DO NOT GO HERE RUN IN ANY OTHER DIRECTION after scheduling originally a service at my home, they canceled because of the weather and I had to drive to their horrible office. First of all, I had to get this done in the AM to be able to get done other things. I was not prepared to LEAVE my home when they called saying I had to come in instead of a home service so I had not eaten anything and could only grab a protein drink and get on the road. In the video they send "please prepare for your appointment" it says this is a 30 to 60 minute JOB INCLUDING SETTING OF THE GLUE. THIS TOOK over 2.5 HOURS! I was livid. I would have ubered home and back if I had known or had someone pick me up?! Let alone all the glass shards all over my dash and MISSING ANTENNA THEY HAVE TO REPLACE. This place was disgusting in the waiting room and it was early AM. Do they ever clean it? Did we not just have a pandemic? Uncomfortable armed chairs provided terrible positioning to relax or do my morning stretches. Sun shining in on gross beige walls and now grey salt covered floors. Bathroom was out of date too but at least seemed clean and not many ladies on site to use it anyways. Just avoid this location at all costs. If they are assigned to you, cancel your appointment and go to another location or a different shop. Having a terrible experience with Safelite, who our insurance company pushed us on. Got the car towed to Malcolm Ave the night before an appointment and wanted to check up on the status. There's absolutely no way to call the business, or even to get through their voice ladder to a human being. I even tried gethuman.com and THEY couldn't get to a human. The ladder has no option, even "other" to get you to a human. And even if you COULD get to a human, that human is not at their shop, since there's no local number, only a central voice bank. I'm about to have to do a 1h round trip drive to the shop to see if they have even looked at the car. Even a cable TV company does better than this! If you need a windshield repair/replacement, I would strongly recommend trying to find a shop that has a human component. Give Safelite a pass. read more

I went to the Safelite in SE Minneapolis (on Malcolm) to have my windshield replaced. I made an appointment several weeks in advance. Safelite asked for my vin number and all car details and proceeded to send multiple reminders and videos to "prepare" ME for my appointment. They emphasized being on time and having enough gas in the car so that the technician could drive it if necessary. I have never had so many reminders and updates about an appointment. The appointment was scheduled for 3 hours and the garage is 30 minutes from my house so all in all a 4 hour event. I arrived at 9am, sat in the waiting room for 3 HOURS! and when I approached the receptionist (who I believe was the manger), inquiring about when my car would be ready, she said: "oops, didn't anyone tell you? We didn't have the correct windshield so we were not able to do the work." I sat in that waiting room for 3 hours! I took the morning off of work to get my windshield replaced and arrived home 4 hours later with my cracked windshield. With all their modern technology, texts and videos emphasizing the customer's responsibility, they took no responsibility for their own incompetence. They focused on my preparation, and yet, they were totally unprepared (they "forgot" to order the windshield???) and their human to human communication failed. No one had the common sense to tell me after my arrival that they did not have the part. I sat for 3 hours thinking my car was being repaired. When I called to register a complaint, they offered to replace my windshield wipers for free. That to me does not come close to compensating me for my time! They may excel at text bombardments, videos, and AI agents, but they do not excel at basic customer service in ways that count. read more

Honestly have very mixed feelings. I had my first windshield replaced a few years ago and it went fine until the wind shield wipers wouldn't actually press against the glass and clear any water away. It took mulple people coming to fix it and once they even flew off while I was driving. That eventually got fixed and a two years passed and I have a new car with a broken windshield. I look around for quotes and safelite ended up being the cheapest and I knew from past experience they are pretty good about coming back for warranty work. I got my windshield and wiper blades replaced and then the next day once again one fips off while I'm driving. I did get a technician drive out to me and replace the one that broke but oldly this new one is a bit bigger then the last. We shall see if this one stays on. Would go back this place? I'm honestly not sure. So far the glass repairs have been fine but I would think again about the wipers. read more

Big sigh! Unsure of where to start. Long post ahead: A couple of highlights: Scheduling the appointment ONLINE was a breeze. They have available dates and times clearly labeled, ask minimal/pertinent questions, and is generally a quick process. The staff are also very friendly and courteous when you need to talk to them. I can also appreciate that their lobby area has a Keurig and free WIFI with the password on display. A couple of lowlights or disappointments: I had to make 3 appointments to get my windshield replaced. I wasn't asked if I wanted the default/cheap glass replacement, or the original glass. The cheaper glass was put on, and was very reflective, and had a blue streak that would show across the windshield when the sun hit it at the right angle. I tried cleaning the glass, they tried cleaning the glass but it wouldn't go away. I know that's not their fault, but it would have been nice to at least have the option to request the original manufacturer's glass vs. the default. I don't think it's fair to just assume insurance wont cover. Luckily, my insurance DID approve the original glass, so I had to make another appointment to get that put on instead. I showed up early on a Saturday morning after getting 12 reminder texts/emails/calls to show up on time. 1 hour passes by before they let me know that the glass arrived damaged so I will have to make another appointment once theyre able to get a new one in. I was told that the sourcing team doesn't work on Saturdays so someone would call on Monday to get me rescheduled. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday go by, no call from Safelite. I call Wednesday afternoon and ask if the glass is in. I try calling the number listed for the shop (after starting 3 online chats) but get the general/national customer service line. we get disconnected and I have to call 3 more times, wait on hold while that person tries to call the actual shop to speak with someone to confirm the glass is in stock. I'm able to schedule an appointment. I arrive, they take it back pretty quickly but the tech has no clue why I'm there. So i had to explain again. Now here's the kicker: I wait in the lobby for 2 hours (it's now 2pm), someone approaches me and says the wrong windshield arrived, so they have to drive to BURSNVILLE to get the right one; "If I don't mind waiting a little longer". I agree. In the meantime, 4-5 people come and go but I'm still sitting. I go and ask for an update, and I'm told at 4:15pm that they're just getting started. She told me it took her 36 minutes to go and 36 minutes to come back from Burnsville. If you're doing the math, that puts us somewhere in the 3 o'clock hour right? Why didn't they start until 4:15? Your guess is as good as mine. So 5pm rolls around, I ask for another update, I'm getting nervous at this point because I have to pick up my kids by 6pm across town and they're still not done. I ask for another update, and am finally able to leave at 5:15. Disappointed that it took much longer than what they originally quoted me for AND I had to ask for updates. If there was going to be further delays, I feel someone should have informed me. I hope to not have to replace my glass again, but if I do, I will not be returning to Safelite after this experience. read more

Went in to Safelite to get my front windshield fixed after it was broken by a rock on the highway. I will say, I was able to book an appointment very quickly & the repaired windshield looked great, but other circumstances with my experience have left me really frustrated and unhappy. Other than the obviously busted windshield, my Subaru was in perfect condition upon leaving it in Safelites care. When my car was returned to me, as I went to leave, my reverse lights and back up camera no longer worked. Perplexed, I went back inside to ask the employees what had happened to my vehicle? I become increasingly frustrated as they proceeded to tell me that "the back up functions had nothing to do with the work they did on my front windshield" so it couldn't be their fault. While I get that logically makes sense, at the end of the day, my car did not have any of these issues prior to being taken to their shop. I persisted & asked more questions about how this could have happened, and while the gentlemen who came out last to look at my car was really nice & understood my irritation, I still left with no resolution and damage to my vehicle. Just today, about two weeks after the date I dropped off my car, I also happened to realize my heated seats no longer work either, and I am still out my camera & reverse lights. I am left feeling angry & like I got scammed, as I'm now left to try and pay for issues to my car that I didn't cause. This is my first time ever writing a negative review for a company, as I like to be agreeable and nice, but I am really disappointed by this experience and wish I would've stood my ground more when I was still there. I want to give a special shout out to this Safelite location and their amazing staff. I had my windshield replaced elsewhere last month due to a crack and yesterday, my luck was short again, as a rock kicked up from a car in front of me on I-394 and left me with two very tiny chips. I made an appointment with Safelite online later in the day and was so happy they were able to fit me in the next morning. When I arrived, the person who checked me in was very friendly and the technician I worked with walked my car with me and explained that the chips weren't actually deep enough to cause problems and I wouldn't need a true chip repair service, but he was happy to fill it in to help reduce the blemish. I truly appreciated the honestly and transparency. They had a busy day ahead of them, so for him to offer to help touch up the chips for me meant a lot. When I got the car back 15 minutes later, the imperfection was less visible and the technician told me there wouldn't be a charge, which completely made my whole day and was above and beyond on his part. I wish I could remember his name because I was so impressed by the entire experience. If you are reading this- thank you! I would highly recommend this location. I don't replace a windshield very often so this time after listening to endless tv jingles I hired them to replace the windshield. IMHO the service I got was first rate. This the second time I've used Safelite Auto Glass to have my windshield replaced. This is the first time replacing my windshield in the winter by their mobile glass repair tech. I was happy that they could fit me in the same day I called since the cracked was in my line of vision for driving so I wanted to get it replaced as soon as possible. I was told by the customer representative on the phone I would get a text to let me know when the technician was 30 minutes out too my house but I waited most of the day and didn't get a text until it was close towards the end of the time window that I got a call saying he's on his way to my place. By the time he got to my house it was 3pm and I needed to pick up my daughter at 4pm. Gerardo said it would take him about 1.5 hours so I was cool. When it was time to pick up my daughter, he was no where near completion so luckily my daughter's friend's house is not too far for me to walk with my other daughter to pick up her sister. When we got back, Gerardo was still trying to get the glass out of the windshield. In about an hour and half it got dark and he's still working on replacing the glass. I went out to offer to take the vehicle to back so that there's light from the garage for him to work on. When I left at 6pm, he was still trying trying to put the glass back. He didn't finish the job until closer to 7pm. By that time, I was already at my volunteering so I had my husband take care of the rest. The next morning when I dropped off my daughter at school, I noticed that the spot where the molding for the glass to the windshield is missing or that there's a gap so I called Safelite about it. They were cool and made an appointment for me to come to the shop in St. Paul to get it looked at and fixed by their lifetime warranty. At this time I needed the molding fixed, rear view mirror tightened to the windshield and little pieces of glass be vacuumed again. Got to the shop on Christmas Eve and was told the job was done incorrectly so now they have to redo the entire windshield again which would be longer than 2 hours. So now I have to called my husband to come pick me up or fork out of pocket for an Uber ride back to my house due to their mistake. So I inconvenienced my husband to come pick me up with our two toddlers in the car and then I needed a way to get around while the truck is still at the shop so I dropped my husband off at his work in Eagan and then took my girls home for them to have breakfast. I didn't hear anything from the shop so I called to check on status a little after 1pm. Bear with me, I dropped the truck off at 8am that morning. After I had called then the technician Hugo texted and said my vehicle is done and I can come anytime to pick it up. It's not like I can just drop everything and leave my kids to go pick up the truck. I needed to find someone to come with me to bring back the spare vehicle since my husband was still at work. Once I was able to get to the shop before they closed, I reviewed the truck to make sure it was done correctly. Unfortunately, there's a plastic molding cover underneath the hood cover that was loose and so that needed to be fixed and then I didn't check the wires by the rear view mirror until this afternoon (Dec 26) when I went to put some leftovers in the front passenger seat that I noticed the plastic protector piece was not put back on and the remote car starter piece was loose on the windshield. So I texted the pictures to Hugo and he apologized for his oversight and if I could come to the shop he would put it back in place and wouldn't take too long. So another inconvenienced and took my two daughters who then fell asleep on the way. Hugo was able to fixed the problem. Overall, for their dilegence, I would rather them 3.5 for admitting their mistakes and fixing the mishaps right away. For the quality, it would have to be 2 because it should've been done correctly without any mishaps the first time. It would save on quality control if they would do a thorough picture inspection of the vehicle being serviced so that one the job is done, they can go through the pictures to compare before and after to avoid rework of their jobs and inconveniencing the customers. I believe when the techs say that it is better than when it came in so I shouldn't have to do the quality checks. I'm not sure that I would trust their work again but knock on wood I hopefully will not need to get it fixed again! read more

This is so unbelievably disappointing. If your car has a camera they have to recalibrate it. What UNSAFELITE will NOT do.... Check to see if they have the parts before showing up for a mobile appointment. Then they ALSO wont check to see what type of car you have before coming to say - just come in because it has to be recalibrated on-sight. Then when you show up a week later for your appointment.. they ask when you need your car.... Do yourself a favor EVEN if you are going to work. Tell them ASAP! Otherwise you will be put to the back of the line and they may not finish the same day. Oh yeah- they might even make your windows worse and you have to come back. See the pics! I made the appointment via telephone. The agent said this location had the driver's side rear window for my 2017 Silverado 1500 LT. But at the store, they said there was a problem with the VIN which indicated that it was a 2-door truck and they did not have the window in stock. Yet the VIN listed on the insurance card matches the vehicle and when entered into NTSB's VIN decoder correctly describes my truck as a 4-door Double Cab. The window had been broken by a thief on the evening or morning of 12/27-12/28 in Minneapolis. It was my intention to start my return trip to Arizona beginning on Monday 12/30. Since you did not have the glass in stock as was stated by the reservation agent, my trip was delayed. Further, I expected the store to contact me on Monday stating they had obtained the window from a local distributor, but I heard nothing. I ended up getting the window replaced by a local Chevy dealership. I am extremely irritated with my experience with Safelite. read more

My wife had her windshield replaced a couple of years ago and Safelite came out to our house to do it, but my windshield needed fancy calibration that they had to do in the shop. Location was easy to get to, the staff there were super friendly, the waiting area was comfortable, COVID protocols were on point, and the service was done very quickly. I had to reschedule after my original appointment due to defective materials and incorrect parts, even after knowing about previous appointment issues, when I went to ask for an update they told me that the the door was taken apart but they could not install my window due to the same reasons. They tried reschedule me again, saying they would have to drive to a nearby store to get what was needed. After insisting they do that my window was finally fixed. What should've taken an hour and half ended up being over four hours as well as missing half a days work. Don't think I'll be back again. Wished for at least more immediate communication when issues arise versus leaving customers waiting for over an hour in the first place. read more

Ok! Someone let me know if I am being paranoid? I have replaced my windshield twice in 2 years using Safelite Auto Glass. The first time I had to call them and replace the windshield was when I found a crack due to an accident.They did a good job replacing the windshield...working quickly and efficiently.After the work was completed about 6 months later another crack formed in the windshield. I called them again and again they worked efficiently and quickly to get the windshield replaced. Here's my problem.After only a month now the windshield had formed another crack.I want to say this is a coincidence however I am concerned that the windshields they are using is of a lower quality.As anyone else had this type of an issue.Why are these cracks forming so easily? They replaced my driver window last summer and less than a year later it stopped rolling up or down. So I scheduled an appt to get it fixed (no one mentioned to me that it was still under warranty, so I unnecessarily paid again, but I guess maybe that's on me), and waited around all morning for the repair tech to show up. He finally called me twenty minutes after the 4 hour window they had given me and told me he would be there in half an hour. I had things to do so I told him to forget it and rescheduled for the next weekend. The day before the next appointment someone called me and told me that they in fact could not perform this service at my house- meaning if I had waited around for the technician on the first day I had scheduled, he would have shown up an hour late only to tell me that there was nothing he could do. So, I agreed to bring my car in. I will say that the people at the location were friendly enough, and my service was performed pretty quickly and painlessly. However, after waiting the few days they told me to wait before I tried rolling my window down, I discovered that when I tried rolling it back up and just automatically rolls itself back down again. This time I took advantage of my warranty and after many minutes of tracking down an actual number, and wading through automated menus, I finally got a real living person who told me that the next appointment was over a week away. So (assuming they actually succeed in fixing my window correctly this time) it will have been over a month of having a broken window, not to mention all the stress and hassle of getting the repair scheduled. Next time I need my car windows fixed I will be taking my car to anywhere else but safelite, warranty or not. read more

I had Safelite out to replace the windshield on my Infiniti SUV on February 20th. They completed the job I paid them and they left. The following day I entered the vehicle and discovered they had spilled a black urethane liquid all over my steering wheel, steering column, wood grained dashboard, door kick plates, floor mat, interior door panel and exterior door panel. I called to ask how they would remedy this and they sent another technician out. He arrived and worked briefly to clean it. He determined he could not and left. 5 days later the original technician came out and cleaned some of it. In the process he scratched the outside of the car, my dashboard, interior door panel and steering wheel. He failed to clean about 50% of the spill and left. I have attempted to contact their customer care line and can not get through. They have repeatedly rerouted my calls with a message suggesting I contact the customer care team via email at customer.care@safelite.c.... I have done the multiple times now with ZERO response. Since then I have had one phone conversation with one manager and traded text messages with him as well. He said he arranged a non-employee company to come out and repair the damage. I have had no contact from this "company" or anybody else from Safelite since then. They have ghosted me for over a month on this issue. Nobody should ever use Safelite to service their vehicles. I know I wont. I will now pursue other avenues to resolve my issue with them. read more

Never thought I'd be reviewing this place. But my car window got smashed and I had a chip on my windshield so I took it here.I scheduled the appointment online which was super easy. Dropped my car off and they fixed everything perfectly. In addition they cleaned a majority of the glass in the car which was nice of them and unexpected. They were also very up front about the cost of the repair. They offer a warranty for as long as I own this truck which is nice. I worked with the tech Nick who was super nice and called and gave me updates and asked me questions to clarify things. Very professional and put me at ease. I was pleased with the service that Safelite. My windshield had a large, growing crack from a rock chip. One of the recommendations from my insurance was for Safelite. I had used them in a different state and was happy with their service. So I had the insurance schedule an appointment. Until I arrived, I didn't realize that the insurance company scheduled me for a "whole day" appointment rather than Safelite's typical 3-hour appointment. The car has a camera behind the rearview mirror. This requires a recalibration of the safety system after a windshield replacement. As I was waiting for the car, they said they would try their best to fit me in a three-hour window, but they were busy with their other appointment and couldn't promise anything. About an hour and a half in, someone came to see me to tell me that they got the window off, but the new windshield was scratched when they grabbed it. So the service would take longer as someone had to pick up another one. All in all, the service was about 4 hours. This wasn't too bad as I didn't have a regular appointment, and they had to pick up another windshield. Now, the safety system is behaving better after the recalibration than the system ever did before! read more

However, after I returned home, I noticed that the garage door opener wasn't in the car. I tried to contact someone but they use a stupid automated phone system and you can't talk to anyone to see if they found it. Now I need to drive back there and ask! I called to ask how they would remedy this and they sent another technician out. He arrived and worked briefly to clean it. He determined he could not and left. 5 days later the original technician came out and cleaned some of it. In the process he scratched the outside of the car, my dashboard, interior door panel and steering wheel. He failed to clean about 50% of the spill and left. I have attempted to contact their customer care line and can not get through. They have repeatedly rerouted my calls with a message suggesting I contact the customer care team via email at customer.care@safelite.com. I have done the multiple times now with ZERO response. Since then I have had one phone conversation with one manager and traded text messages with him as well. He said he arranged a non-employee company to come out and repair the damage. I have had no contact from this "company" or anybody else from Safelite since then. They have ghosted me for over a month on this issue. Nobody should ever use Safelite to service their vehicles. I know I wont. I will now pursue other avenues to resolve my issue with them. read more

I had an appointment today at 1:30 to repair a crack in my windshield. After the technician looked at it, they quoted me roughly 30 mins. No problem. Then after 45 mins they came in and told me that while they were trying to repair it, they accidentally broke my windshield. They then told me it would be an additional 1.5 hours to replace my windshield. Since my car was unsafe to drive, I had no other option than to wait. It's now been an hour and 45 mins and was just told that "they just started on your window, so it should be another hour or so" .....I'm sorry what?????? I get that accidents happen, but really??? I've been waiting for a total of 2.5 hours and THEY STILL HAVENT EVEN TOUCHED MY CAR EVEN THOUGH THEY BROKE MY WINDSHIELD!!!!!!!! When I questioned why it was taking so long, I was told there is a "waitlist". I'm sorry, but am I wrong in thinking that if they BROKE my windshield then I should be in the front of the line? Not cool Safelite, not cool. My whole day of plans went right out the window (no pun intended) thanks to your incompetence. UPDATE: it took a total of 3 hours and 37 minutes for me to get my car back. Not a single apology, or compensation of any kind. I asked why it took so long, and wondered if they needed to wait to get the parts in, but was told they had the part in stock, it was just a matter of installing it. The woman I spoke to wasn't anything but defensive and kept telling me "things happen". Well yes, they do. But do they really need to take 3.5 hours when it literally takes 30 mins to install? My driver side window was smashed in - vandalism. The Safelite technician was on time, very friendly and did a good job of replacing the window. Also cleaned up the broken glass on the seat and floor. Very pleased. read more

My wife's car had a crack down the center of the windshield. I submitted a claim, set up the appointment on line, and Safelite was out the next day to replace it. Very easy. The technician was pleasant and answered all my questions. I will definitely use them again if needed in the future. read more

The good news is they had my glass in stock. Bad news is they didn't tell me it wasn't OEM. Nor did they ask if I wanted OEM. So, I assumed it would be. 2 1/2 hours later my car was ready. I get home and noticed they scratched the paint during installation, did a lazy job of vacuuming the broken glass, and the new glass doesn't fit properly. I called customer service to complain and they were very helpful. Take the car back to the shop and they said they would fix the paint and order OEM glass. Come to find out the OEM glass would have only cost me $1 more!!! OEM glass arrived on Wednesday, but I never received a call to come in. I call on Friday and Tony states "you're on my list to call." They install the OEM glass and it fits perfectly. They try to talk me out of getting the scratches fixed, but I refuse. They said they called Maaco and all I have to do is bring my car by tomorrow and it'll be fixed in a couple of hours. I went to Maaco and they had no idea about me and received no call from Tony. I would also have to leave the car overnight since they would have to paint. But, Safelite won't pay for a rental and I don't live anywhere near the Maaco I had to go to. My car window on the passenger side was broken, my brother put plastic on it. But next time I will go into a shop and have them place there plastic on it so I can see out of the window for driving. it took a little longer to get it fixed. But they did come out to my home to do it. The person fixing the window did recommend other things for the window so it will work for the longevity of the car. read more
