They performed testing on my home after sustaining smoke damage during the Eaton fire. They then refused to share the results with me, despite me informing them that my family was already moved back into the home and that we need to know whether the home is safe. I encourage you to ask questions when you get a quote for asbestos testing. They quoted me one price (about $1000) but then the test showed trace amounts (which their lab says is the most common outcome). Then to get a definitive answer about if abatement is required they require an additional payment of close to $500. My disappointment is that they did not mention that this was a possibility when they quoted the price, and given that the trace result seems to be common I suspect this is deliberate. I appreciate businesses that are upfront and transparent and don't recommend them for any asbestos testing you may need. read more

Updated: This company sent me to collection because my insurance, who they contracted with didn't pay them fast enough. After I paid off the whole balance with debt collector, safeguard Envirogroup still accuse me of "balance not cleared". What they are doing is not legal. --------------------------------------- Shady company. Regarding your part 2: CALL YOUR DEBT COLLECTOR ASK THEM IF MY BALANCE IS CLEARED. I have the receipts from your debt collector for all 3 collection accounts you created on me. Debt collector told me they have notified you when I made the payment. You lying on public platform? If you're saying after the $2000+ | paid, it's still not settled in full, we need to bring a lawsuit. It was such a mistake that I allowed myself to interact with you and the company. PEOPLE please learn from my lesson - you DON'T have to accept the vendor your insurance send to you. Since you want to discuss the whole situation: Mine was a subrogation claim so no policy limit per case. Safeguard reached out to the wrong adjuster even tho I have provided them contact info for the subrogation adjuster. In our state we have 2 years to settle insurance claim. But guess what did Safeguard do? Put me into collection and ruined my credit - since it's so convenient, instead of working with insurance company, who hired them to do all the work, while the insurance claim was still pending. Or have a little patience to wait for the subrogation to settle, which happened 12 months after my house flooding incident. Safeguard doesn't care about ruining your credit. They don't care that you're in the hardest time restoring your house. Simply because it's convenient for them to put you into collector, they don't want to spare the effort to talk to the right insurance adjuster. Did I mention they even marked up the due amount 15% to debt collector? How is this not shady? Good luck hiring them. Work out payment plan with you? I called your office and was told it's sold to collector so you can't do anything. Funny you have the time to respond here instead of working with insurance company who you contract with on your payment. My balance is cleared. Don't pretend to be a reliable business. On 2/12/2023, the Safeguard field rep came to the house to conduct asbestos and lead testing. He was courteous and professional. However, he was at the house for a maximum of 15 minutes and I was charged $495 for a "Survey Field Charge". He chipped three 1" x 1" samples of kitchen floor tile to test for asbestos ($120) and a lead paint survey ($200) for a grand total of $815... for a 15 minute visit. On 2/19/2023 the rep returned to take additional tests for asbestos... approximately 10 minutes this time... Field Service Charge and Asbestos Samples for $615. This was under a water damage claim to my insurance company who, in the end, no longer covers pipe leaks. So, as companies will do, they charged inflated insurance prices for minimal effort. Since the insurance ultimately did not cover the damage, I'm left holding the bag to the tune of $1,430. This company is extremely expensive. Before retaining their services, negotiate the price to ensure you're getting the most bang for your buck. Otherwise, there are other companies available for about half the cost. The first invoice "due date" was 12 February (invoice 44-34-397ASLD) and the second 19 February (invoice 44-34-588AS). I received both invoices via email last Thursday, 18 May at 1:41pm and 1:43 pm, respectively. For the sake of accuracy, the site visits were on 13 January and 20 January 2023. Even though the invoices were months late getting to me and your terms are NET 30, as of today, both have been paid. Regarding your pricing, I can understand the lab testing costs as they are in line with most testing costs, whether those tests are medical, environmental, or engineering. It's the ~$500 site visit charge that I take issue with. I, too, am a business owner. I own and run a successful maritime services company working both nationally and internationally. Our clients include energy (oil, gas, off-shore wind), environmental, commercial ports and the Department of Defense. I vividly understand the overhead costs associated with running a business as I own and operate research vessels, unmanned underwater equipment, and employ highly experienced personnel with very specialized skill sets in a relatively niche market. However, in my business dealings over the last 17 years, I have never experienced anything close to $500 per quarter hour. The management group for our apartment complex had them reach out to us for an asbestos and lead test, and they were able to schedule us the next morning. The tech arrived within the estimated arrival window and was extremely efficient with his sample collection. He walked me through exactly what he needed to do, shared his initial observations and what he expected the results may find, and explained what the next steps would likely be. Safeguard visited my mothers house for asbestos/lead testing. They were quick, personable, and ready to answer any questions she might have. However, due to a miscommunication, an area that needed testing was overlooked. We were not made aware of this until a few weeks later when another contractor deemed further testing necessary. After speaking with Safeguard, they were gracious enough to waive the Survey Field Charge and proceed with the additional testing. Thank you Safeguard Envirogroup! read more

This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with for Emergency water damage. They are a part of SERVPRO. There techs came to our home and did nothing but put up two small fans to dry a ceiling wet from a broken pipe. They are all about the sale. Nora was pushy and demanded that I book a time to continue the work that was yet to be covered by Insurance. They charged the insurance company excessive amounts of money for repairs not done. The PPE charge alone was over $75.00 (if you looked at there masks you would know they haven't changed them in weeks!). This is why our insurance rates are so high! Companies that do below average work get paid by big overwhelmed insurance companies. Do yourself a favor and research another company! read more
