Dropped my vehicle off at Safelite AutoGlass in Scottsdale at 8:15 AM and explicitly explained that I had a hard 6:00 PM commitment, asking if the car could please be ready before 5:00 PM. Based on my vehicle's app activity, they didn't even start working on it until around 1:00 PM, then it appeared to be a stop/start process for the next five hours. Now it's nearly 6:00 PM, the car still isn't done, and I'm going to miss my appointment. The customer service experience was equally disappointing. When you walk in, no one acknowledges you or even offers a basic greeting. It was bad enough that two other customers--complete strangers to each other--were openly joking in the lobby about how terrible the atmosphere was, making comments like "the vibes are terrible in here" and sarcastically referring to the person behind the counter as "a real ball of sunshine." Delays can happen, but poor communication and an openly unpleasant customer experience are management issues, not unavoidable circumstances. This location clearly has a customer service problem, and management needs to take a hard look at the culture and make significant changes. read more

I had my windshield replaced on my 2023 Honda CR-V and immediately afterward my right blind spot monitor was no longer sensing vehicles correctly. I brought the vehicle back in, and they recalibrated the system again. After the second recalibration, now BOTH side mirror blind spot monitors are not working properly at all. Despite this, I continue to be told that "everything looks fine" on their systems because the calibration and testing supposedly passed. What is frustrating is that the real world performance of the vehicle clearly changed after their work was performed. Before the windshield replacement, the system worked normally. Now it does not. Instead of acknowledging the concern or helping escalate the issue, it feels like they are hiding behind their computer test results and washing their hands of the situation. I even overheard an employee mention they previously had another vehicle issue that had to be sent to an outside company to correct, which makes this even more concerning. I understand mistakes and complications can happen with modern ADAS systems. My frustration is with the lack of accountability and customer care when a customer raises legitimate safety concerns. I've had multiple windshield replacements in my life and I have never had such an awful experience as I did with these guys. On the first appointment, my windshield shattered when they tried to lift it out. So, they came back the next day to replace it with a supervisor. They replaced my windshield but said they didn't have the molding for the edges so they would have to come back. I was told the office would reach out to me. A week went by and they hadn't reached out to me so I called them to find out when we could get this wrapped up. I made an appointment and 5 hours before the appointment, they messaged and said they were too short staffed to keep my appointment and they would have to reschedule. I travel for work so I don't have a lot of fluidity in my calendar. The next day a guy came out and he parked in the farthest spot away from where my car was parked unintentionally. So I walked in the 113 degree weather to his truck to give him my car key and get him lined out. He offered me a ride in his van to my car because it was obvious that I was overheating. I thought that was nice so when I walked to the passenger side of his van, he said there was too much stuff in the front and I would need to get in the back of his van!!!! That felt extremely threatening and rapey. I declined and walked over to my car in the heat and he drove alone. When we arrived at my car, I asked him how long it would take to replace the molding. He told me that he was only there to take pictures and that no work would be done to my car that day. Then without missing a beat, he starts heckling me for being hot and making fun of me. I felt so uncomfortable that I walked away while he was still speaking to me. I called the office and told a manager the entire saga. An appointment was made to replace the molding again and another tech came out the following week. He said that he wouldn't be able to just replace the molding; I required ANOTHER new windshield to replace the moldings. That was yesterday and this morning I went to get in my car and the new moldings are lifted and not connected to the body of my car so it will most certainly leak during rain or a car wash. I'm SO frustrated with every person that works at this shop. Don't waste your time with them. They are an absolute circle jerk down there. Literally anyone else would do a better job. read more

Called State Farm, needed a windshield replacement. Safelite out of Tempe, AZ (Manager Tyson) scheduled a few days out. First trip, Wrong windshield. A week later, two technicians showed up. Yes, new windshield. Problem was they completely tore out the rubber on the bottom of the windshield frame and also had two black silicone spots on my passenger seat. Called Customer Service and sent pictures as well. Received a callback, Customer Service submitted a ticket to Tempe location (Manager Tyson). Customer Service stated I should receive a call within 24 to 48 hours from Tyson. Tyson never called, shows Tyson doesn't care for his customers and/or the quality of his tech's work. As for the future, I will never use Safelite regardless of any location. Tyson wreck all my future dealing with Safelite. After a poor experience at another location I called customer support and they sent me to this location on Raintree. Talk about exceptional service! From the person who greeted me and walked me through the fees and process, as well as giving me directions to a local restaurant in walking distance the service was perfect. The quick handling of taking my car back was a wonderful change from the previous location! They also texted me my car was ready and when I walked in the door were quick to get me a bottle of water as it is very hot here in AZ. Really negative customer experience. Got a rock to my windshield and thought this would be the best place to take my car for the repair that the other parties insurance was paying for. Scheduled almost 3 weeks ahead & picked up my rental car, which ran a little later, so I was an hour late bringing the vehicle in which I called the 888 number to let the team know. I was not informed that Teslas had to be updated with their software before drop off, I could've taken care of this from the Wi-Fi hotspot on my phone ahead of time, but instead was told by the team they had turned three other Teslas away earlier for the same software download requirement. Seems rather odd that four customers did not receive proper notification for their vehicle repair but clearly communication was not their forte. No one at desk upon arrival. No communication from call center to local center. The requirement for software update would've been very helpful to have with ample notice as in at least 48 hours before the appointment. I'll be taking my car elsewhere for my repairs and will not recommend Safelite. There was zero cohesiveness from the call center number to the local number, and I wasted my money on a rental car for no reason as it is currently sitting at enterprise with my personal belongings in it /far from ideal. Here is a suggestion inform your client with ample notice what steps are necessary for drop off and communicate between your toll-free number and your local office. There were three opportunities since we spoke so many times this morning to let me know about the update for software. Several years ago I highly recommended this shop. This has changed dramatically. My suggestion now is to avoid any interaction with the physical location and just use the remote service. Dealing with the service coordinator at the shop was, at best, unpleasant. She actually just decides to just cancel my appointment because I had a question concerning OEM vs Equivalent. After speaking with corporate I did get resolution to the matter and they scheduled me for remote service. I would avoid any interaction with this location. read more

We booked it a little over a week out for a Saturday and the process, while automated, was smooth... with constant text messages along the way. I have State Farm and 100% glass coverage. She said on her paperwork, it was $500. My State Farm agent called in to let her know I'm covered for 100%.. no deduction. I had a horrible experience with Safelite at this location the other day--Sept 2. Like several other people I see here who went through the delay of getting the parts in, I too had to wait more than four weeks to get the windshield for my 2019 Mazda Miata MX-5. At least three times, I went through appointment cancelation last minute because they seemed to wait for a few other components, such as a bracket and a molding piece, to come in. However, this experience has been okay, as I understand the backorder situation caused by COVID. I got a call from Safelite the other day to let me know the parts are finally in, so I dropped off my car to get the windshield replaced as of yesterday. And things went very wrong. An hour after I dropped off my car, I got a call from a guy named Brandon. He explained that he did install the windshield but found out it is not the correct one/model. With that, he continued to describe the bracket as incorrect as well because the lane departure function didn't seem to work correctly. He mentioned he didn't realize it was the wrong product for my car until AFTER installing the windshield. They had my VIN and everything else, so I am still unclear on what happened and who actually screwed up. The biggest blow is he said they won't get a new correct windshield until the end of this month due to the backorder situation! To worsen the situation, he told me he didn't install the black molding/frame around the window to protect the edge of the windshield and hold it all in. As molding tends to break with new installations, he wants to wait for the new/correct windshield. And of course, due to the backorder situation, he doesn't even know when he can get a new molding piece, and this is the main reason he didn't want to put in the molding piece. He also mentioned that we could install a "universal moldng," but he has to uninstall the windshield to do the job. But of course, there is a possibility the windshield may break. As much as I understand the delay and lack of parts available, I was completely angered by the casual way Brandon was dealing with my situation. The problem is I am in the middle of selling my car and have two prospective buyers I've been dealing with. And now, I am not able to sell it, let alone drive the car, as I feel incredibly nervous about having the windshield completely exposed this way. The prospective buyers were okay with the crack in the windshield. But I wanted to do the right thing so, I decide to fix the windshield, and this happened. I explained my personal situation to Brandon and how ridiculous it is for him to expect me to drive a car like this for over a month. I was very emotional as I can't sell the car now, and it will impact my finances, but I was also overwhelmed by the thought of driving an unsafe car like this for a month--probably longer. I was highly emotional when I saw the shape the car was in and was trying to confront Brandon to take my situation more seriously and come up with a solution. I understand he is probably just a mechanic who may not face customers directly much, but when I almost broke down, he laughed at me. I just couldn't believe how he was laughing at a customer who is clearly in distress. This whole thing happened during my lunch hour, so I had to come back to work. So, I didn't get to speak to the manager of the branch. After I got back, I did call Safelite to talk to the manager, but for some reason, it was forwarded to another Safelite branch. The man I spoke to was nice enough to try to contact the manager, Julio Martinez, and left a message about my situation at the branch I was at. He mentioned that I am to receive a phone call from Julio shortly. But I didn't get it. So on Friday, Sept 3, I called them back and finally spoke to Julio to describe the situation. He sounded quite nonchalant and didn't express any concern about the situation. But because I was leaving town and wanted to speak to him in person, I just ended up making sure he will be at the office next Wednesday or Thursday when I plan to bring back my car to figure out a way to fix this situation. This has been THE WORST experience I have ever had getting my windshield replaced! I am now on my 3rd attempt at getting my windshield replaced by them. The first time they came to my home they brought a piece of damaged glass, installed it, and then asked if it was ok! I said no due to the fact that the deep long scratch ran vertically directly in the drivers field of vision! They said they would contact me to schedule another replacement. I received no paperwork, calls or texts to follow up. I submitted a complaint through Geico, who made me use this company, and I received a call a week later from safe lite saying they were at my home and starting the 2nd replacement. I had no advance notice they were coming! Thank goodness I was home! The tech installing glass the 2nd time said it was not the right piece of glass. The sensors would not fit back on. He installed it without the sensor and said they will order glass from the car manufacturer and get back to me. 3rd attempt: I'm at Safelite. I had to bring the car to them this time. The tech asked me where I put the sensor for my windshield and I was never given it. It was not left in my car! He said he'll have to figure out what the last tech did with it. Maybe it's in one or f their vans! While I'm waiting, a woman in the waiting room is told by the tech that they are installing a damaged piece of glass and asked if it was ok. She said NO! It's not ok! Why would you even ask?! The tech replied- "well, most people don't care because it's going to break anyway." !!! THEIR STANDARD PRACTICE IS TO INSTALL DAMAGED GLASS!! read more

I really didn't want to review another Safelite. Unfortunately, my car is apparently a magnet for rocks, so I get chips that I have to have dealt with before they turn into big cracks. I don't want to replace the windshield again. Fortunately, my insurance company started letting me come to the Safelite on Raintree. It is much closer to home. I was able to make same day appointments through my insurance company. The service is friendly and fast (for chips). I doubt that if one needed to have a windshield replaced you could get in same day, since I don't think they stock all the windshields at the repair locations. For chips, though, very convenient. Even though Safelite is my default glass company for my insurance, I've used them so long with such good results, I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

I took my mint condition Maserati coupe to Safelite for a window replacement and had an awful experience. After weeks of waiting and dealing with cancelled appointments, I picked up my car to find it scratched and covered in grease. No one acknowledged the damage until I pointed it out. The assistant manager offered napkins to clean the grease and promised to fix the scratch, but there's been no follow-up. We agreed on a detail paid by the shop, but I left with a scratched and dirty car. If you have a nice car, take it somewhere else. This place is total garbage. read more

I can't say enough about the pleasant experience it was , they even came out to my house to do the repair. I have to give our tech Clay two thumbs up he was so nice and cheerful on the phone and in person, the guy has great work ethic and personality which I really appreciate. I should have read these reviews before even coming in. I had an appointment for my 2014 Honda accord. I knew something was wrong when they assisted I have brand new windshield wipers. They did not complete the new windshield work has my car needed calibration. This location told me they don't do that and told me to take it to Honda for calibration. Why didn't they tell me about the car needing calibration in the first place instead of the technician taking my keys and car and making me wait to tell me they couldn't do my car? Also does everyone who comes here have to buy new windshield wipers or was it just me that was told had too? Shouldn't when it was booked realized they couldn't do a 2014 Honda Accord? I think most insurance companies outsource glass claim handling to safelite (State Farm & progressive for certain). I always hesitated to use them as the fellas over at Lerner & Rowe are always telling me how the insurance company is out to screw me. I had two windshields needing replaced, both Tesla Ys. Tesla has super long wait times but I booked two appointments. I ended up needing to go out of town and Tesla wouldn't let me leave the car so I had to cancel one, got one fixed there. So now I need to wait a long time again. Tesla gave me a card for a different glass company that wanted $700 more than Tesla so I tried safelite. Was able to get in within a few days and they replaced the windshield with Tesla glass. Left the car for the day, everything went well and was $400 less than Tesla. I do have full glass coverage but still, crazy price difference when it is the same glass. Overall, a good experience, nothing outstanding but windshield fixed and no hassle over paying and getting reimbursed. I'll be back read more

My car's front windshield have had its fair share of pits, spider cracks, and chips from driving on 101 loop daily. But it finally reached its end of life when a projectile hit it and created a combination spider and a hairline crack that extended to over 12" long a couple days. I did the online scheduling with Safelite and it was extremely easy. I already had the pictures at hand showing all the damages so I simply had to upload them and my insurance info. The entire process was automated! They got prior authorization from State Farm and sent their tech out on a Saturday morning to our residence to get the job done.
