I had placed an online appointment for a windshield replacement at my place of work back in April when the windshield was damaged, but my sticker wasn't dead yet. So I kept pushing the appointment out till closer to expiration. I rescheduled a couple days ago out till end of Oct. then I wake up to an email saying I've been refunded my money in full and the appointment was cancelled with no reason as to why. I call the number, speak to a Safelite rep, she calls the garage and we speak with the shop manager. He proceeds to lie about when my invoice date is when I was looking at the email stating JULY 31 NOT JULY 28. Lied and said a technician was sent to my work and knocked on the door multiple times with no answer when the building had multiple people in it till 3:30 so we would've heard knocking and the door wasn't locked, so I'm not sure exactly which building he went too but it wasn't mine. Mind you my appointment was 8-12, nobody came a knocking. Then the manager says "we're only allowed to keep the glass for 30 days so really we're not supposed to keep pushing the appointment for that long." That's a YOU problem, if you know your company policies, stick to them. Nobody made me aware of that fact or I wouldn't have rescheduled as many times as I did. All this to say, I wouldn't use this business if it was the last damn place in the state. I was using them out of convenience of my work schedule, but they're overpriced and liars. read more

How are the people leaving reviews actually getting appointments and the glass they need for the vehicle provided? I've been trying to get a back window replaced for a federal vehicle (work vehicle, I just schedule the appointments) and have had to call and provide the VIN # twice and finally got an appointment scheduled. They were supposed to meet the field tech on Wednesday between 12pm-6pm, because waiting 6 hours for glass repair seems normal (?) and then the shop finally calls the field tech around 4:30pm that afternoon, after he didn't go out in the field to conduct research because he wouldn't have service and didn't want to miss the call. The shop told him they don't have the glass in for the 2023 Nissan Frontier, it's really hard to get that glass, (why, it's a 2023 Nissan?) so he doesn't have an appointment because they don't have the glass. Been trying to get this resolved for over a month! I just get transferred from one place to another. Corporate in Ohio didn't care either and offered to transfer me to the shop. She couldn't get a hold of anyone at the shop so told me to call them back later! We are a university and have a tax exempt account set up with Safelite. I guess they don't care how much business they lose because they have not tried to resolve the issue or do anything to make it right. I've dealt with Safelite in Morgantown, WV with no problems, but the Charleston, WV location has to be the worst run location I've encountered. I guess I'll wait until the vehicle is back in Morgantown in a couple weeks. Hopefully that can get that rare 2023 Nissan Frontier glass here and actually complete the repair I've been trying to get resolved for over a month. Also, corporate gave me a completely different phone number than I have called the last 3 times I've spoken with them. Horrible customer service, non-existent actually, can't answer any questions and don't seem to care they can't resolve the problem. I guess they don't want the business. You would think you would want a good relationship with the largest university in our small state, but apparently not. Do better. I will never use Safelite in the Charleston, WV area if needed again. Heck, I didn't use them this time either since they can't do the one job they sell themselves as doing-replacing auto glass. I don't know why I'm calling back since we don't have an appointment scheduled anymore. They must have canceled everything when they told my tech they didn't have the glass in. Safelite installed a replacement windshield in my car about a year ago. A couple weeks ago, while adjusting the mirror, it fell off. It took a chunk of glass with it. I scheduled warranty service at the Charleston, WV store. Shortly after dropping the car off, the manager confronts me, telling me that it was clearly knocked off. Refused service. When I explained what happened, he looked at me and said "that didn't happen." They installed cheaply made glass, then provided cheap service. Avoid them at all cost. read more

I had a passenger window put in my trax Chevrolet today. The guy was respectful and friendly. The only problem I had was the glass that was on my driveway after he finished that he didn't clean up. I would think they would put a cover on the ground to catch the glass as he was working. read more

Had a front windshield put on a 2019 volkswagon tiguan sel. The tech fucked up our car and it will not start. He dodged the blame and hurried his ass away. Safelite has not bothered to resolve the issue even after calling cooperate. Terrible company and getting a laywer. read more

Technician's filthy hand prints ruined the interior!!! Drove through our yard and left ruts. Stay away from this company!!!! Update - Safelite in Parkersburg rocks!! They know what customer service means. Stay away from the Charleston store. The Parkersburg store didn't cause the problem but they were willing to clean up the Charleston store's mess!! read more

The warranty is a joke. Replaced our windshield after a chip they "fixed" turned into a large crack. Did not credit what had been previously paid when they replaced it. 2 weeks after replacement and having been driven twice, it cracks from the bottom of the glass on the inside. We hadn't even had a chance to get it inspected at this point. Called and they said it's under warranty, we'll replace it. When they finally arrived, they decided it was not their fault, obviously we had done something. NO ONE RODE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. Tech insisted someone put their feet on the dash or "threw a cell phone". What? Conveniently had a replacement in his van that he would change, for another $450 BEFORE all the fees tacked on. I'll buy a new car before I give another dime to Safelite. read more

Very poor service install my Toyota 4Runner rear window. After I left only take me half an hour I have to come back the rear window is falling down. Tell me to come back next day can not provide service and I continued to make appointments on website for 4 consecutive days each day from 12 pm to 6 pm And no service ever come also no tech ever call to let you know they will come to you. I call customer care they can solve the problem. The store manger at this location 124 Lakeview Dr. Charleston, WV 25315 Darren Vance, he is not take any responsibility told me go get the Regulator for my rear window and he wit charge me another $100. I complaint to him that he should not put the rear glass on he start said he done it by do me a favor, I told don't need a favor either fix it or refund my money then desire to tell me to leave and will not fix it. The Customers Care can not even tell him to fix it. Some one in safeties company need to do something your store manager is killing your business. I have used this place before with no complaint, this time was differen. I had cleaned up the glass from a break before taking it in to get the rest removed and replace. when I got home I noticed they did not clean up any of the glass they removed from behind and under the seats. not the type of service I have come to expect and especially for the price. poor performance read more

They were quick and efficient in working with my auto insurance and scheduling a repair appointment. The waiting area was large and clean, and office staff were efficient and nice in dealing with signing the "permission to do the work" and the "disclaimer." It only took about forty minutes to repair the windshield chip and I was on my way! read more

An excellent experience overall. The store was very clean, personnel were so courteous and professional. The wait time was shot and the finished job of repairing a small crack in the windshield right in the middle of the drives side, of course, come out all most perfect. Most of the time I can not even see it. The price was $131.00 plus tax and I paid cash for the service. I also picked up 2 spray cans of Safelite Auto Glass cleaner for $5.99 a can which is the best for a clean like new windshield. Now the bad news, I could not call my local Safelite store on the phone, I drove to the local store (18 miles) at 4:00 PM without an appointment and they were gracious enough to work me in. Setting up an appointment by ONLY a computer is ridiculous. Hey Dick heads, this is WV not LA or New York City. About 30% of this state does not even have broadband internet service. Many of our people here in West Virginia would NOT know a computer monitor from a TV. I would guess many people in our state could never use safelite for these reasons and will choose a local competitor that has a phone you can call and talk to a person. I raised hell with the manager at our local Safelite store, about this problem, he agreed with me and said, "sir I hear this everyday", but said we have no say in the administrative decision. I could only guess Safelite loses hundred of million of dollars each year because many people are not computer literate, even have a computer or many do not even have broadband internet service. I almost gave up on Safelite and went somewhere else that had a phone and could talk to a person. But glad I used their service as the out come was excellent. read more
