I arrived here at 1pm on a Monday afternoon for a scheduled appointment to get my windshield replaced. I made my appointment online via claims portal with my insurance company (Gieco). After I was checked in, I was told to hold onto my keys and that a technician would come and get my keys from me. I went and sat in the waiting room. There were 2 other people also waiting. There is about 10-13 chairs, a TV, and a snack area in the waiting room. For the snack area, they have a coffee machine, sodas, and a basket of variety snacks. At 1:02pm, I heard the front desk make an announcement to someone that the 1pm is here. My technician came at 1:04pm. He told me it would be about a 3 hour wait but would try to see if it would be closer to 2 hours. I ended up going for a walk on the greenway that's close by. At 2:30pm, I received a call that my car was ready. After getting the call, I headed back. I checked out with the receptionist to pay my deductible since my insurance covered the rest. I was told not to wash my car for 2 days. The technicians and receptionists were friendly. Service was prompt. I have no complaints! read more

I scheduled an appt for 1:30 pm on a Saturday as my car has a sensing system in the windshield. I stayed in the waiting room while this was being completed. At 4:24 pm I was told that they couldn't get the calibration working and were on hold with support. I was disappointed because they waited until the 3 hr mark to communicate anything. I was there for almost 4 hrs. I was not happy and then when I got in my car the plastic that goes around the sensing system wasn't installed properly! The reason I gave 3 starts is because my windshield does look good and the individual that helped me did apologize when i was leaving. Safelite do better, this isn't acceptable! read more

We have a preowned Audi we purchased recently in perfect condition and this is verifiable. Safelite in High Point came to our home to repair the front windshield, but it was still visible. They returned to replace the entire windshield. While they were replacing it, they destroyed the fabric covering under the sunroof. We have only had this SUV for a few weeks when they replaced the windshield and it was garaged all that time as I hardly use it - it's a backup vehicle. We knew it was them who destroyed it as it was working before they came and we checked everything before we left the auto dealership, it was spic and span, very clean. Found out few days later, the fabric came loose like he was looking for something underneath it with dirty finger prints on the fabric and we never touched that roof! No reason to. The cost to get it fixed as we checked around? $1600 - $3000. They will not accept responsibility. Before this, we had our Volvo SUV's back windshield replaced and they forgot to attach the electrical defroster! Which made it very unsafe for us to drive as we could not see our rear view. Don't use satellite auto glass. It's cheap and not near OEM quality. I have had to replace 4 windshields on my Lexus in a little over two years. First windscreen my auto wipers kept going off no no reason at all, manufactured glass defect . Woke up to another crack for no apparent reason. Warranty at safelite told me a small impact caused it. Not buying it not for glass this expensive. I debris hit the windscreen, cheap glass! No more cheap glass. Lesson learned. read more

These people DO NOT KNOW how to calibrate a Mercedes. Maybe they don't have the right equipment. Said there was something wrong with my cameras. I took it to the Mercedes dealership, they looked and couldn't find anything wrong and then calibrated my Mercedes no problem. read more

This review is for Safelite in general and Safelite in Jamestown, NC. Safelite caused damage to my vehicle and is now refusing to pay for it. The first mistake I made was calling Safelite in the first place. When they replaced my glass, they caused damage to the 'Rain Light Condensation Sensor' a $700 repair. After Safelite replaced my glass, I immediately began receiving fault notices from the vehicle (a 2022 BMW) saying there was a problem with the sensor. My second mistake was assuming this error message could easily be resolved with a simple software reset from the BMW dealership service shop and since I had an appointment already scheduled with BMW for routine maintenance, I figured I'd just take care of everything all at once. After BMW inspected my vehicle, they told me the rain sensor was damaged and asked if I had had new glass recently installed. BMW said they see this often and that they were, and I quote, "1,000% sure this damaged was caused by Safelite." The BMW service rep made this comment with me and the Safelite representative (Charles) on the phone. I had to get Charles from Safelite on the phone myself and merge him in with the BMW rep because Charles couldn't seem to reach the BMW rep on his own. The third mistake I made was hoping Safelite would be responsive. I had called Safelite on a Friday to notify them of the damaged they caused to my car but wasn't able to reach anyone and had to leave a message. The weekend came and went without a call back which I understand but when Monday morning came and went without a call, I began calling Safelite again. I finally received a call back from Charles at Safelite Monday afternoon and gave him the BMW rep's contact information. Charles was going to contact BMW and then get back to me. It was my BMW rep that contacted me close to 5PM saying he hadn't heard from Safelite. I then called Safelite again, got Charles on the phone and then patched the BMW rep into the call. This is when the BMW rep said he was 1000% certain the damaged occurred when the windshield was replaced. Charles from Safelite said he was going to look into it and get back to me. The fourth mistake I made was figuring Safelite would stand behind their work and certainly would do something, anything to repair the damage they caused, right? Wrong. The next day I spoke with "Mike" from Safelite who told me Safelite would not do anything to remedy the situation or the damage they caused. Mike pointed out that I was outside the 30 days I had to notify them of any damage. Mike also said that the dealerships often say that damage such as this was caused by them and that they (Safelite) have no way of knowing what else may have happened to the vehicle. In that brief statement he cast aspersions on both BMW and me as being untruthful, as if this was maybe a conspiracy against Safelite. I offered to bring the vehicle to a different shop or to them, but Mike refused both pointing out I was outside the 30 days to report any damage. Listen folks, don't bring your vehicle to Safelite unless you want them to damage it, give you the run around then leave you with a broken car. This was a mistake I will never make again, and I strongly recommend you don't either. read more

They turned a 2 hour windshield into a 5 hour job. They knew that I was waiting and no one has checked in with me to let me know why it's taking so long, they don't seem to care. Update: When the technician finally delivered my keys to me he told me that the technician who was working on my vehicle was fired on the spot. Apparently he was having a software issue and was in a fight with another employee. I'm updating my review based on the last technician who seemed genuinely sincere and because I could see that he was doing a lot. My contention is that management should be watching the progress of a job and checking in with customers. read more

Safelite turned a small ding on my windshield into a massive headache. Instead of doing a simple repair, Tyler smashed my windshield that cost me a 250 dollar deducible. He didn't even get to the repair and never even apologized in texts and voicemails. The manager had the nerve to tell me that this was the risk of doing a repair... I scheduled an appt to get a simple nick fixed on my windshield. my insurance company was covering the cost of the repair fully. I arrived to the appt early to check in and the gentlemen working at the front checked me in and asked to see the car to make sure it was repairable. so I walked him out to show him the two very small places that I needed repaired. should've been an easy and simple thing. He proceeded to go into this long speech about how he couldn't be fully confident that they could repair it without fully cracking my windshield. I said "I'm sorry what? it's a small nick. There should be no chance that you ruin my windshield when your fixing that" And he just continued saying it over and over again and then said "you don't seem so confident t o leave it with us to repair so you could always wait" putting words in my mouth. I said "no I was confident until you started telling me there is a chance you'll ruin my windshield" It seemed like since I was a woman and not paying him lots of money out of my pocket that he truly didn't want my business. My husband took his truck to the facility in Greensboro because it was close to his job. They took the truck back into a bay and worked on the windshield. They fixed the windshield and he drove back to work. As he was walking by the truck he saw a long dent that ran from the passenger side door to the back door. He contacted safelite and they never contacted him back. His truck had no dents anywhere on it before his visit to safelite. read more

UPDATE may 13th : I WENT TO ANOTHER LOCATION AND THEY SAID MY WINDSHIELD DONE AT THIS LOCATION (highpoint) WAS NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY WHICH IS WHY MY SAFETY FEATURES WERE NOT WORKING.MY WINDSHIELD WAS NOT SNAPPED IN!!!! I WILL BE REPORTING THIS LOCATION TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST ! It has taken them MONTHS to fix my cracked windshield. 1st excuse was the wrong windshield was ordered. They ordered a 2022 instead of 2023. Then after waiting 2 weeks for the new part they then tell me "this part came damaged". Then after waiying WEEKS MY THIRD TIME BACK they tell me they couldn't recalibrate it and spent all day doing it which my car sent me an alert at 3:21pm saying my safety features were turned off (I DROPPED IT OFF AT 9am) so not sure how true that statement was that they were "working on the recalibration all day" then said I can come back FOR A FORTH TIME for them to fix it.... ABSOLUTELY NOT. Then on top of all of this I get attitude from the girl answering the phones here when I asked her if she could make sure the correct part was ordered (because this would be my third time back) and she said "they go by the vin" which I stated yeah they did last time but still managed to order the wrong part soooo... Disclaimer: I'm a little biased with Safelite. Like not in a good way. They fixed a ding in my vehicle and I thought it was the end of everything. Then a crack appeared from the "fix". Now that did annoy me, mainly because I've had different vehicles fixed by different services, and they never left what Safelite called a cosmetic mark, that apparently wasn't "cosmetic" (since a crack appeared from it. Basic structural physics. That was the mobile service. Nothing wrong there except for the so-called cosmetic ding and crack that appeared from it But when I went to the actual Safelite place in the Triad (Gallimore Dairy) to get my windshield replaced due to the warranty (and I still have to pay the difference of the mobile fix + windshield), they had let their technicians go early because "it was a slow day". Before the place was closed? And over an hour early? What's even more amusing is that Safelite's customer service keeps calling because I'd complain about them on Twitter, but not a single person offered to comp the windshield due to the poor customer service. So they're "responsive".... but not that great in the CS department. Currently I'm letting my windshield crack until it won't pass inspection. Then I'm going to use my "lifetime warranty" to get it replaced, and I'll probably never use their service again.... unless they screw up the windshield replacement too (then I'll have to go back). read more

This is the second time I have had to use them. I couldn't have asked for better service all the way around. First I used there on line site to set up my service. It was supper easy to do. Made my appointment for this morning. I was called by 8 am and the tech named Sean called me soon after that. Sean showed up right on time and I had to run to a meeting. He was done with my car within twenty minutes or less and was gone. I went out after work to inspect the work and it was perfect. On the 11th of February, I had an appointment for one of your technicians to come to my home and replace a cracked windshield. I was told we would need to reschedule in the middle of my time window because the technician had called out sick. We rescheduled for the 25th to have the work done at your facility. As I was pulling into the parking lot, I received a call that we would again have to reschedule because my car's windshield had not come. This was odd since you had it two weeks prior, just no technician. So we again rescheduled for you to come out to my job on the 11th of March. Then again, I was called to be informed that the technician slammed his finger in a car door, and we would have to plan for yet again another day. After letting the customer service rep know I was unhappy, she called me back to tell me she found another technician and he would be at my job around 5. Here it is, 6, and I have not seen a technician nor received a call. This is ridiculous, and I'm outraged at the shit show your company has going on. They are pretty professional here for sure. I had my windshield replaced from a chip that took a year and a half to turn into a crack. Then a week later I had another large crack. I looked at the mirror and noticed the wiring harness to the the backup camera was pinched between the mirror and windshield which put stress on the windshield. It was cracked at the mirror location. I took it back and the technician told me it had a chip that caused the new crack. I looked at it and didn't see any signs of a chip. When I asked him where it was he said, "I have been doing this for twenty years I know a chip when I see one!" I wish I had taken a picture of the "chip". read more

The website said the service might take up to 2 hours, but it only took about 30 minutes. My multiple experiences with Safelite have not been good. Several months ago the windshield broke on my truck. My insurance asked if it was OK to send Safelite to my house to fix it. That sounded good so I agreed. My windshield was replaced but a couple of days later it leaked during the rain. Safelite quickly agreed to return and elected to apply some type of adhesive to the inside of my windshield above the sunvisor, to stop the leak. That didn't work either. Safelite returned and replaced my windshield a second time. It doesn't leak but it looks bad because they left a huge gap at the top of my windshield. The original gap was almost undetectable. The gap that exists now is about a half inch and it looks bad. After three trips to my house and a bad experience with each of them, I elected to leave it as it is, but I now wish I hadn't. To their credit, they returned to my house several weeks later when the windshield in my car was struck by a rock. With the crack being small, they elected to repair the windshield. I am happy with that repair. I cannot recommend Safelite. It is convenient having them come to your house to fix your windshield, but my initial experience still makes me frustrated when I think about it. read more

This is my first time using Safelite. The service was amazing! A rock hit my windshield on the highway and I was referred to Safelite. So I decided to have it done mobile instead of going to the shop. I had Carlos and he explained everything to me before he got started. I thought I had to stay outside while he worked on my car, but he told me I could go back in the house and he would call. He changed my windshield AND vacuumed the front of my car!
