In mid May 2026 I had a tech from the North Ave., Bridgeport, CT Safelite come out to replace my front windshield. He was kind, courteous and things proceeded like when I've used Safelite in the past. They followed their mandatory process of removing the wiper arms and broke my wiper transmission linkage so that I no longer had a driver side wiper arm that could be put back on. The tech snapped the screw thread coming out of the spindle rod, and in its corresponding nut. I emailed store manager, went to the store, I spoke with Safelite's customer care department, but they continued to deny liability. They said it was due to prior wear and tear and that "someone else did something wrong." All kinds of excuses. They were trying to blame my mechanic who replaced the wiper motor five months before when my wipers worked fine for five months through heavy rain and snow until Safelite worked on my vehicle. Please note the technician worked on my car for about 24 minutes, before showing me the snapped screw in the spindle rod and its corresponding nut. He never advised me of any problems with the wiper linkage prior to that. I got an estimate to replace everything by my mechanic and it was going to cost $476. After not getting anywhere talking to the store and their customer care department I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They continued to deny any responsibility for their damage. Safelite left me with an automobile that was not legal or safe to drive for weeks, so eventually, I bought the part myself and after much personal labor I fixed it. I offered to close out the BBB complaint if they would reimburse me for parts, tools, and a fraction of the labor I had to put in for much less than $476. They still denied any and all liability. My advice to anyone is to take pictures/video before Safelite starts work on your vehicle and maybe stay with the tech while he works on your vehicle. I will not use Safelite again. Yes, I know it sounds like a lot, but after what I've been through I will not use Safelite again especially their Bridgeport location. read more

My wife and I had an appointment at Safelite in Bridgeport to replace our car windshield at 11:30am. When we arrived, we had indicated that we would wait for the car. We were told that process would take between 2-3 hours. We had indicated that would be fine as long as the car would be ready so that we could pick up our granddaughter at 3:00pm. We were told that would not be a problem at all. Subsequently, it took one hour and twenty minutes before the car was taken to be serviced and we didn't get the car back until 3:50pm...four hours and twenty minutes from when we brought it in. Although the technicians and receptionist were friendly and capable, the manager, Tanya (sp?) was nasty and disrespectful. read more

Why is it so complicated to get in touch with the store through telephone, to drop your car off for hours and want a simple update is ridiculous especially when your spending $1,000+ for a windshield replacement plus recalibration. It's unbelievable to have such a lack of respect for someone's time , money , and concerns. What do you pay the receptionist for if I'm on hold or waiting for someone to pick up for 10 minutes and still counting. Getting a run around for answers but not excepting the run around for my hard earned money is poor customer service. I will never use Safelight ever again. read more

Unfortunately I experienced another mishap, this time it was my front windshield. Initially I went to another provider to do the job but after getting their quote I would have had to come out of pocket for a considerable amount. I then went to Safelite and they did the job with our having to come out of pocket at all. Moral to the story: no need to shop around stick with Safelite. To top it off the staff was great! Jasmine took care of replacing the glass and she was a Rock Star. My appointment was for 2:00 and I was out by 2:45. I seriously thought it would be much longer but she did an amazing job. Safe to say if I ever need any other glass repair I will be sticking with Safelite. read more

My car has been nothing but trouble recently and I really did not want to go to my dealership to get my windshield replaced so I decided to go through safelight. So glad I did! This is my second time getting a windshield replaced here and I couldn't be happier with the results. Making an appt was very easy online and I entered my insurance information and they were able to give me a quote right away. I had an 8:00am appt and my car was done by 10:00am. I opted for text updates and received a call when it was done and ready for pickup. Staff here is very friendly and answered all my concerns. Would definitely come back here if I have the unfortunate luck of replacing a windshield again! read more

I had my back slider replaced by them and it leaks. I've tried multiple times to contact bpt location and can never speak to anyone. I also tried emailing them and heard nothing. I guess if you don't have any issues it may be a good company but they have horrible customer service. read more

This review is based on my initial service. Trash... That is one word to describe my horrible service. The technician came on time great there's the one star. But upon her arrival she said.. oh I'll have to see if I have your windshield in my car -.5 , why the hell are you at my house without a windshield when you know you're servicing my car. Anyways.. she fidgeted for a while looking at the car in and out .. cool I guess that protocol,and the job took forever. Sigh.. Okay the windshield is on.. don't drive for at least and hour .. she taped up my car with with masking tape and asked me to remove it the next day. So an hour past I get in my car and .. look at that, the parking permits are gone including my town sticker. I ring her .. and she says she will leave it at the location in Bridgeport to pick up. Excuse me ..what? Well that's inconvenient. -1 The next day I tried to get the stupid tape off and it was stuck because the weather was really warm.-.5 Then.. I looked and looked at my car and hmm.. why is the weatherstripping on my windshield all messed up? Ugh.. -2 Anyways customer service was super nice and came back twice 1 to fix the gaps and bring me my parking permits. The guy who came was so nice. Second because my damn wipers was banging and hitting the side bar which was so annoying, gave me a damn headache driving to and from places in the rain. It's so strange to me how this company advertises to get new wipers and conveniently my wipers started acting up. Whatever I'm done. I'm just annoyed. read more

I came to Safelite to get small but annoying divets in my windshield fixed. Wow, I was impressed! I had an appointment and they took my car in right when I showed up. I stepped out to make a phone call and before my call was even done my car was already back out front with the two divets gone from my line of sight. Everyone here was courteous and very professional. My insurance company sent me here, but this was my second visit and I would definitely return on my own for future repairs. Great job!! read more

Had my daughter's windshield replaced on a one year old car. Every time it rained, the car was flooded inside. Tried to contact Safelite every way possible- 10+ times on every venue - ZERO response. Turns out that they never properly installed the windshield near the dashboard. Car may be ruined. NOT ONE PERSON HAS CONTACTED ME OR EVEN RETURNED A MESSAGE. Made an appointment for them to come to my house, it unfortunately rained so we had to reschedule. We ended up going to the office to have the windshield replaced and everyone was very nice, but the new windshield had a scratch right in front of the driver's area. After speaking with someone on the phone, they arranged to come back to my house and replace the windshield again. Pedro came and did a great job. My car had a crack in the windshield. Covered through insurance. They sent a tech to my house who explained the repair would leave a slight blemish and gave me the option of having it replaced. I was glad they warned me ahead of time. Since insurance covers it I had it replaced. I had to take it to a location for the replacement but it was easy and convenient and I got a quick appointment. I had service to my car done on 4/23/2023. They were supposed to replace my windshield. The first tech that arrived spent a few hours trying to replace window. He said he had the wrong windshield & that it didn't fit. While trying to get the work done he left my interior filthy & scratched the piece that hides the wires on the front mirror. The 2nd tech arrived and completed the job -- saw the mess & scratched mirror piece. He cleaned ip the car and promised to order/replace the part that was damaged by the first tech. Its been almost three months and I'm yet to hear from anyone. Its been a rat race between safelight and the management at this location. I've called more time than I'd like to say --- no one has done anything to rectify this situation. Unbelievable, poorest customer service ever! Perhaps this review will prompt someone at this shop to make good on this situation. I tried to post this but it forces you to give a star rating - So because of that I'm picking one star. Somehow my previous review got trashed. Good thing I had a copy of it. Here's that review again with current updates. Rear window of 2020 Mazda CX5 was completely shattered by a tree branch. Geico insurance pushed us to Safelite. Positive:  The process to schedule an appointment was very easy.  Safelite sent emails for each step. Technician came to house as promised. Technician was very friendly and knowledgeable. He removed almost all of the broken glass.  He replaced the rear window within 1.5 hours. Negative: Drove the car the first time after replacement the next day. Rear window is wavy and very difficult to see out of. Google search indicates this is due to either very poor quality replacement window or incorrect installation (take your pick). In addition, the technician broke a clip on a panel he removed to replace the window so it is no longer flush. I have another "warranty" appointment on Monday Aug 9. I wonder if Safelite will try to explain away the waviness and the broken clip as inconsequential or if they'll stand by their warranty. I'll write another review after my appointment. Aug 10th Update:  I had my warranty appointment yesterday.  Tech arrived on time.  Very nice.  (Very high marks to Safelite on quality of their employees.) I explained the rear window is wavy and difficult to see out of. He cleaned the window (which did not fix the problem). He was able to see the defects in the window causing the waviness. He also saw similar defects in the replacement window he brought. He said he would place an order with Geico and Safelite for an OEM replacement window.  I'll update this review as things progress. Aug 12th Update:  Still waiting to hear back from Safelite re. an OEM replacement window. Aug 13th Update:  Never heard back from Safelite.  I contacted the Safelite Bridgeport location (who replaced my window).  They knew nothing about the last tech ordering a new OEM window.  The rep gave me a number to call.  I called the number. They knew nothing about an OEM window.  They forwarded me to Warranty Dept.  Warranty Dept. knew nothing about an OEM window.  The rep I spoke with gave me her name and promised that she would look into my issue and call me back on my cell phone before the end of the day.  I never heard back from her. Aug 16th Update: I still haven't heard back from Safelite.  I'll call them again today. Aug 17th Update:  Still didn't hear back from Safelite.  I called their 800 number again.  The rep quickly found my info. He forwarded me to customer service. She checked and said there was no order for an OEM window replacement. She said she placed the order and scheduled a tech to come to my house on Monday August 23rd between 8-Noon.  I'll update again if anything happens. Aug 23rd Update: New technician arrived at my house as promised. However, he brought another replacement window (not a Mazda OEM window as promised). He looked at the replacement window and saw the defects. He said it was because the window was made with too much curvature. He said the window he brought probably has the same defects so they will order a window from Mazda. He said it will take 2-3 days to come in. He gave me his card and number and told me to call him directly if I had any problems. I'll update again. Aug 31st Update: No update from Safelite since Aug 23. I called their office number.  It rang 20-30 times, then disconnected. I'll try them again later today. Aug 31st Update: The last tech who came to my house left me his business card with his cell phone number. His name is Christopher, and he is the only person who actually answers the phone. He said he would speak with Jackie who would call me back. Jackie never called me back. Sep 1st Update: Still no call from Jackie. Sep 2nd Update: Still no call from Jackie. Sep 3rd Update: Still no call from Jackie. Sep 7th Update: Still no call from Jackie. I tried calling every number on Christopher's business card. No answer on office number. The 800 number was disconnected. I called Christopher on his cell again. As usual, he was the only one who answered. He gave me two number for his supervisor Gabriel. Surprise Surprise - neither of those numbers connected to a person. Sep 8th Update: I actually connected with Jackie. She checked with the warehouse and called me back to set up a new appointment. I asked if the window is a Mazda window like it is supposed to be, and she said no, it's an after-market window. I told her that is not what was ordered since three other after-market windows were defective. She said she would call me back. read more

I had the misfortune of visiting the facility to put it simply windshield was replaced and after re calibrations eye sight wires were completely out on the mirror in front it was a bad experience do not want to go back again to that location. read more

I had an appointment for 8am - 12pm to repair a small crack. 12:15pm rolled around and I have not received any update. I contacted an agent who then contacted my technician. The tech said he spoke with me and that he is late and won't be there till 2pm. I confirmed they had my number right and I never received a phone call. Then 2 rolled around and still no one showed up or contacted me. I called again at 3:30pm trying to find out what going on. The agent then said the tech is in traffic and will be another half an hour. I ended up canceling after that because I have waited around long enough on my Saturday weekend. Only reason for two stars is I have had better customer service at another location in Florida a little while back. read more

Stopped by today to have rearview mirror attached. Used kit from auto parts store and held for one day. My mechanic highly recommended Safelite. Walked in and taken immediate in for fix. 10 minutes later, all done. Tech and receptionist was courteous and friendly. Excellent experience and $10. Would absolutely use them for any glass repairs in future. Time will tell if mirror will stay on however, they fixed it immediately and great service read more

What an absolute nightmare. My car is less than 2 years old and now I have crappy trim because according to the technician said "It's how he put the glue in" and "the best he can do." The replacement came with a far less nice version of the rear view mirror and they wouldn't let me keep the one from my other windshield and put it on the mount for the replacement -- a weird hill to die on given it's allegedly the same. On top of this, they tried to cancel 5 minutes before because of rain. No one earlier made any mention of rain being an issue. They knocked $50 off for my complaint. That won't fix the trim on my car. No offer to send another tech to fix the glue and trim which should be a given. read more

First guy who replaced my rear window had no clue. The window was put in crooked, he left a ton of adhesive on the roof. After I complained a second guy removed and refit the window. The adhesive cannot be easily removed and the roof will need to be sanded and repainted. I've spent hours chasing around on this. The Safelite is paying for the repaint and rental while the car is in the shop but what an HUGE PITA. Go somewhere else, having them come to me certainly did not save me time and aggravation. read more

Service non existent. Made complaint to Geico. They brought the wrong windshield and now I have to wait until next week with several cracks in my windshield. They tried to tell me I ordered the wrong part. They don't care at the branch and their corporate office dosen't know how to deal with the public. I will admit that my voice sounds horrible right now because I AM SICK WITH VIRAL BRONCHITIS. Crybaby at corporate kept telling me to "stop yelling at meeeeeee". I was very angry at first but now I think it is sort of funny. Maybe I should whisper next time so I don't offend anyone. We will see what happens next Saturday, hopefully they figure out from the VIN what windshield they need. read more

Had to reschedule once due to clouds? They misquoted the wipers but did credit me for the miscommunication. The wipers squeak and leave streaks and I submitted a warranty claim and then they did not show up for the appointment to address the issue. No call or attempt to fix it. I called 3times finally get a call back 2hrs after only to be told "l'll come tmrw in am" . shows up complaining it's too cold, told me to get space heaters for garage and wait 2hrs. Terrible, had to wait a week just to get an appointment. They would only tell us between 8am - 5 pm. They called the day of the appointment (after I rented a vehicle for the day to get to work) and then told us it would be sometime between 3-5 pm. At 4:45 we received a call saying they couldn't make out and the soonest we could get another appointment would be five more days. This is totally unacceptable. read more
