This is now my second time coming to this place because my insurance has a mutual contract with them or something so they trust them so I figured I would go again and not even a week later my glass cracked again and apparently this is something that they do cover when it's caused by impact. I was already hesitant to come back here because last time I got my windshield replaced by them I had to come back and get it replaced again since it was poorly installed and cracking from a stress crack. Not even two weeks after that, a rock hit it and it cracked and they told me they can't replace that without getting paid again (see previous review). Now that I go to get it replaced again at the same exact location, not even one week later a rock hit it and it cracked so I'm starting to think they must use some type of cheap glass that is not best because this shouldn't be something that I have to deal with every time I get my glass replaced and have to continuously pay more and more to them for. I've been driving for 15 years and never had this many problems with the replacement of a windshield in my entire experience until I've gotten serviced done at Satelite. read more

I would like to start by asking Safelite of Layton a question. How many rock chip repairs turn into a full windshield replacement? I bet if you look it up, an awful lot. Nice little racket you have going. Say a little disclaimer before the tech goes out to "fix" the chip. 5 minutes later the tech comes back in and says that the chip "cracked out" and now I need a new windshield. We had a windshield replaced in March and two months later it has a crack. We haven't had any rocks hit the windshield and there is no impact crater from a rock. They will not honor warranty to replace because they claim some scratches on the edge are a rock chip. Bottom line, they are going to argue that anything they see is a rock chip so they don't have to replace. It looks like something was damaged when it was installed. read more

Technician showed up on time and promptly replaced my windshield. After a few days of driving with my new windshield, I noticed rattling noises. Turns out the technician failed to reinstall the trim pieces, bolts and small plastics correctly so they fell off or are hanging insecurely. I've had to tape everything down to stop the rattling. read more

Im not satisfied with the service at Al, they didn't want to replace my window because of a little rust it was raining and I had to insist they put the window in so I could even drive my truck to find somewhere to take care of the rust, Ive had the window about a week and got a rock chip went back to get it fixed thinking they would do it cuz they say they guarantee their work but then they basically rape you on the price. $500 for a replacement windshield that cracked while parked on my driveway after two weeks. A technician came out for a "warranty appointment" and claimed I did not qualify because a tiny rock chip he found MIGHT have caused the 10" crack. If this is true the product installed is very poor quality. Now I'm out $500 and have a worse crack than before. Safelite warranty is useless if the installed product is crap. read more

The timeframe for the repair is always accurate for me or they do it even quicker than expected. Quality: Amazing at working on my car and the only guys I'll ever trust with windshield replacement. They check the whole car with you to make sure everything is the same when you get it back. Extra Mile: Anything ever comes up that they see that's off they keep you informed of right away. I went in with a rock chip repair. Within a minute of being in the shop a young technician came and got me. Said when he tried to apply the suction cup the crack broke out and spread across the windshield. I had driven with that chip for a week, got the car washed, got in and out of the car shutting the door all week with no crack extending from the chip. When he put the cup on it broke? Then they tried to up sell me on a new windshield. They quoted me $1113 for a windshield that they cracked! I got a new windshield replaced within a mile of their shop, with all the accident avoidance calibrations done for less than half the price Safelight quoted. read more

PARANOID!!!!! Ok first my service was fine. It was nice I could make an appointment online. My windshield was taken care of in a timely manner and staff were respectful. However, mask mandates have been down for a month and they are still behaving as if nothing has changed with COVID. They won't touch your keys or any part of your car untill they sanitize it. They return your car completely sanatized....well all "touch points sanitized". And masks are an absolute MUST. Come on!!!! When are business going to get back to normal? I went in for a windshield rock chip repair and I was immediately impressed, starting with the receptionist. Andy Ostler and Nick were very friendly and helpful and helped with adjusting a loose bolt that was causing a cracking noise as I lowered my window- something that I asked them to take a look at while the rock chips were being repaired. There was another gentleman who did the rock chip repair but I didn't catch his name. He thoroughly inspected my windshield and found another chip to repair. He cleaned all my windows and vacuumed the inside. I was very impressed with this Safelite location. The service doesn't get better than this! Thanks, guys! read more

NEGATIVE, HORRIBLE, and so DISRESPECTFUL. I had a broken windshield so Safelite was who I called. It was easy to schedule an appointment and convenient that they came to my work to replace the windshield. I got a text that Carl was coming. Carl told me to give him about an hour. I get the phone call that it's done. I go meet Carl outside and pay him. I got in my car to move it back to where it was and noticed on the right side of the interior window where the glass meets the interior fabric that Carl had left a HUGE grease looking smudge on the fabric. NOT HAPPY. Carl was still in the parking lot doing paperwork so I walked over to his window and tapped the window. He rolled down the window and said "Yeah"... I tell him that he left a smudge on the fabric he said "Oh yeah I saw that". UM WHAT!!!! So you weren't going to clean it?? I assure him that the spot wasn't there before he started. He said "I don't have anything to clean it with and we don't use grease". Pretty sure you use a black glue or something. He calls his manager and walks away so I can't hear. He comes back and says I might have some grease remover. He walked to my car opened the door and sprayed the grease remover on the spot. He started wiping the spot and it wasn't coming off. So he sprayed more and kept wiping. He wiped so hard and long that the cloth was now falling apart and was leaving purple residue on the fabric and dashboard. He then looks at me and say's "Is that good"?? UM HELL NO. I tell him would you spend $20,000 + and be satisfied with a mark like that??? he just looked at me. He called back his manager and discuss the issue. Carl tells me that they will replace the piece and that ANDY will call me back tomorrow. I have yet to hear from ANDY. I'm more than disgusted with this company and the lack of customer service Carl had. NOT HAPPY!!!! read more

Wow! Exceptional service! Called at 8:00 am and the technician was at my residence within 3-hours and finished the rock chip repair within 30-minutes. The Technician (Leeland) was very professional and explained the process and Warranty. my truck is barely 6-weeks old. I am so glad I caught this before a new windshield was needed. Saved the day! I was travelling from Colorado to Washington and got a rock chip on my windshield and it created a starburst. I stopped in Clearfield for the night and did research and at 5pm scheduled an 8am appointment for the next day. I showed up a little early and the staff was VERY helpful and professional and fixed my windshield in under 30 minutes. I was able to get back on my way in no time. Not very happy with the replacement windshield. I would have thought it would have had the tinted top like factory. My rear view mirror fell off when I was trying to adjust it. I only drove the truck 3 times since the windshield was replaced. It also looks like there is a hair in the glass. Kinda feels like a scratch in the glass. Haven't run my truck through a carwash yet to see if it leaks. If a mirror isn't tightened correctly, I am afraid to see if it leaks. Not sure I will use Safelite again. read more
