I've used this location 2x now over the past two years for dings that I got in my windshield from rocks. The first time I dropped in off and picked it up later. Today I just waited. My appointment was 8:30am, I was there on time and 15 mins early as per their request. They took my car in right away, but I didn't get a text until 8:51am that they began to work on my car. So about 20 minutes past my appointment time. The waiting room to basic, some coffee and chairs. I feel their work is great for the two dings that I had in my window. They also explain to you that you will still see the ding as they are just filling it in, and there is a chance the window will crack. This is explained throughly when you bring your car to them. I will continue to bring my car here. Hopefully not often...but you never know. read more

I've used this company twice in the past month. Once for a whole windshield replacement on a car at home. The second time for a chip while I was at work. They make the process super simple and easy to follow with prompts online. It is necessary/suggested to know your VIN so they arrive with the proper replacement. You receive a telephone confirmation for the appointment prior to the date, and day of an early warning of their approaching arrival. Much appreciated so you don't get caught distracted or out of reach. It was also easy for them to go through insurance for the whole windshield replacement. Decided to go with this location to fix my windshield since it's close to the my parents and I had to leave my car at their shop. The reason they couldn't swap out my windshield on site was because of the camera that detects lane departure, etc. From booking the appointment, to the text messages updating me with the progress of the repair, this was one of the easiest and least stressful things when dealing with this annoyance of a situation. The check in took no time, and I was texted as soon as the repair began and when it was done. The staff was super kind and accommodating. The waiting area was exceptionally clean. They're lucky they even get ONE star! This has been the most frustrating and unprofessional service experience I've ever had. When Safelite came to replace my windshield, technician Alex broke the cowls and interior panels -- then tried to hide the damage. He also cut a wire during the install, which he also tried to hide, that triggered warning lights for my ABS, traction control, and brake system. Safelite initially tried to blame Jeep/Mopar for the issue instead of taking responsibility. Technician Robert came out for what was supposed to be an inspection, but instead of checking anything, he just sat in my car for nearly an hour on his iPad, contributing nothing to the resolution. The store manager, Loriann Giacomantonio, has been consistently rude, condescending, and completely lacking in empathy. Not once did I receive a real apology -- just deflection and blame-shifting. Only after escalating the situation did they send a master tech -- well after multiple failed attempts to fix the problem. Even then, the only reason the cut wire was found was because I had to ask him to remove the panels and inspect the wiring. If I hadn't spoken up, I seriously doubt they would have found or admitted to anything. Now, despite admitting to the wire damage, Safelite will only authorize a repair for that -- refusing to allow my dealership to repair the rest of the damage they caused. After everything I've experienced, I do not trust anyone from this location to touch my vehicle again. I've missed multiple days of work, dealt with repeat visits (including at my workplace), and still have unresolved damage. This entire process has been stressful, exhausting, and handled with zero accountability. I highly recommend avoiding this location altogether. Do yourself a favor, if you have to ever deal with any of these people, don't bother. Tim, their master tech, was the only one to actually care. read more

I had my car, and van broken into twice. I think it might have been my ex girlfriend's, boys. They broke the rear window in my 2015 Fiat 500 Abarth. A rear window in my Van, that I got replaced by a different company. That one the factory tint looks a little darker. I believe they, make their own glass? My one issue, is it's not completely clear. Maybe the defrost lines, are on a clear sticker? I think the price was good, but don't think I will vouch for the quality of the glass. Different windows, might use different glass? I usually refrain from writing bad reviews until I have given a business at least one chance to make good on something they got really wrong. At this point, I have given not only Safelite's LOCAL office, but its headquarters as well FOUR chances to fix what they did to me. Now I need to give other potential customers a heads-up about what you might expect if you hire them. From the very beginning, communicating with Safelite was virtually impossible. Don't expect to be able to pick up a phone and ask questions. Until you've gone to the website, provided all your personal information, and booked an appointment, you won't even know if there are real people behind this business. After this, I will admit that the actual technician did a very good job of keeping me up-to-date on when he would arrive, etc. Unfortunately, that's where his role as an intermediary between me and the company ended, as he could not answer any questions and just kept referring me to the company website. This was particularly frustrating when the technician called me outside from my place of business to tell me the job was completed and that he had installed a new set of wiper blades. I told him I had just replaced the blades within the past couple of months and he replied that the blades were "part of the service." I didn't think about this again until my insurance reimbursement arrived a couple of days later and it was $70 short of what I had paid Safelite. It turns out that $70 of my invoice was for wiper blades I did not need or want, and that my insurance wouldn't cover this charge. With no phone number available for Safelite, I fell back on my only option to contact them, which was the satisfaction survey that was already in my inbox ten minutes after the technician left. I told them exactly what had happened (and also inquired about a small rectangular mark I couldn't seem to wipe off the new windshield) and checked the box indicating that I would like to be contacted regarding this issue. Two weeks went by and I had not heard back from Safelite, so I sent in the survey again AND backed it up with an email to the corporate offices. I also had my insurance agent try to contact them. Now it's more than a month since my service and I still have not heard a peep. Had Safelite done the right and decent thing, I could have referred scores of customers to them, as I work for the local township and many, many people were really impressed that they could have their glass repaired right outside our offices. Instead, they chose a $70 con-job over earning an endless flow of new business from me. Good job, Safelite. I'm done with you, and don't expect any more jobs out of THIS office of 300 employees. read more

After having my windshield replaced, I had to have the car reinspected. When the technician replaced the windshield, a RED inspection sticker was placed on the windshield with VOID written all over it. No one mentioned this to me when I picked up the car. I was driving around for several days with a voided inspection. If I had been stopped, I would have received a ticket for it. When I tried to call Safelite to complain. You cannot get a human being to speak to. And once you finally do, they are in another state and have absolutely no idea what's going on. I was told I could fill out a form online with DMV sending a check for two dollars and then wait for a copy of my current inspection sticker in the mail. In the meantime I'm driving around with a red void sticker risking a ticket. I feel Safelite should have at least have the decency to tell me what was going on. read more

They suck!! Period!!! We have a van with a windshield spoiler and the guy who came said he could not install a new windshield without us removing it first!! We've gotten our windshield replaced numerous times without having to remove anything!!! Never using safelite again!!! My windshield got a massive crack it in a few days ago so I called Safelite to schedule an appointment. They communicated extremely well throughout the process (the first windshield broke in transit so they delayed the work a day) and after Donald the tech arrived, it was all done in about 2 hours! Now I have a newer Volvo SUV with all the lane detection gadgets and such so I was very worried when I saw dozens of wires hanging off the windshield as he was replacing it but after all was said and done, everything worked great! I would highly recommend this place, it was awesome and my insurance fit the entire bill! read more

I am completely livid with the service I have received at SafeLite during the past weeks. I made an appointment for a windshield replacement service, and while they successfully replaced my windshield, other issues- which have never existed prior to this appointment- started to appear. The next time driving my truck, I noticed there was an issue where none of my safety service features worked and a message saying, "LaneSense and AUTO Highbeam Unavailable Service required" was now showing up on my truck. Keep in mind, I have never once had this issue and all the safety features were in perfect condition before this appointment. Figuring this was a fixable mistake that SafeLite had caused, I scheduled another appointment- my second appointment- the following day. The same worker who had previously fixed the windshield took another look at the truck and tried to recalibrate the safety features. After an hour, I was informed that the worker couldn't figure out the issue and that I needed to make an appointment two weeks later so they could start over. Giving them yet another chance, I scheduled my third appointment. Upon arriving today they told me they had no knowledge of any of the issues I had complained about, as nothing was in their computer. SafeLite's lack of documentation was the first red flag. They proceeded to take a look at my truck, taking from 3pm-4:50pm, and when I went to pick it up, they said there is nothing they can do to fix any of the issues, it's a big coincidence, and I will have to go through the dealership and pay out of pocket as it is not their fault. These issues will not be covered by insurance, costing me a hefty sum of money I do not currently have. I told them that there had been NO issues until I brought my truck to them, and they proceeded to deny that they were responsible for any damage. Not even two minutes after leaving, since there is supposedly nothing that can be done, I got another message on my truck saying, "ACC/FCW Limited Functionality Service Required." Absolutely unbelievable. More issues appeared. I now have to call my dealership, the insurance company, and SafeLite corporate. I am beyond frustrated and disappointed with their service. I will never be returning and I advice anyone considering using SafeLite to avoid them at all costs. read more

Went to the patchogue location for a windshield replacement on my 2017 Audi A4. I'm very unhappy with the service done to my vehicle, for starters they cut up my interior side pillar (which they told me they did - and have ordered a new pillar through audi *allegedly*). Then i noticed that the actual windshield isn't even OEM from audi. It's some chinese fufu knock off brand glass. And then there's a piece of my interior missing which i am 100% getting replaced by safelite. I will fight till the end until y'all make this right. unbelievably shady work from a big name like safelite. So disappointed I wish i hadn't brought my car here. read more

I had a great experience for the second time. The crew was very friendly and competent. I needed a new windshield. I had a 2 days wait for the appointment. Appointment was at 2 pm and the crew was on time. It was a very quick process. I killed time with my dog in a comfortable waiting room where coffee and drinks are available. I was told I had to have the work done in shop because my car has Lane Departure and it needed recalibration, ok not a problem. The guy on the phone asked about my windshield and I told him, No, I do NOT have rain sensor wipers. I scheduled the appt. for Saturday and when I showed up they had the wrong windshield with rain sensor! I was told the glass I needed was only available from the dealer and they wouldn't have it for at least a week. It was just annoying because I told him in the first place. The girl at the check in counter was super friendly and helpful and got my glass and appt. scheduled for the next Saturday so no harm, no foul. I contacted Safelite in Medford & Geico on June 17, 2021 -- I wanted them to come to my house for the repair, but they said they could not come until June 28, 2021 -- but at least I'd get a morning appointment, supposedly between 8:00 & 12:00. Okay, morning of the 28th I get a call from their technician that he can't make it until around 1:30 -- Not acceptable as I had scheduled Medical appointments for this day around their promised arrival -- Cancelled them immediately and called R & J's in Shirley. Safelite had better pay attention to how they treat their customers as there have been many bigger companies who thought they were too big for their britches and ended up losing their Bread & Butter. I got to Safelite at 11 am for my appointment. When I arrived the blonde at the desk appeared to be on a phone call and didn't acknowledge me, even though I was standing right in front of her. After she was done she told me that my wait would be 3 hours and she would call when the car was ready. After 3 hours I tried calling to see when they thought the car might be ready. When you call the Patchogue location, I believe it transfers to a call center. I got a man on the phone that said he would call the shop to see when it would be ready. He never came back to the line. I then received a text message stating that my car was ready. I went down to the shop and no one was behind the desk. The blonde haired woman was in the back yelling at some of the guys back there. She came in and said I told the guy on the phone who JUST called that your car isn't ready. Almost like it was my fault. I told her about the text message I was sent and it's almost like she didn't believe me with the way she was speaking, so I physically showed it to her. She then apologized. I've read a lot of reviews about this particular woman needing an attitude adjustment. She is very abrupt and rude. The men working in the back seemed respectful and kind. You might want to find a nicer person for your front desk. read more

After waiting 12 days for an appointment with a 2' crack across my windshield one of their representatives called me 4 hours before my appointment to verify my insurance. I already verified my coverage before contacting them and filling out their online form, I don't know what company thinks to wait 12 days to verify insurance 4 hours before the appointment because if there's a problem there's no time to rectify it. Turns out there was a problem, even though I have full glass coverage (because my car is a lease) for some reason they could not verify this. They then left the ball in my court for me to do the follow ups. Fast forward to 1:30 in the afternoon, a 1/2 an hour into my appointment time, I get a call from another representative who tells me they have to cancel my appointment today because my "driver was in a car accident and has windshield damage". Working in the service and repair industry since 2002 I know that was an excuse, and a lame one at that. By this time I had already spoken with my insurance company and told them I don't want to have anything to do with safelite. I honestly don't know how you can make someone wait 12 days for an appointment and then cancel their appointment that day while they're waiting at home. All in all a very poor experience, no one was helpful or accommodating. I found another company who came within 36 hours and they were wonderful in every way. I will never have a need to call safelite company again. read more

I had my windshield replaced in April 2021 from the factory glass. 8 months later it needed to be replaced again. Not sure if it was from the temperature change but it cracked from the edge. No rock or anything that I remember hitting. The tech that came both times for the mobile service came to my office, arrived early, and did a great job with the installation. Even cleaned my wiper blades. No issues with leaking or air drafts. So far so good! read more

As an update, safelite did follow up with me on twitter and after some discussion, they could see why I was frustrated- I had expected a repair and hadn't been warned that the window would be inspected and need to pass a test first. I am pleased to say they covered the replacement and even sent someone to do it at no charge to me. Was very happy with the follow up from the company. Don't Ever Use Safelite - What they don't tell you is that if they try to repair a simple star or chip in your windshield they may crack the entire windshield which can result in Thousands of dollars in repairs. They broke my windshield and when I flipped out and told them that I should have just got a repair kit at the auto store they agreed. Then said didn't the manager tell you that we may crack your glass. NO Then they said that the windshield is on back order and they don't know when they can get it . 2 week go by with a huge crack right in my sight line and I called to find out where the glass was. No response for 5 days. Finally I got fed up and called Volvo myself and they said they can get the glass i 2 days. Got it done by a real glass shop. What a Terrible company. A full windshield replacement started off great with Safelite. They arrived two hours after I requested the replacement, changed out my windshield in my job parking lot and required no paperwork from me (covered by insurance). It was a total five star review but that's where the good news ends. I left work that day and drove my vehicle home to hear an interesting sound of something plastic like sliding through my dashboard. I called Safelite the next day and they pretended to be confused on what could have happened- made statements that we don't use any tools. They refused to give me an appointment to check the issue out and told me i must go to a location. So off I went to the Patchogue location but low abs behold they couldn't assist me without an appointment but made similar statements to me- no tools used etc, maybe my car always made that noise (REALLY!!). They came the next day and after twenty minutes their technician successfully plucked out a tiny white cracked clip from my dash area. Told me it's a "spacer" that they use when installing the new windshield. He told me the noise was gone but of course when I got into the car to drive home I could still hear it. So now i have to make another appointment with Safelite. I completely understand things happen but if you put five spacers in someone's windshield and in the end you only have three it's going to be a problem. On a good note, my new windshield otherwise seems perfect!! May the odds of lost spacers be ever in your favor. read more

My experience with this shop exceeded my expectations. Really flawless on my RAV4. I had made an online appointment through my insurance company filing a claim Monday and getting an appointment for Friday at 7:30 am this same week. I contacted Safelite through their toll free number to find out if I could drop off day before for my convenience. Dropped off before closing just yesterday (Thursday about 4:00)and they said they would lock in their shop overnight. Got email and phone call before even 9 am today,Friday. that car was finished. Checked windshield before walking in. Looked perfect, no mess, all stickers looked like they were never even swapped-registration, inspection, even maintenance reminder from dealer transferred with absolutely no damage and even "EasyPass" retainer strips on inside. Vehicle spotless inside by dash with no indication anything had been disturbed at all. Weatherstripping all around looked perfect. Very pleasant and professional reception person greeted me and got me processed out immediately. I turned on the "lane departure" warning system after leaving since they had to recalibrate the camera when replacing the windshield and it functioned as before sounding beep as soon as I inched over the lane marking lines either on left or right.
