Steve the manager has 2 of the worst traits any employer could find in an employee. First he's completely incompetent and second he doesn't care. The level of stupidity by the people that work here could be a SNL skit. I was scheduled and tried to get a new windshield 4 different times. It was either ordered incorrectly; put on another vehicle; sent mysteriously back to warehouse; or just not there. This is after countless emails, texts and phone calls confirming the appointment and checking the windshield was at the store. I went up there 4 separate times only to leave 4 times with no windshield. Worst part safelite and Steve could give a crap. He might be the dumbest manager I've come across and doesn't understand customer service or how to begin to resolve an issue. I got a quote for a window replacement, and they told me it would be around $300 plus tax. That sounded fair, so I booked an appointment. But when I got there, I was told that the $300 was only for the glass--labor and other charges were extra. Okay, not great, but I was still willing to listen. Then they hit me with a total of nearly $900. I almost choked. When I asked why, they started listing all these surprise charges like a "glass recycling fee," "static recalibration," and other vague add-ons. At that point, I walked out. I ended up getting a second quote from another company who actually came to my job, did the full replacement, and charged me a realistic $279--total. No weird glass recycling fees or surprise add-ons. It's disappointing to see some businesses try to take advantage of hardworking people like this. Lesson learned. First, 5 days to get glass in for a common vehicle window. This was just crazy to me. Safelite called the day before install to verify time, location, everything. This was much appreciated. Second issue was calling day of install after you are already suppose to be on site to let me know the glass is still not in. Is this not something that should have been verified the day before? At this point I could have taken it somewhere but only went with satellite because I didn't want to risk driving it somewhere. When we dropped off our car for service....crickets. they say they will keep you updated during the replacement and let us know when we can pick up via text. Not one single text. Not one single call. We called the 800 number and they couldn't get in touch with this Location. But told us they closed at 5!! It was already 4:36pm and we live a good 30mins from there. When we arrived all we got was attitude. Oh i'll speak to the techs. No apology no real concern. This place is a fucking joke. It's nearly impossible for you to get to speak with a tech, and when you book your appt they reschedule you without notifying you. I had my car broken into and needed a appt, okay great. Thought that was all it was going to be. NOPE. I get to my appt on Monday, and they place the incorrect molding on my car, and I still had to pay. I still had to book another appt because I had to replace another window that was vandalized, and needed to get the chrome fixed on the following Saturday. I get to the Saturday appt, and they had changed my appt from 9 to 3 pm without notice, then told me that they didn't have the chrome part that THEY SAID WOULD BE HERE! So I'm having to make yet another fucking appoint with this place. Seriously get your shit to get her. This is the absolute worst fucking service I have ever received. read more

Had appointment to replace windshield at 6am last Saturday and was told that they didn't have the windshield and was told that I would a call back when the windshield and being that it's 5 days later I still haven't received a call back or at least an update. This was very inconvenient for me to get there at 5:45 am and to be told that they didn't have my windshield. This is an update to my review. The Humble Safelite is not a good place to get your windshield replaced. Took my Hyundai there for a warranty replacement. The glass was fine but the molding they use did not fit, not factory and too big to fit. When I brought this to the attention of the manager looking to get it corrected, instead of calling his tech out to look at it and come up with a resolution he instead made-up excuses for the poor installation and in fact tried to tell me that it was the fault of my car. I am 75 years old and have worked on cars all my life and his explanations were just not true. When I insisted that they make it right, he told me to leave or he would have me arrested for criminal trespassing. This manager is incompetent and tarnishes Safelite's reputation. After a massive rock chipped our windshield and caused a massive crack, our insurance worked with SafeLite to get us a new windshield in a timely manner. Because our vehicle has a lot of safety features, the camera has to be recalibrated after getting a new windshield. Although it took 2-3 hours from start to finish (right in the estimated time the agent told me when I was booking our appointment), Andre (the technician) did an amazing job. My husband was extremely pleased with how our car turned out, and it's so nice to drive without staring at a crack down the middle of the windshield. The staff was also friendly, and they give you a card with warranty information and lists what you should/shouldn't do the next few days. The next time our windshield needs to be repaired or replaced, SafeLite will be our first option. read more

Great and friendly staff. They explained all the details and procedures to fix the starting star chip, that happened on Hwy 59. Insurance was able to take care of the cost, which is a relief, if not it would cost 95 plus tax plus I am sure other fees. Rep mentioned the other details of what might happen during the process of fixing repair and it would still be noticeable. Will wait for outcome. Hope this is helpful to all. read more

Would not recommend. Took vehicle in to replace windshield. Couple weeks later the front seal on wind has come half way off. I called and set up for mobile tech to come out instead of me having to drive vehicle in. Later that evening after hours i received emails confirming my appt but it was no longer a moble appt. It had changed to me bringing in vehicle to their shop. No explanation. Called that morning and rep said they didnt enough crew for mobile service. I asked why was i able to make and confirm mobile appt or receive a msg that mobile was being canceled and offer either another time or date. I stayed home to work from home so now im going to have to work from home again the following day hoping they dont switch my service again without asking 1st. For what they charge above other similiar companies you would think the service would be top notch. Unfortunately i would not recommend Safelite. Its not the fact that the seal came loose. Got a chip in my windshield, they got me in even when I was late to my appointment and compete in 30 minutes! Courteous staff, efficient, and cannot see the crack from the outside. Still can see some from the inside, but not surprised due to the severity. Truly appreciate the work done, location was a little off to the side of the building so look out for that (right side). Thankful they were so understanding about my being late, my toddler had an accident when we were leaving To the appointment. Fair pricing, too! read more

Insurance covered a rock chip but the " fix " just made it worse. I've gone to those pop up repairs that are at gas stations and they've always been able to fix it without making it bigger to seal the rock chip. read more

I had a less than desirable experience at your Humble, TX location this afternoon. I dropped off my 2020 Lexus UX to have a windshield replaced. My car is brand new from the dealership, not even a year old. It had no warning lights on or issues prior to my windshield replacement. I was called to pick up my vehicle. I arrived at the location and was immediately questioned by the tech if my car had any warning lights on when I dropped it off. After telling him no, he proceeded to tell me that my Front Collision warning light was now illuminated, and they could not figure out how to fix it. He told me to wait 20 minutes while he called a "specialist". After waiting, they still could not figure out how to fix the issue and told me it was somehow my dealerships fault? Not sure how that is possible when the car is (a) new and (b) came in to Safelite without this issue. There was no other explanation provided as to how this could have happened and was told the "recalibration" was done correctly. I am not sure how that is true when my warning light is on and shouldn't be if it was done successfully. I then asked if it was my responsibility to now fix this issue cause by Safelite and was told "yes, just bring it to your dealership". I then asked to speak to the manager and one of the associates behind the counter introduced herself as such - Tanya Palm-Chatman. I expressed my concern and received no reply other than they wanted to process my deductible payment and give me printed paperwork. No apology, further explanation, or anything provided by the Manager. I am so disappointed in this location's customer service, especially when the Store Manager was present for the entire exchange. I then had to wait almost 10 minutes to be provided printed paperwork and the young tech escorted me to my car. It should have been the Store Manager to do this, especially when a customer is upset with subpar service. He again tried to explain how the issue wasn't caused by Safelite's service when there is no possible way that is true. I now have to take time out of my busy schedule to bring my car to my dealership and pay to have this problem fixed that Safelite created. How is that acceptable service? I am a pregnant mother and purchased this vehicle for its safety features and now the one that prevents forward collisions is no longer working - how is that safe to send someone home in? I need someone from the Corporate Team to reach out to me ASAP to resolve this issue. I expect Safelite to take responsibility for any costs associated with the mistake. I will also be reaching out to my Progressive insurance representative to report this incident. Edited to Add: Upon further inspection of the work done, I can now see that on top of the issues stated above, the tech also scratched the paint of my car in the area between the windshield and my driver side window. Ridiculous. 2nd Update: My dealership has confirmed that my camera wires were cut during the windshield replacement process. On August 21,2023, I stop by at the Safelite in Humble,Texas around 3:45 P.M. for assistance since the weather had been extremely hot, my rear-view mirror that was attached to my windshield had just fallen, as I found myself starting to also have a Vertigo Attack. The front desk reception was extremely professional as she assisted me by getting a repairman to also come and assist... I explained to him I was on my way home but I had to have someone follow me headed home...but my mirror had become detached which was unsafe. Mr. James was very professional as he recommended I take a seat inside and drink cold water while he assess my rear-view mirror. He was able to address the concern within minutes. I truly appreciated both the receptionist and Mr. J. for doing an excellent job providing outstanding customer service! Great team work!!! I love this company. They've saved me hundreds of dollars fixing windshields quickly before the cracks expand and become whole windshield replacement. This was my first time at this location, but probably my sixth time getting a crack fixed. Friendly customer service. Got a free coke while I waited. Took about an hour from me sitting down to getting my car back after two chips were fixed. Since they quote a half hour for a chip online, that seems reasonable. These repairs are always free under my car insurance, so definitely check that before you come in. Would definitely use this location again. read more

HOWEVER what i didn't like was waiting all day for a new windshield, i did all day drop off and they told me come between 7:30am and 10am. I dropped at 9am and am still waiting for it now at 6:30pm. They advertise quick and fast service 30 mins to two hours which i was quoted on the phone, i have things to do and i don't live near the shop so i had to catch plenty of ubers and have my friend who is pregnant take me, she had no issue with it cause they quoted us a specific time only to have us wait another hour outside. People have plans and other things to do than wait for a new windshield all day. read more

I had an appointment for 8 am to replace my windshield. I get there and the windshield is not there. I had to come back at 3 to get it installed so I missed a day's pay. I understand that things happen but this is the second time this has occurred. Last year I had the same exact experience except that time the windshield didn't come until later that week.
