Repair took significantly longer than what I had been told to expect, which resulted in me having…read moreto spend a ton out of pocket on rental, as I hadn't planned on it being a long repair and didn't have rental as part of my insurance policy. I was able to get some help from family and friends to ease that financial burden, but inconvenienced them as it was difficult to get a direct answer from the shop. Customer service was poor, and I was not updated on progress, unless I called, and even then was told I would get a call back, which I did, but was often at the very end of the day. I felt terrible and like I was annoying the poor receptionist with my frequent calls. Then there is the issue of competence, which seems to be lacking. Staff there do not seem to know the difference between left and right, and ended up replacing a part on the wrong side of the vehicle, so they replaced a perfectly good part, and then were stumped when it wasn't working. This led to them setting up an appointment at the dealership, and the mechanic in the dealer showed me what had been replaced which confirmed that the wrong part had been replaced. At this point I decided Gerber was not to lay another finger on my vehicle. They denied replacing the wrong part. The dealer understandably needed authorizations to order specific parts and do certain tasks, as Gerber was footing the bill at this point. They took their sweet time with returning calls to the dealer, so by the time they got the approval it was so late in the day that nothing could be done until the morning, further extending the time needed to complete the repair. All in all, which should have been a simple 3-4 day project (replace 1 sensor and a bumper) got stretched out over 2.5 months. I was able to get my car back in between some appointments, but the money wasted on rentals and time and frustration wasted due to incompetence has led me to never trust them again.

Recently he hit a raccoon or larger rodent on a night drive and it damaged the front bumper of his supercharged G8. A friend at work recommended this shop in victor to have the work done. They got him scheduled very quickly, and completed the work even faster than expected. The white paint match was great, and the finish was good. The crew even took care of a quick mechanical repair that was unplanned, and did so at no cost even though they could have rightly charged 30 minutes of labor. We'll definitely go back!

I was surprised because I have brought them previously a car and sent them a lot of work over the years. So let me tell you about the LONG HAUL on your vehicle if you bring it here to Vogels. I would know about long term on a vehicle from them because they did a Job for me in 2015 on my 97 Camaro. This place is decent place to bring your vehicle if you need something fix short term but long term not worth it to ME. To others they are worth it but they don't restore cars really just fix them. I brought these guys my 97 Camaro back in 2015. Let me tell you what it WASN'T worth the price they charged me 6500-7k and or it felt like I was getting harassed by the owner about paying them. Normally you pay for a job when it's finished but he was eager to collect some before starting it and during before he finished the Camaro. I had to pay before they finished which felt like I was being scammed but I was in a tight pinch and had to get it done. After finally paying them in full they finished it up and said we will detail it up nice for you but the rushed they detail guy and I had wax all over the Camaro. Even the detail guy complained about being rushed. I even mentioned the green paint I could still see but they didn't fix it or nothing. I was super bummed about this but I was still happy to get my 97 Camaro back on the road and drive it. Mind you this 97 Camaro sat after it got "restored"from Vogels. Nothing wrong with it but all the imperfections they left, all the chipped and cracked paint I found and the green paint from the donor parts they used to fix it that you could still see in areas. The Camaro wasn't very professional done at all and the service I got from them especially from the owner himself was good and all till the demanded payment. Then it felt like a scam and it felt like I was being harassed. Now 10 years later I have to repay someone to fix all those paint chips, all the cracked panels and a lot more. So in my opinion it's not worth it because 10 years later and 6500 bucks wasted to repay another person. About the same or more to make it look brand new even better then show room quality they said just like Vogel's promised me but Vogels couldn't handle it. Edit : So after I posted this because I got a phone call at 11:17 from there Shop manager or whatever he is there. His name was Eric. He called me asked me why I would leave a negative review because they refused to take a quote from me earlier today? Then proceeded to say I called them because I had an insurance quote done and I wanted them to add more on? WTF? How is that possible when my accident just happen at 9:33 am. So how did I have time to get a quote and call you to ask you to change that quote? So now I'm more annoyed because they tried to call me out on something I didn't even say. All I said was "can I get an estimate done today for an insurance quote". He then proceeded to tell me IDK why you're posting your Camaro now. It's been 10 years and we didn't harass you. He said "we have to get some up front or all especially when it's not an insurance quote because we gotta pay outta packet for materials"? Really? You have to pay for materials? Wow that's crazy. What about regular mechanics or other shops? They don't ask up front for any money. However I was fine putting a down payment down back then. It was the owner calling me demanding money from me time and time again multiple times and said he couldn't fix it till I did. That sounds like harassment to me. Their excuse was "well sometimes people have us fix it but then not come back at all after we finish". I said "not my fault don't judge a book by its cover.
