Booked my at-home appointment on Monday for Tuesday morning to replace cracked windshield. Justin notified me he was enroute, arrived as scheduled, explained the prices and got to work. Completed the task timely, verified all electrical connections were functional including forward facing camera. Communicated well, delivered a properly installed new glass windshield. Safelite technician showed up to my house. The technician mentioned to me to look over this glass, because it had an imperfection in it. Of all places, this blemish in the windshield was in my line of view. So, I refused to have it installed. The technician called his manager and responded to me that they will order another glass and reschedule. A couple days later, they showed up to my house w/ that same windshield w/ the blemish. It was obvious they attempted to buff out the imperfection. So once again I refused to have it installed on my car. Then they told me they will order another windshield from a different supplier. A few days later they showed up. This other windshield had an issue. It was obviously from a cheaper supplier. When you held up a flashlight to the glass you could obviously see the spiderweb glare. I had this same issue on a different vehicle of mine, and the night time vision w/ oncoming headlights is very distracting with that spiderweb glare. So, I refused the install of this windshield. Then, I requested an OEM windshield. They arrived and installed it. It did cost me over double my deductible. But after the install, I inspected the job. The top trim was all buckled. The technician mentioned to me, "Ahhhh, that's the best I can do... You can file a warranty claim..." and left... Afterwards, I discovered the technician broke one of the A-pillar trim pieces that is inside the vehicle. My sensor for the intermittent wipes no longer works. I have tried several attempts to get the warranty work done. I showed up on a Saturday morning at their shop. 5 minutes later after taking my car they called me into the shop to inform me they had to order additional parts and would contact me. I never heard a single response from them. I have attempted several times with the Apex, NC location. On my last communication with them, the assistant manager literally told me over the phone "I've read the notes of your conversations w/ Brett the manager and we done all we can at this point." I mentioned to her "i've never spoken to the manager Brett, and the only other manager I ever spoke to was Jeff (who no longer works there)".. This assistant manager, Sivilla is her name, mentions to me "we cannot help you" and then hangs up on me. I tried calling back and they would not answer the phone. I couldn't believe this is how a corporate run company treats customers... I WILL NEVER use this company again for any window replacements. Tesla windshield replacement-immediate recalibration issue- bad service process for correction appointment- not before 4 days. 1/2 a**ed effort to clean the glass- haze and streaks throughout. Avoid them if possible. read more

A very rude manager, they do not care about you nor want your business. Expensive to replace a windshield and they do not fix anything they break in the process of replacement. Better have good insurance if you wanna try your luck here. read more

I had a good experience with Safelite. They replaced my windshield as promised within the time frame of my appointment. They even transferred the little stickers from my old windshield to my new one, which was unexpected and a big help. read more

On October 11th 2024, a technician visited my home to perform a scheduled auto windshield chip repair on my 2021 Tahoe. After attempting to repair the chip, the technician told us that the car was too hot and that he knew he shouldn't have attempted the repair which led to a new and approximate 12" crack across the windshield. The technician apologized for the error and told us that his manager would be calling to get the windshield replaced. After waiting three days with no calls from the local Safelite office, I spent an hour on the phone e attempting to get through to schedule an appointment for replacement. I was able to get this done but was shocked to learn that the $0 repair turned in to a $670 replacement due to the technicians admitted mistake in working on the windshield in the direct heat. A garage was available for use but the technician did not use it. Another hour or more was spent speaking to various Safelite customer service agents and "local office" personnel attempting to figure out why I was responsible to cover a windshield that was damaged by the technicians admitted mistake. I spoke to local office manager "Sam" who accepted no responsibility or empathy for this error and told me it was "only $670" through my insurance with a $1000 deductible. The way this has been handled, the lack of accountability, responsibility, and concern for these actions is mind blowing. Safelite has offered no other suggestions other than "paying the cost of the replacement as they are not responsible for any damage caused by no fault of the technician". Multiple attempts to explain the technician admitted responsibility, were met by a manager who didn't care. BBB response was simply, they are not responsible and therefore not refunding any money. read more

The person (lady) answering their phone has a terrible attitude, doesn't want to or doesn't know how to listen, and imo couldn't care less about you as a customer. Awful experience, lacking any clarity of information, not doing the repair they are being asked and paid to do. She acted like you, the Customer are there for her, and that she is doing you a favor by answering the phone. I will never step foot in this place and can't imagine that this person has not cost them tens of thousands of dollars in business. Lack of communication is bad enough, not doing what they were asked and finding out at the last minute is worse, but this attitude by their 'face/voice of the business' to the customer, leaves a lasting 'first and only' bad impression. Car windshields are a key safety device, if she is any indication of the type of quality you will get from this particular shop, you should at a minimum go to a different safelite location or better yet find another company altogether. I have informed my insurance company, who btw recognized this lack of customer focus by this company. All I can really say is I'm pretty blown away at how bad this whole experience has been. I took my vehicle in to have my windshield replaced, which which they did. Communication was pretty poor, but anyway drove off in my vehicle with my new windshield. I immediately heard a very loud flapping on top of the vehicle and upon further examination found where they failed to replace and secure the rubber seal properly around the windshield, I returned to have it fixed and some guy wheeled it around back threw some glue on it and wrap the top layer in tape. With no direction on when to remove the tape, I left the tape on for a couple days. I removed the tape to discover that the rubber gasket was ever sealed. I return to the Safelite location and one of them to take a look at it and fix it, the lady who help me said no we will just do a complete reinstall but they can't get me back in for another 10 days or so. Meanwhile, I will have to rent a vehicle for my upcoming trip and probably just park my vehicle until they can get me in again, it seems to me that not securing the proper gaskets and weatherstripping would be a fundamental and basic principle of window reinstallation but hey, what do I know? If you were looking to get your windshield replaced, you may want to look at other options in the area as I wish I had done. I really can't be any more dissatisfied with this process and let alone the time it has taken to deal with this. read more

This was actually the worst experience I have ever experienced with anything dealing with my car. I have driven back and forth (30 minutes away) to this location five times because they cannot seem to do anything right. First, they came to my house to change my windshield and there was a huge scratch, to which my dad declined and resceduled the appointment with a different windshield. I then went to the store for them to actually change it, and yet again, there was a scratch on the new windshield that they "didn't notice was there until after the application." I then went back for them to change it again. Luckily this one had no scratches, but they completely broke my sunvisor off in the process of changing it. After days of calling to schedule an appointment and no answer, I went to the store for them to tell me they would just call me to schedule. A few days later, I went back again (for the fourth time) for them to fix my visor, where I got back in my car and it was still hanging off and completely broken. They then told me they were "unable to make an appointment for me to come back," to which I assured them that I needed my visor fixed regardless. I then went back A FIFTH TIME for them to finally fix it and now everything is done (hopefully). I do not understand how you mess up this many times and do not even offer any compensation. I still had to pay $100 out of pocket which is absolutely insane for the service (or lack thereof) that I have recieved. I am a very busy college student with very little time and very little gas money to have to drive back and forth five times in one month for a process that was supposed to take one trip. I honestly hope to never deal with Safelite again. read more

I never got updates during service - they came flooding in 3 hrs AFTER I got my car back. One update said the car wasn't drivable until 6pm - I picked it up at 230pm. I gave the guy my credit card but turns out he never ran it. They kept calling but my phone would ring once or twice before they hung up and they never left a message - so I naturally thought it was a courtesy call and I didn't call back. Turns out, they were trying to collect the payment they didn't take when I gave them my card and now they want to take me to collections because I supposedly didn't pay. The manager wanted me to pay over the phone- obviously not happening since they already mishandled the info. He says I can pay online but I can't. Turns out when I cancelled an appt for Monday that I didn't schedule (and I even put that as my reason to cancel), I cancelled something they did to reopen the case so I could pay? Would have been nice for them to at least leave me a message to explain that. The manager still can't make sense of any of this for me. Why should I be responsible for thier negligence? I will pay when I am given a secure option since I am not shady but I will never use SafeLite again! Watching my statement now for suspicious charges... read more
