OK. I wanted to give a big mahalo for the work that Daniel, Dave and Gabriel did last week (but a special thanks to Melanie for her packing skills). Dora and I own the "Miracle House" on Front Street in the ash zone. This crew came in and emptied out our house and took it to where are now renting in Lahaina. It was a very long day but the crew did it with a smile. Melanie was amazing wrapping the long stem wine glasses, we ran out of packaging material (my fault), but she used yoga mats and not a single glass was broken. They were nice enough, but the one problem I had was that the 2 strong men wouldn't move a piece of heavy furniture for my auntie because of insurance reasons and also said that they would need 4 people to move it so they refused to move it. Then, when they got to the new location, they wouldn't t move the furniture into the new place, they left it on the first floor and basically left my 70 year auntie to deal with it. The "too heavy" piece of furniture is getting loaded into a truck as I write this review. One man and one woman were able to get it out and into their truck no problem. 6 hours late!!!!! My appointment was at 12p on a Monday, they didn't show until 6p. I wanted the heavy furniture moved first and depending on time the rest. I could bring boxes on my own. It was so late and in the middle of the night it just needed to be done since we had to be out of our house the next day. They were in too much of a hurry as it was dark out to wrap or protect any items. Therefore....Items got damaged! For the inconvenience and waiting 6 HOURS for them to FINALLY show up I asked for a discount as now my family & children are moving in the evening through the middle of the night (They didn't finish until 1 or 2a, so my kids missed school the next day). I was given no discount for their poor business. I understand it's tough times. I run a small business as an independent stylist and in such circumstances you have to bit the loss for the client, that's good business & ethics. There is no excuse for very poor business ethics. I have was charged $1,400 for their services. 6 hours late...I should have just canceled. A good business would have given something for the inconvenience. I am very happy to have picked this company for my move. Daniel is easy to reach, hardworking and caring. He was able to give me a slot in his very busy schedule on the day that I needed. He told me that I might have to wait longer for them to start based on when the prior job finishes, and that was the case, but I had been warned and prepared. There was a problem during the move with a large fridge not fitting our narrow staircase (we are on the second floor without an elevator). Daniel and his crew found a solution, and they stayed pleasant and gracious through the whole process, no matter how hard it was for them. My wife and I had just moved to Maui less then a day and had filled a 10x10 uhaul with a couch bed and boxes. We were exhausted and had made the decision to see if we could find someone to help since we were too tired from all the travel then gathering furniture on top of that. I spoke with Daniel and he was super nice! We called them last minute and he was able to call 2 of his guys Jimmy and David over to help! Both of the guys were super friendly and moved it all into the apartment in less than an hr! They even gave us a hug before they left! I highly recommend them! Mahalo! read more

This company is a total scam. I booked our move three months in advance. On the day of our inter-island move our container was available at 7:30 a.m. This moving company did not show up until 2:30 p.m., one hour before Young Brothers closed for business. They did not have enough help which required me to assist the owner and his movers. I was overcharged on this day as well as over charged again for a van this company also used to move another customer. Some of our furniture has been damaged which they did not tell us about. Additionally, to top off the horrible service we received some items that belonged to U-Haul were put in their private vehicle without my knowledge. Owner claims it was "mistake". However, the items were clearly marked in big letters UHAUL. Had the stolen items not been discovered I would have been charged a large amount of money by U-Haul because the items taken are U-Haul property and not mine nor Safe Movers. The owner of this company misrepresented his company services as well as the amount of time he has been in business. He has made other untrue statements flavored with many excuses. We have demanded a full refund of all money paid to Safe Movers. However, the owner told us "You cannot bleed a stone"! This is the most unprofessional moving company on the Planet! How can you run a business with only $3.36 in the bank? A Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs complaint has also been filed. Beware! Scam! read more

I own a gym in Kona and often times I ship equipment inter island. I called Safe Movers to help me with this. These guys were by far the best moving company I've used ever. There attention to detail and professionalism was far and beyond anything I've experienced in Hawaii. If you are planning a move please do yourself a favor and call Safe Movers. I really wanted to leave a positive review about Safe Movers because the owner is such a nice guy, but I really did not have the greatest experience with them when I was moving from Maui to Oahu. I hired them to move my stuff to the port for delivery. They were available last minute for the move date and sounded very nice and professional on the phone. The first thing that went wrong was that they were supposed to get my stuff delivered to Young Brothers on Friday for the Friday barge. They missed the barge, but assured me that it would be delivered on Monday for the Tuesday barge. Come Tuesday, I was told several times that my things were on the way, however when I called Young Brothers they did not have a delivery under my name. After a lot of phone calls and stressing about where my things were and whether they were missing or stolen, I finally got confirmation that they actually had NOT been delivered yet to Young Brothers and were in storage. Finally I was told that my things would be delivered by that Friday and come the following week to Oahu. Once my things came, I was told by the movers on the Honolulu side that my desk and my dresser were damaged. They also noted that everything had been thrown in the crate half-hazardly, which was probably why my dresser and desk were damaged. The final straw was when I noticed that a very expensive leather reclining chair and foot rest were missing. I notified Safe Movers and they said they had "forgotten" to send it. To their credit, they did deliver it and pay for the delivery on Young Brothers, however I had to find help to pick it up on the Honolulu side since I didnt want to hire movers again. Like I said, I really wanted to write a good review because the owner of the company is very nice, but it was actually a very stressful experience. It was also very expensive considering how many mishaps there were and that they were not honest with me about where my things were at all times, and "forgot" to deliver some of it. It was double the cost of what the movers in Oahu charged me to pick up my stuff and deliver it to my new apartment, and the movers in Oahu were much more professional. read more
