigger, unique job. We did have to wait a little to get on the schedule but it was for a reason I appreciated: while supplies were limited they were trying to help the most people instead of sinking all of their materials into one job. They helped me avoid cutting into wood paneling and built in bookcases that would have been a nightmare to repair by moving a hose bib. And when the job was over Nayar was very patient with me when I asked him to give me an overview of where all the lines were located in case I had to trouble shoot anything. Also, the employees who only spoke Spanish were so kind in dealing with my poorly mangled Spanish - So. Kind. My experience with Halo was extremely frustrating. A drainage project that began around July 8 took…read moreabout a month to complete, leaving a trench around my home and delaying other work, including roofing, electrical, and AC repairs. The biggest issue was a nearly $6,000 change order for a bathroom drain addition that was clearly identified in the drain inspection provided to the owner before the project was quoted. That inspection recommended replacing both older cast-iron systems with PVC. I was told the report was not fully reviewed before the quote was prepared because the owner receives too many reports and is usually rushed. Unfortunately, that lack of review resulted in a major added cost. There were also property-damage issues. My sidewalk and sprinkler cable were damaged during the work. I had to push back repeatedly after initially being told the damage may have been caused by me or my subcontractors. Communication and customer service were also disappointing. I found the project manager dismissive, and my request for a site meeting with the owner after the first major issue was ignored. The project total nearly doubled. When I requested a resolution, I was offered a split of the cost of the quoting error rather than removal of it. On a Friday evening, I was told the error would be removed; by Saturday morning, I received a threat and a promise of a lien. I cannot recommend Halo based on the inaccurate quoting, property damage, prolonged disruption, and handling of these concerns.

They came out to survey a leak that I had on the outside of my kitchen area. They didn't hesitate one bit to try and find where the leak was coming from and once it was found they told me how it was gonna be fixed. Unfortunately there was no easy fix and they were gonna have to dig under the foundation and break about 20ft of concrete because they were gonna have to reroute my plumbing. The owner never once told me it couldn't be done or try to make some type of excuse why it couldn't be done. They went ahead and scheduled me so that the repairs could be done and they were out here on 03/03/2021-03/04/2021. They arrived on the 3rd on time and in a company vehicle with the companies name on it and not a plain white van. They parked, got their shovels out and starting working. I was very impressed because they were done digging and breaking 20ft of concrete by noon. By the end of the day they were half way done. The owner and his 3 guys are very very professional respectful and some hard workers. They completed the job on the 4th after I added some additional work but I must add even then they didn't say no and respectfully said sure no problem with a smile. I have to admit my wife and I are very very extremely happy with the work and the service. They are very organized and very clean. They patched up all the concrete that they broke and put all the dirt and grass back. We are also very pleased with them because they wore their masks as a safety precaution inside and outside. I can honestly say that this company, MEDINA'S PLUMBING SERVICE, is a legit and very professional plumbing company. I highly recommend them like I said in the beginning and their prices are very reasonable. Thank you MPS for your great service beginning with the young professional lady answering the phone and scheduling the work to the owner who is very respectful and explains everything in detail to the 3 hard working gentlemen that were here with the owner.
