Scheduled an appointment online for Wednesday November 21st at 2pm. I arrived at 130pm an the place was crowded. There were 7 other customers there besides me. I wasn't hopeful for a quick repair. I had a small surface chip on my windshield and was quoted $120 to fix it. I checked in and was told it would take 30-45 minutes. I was skeptical. I left them my keys and sat in the waiting area. There were free drinks. The place was very clean, including the bathroom. I didn't wait long before I spoke with someone again. They had looked at the crack and determined it was a surface chip and they filled it for free! Wow, I was blown away. The chip area will filled with whatever jell liquid they use and looked good. Needed front windshield replaced. Made an appointment a few days away, and drove to Lexington. Arrived at 12:45, they had said it could take 1.5 to 2 hours. So we walked over to McD's for a snack. When we returned, it was done! Less than 45 minutes, as it was a simple installation on a 22 year old truck. From the time I made the appointment, I have received 4-5 emails, and 3 phone calls about the job, explaining everything, asking if I had questions, and instructing me on how to file an insurance claim. I brought my car in for a quote and received one ($330). I was told the windshield had to be ordered and would take two weeks to arrive. I scheduled the replacement. Two weeks later I brought the car it. They told me it would take approximately 90 minutes. I left and came back 90 minutes later. Then I was told it would be another 45 minutes. I left and came back 45 minutes later. The car wasn't ready. One of the employees told me the technician working on my car got distracted. 45 minutes later they pulled my car around. It looked great. Then they told me it was $800+. ?? They said they had to order a different and more expensive product. However, at no time in the 2 weeks from my original estimate did anyone call to say, "By the way.." When I dropped the car off, nothing was said. Nothing was said until they presented the bill. The tech said he would try to give me a discount and reduced the price to $550. That was great but still not what I was told. I paid the bill and left. The next day I called customer service and was told, "We will make this right." Since then, (over a week ago) .. crickets. Not a sound from them. read more

Had an appointment set up with a window of 5 hours to wait for them to arrive and change the glass in the car and they never showed up nor have the courtesy to call to explain why they couldn't make it. Then, I tried to call to find out what happened and they never answered , it's an automated system and it showed that we never had an appointment. Very disappointed. It was an insurance job, now I'll have to pay out of pocket, someone else to correct their incompetence. The tech was argumentative and management was too, after the tech got his feelings hurt. Used Safelite today to replace windshield on my SUV after a rock kicked up on the interstate. They arrived on time; had everything they needed for my car; completed the work in just over an hour; cleaned up all debris; installed new wipers & cleans the windshield. Great job! An added plus is that their software gives info on the technician, allows you to show where your car is (if in a parking lot or garage) , and immediately sends you a receipt afterwards. I made an online appointment last week to get my windshield replaced. Upon arriving, I found the lobby to be clean and the staff were available and ready to get my vehicle checked-in for service. I was told that I would receive a call by 5 pm to pick-up the vehicle, at which time I asked if it could be sooner. I was told that they would do their best. I dropped the vehicle off at 9:30 am and received a call just before noon stating that it was done and ready for pick-up. Safelite provided great service and the job was done properly! read more

I must Safelite was a life saver after someone broke my window and stole my purse. The incident happened on Sunday and my window was fixed by Wednesday. I left my car at 8 am and was called to pick up the car by 10 am. They fixed my glass perfectly and almost detailed my SUV to insure all the glass was removed. In an era where doing an average job is acceptable, these guys exceeded my expectations. I would recommend this company to everyone. Got to say I love these guys. They are the only ones I have ever used for my windshield repair. I've had work done at the shop and had them come to my house. Bother experiences have been great. I had a full windshield replacement today. They call before they come to give you a heads up and were actually running ahead of schedule today which was nice. It took him about an hour and a half and bam - new windshield! My service man that came out was very polite and called me when he was through so I didn't have to come back downstairs. Awesome job! Our van window was shattered after someone with a BB gun or a pellet rifle shot at our van as my wife was driving down our street. Safelite AutoGlass got our window replaced sooner than originally scheduled. Very professional and very efficient. I got a crack in my windshield and was referred to my local Safelite office by Geico's claims staff. They scheduled my repair immediately and the Safelite remote unit was at my car in less than an hour. They repaired the crack in less than 90 minutes, and then cleaned every window in the car and vacuumed the car out too. The whole thing cost only $60. It ended up that the repair didn't hold because of the high torsion on my car's windshield, so I went back to Safelite for the eventual replacement of the glass. They credited me the cost of the repair and replaced the glass within 24 hours. OK, it's not as complicated as a lot of stuff under the hood -- but this has been the best service experience I've had on any car I've owned. As much due to the service as the actual repair/replacement work that was necessary. Highly recommended. read more

He called me early in the time window to let me know where I fell in his lineup for the day, and then he tracked my car down in the parking lot on his own before calling to let me know he was ready. Excellence is becoming more rare in our world. I am pleased to report that Safelite AutoGlass on New Circle Road in Lexington has an employee, Bill, that strives to perform his craft with very high standards. I had a 1/4 inch pit in my Ram windshield from a rock pitched at me from a vehicle ahead on the interstate. I pulled over and applied an adhesive vinyl circle to the chipped area to keep the surface clean. Bill, the Safelite AutoGlass tech, told me he wished more people did that as it improves the ability for him to do a better job. He taught me that spraying anything on the defect in the glass is a really bad idea. He said to not put even Windex on it. And never, never put Rainex on the defect as it makes it seriously impossible to fix the crack. It repels the acrylic seal material which needs to bond to the internal glass to fix the chip or crack. Always carry in your glove box a vinyl patch, cellophane tape, or even duct tape to protect the site until a repair can be done. He did a superlative job. And he educated me. I am very impressed with the quality of service and professionalism received at the Safelite store on New Circle Rd in Lexington, KY. Even before arriving for my appointment, they sent me multiple reminders offering the option to reschedule if needed. After arriving, within 10 minutes a technician introduced himself, confirmed what needed to be done and gave me an estimate of 1.5 hours to complete the job. While waiting, I received text notifications when the job actually started and completed and was told it would be ready to drive after 15 minutes. Although the windshield was replaced in good quality and in a timely manner, there was a complete lack of service on dealing with my insurance company to get the windshield paid for. Never contacted my insurance company after repeated attempts at the insurance company contacting them and after being given the contact info for the person to speak with since they were having so much trouble putting it together. I had to wait a month to get in due to Covid and the wait list but as soon as I got there, my windshield was replaced and my car was ready to drive off the lot within 2 hours. They did great work, I had some glass pieces in my vehicle but not much they cleaned most of it out. While most of the technicians were professional, the overall experience was poor. They rescheduled my appointment 5 times, which is a tremendous inconvenience given I had to leave work every time. Two were understandably due to weather, but one was because the technician "was overworked that day", one due to them breaking the new windshield, and the other because the tech didn't load the right glass. Once it was placed, it was not sealed properly, I can hear a whistle and the floor boards are wet. This has created an expensive and logistical nightmare. Now if this was a mom-and-pop outfit, I might be more forgiving. But this is a national chain with a completely automated scheduling system and service protocols. There is no excuse for this ineptitude. I strongly urge considering another business for your auto glass needs. read more

After a fender bender, my hood wasn't latching fully (apparently) which I discovered abruptly on a Friday evening when the hood slammed into the windshield while driving about 45 mph. Thank God it was without injury, but it shattered my windshield! Safelite appointment was booked online, with (accurate) estimate given, ready to be serviced Monday morning. I was called early on Monday to confirm my appointment, at which time I explained my difficulty in dropping off the car, having transportation versus waiting for repair, and was told I could drop it off later, but the sooner the better. When I arrived to drop it off, a different person told me my appointment was for TOMORROW (Tuesday) and was fairly rude with me, honestly. But the person I had spoken with initially had given word that it would be done that day, so I would have it to use on Tuesday. So, even dropping it off with the rude lady who told me it wouldn't be touched until morning, I did receive a text notifying me that the vehicle was ready around 5pm Monday evening. Their staying true to their word, and the friendliness of the gentleman that I spoke with totally overrode the rudeness of the lady I spoke with at drop-off. I chose to not go through insurance and paid between $300 and $350. Looked great, warranty info and key left locked inside the car per my request for pick-up, and ready to drive to work Tuesday morning. read more

A while back had a crack in my front windshield and when I made it to the store the front desk woman I believe her name was Judith was extremely helpful with my problem and explained to me what they would have to do. After she promptly got me scheduled they got a new glass in the next day and replaced within the next 2 hours. My car was broken into about 3 weeks ago, a first for me, and I didn't even know where to start as far as getting it fixed was concerned. At the recommendation of Daniel at Import Auto Specialists, a good friend and trusted mechanic, I took the car straight to Safelite. My insurance company (Progressive) arranged to pay for the replacement 100%, and I was given a same-day appointment. After work I picked up the car and had a brand new window, easy as that! It doesn't get much better. A few days later I had a concern that something was mechanically wrong as the window was operating more slowly than pre-break-in, so I returned and they were willing to look at it right then, determining that one of three things were to blame: current weather conditions (cold, meaning hardened rubber/seals and labored operation), maybe factory vs. replacement materials (i.e. the new window is thicker than the original, therefore causing the slowed operation), or strained motor as a result of the force with which the window had been broken. The advised me to wait until summer to see if anything changed, and welcomed me to bring it back at any time with other questions or concerns. As an aside, they have a large waiting area with plenty of seating, a television, and complimentary soft drinks. Very comforting for people who are often in high-stress situations going in there, if I had to guess. And the desk staff was very personable, making conversation with me while I waited. Ok so I was very upset when I was driving and a truck flung a rock and cracked my wind shield on my new car . So I contacted my insurance and was then very pleased to find out they were happy to replace my windshield for Free ! So I then made an appointment with safelite to come to my home and replace my windshield! When the Day came safelite was to come fix my windshield it just happens to be raining and I received a notification from safelite that the tech had not shown for work that was to come service my vehicle, at this point I was once again discouraged. But to my surprise the customer rep that I spoke with on the phone was happy to work me in if I could come to their store . So I did so and was very pleased . It was a very clean store very professional and friendly . They did an excellent job and answered any and all questions I had .. Overall Very Pleased. Will be back and do reccomend. Here's the update from my less-than-happy review. My wife went to the facility and waited while they repaired the crack. It's better but the technician was "sorry" that he could not eliminate the crack entirely. Still, it seems to be fixed. We were reminded that they would replace the entire windshield at no cost. First, when our insurance recommended a local provider that we didn't know, we said we wanted Safelite. It was very easy to set up the appt. online and Safelite sent repeated messages letting us know the status. But they also did the insurance work for us. The technician (Philip) called twice to let us know his arrival at our home, and he was prompt. The installation was fast (1.5 hrs),, clean and efficient. He explained everything and didn't mind me hanging around to watch. He covered all exposed parts of the car and skillfully took everything apart. After installation, he vacuumed thoroughly and cleaned all of the windows. All in all, an excellent experience, I highly recommend Safelite of Kexington KY. My car was broken into earlier this week and GEICO referred me to Safelite to have my window replaced (it had been shattered in the break-in). I got a quote from them and scheduled an appointment for that same afternoon. In the interim, I stopped by my regular mechanic to see what he could give me for a price. He quoted me the same price as Safelite (and assured me I wasn't being ripped off) and told me I should go with them, because they'd have me in and out quickly and would do a great job cleaning up the glass. I got there at 1:15 for my 1:30 appointment, they took the car right away, and in about 45 minutes tops I was on my way. They were all wonderful, very friendly and polite, and did a wonderful job. The inside of my car had been covered with glass shards and they took a lot of care to get it as clean as possible. The waiting area is also huge and comfortable, with coffee, tea, cider, and comfortable seating. As I told the gentlemen who worked on my car and at the desk, I hope I never have to have a window replaced again, but it was a pleasure having them do it regardless. read more

$3,000 worth of damage to my vehicle is what was left after they replaced my windshield. While getting the damages repaired at an autobody, the repair shop noticed water under the windshield. Safelite didnt seal the windshield. It took them a week to get to that shop to repair and even after 6 months of having it repaired i can still hear a whistle from wind catching the windshield. I should go back to them to have them fix it but they are not touching my car again. If i could give them zero stars, i would. read more

I would give a lower rating if it were possible, we waited around all day Saturday and our appointment was between 12 and 5 PM and the service technician didn't call till 421 and left a quick message to call back by five, did call back by five and got no answer or voicemail. I find this company in Lexington Kentucky to be one of the most poor service companies I've ever seen. My wife works in the medical field and had to be in surgery all day that day and on call that night. There is no excuse for jerking your customers around, how would they like if it were their family member. I guess this company is gotten so big they don't think they need to take care of their customers anymore. Also, a word to the wise, these people don't tell you whether it's an OEM glass or an aftermarket piece of crap. They should tell you this stuff upfront I called and they said since it was a 2012 that it might not get covered and that they only did 18 to 19's with OEM glass. I think that's a ridiculous ass excuse considering they get paid the same amount of money for either one.I am going to tell everyone I run into or ever meet how piss poor the service and company is and that they should use someone else if possible, they don't deserve the business that they receive. read more
