I would recommend for inspection/testing. I've dealt with other mold inspectors before, and Jeff was the most thorough - he checked everything (where others only checked places I asked them to). His pricing was also much more reasonable compared to other inspectors and in hindsight I wish we had done samples with him. He was honest and friendly and gave us great suggestions. read more

MLA is an awesome company to use if you are in need of asbestos testing. They are very responsive and will get the results, whether good or bad, to you ASAP. I was shocked when I found water cascading down into my downstairs bedroom closet. I went upstairs to find that my dishwasher was running and obviously leaking somewhere. I was worried about mold and called MLA Environmental, I was so relived when they showed up that same day and tested both upstairs and downstairs, where they swabbed the area and did an air test. I quickly received the results the next day and was thankful to hear NO MOLD. Everything was ok and more importantly, I would not have to rip apart my expensive cedar lined closet. They were not only professional and knowledgeable, they understood how nervous I was and got back to me faster than I could have imagined. They care and their price was very reasonable. After discovering a leak under my bathroom sink , and what appeared to be black mold. I started calling around to get prices, and learn more about mold inspection/testing. I found the people at MLA environmental to be most helpful and patient with answering all my questions. I found there prices to be competitive if not slightly lower than the rest. I was very impressed with how the inspector explain ed everything to me and I felt very secure with them. I also like the fact that they do not do the removal of mold. Some companies I called wanted to do the inspection and removal, which makes no sense to me. I'm not sure about some of these companies. Had a water heater leak into my garage and back wall. Contacted MLA Environmental I was able to make an appointment online and their website also gave me the cost of their service. Came out on time gave a very through inspection and tested the garage and closet under the stairs. The next day I got the results along with a written report detailing the types of mold and how much of each. Called MLA Environmental because of a musty smell in our bathroom from the recent rain but couldn't find the source. They came out and found water had leaked inside our cabinet on the ceiling and it looked bad! They assured me it could be remediated but suggested because of the age of my condo, along with the mold testing I get lead and asbestos testing done so that all the testing would be completed when I hire a remediation company. I appreciated that so I was ready to go. Within 48 hours I had a complete breakdown regarding the mold from the lab, a protocol of what to give the remediation company, the negative test from the lead and asbestos test and was good to go. It's really a bummer when you suspect you have mold in your house. I talked to several inspectors and chose Jeff because he sounded the most knowledgeable and customer oriented -- not to mention reasonably priced. When he inspected our home, he zeroed in quickly on the problem areas in our crawl space, saved us money by telling us what NOT to worry about, and delivered us a prompt report with lab results (bearing out exactly what he suspected) as well as actionable recommendations for how to remediate the situation and prevent it from recurring. He hooked us up with a very solid remediation company who did a terrific job getting rid of the mold and restoring the subsurface of our floor. Hiring Jeff was the smartest thing we did.
