My insurance company sent me here for a windshield replacement claim, after a small rock started a 6" crack across the lower left corner. Reading previous reviews, I'll admit I was a touch nervous, however that nervousness proved unfounded under current management and staff. They quoted a 2 hour time frame for the repair and it was completed within minutes of that time period. As for value, the windshield looks as new as the day I purchased the car, and they even removed & seamlessly reaffixed my annual state park sticker. All communication came at appropriate intervals before & after the appointment, and I've not been hounded for further sales. Would definitely recommend. read more

Service window 12pm - 4 pm. So made sure to take off work the end of the day to be present for service. 4 pm rolls around and no repair man. Called at 4:15 to see where they were (phone automation was also awful), they connected with the driver and he said, "sorry running behind, be there in 10 min.". 1 hour later and 90 min outside of the service window I called again, and they could connect with the driver because the store was closed for the day. 10/10 would not recommend... read more

I used to be a fan of Safelite until this past experience. Scheduled a day to have the mobile tech come out and replace my glass. Two days later I took off the day to have my glass repaired from a big crack. The tech came out at approximately 11:55am and my appointment was scheduled for the hours of 8 to noon. I met him in the driveway and immediately he stated he could not do the car at my place because it was a convertible and because of the cosmetic windshield garnishes which are brittle. I told him I took the day off, which in my line of work is quite a bit of money lost. He stated that they would have to do it at the store location in Apple Valley. I told him to make an appointment for me and it was agreed upon that I would drop off the car that evening and they would be able to do the car the next day because their technician had 40 years of experience. The next day I got a call from Matt the technician stating I would need to get new garnishes (surrounds) for the windshield because mine were already broken. Later in the day I called back Matt to get the number to talk to Brian the manager. Upon speaking with Brian, he told me they hadn't even started the windshield replacement because they didn't have the garnishes for the windshield. He stated they would try to get them from the dealer. I told him he was wasting his time and that Mazda is the only place you can get them now as the Fiat ones are no longer in production. Brian and I went around and around and I told him he was wasting his and my time by postponing doing the windshield due to no decorative garnishes being at the Fiat dealer. I let the car sit there until Saturday as my displeasure of Brian not listening to my concerns and picked it up from the lady at the front desk. She told me the garnishes were on backorder and they could be 3 days, three weeks, or six months out. I asked her if Brian checked into the Miata ND ones and she stated they will not fit my car and that the experience of 40 years from their tech said so. After really voicing my displeasure and making the statement that they were being like a tire shop that wouldn't fix my flat because I didn't have a matching hub cap, I left with my broken windshield. Fast forward one week. I ordered the exact replacement garnishes from Walser Mazda in Burnsville and the three pieces of garnishes were overnighted from Chicago, and in my hands the following evening. Today, my windshield was replaced with the new garnishes in my driveway, zero issues by a local shop and all of it went through my insurance without a hiccup. The incompetence of the lady at the front desk, the tech with a supposed 40 years of experience, and especially the Manager Brian was next level. I haven't had such a terrible customer service experience in years. And in the end...this customer was exactly right and now I have a driveable car again. Thanks for nothing Safelite. read more

Took them over 3 hours to install a simple windshield (after being told it would take 1). There was confusion if I had glass insurance and while I clarified this my bill was immediately sent to collections. I was bounced to several different phone numbers and waited on hold every time just trying to pay. I was never given an option to pay online. This place is a joke. Do not recommend. read more

Absolutely abysmal. This was hands-down one of the most frustrating, incompetent service experiences I've ever endured. I submitted a service request online, which required my VIN to even proceed. I entered it, scheduled the earliest available appointment--ten days out--and thought I was set. But no. That same day, I got a text asking for my VIN again. Fine. I sent it again. Then, just 36 hours before my appointment, I get a cryptic text: "Sorry you cancelled your appointment... click here to reschedule." I never cancelled anything. No explanation. No courtesy call. Just a passive-aggressive text telling me to start over. I called their 800 number, which was its own special kind of torture. Their phone system is a labyrinth of useless prompts designed to keep you from ever reaching a human. After more than ten minutes of button-mashing frustration, I finally got someone on the line. Her explanation? "We cancelled your appointment because we didn't have your VIN." Are you kidding me? I gave it to them twice. They couldn't be bothered to double-check or pick up the phone--they just nuked the appointment and expected me to wait another two weeks. This isn't just bad service. It's a masterclass in how to alienate customers with laziness, poor communication, and a total lack of accountability. Avoid at all costs. read more

I can't help but give just three stars for Safelite Autoglass since it took them three different times to install my windshield correct. 1st attempt(Apple Valley, MN location): As soon as I picked up my vehicle I spotted right away that both side moldings were not installed correctly. There was a 1/4" gap between the molding and the window. Not sure if the technician just tried to pass off a bad job and hoped I wouldn't notice. So I rescheduled to have it fixed. 2nd attempt(Minneapolis Mobile tech): The service tech they sent out spent about 30 min doing a rookie job, he just used double sided adhesive tape to stick the side molding to the frame of the vehicle. Of course it popped off right away as soon as I did a test drive. I wonder if he thought this was going to last through a Minnesota winter?!! 3rd and final fix(Owatanna Mobile tech): I finally had a very experienced and knowledgeable technician do the job right. Right away he said he could tell the job was previously done wrong. he had to remove the entire window as well as all surrounding moldings. The three stars I rated are very generous with my experience, which were given only for the service tech from Owatanna. I do have to add, even though it took three times to get the window replacement correct, the customer service was very good from the AppleValley location. read more

Insurance company recommended this location for a glass repair job. (Rock chip with a couple of short cracks 1/4" - insurance company said "as long as damage would fit under the space of a dollar bill" it could be repaired. Our damage easily fit under the size of a quarter). We were turned away at our appointment saying it couldn't be repaired and windshield needed to be replaced. I personally dropped in the following day to verify since I couldn't be along the day before. The individual at the counter was a dismissive jerk. Wouldn't even get out of his seat, rolling his eyes, and trying to talk down to me. He called making that repair "bad metrics"... (I have had 2 windshields successfully repaired in the past with the exact same type of damage). I asked for his name (Johnathan Jones) and asked for the manager. He said he was the acting manager and nobody else was in. Sorry, this was a VERY POOR representative for Safelite, and certainly not someone who should be dealing with customers. I'll research today to find the district manager, completely unsat behavior! read more

Had a scheduled appointment to get my windshield replaced on my 2011 Corvette Grand Sport on a Saturday. My appointment was first thing in the morning at 8AM. I was told when I got there that it would take 3-4 hours to replace. So I then leave to come back later. Was called shortly after saying that they did not realize that my corvette had a removable roof. (Which increases the difficulty) But they did not have any technicians on hand with the experience to perform this. So I was then called by the Manager (Kathy) to maybe reschedule it. She told me she would follow up with me on Monday. But I was never called back. Overall I didn't enjoy my experience. So I'll probably go to a different shop. read more

mirror was not attached correctly so it was impossible to see out of or use, the hood was not closed and came up on a busy highway, I had to pull off into ditch to get out in busy traffic to shut the hood. wow! this could have been much much worse than a simple glass repair. could have caused a horrible wreck on a major freeway. read more

While everyone I dealt with was very professional and pleasant, the first time they came out to replace my windshield, they had ordered the wrong glass, so couldn't do the install. After having to wait again for another week, they then brought out another wrong windshield from their shop! So, had to wait again for him to go get the right one. After final installation, there remains a filmy smear embedded on the surface of the glass right in front of the driver's line of vision. Waiting again to see if they can remove it. Not a very efficient operation. read more

I had a great experience with Safelite in Apple Valley! Even during the pandemic, I was able to get scheduled for an appointment within a few days. I had tried to fix a small crack in my windshield (less than a quarter-size) with a DIY kit, but the resin didn't fill into the crack. When I came in, they took care of the crack and did a practically seamless job! It only took about 20-30 minutes for the fix. What used to be a visible crack is now invisible from the outside, and very faint from the inside. I'm really glad I came here! read more

Scheduling was quick and easy. It was about a week out which was fine with my needs. Arrival was on time, replacement was executed quickly, excellent communication about the appointment and what exactly was to be done with things like toll transponders, mirror hangings etc. The tech even went the extra mile and cleaned off my dusty dashboard for me while the windshield was out and it was easier to do! Aftermarket windshield replaced on my Buick. All done okay. Only gripe was how filthy dirty the inside of the windshield was afterward. Had a difficult time cleaning it afterward. Windshield should be clwamed by installer after it has been installed. read more
