Several good points about choosing this place. First. They had the quickest turnaround time to get my glass in from out of state. They also were significantly cheaper than some other places I called. I had an appointment and they told me something else was broken and that it would not be an easy fix if I replaced the window without fixing that. So I really appreciate it that they made sure it was done correctly. When we went we thought it would be at least an hour hour and a half and it turned out to only take about 45 minutes. They also had a little bag of chips to snack on and some drinks if you need one. And they even turned on cartoons for my little one while we waited. Overall great experience. read more

I heard from multiple people that safelite is a bad company to deal with. But I called every glass company from wasilla to anchorage and no one had the windshield for my sons car. So first of all, safelite is all done on website, you can't call to ask questions at all. I booked and paid for the mobile service for a few days out. The tech Kyle said oh we don't do moose strikes. They never stated that, even though I put it in the comments when making the appointment. It was a slow mph strike like 30pmh. The Moose didn't damage any other part to the car, but the tech said that it rolled the lower part of the frame of the windshield. Well it was very minor. He said I needed to take it to a body shop and have it fixed, or just junk the car. I said well I paid for the glass just leave it and call it a day, he refused. I prepaid for the glass and they refused to leave it to me. I explained they were the only people in the state that had the glass but still refused to leave the glass. Otherwise I have to wait 4-8 weeks to order from out of state. He refused to do anything and left. He did give me the managers card. Called the first number doesn't work, called the 2nd number multiple times and finally Clay the manager answered. He of course said they can't do work so now I have to wait 5-7 days to get a refund. To summarize, if you hit a moose even a low impact don't call them they won't do it. They have no phone to call, and zero customer service support to ask questions. They don't state whether they have the glass in stock or not. If there is any minor damage to any part of the car they won't do it. They refuse to sell the glass without the service. I even said charge me full price for the service and windshield just leave the windshield and they wouldn't. My suggestion is if you can avoid using these folks, you will be much better off in the long run. they were the most expensive of all the companies I called. read more

Would give zero stars if I could. We had our windshield replaced here earlier this month, paid $820 out of pocket and the first time I drove anywhere, a construction truck driving the OPPOSITE direction kicked up a tiny piece of pea gravel that the State sands the roads with in winter. It hit my windshield and made like a 12 inch crack! We brought it back to Safelite and they said that their standard glass is subpar even to factory glass and that they get calls all the time even two hours after replacement that people's windshields are cracked. I don't understand how the guy sleeps at night knowingly selling such a crappy product and wasting people's hard earned money. He offered us $100 off a new replacement. Yeah, right. No thanks. We're taking our money elsewhere. We had my husband's windshield replaced at Novus like 7 years ago and it doesn't have a single ding in it whatsoever. Just drive to Anchorage and give your money to a place with quality glass. read more

They do a very good at both repairing and replacing windshields. I, like most Alaskans, have had both done. Tip: if you go them to have your windshield fixed, don't plan on using the bathroom there. It looks like it hasn't been cleaned since the building was built! read more

Just got a windshield repaired by Safelite here in Wasilla Alaska! They were so quickly efficient and did excellent service. Bradly called me when he had a question and was very helpful when we had to cancel a couple times due to the car having a bad battery! No issues thus far, good stuff! Shane was very communicative, letting me know an approximate arrival time, and then updated me as his schedule changed (he was actually able to get here earlier than expected). Took a look at the damaged windshield, asked if I needed any of the stickers, got all the info he needed and got to work (windshield replacement). He was done pretty quickly, let me know anything I needed to do (wait to drive, car wash, etc), and got all the paperwork squared away. What more could you want? Thanks guys! read more

Avoid.. Went here to get my windshield chips repaired and left with a windshield with a 2 foot long crack. Then I'm told that I have to buy a windshield. My deductible is $250 but they were offering me the windshield for $180. Seriously.. I came here to get a chip fixed and now that they screwed up my windshield they expect me to pay for it. Choose a different company! I took my vehicle here in February to replace the windshield. Paid nearly 400.00. Within 2 week there was a crack about 6 inches long, coming from the very bottom of the window upward. Upon inspection of the crack there is a super small surface nick [no spidering etc,] about a 1/4 inch away from the crack. The heated strip for the wipers also was not working, as there was mass build up of ice on blades while driving. Took it back and they refused to replace it without me paying another 389.00! Either they use super thin, cheap glass or they damaged the wind shield during installation. Either way, its messed up and bad business! read more
