Car owner beware if you use these buttheads. Insurance recommends them, but let me tell you, it's painful to deal with them and their lack of organization. The on site personnel we dealt with were fine, although you could tell they were frustrated with their back office, but we had one mishap after the other dealing with Safelite operations. From scheduling snafus to lost orders to finally showing up with the wrong part. What made it worse was each and every time they had an excuse - first it was the insurance company not sending a work order, then they must've received the wrong VIN, lastly it was the vendor who sold them the glass that got it wrong. When my husband gave pushback on them not verifying the windshield was the correct one, Safelite boy insisted it was the correct part for the vehicle and there were only minor differences. Despite the fact the windshield they showed up with was a completely different shape! When my husband said he was losing confidence that Safelite knew what they were doing, Safelite boy suggested we go somewhere else. Best advice we ever received! read more

I took my car to Safelite because I had a windshield ping that traveled. I made appointment and I was very fortunate to find that this location had my windshield in stock. Because most cars today are computerized, I had to take my car there so that they could do recalibrations if needed. The waiting area was clean with a free coffee bar and nice bistro tables and chairs. And they had free WiFi! My technician was very friendly and efficient! I was specifically concerned about a tollway sticker that had been affixed to my old windshield and I asked if he could salvage and transfer it to the new windshield. He indicated he would try his best, but advised they typically tear apart when removing. To my surprise, he was able to keep it in one piece and reattach it to the new windshield. My car was ready in about an hour. This is the second time that I've had to use Safelite for cracked windshields and they have always been fast, professional, and courteous. Safelite is top notch in my opinion and windshield replacements are covered under most insurance plans, so no cost involved unless you have windshield wipers replaced. read more

I can not comment on the quality of their work because no one showed up for my "Mobile Appointment" scheduled for 8 am to Noon as confirmed by Safelite via email. I phoned Safelite at Noon @ 844.250.6606 and was told by the Scheduler that my appointment was canceled the day before because they phoned and could not reach me for a second confirmation of my previously confirmed scheduled appointment. Extremely disappointing experience with Safelite. My windshield cracked Thursday night, so I booked the earliest available appointment for Saturday (1-6 PM) since I need to travel Sunday. I rearranged my entire day to be home and available. The technician, Lorne, confirmed earlier in the day, but around 4 PM he sent a TEXT (not even a call) saying he wouldn't make it due to a personal issue -- after I had already been waiting for hours. I contacted customer service, and nothing could be done. The supervisor, Alicia, simply told me to reschedule for next week as if this was normal. No urgency, no solution. To make it worse, neither Lorne nor Alicia even apologized. Last-minute cancellation, poor communication, zero accountability, and complete disregard for my time. Would not recommend. read more

Update. 26 August. From June 19th and on and on, 4 repairs/installs and still leaking. I offered to allow Safelite to refund me and let me have my $ to go to another glass business, but I heard nothing back from them. I finally initiated a chargeback, which i really do not like to do, but Safelite ignored me. I will also most like litigate this to protect me and the auto from any future damages to the electronics due to water contact. You let me down Safelite. My car insurance has windshield glass repair which is really nice considering I had a crack almost half as long as the whole front. Scheduling was pretty easy for this location. I did it through the website and then had to make a change which was done by calling this location. I came in almost at opening and was out in about 2.5 hours. They quoted me 3 hours and they started slightly behind, so all in all I found it okay. I had to wait here for my repair so the lack of wifi was a bummer. Staff was polite and my rep was super nice. He even put my stickers back on my glass. Do your research, ask the right questions, and you'll likely be happy with the service here. read more

Windshield replacement went fine. However, when I turn my fan (AC) on I now have a very obvious and significantly annoying rattling noise. Customer service told me the garage that sent the installer says this cannot be a result of the windshield installation. Very frustrating because the air intake for the fan/AC ducts is right by the left side of the windshield bottom. How can it be that I've put 103,000 miles on this car without ever having to listen to a rattling noise and after having the windshield replaced, the noise is consistent and loud?!!! Broken promises They sold me the windshield over the phone based on four monthly installments. They finished my windshield and then they bumped the whole thing right there. This is terrible because it wrecked me financially for the month for the moment. I would not recommend them to anyone based on their broken promise . I should have read the reviews before I came here. The overwhelming amount of one star reviews says it all, and here's another. The first time I came here, I wasted three hours in there lobby with absolutely no communication just for them to tell me I had to come back and that they weren't able to calibrate my car. When I returned the second time, I told them all of the information from the first time so that we could pick up where we left off and get a faster resolution. Here I am three hours later, again, no communication the entire time I was there and the exact same thing happened. They didn't listen they, didn't fix the problem, and now I have to come back a third time. While I was in the lobby, I saw other people who would definitely be adding on to the one star review train with frustration, waiting for 20-30 minutes when they arrived to pick up their cars that were "ready". Do yourself a favor and drive however long you need to to find another location or competitor. You'll save the headache and time in the long run. read more

Safelite on AC Skinner did a fantastic job our Tesla windshield replacement. They recalibrated the windshield camera and even provided a recalibration certificate. The staff is kind and courteous and very friendly. Even though we had to have it done at their site due to the camera recalibration it was painless and would highly recommend this shop. read more

I rock had hit the bottom of my windshield while on the highway. Dang it. I went into my Progressive app to file a claim to get it fixed and their default company is Safelite. I didn't have a problem with this at all. I DID have to schedule someone to come to my job to repair the star-shaped crack a week out. I wasn't happy about this but I felt that because where the crack was it would be fine for awhile. Scheduling was easy and I received notifications and service reminders up until Tyler the tech called me stating he was on his way. I met with him outside my job and he was kind and professional. He let me know ahead of time that because of the location of the crack there's a chance that an attempt to fill it in will cause it to spread so he gave me the option to try to fill it in or just schedule a replacement. I went with trying to fill it in. About 15 mins later, Tyler called me and I came back out to the car and he told me that when he was almost done a new crack started spreading so he stopped and at that point the windshield needed to be replaced. He scheduled it right on the spot and I chose the date, which was the following week unfortunately. He told me what he did this day will hold until it's replaced but if it spreads more give him a call. It didn't but Tyler called me a few days later to make sure that everything was ok. I appreciate that. I only found out recently about the overwhelming negative reviews of this place so going in I was worried about my fairly new car getting messed up by not having the glass properly sealed or my safety features no longer working. I received a call, an email and a text reminding me of my appointment so that's good. When I got there I checked in about 15 mins before my appointment. The tech came up to me at my appointment time and took the keys from me. I got a text 5 mins later that my windshield replacement was starting. I originally was going to drop it off but because they had WiFi I decided to hang around and work from there remotely. The job was going to take about 3 hours anyway. WiFi was working ok so I turned on my VPN and remoted into work and then it dropped down. They have coffee and water, vending machine, restrooms, and a tv in the waiting area. About 1 hour and 40 mins later I got a text saying that they were wrapping up my recalibration. They brought my car around gave me some tips on when to take my car to a car wash, and when I could put tint back on it, then I was on my way. I was waiting for the day that I would have leaks whether from air or water but so far so good. read more

I had a very small crack in my windshield, and attempted to have them fix it. All they wanted was payment, they did not talk about any risks. David, the technician made it worse, turning him in from a less than 1 Inch cracked to something over 2 feet long on my windshield. When I call the manager, Josh Madison, he was very flippant and rude, and told me to just go through my insurance. Even though the entire fault of having this 2 foot crack was because of their company not fixing things and making it worse. He seemed more hung up that I wouldn't pay for their attempted repair. More so, he put me on hold for over 20 minutes so he could deal with other things. That's the kind of customer service he and his team provide. I would avoid this company at all cost, especially given how rude management is. I would never use safe flight again. They attempted to calibrate my windshield. They replaced 4×4 different windshields waited over three hours each time. I went to the Acura dealer and they said that my camera is burned. This is why it's not calibrated. It wasn't broken till Safelite touched it and nobody will fix it over there. Nobody will call me. Don't ever ever go there. read more

Worst customer service ever... Had a confirmed appointment for a commercial vehicle at my home between 12-5 today. Got nervous at 3 and called Safelite. They said my insurance had not been verified... but after multiple conversations with my adjuster this week, I know for a fact that it has been confirmed and to save time I agreed to pay for the $1300.00 windshield out of pocket and be reimbursed by the insurance company. Was not contacted to say that my appointment had been cancelled or I would have made other arrangements. Tried to explain this to the rep but she stated that I couldn't do this. My truck IS my business. I'm supposed to head out for Texas Monday. My company nor my household will ever use Safelite again. Wednesday was the 4th appointment, and 1st one where tech actually came during appointment time, but said that he has 9 jobs and does not have time to remove windshield to check it. He said that other tech did a sloppy job, and did not tighten mirror. He called Dave, QC Manager, who told him to put painters tape over the leaking edge of windshield! And he wanted to drive my car while smoking. I did not approve taping. He didn't even fix the mirror, and said that I have to reschedule. He said that I will receive an email, but I receive only "We have completed your service!" However Friday a polite tech came with no appointment, and fixed the mirror FINALLY! but stated that tech damaged my seal/cowling and that it has to be replaced, but Safelite will not provide $300 part. Safelite notified me that they had the right glass on hand. I scheduled another all day drop off appointment. I was there at 8AM again to drop off the car. When I checked in, the receptionist told me that I needed to call my insurance company for approval to get OEM glass. I asked her what that means. She said, "OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer." I clarified that wasn't asking what OEM stood for, I was asking what calling my insurance company means in the process of my windshield getting replaced. She explained that if I wanted OEM glass it was more expensive so I had to call my insurance company to get approval. Everyone's favorite thing to do is call their insurance company so I did just that in the Safelite lobby. OEM glass wasn't approved. Shocker!! The receptionist explained I would have to pay the difference of $500 if I wanted OEM glass. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that and insurance company isn't going to willy nilly approve an part that is an extra $500 over the phone because the customer calls to request it. I went with the generic glass. I asked if this OEM approval is the reason why my windshield didn't get replaced last week when I brought the car in for my first appointment. She said that is possible. I found out after the fact from someone that works at a difference Safelite, that this process of calling the insurance company for OEM approval is supposed to be handled by Safelite. When you show up they are supposed to say, "Your insurance only covers replacement with generic glass. If you would like OEM glass it will cost an additional $X that you will have to pay out of pocket." They didn't have the glass on hand for my first appointment, I'm not sure why I thought they should have this part of the process figured out. At the same time, it seemed weird that I was on my second appointment but Safelite still didn't know what windshield was going to be installed in the car. They have a coupe of tents setup behind the building. They pulled my car around the back of the building around 10AM. I guess they use the tents as work stations if the inside of the shop is full. They left the driver side door and front trunk open all day long again. I wonder if they do this because they know Teslas have cameras and they don't want customers to see what they are/aren't doing. They started working on the car around 11AM. If they aren't going to have someone work on the car until 11AM, MAKE AN 11AM APPOINTMENT!! This is a complete disregard for the customer's time.They finished up around 345P and called to let me know I could pick up the car. I picked up the car around 430P. When I was in the lobby, there were two women at the receptionist's desk that wanted to speak to the store manager. A lady came out to help resolve the issue. The customers had the store manager' business card that said the manager's name was Alan. They reiterated that they wanted to speak to the manager. These upset customers were on there second appointment and some how the shop still didn't have the right glass. They were going to have to bring the car in a third time to get their windshield replaced. The manager never did come out to speak to them. I'm not there everyday and I don't know what Alan's schedule is. I would think the store manager should be there toward the end of the day as that is when most of the issue come up. I don't know the behind the scenes of how Safelite works. At the same time, if you don't have the glass on hand to do the work scheduled in an appointment, let the customer know. This isn't hard. Call them they day before and explain why the appointment needs to be rescheduled. This is pretty basic stuff that this shop seems to fail at regularly. My new windshield has been installed for about a week now. The craftsmanship seems to be good. We haven't had any issues. That's why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. read more

I scheduled an appointment to have my glass replaced and correctly entered my vehicle make and model, when they arrived they informed me they could not do it because of the frame of the windshield and would have to order the part. A month went by and they called to reschedule. Showed up this morning and said they could not do it because they didn't have the part. What a waste of my time. Got an adventure mark coming back home in January. Was able to make an appointment through my insurance company's ap. Received a confirmation text & email, and a reminder text & email. Showed up at my scheduled time, checked in with the receptionist, and Courtney my service tech came and greeted me within minutes. Full windshield replacement with a calibration for sensor. Took about 3 hours. Waiting area is larger than I expected. And much cleaner than other automotive service waiting areas. Free bottled water and free K-cup type coffee while you wait. Absolutely Terrible Customer Service - Avoid at All Costs! I recently had the misfortune of choosing Safelite in Jacksonville Florida for my windshield replacement, and I can confidently say it was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. From start to finish, it was a complete disaster. I scheduled my appointment on line and requested a OEM windshield replacement. I got a voice mail from the representative the next day wanting to confirm I wanted the more expensive OEM windshield. I tried to call the number back numerous times but did not get an answer or an option to leave a v-mail. The day of the appointment I got a call from a service tech, he told me I was on the schedule and literally hung up on me when I asked about the OEM replacement. I called the corporate customer service number, and the representative was incredibly rude and dismissive. She sounded like I woke her up and that I was bothering them by asking questions about the cost and insurance process. I told her I just wanted what I currently have, a OEM windshield not a cheaper one. She berated me and told me there is no such thing as cheap glass at Safelite. I told her I was not questioning the manufacturing or material of the non-OEM windshield, just using the price as a description to differentiate the two replacements. The conversation got so heated I canceled my order. Two of two Safelite representatives I delt with over the last week displayed a lack of professionalism and poor communication. If you value your time, money, and sanity, steer clear of Safelite. Save yourself the headache and aggravation, go somewhere else! read more

I had a chip in my front windshield directly in my line of vision on my '07 Pilot that I'd bought used. I made an appointment through my insurance company. I was contacted right before their scheduled start time and canceled due to the worker getting "dehydrated". I had taken off and arranged to be present....wasted day #1. The second worker shows up two days later and immediately starts asking if it's been leaking from the window. I've had the car less than a year and have chased all kinds of minor problems. It might have been leaking from the sunroof drain holes, the seam under the roof rack, or the corner of the window.....all common potential leaks on this model. After the kid had scored around the window and removed much black rubber material he informed my if he takes the windshield off and finds rust, he can't put it back on and I'll have to have it towed to a body shop for repairs before he can replace it. Who is going to give him permission to disable an excellent running vehicle with the chance that "company policy" leaves me without a vehicle ? So if he found rust and didn't put the front windshield back on the car......where was he gonna put it....in my front yard, in a closet, in my back seat ????? So potentially he'd leave my car sitting in the driveway with no front windshield, open to thieves, cats, rain etc....Why not put it back where he got it, on the front of the car ? I told the idiot to put my car back together and go. Wasted day #2 and wasted gas to drive it across town so he'd be under cover from rain and sun and had to buy black RTV to seal where he had gouged out material. This company services 80% of the insurance companies in this area (the loser tells me). They are obviously too big to care about a single elderly customer. I wouldn't take any car, ever to this pathetic company. Their company policy to not reinstall my window at the installers discretion leaves the customer totally vulnerable to having his/her vehicle left undrivable. This awful company's policy is Stupid on a Professional level. This is the worst example of bad customer service I've ever encountered in 64 yrs. of life. I had my Hyundai Kona front windshield replaced. The front office lady was very rude. When I walked up to the window, she seemed bothered. When I received my text that my car was ready. I walked up to the window and told her my car was ready to be picked up, she told me to take a seat. I watched several customers go to the window and ask for there car and it was ready and she handed them their keys. I waited for 25 minutes and my husband went to the window and asked:" what was the delay? She replied "sorry I forgot". Handed us the key and said go get the car. She never told us where the car was located.... We walked around the lot looking for our car. No one came to ask if we needed help locate our car! You need better customer service, more pleasant people in the front office. read more
