My pickup truck windshield needed to be replaced. The technician, Jonathan, was in touch with me early on the day of my appointment just to check in. When Jonathan arrived we discussed the vehicle for a few minutes and then he got to work. Looks great; no leaks. One note, that I won't ding the stars for: the right side windshield wash nozzle isn't working. The reason I won't hit them for this is that Jonathan told me to keep it dry for 48 hours to let everything set. I'm never one to write reviews, but I genuinely don't think I've felt more disrespected in my entire life. I had an appointment scheduled between 1pm and 6pm to fix a crack in my windshield. No technician ever showed up, and I never received ANY contact from anyone at Safelite. It was after hours and impossible to get through to ANYONE. After an hour of trying, I spoke to a human via the chat feature, and they told me that they reached out to the tech and asked that they contact me with an ETA. I STILL never received any contact. It is now 8pm, and nothing. I purposefully didn't plan anything today so I would be home for this appointment. My entire Saturday was ruined. Called and re-scheduled my appointment 5x!! On their behalf Everytime. Here at my appointment at 10:30 had to wait 2 hours just to get in the shop.... Asked for a eta. was told 2 more hours. Called 2 hours later just to be told 2 MORE hours. After 5 rescheduled appointments. I had talked to bruce the manager. Was not very helpful. Im taking the time out my day hoping to save someone else's. As im leaving the guy who parked my car is scratching his nose with his middle finger lol get a new job if you dont like yours hombre . Individual techs may be fine, but they are utterly disorganized and clearly don't care at all about their customers. Windshield replacement required multiple trips to their location bc they couldn't recalibrate cameras the first time and couldn't do it off site. Gave conflicting and inaccurate information which exacerbated the time delays and led to even more trips back and forth to their shop. And the shop employee who works at teh front desk is an utter joke. What a mess. Unless your insurance company requires you to use them, do yourself a favor and use some place else - there are too many better options than to have your time wasted by this group of clowns. read more

I have a convertible with a glass rear window bonded to the canvas. I called Safelite and they didn't even want to speak to me.

My back glass on my Prius was broken back in June. I was told they didn't have it in stock and they'd let me know when it came in. We are now near the end of August and I've been calling once a week.They still say it's not in and gave me another number to call. 5 phone calls and noone answers the phone. If this wasn't going through my insurance I would try to find it elsewhere but they've already been paid by the insurance company and I still have broken glass. They replaced my windshield and had recalibrated it so many times when it wasn't working the first time that they ended up burning out my camera in my Subaru. When I first went in they told me after 4.5 hours of waiting that I needed an OEM glass(original subaru glass) in order for it to calibrate to my system, only to find out that it wasn't only my glass that needed to be replaced now. I ended up bringing it to the north haven safelite where I had 100% better service than I ever had at the Waterbury safelite. After 2 months of not having any of my safety features, they were able to have the new camera ordered out of pocket from the Waterbury safelite and sent over to the north haven safelite to have it installed. read more

Im sorry I had to click the one star because the deserve none. Two appointments they came with incorrect windshield. My car was scheduled to be at airport so I can fly on business. They guaranteed me Monday between 8-10 it will be installed no worries. They didn't even show up, then said they will give me free wipers. They already owe me for the ones I prepaid for. Said they forgot to send someone but I can drive it to Waterbury with the smashed windshield and I can wait for them to fix it there. Oh and do not worry she said the windshield will not blow out on the way. What is this country comming to. Service is so poor. I waisted a Saturday morning one weekday visit and a no show Monday, the final day I can get it done before I leave. I cancelled this and reported to my insurance company to not use them. My experience with this safelite was a pleasant one! I made an appointment for 9am and whenI arrived they took my car right in for service... that is rare in todays times! The gentlemen at the front desk was polite and very helpful. All the technicians were respectful and communicated with me about the process and progress they were doing to my vehicle... it was supposed to take 3jrs but the got me out of there a little after two hours. I brought my suv there for a window replacement. The guys broke my sensors, broke the cover to my sensor on my windshield. Was suppose to order a new one and call me and they never did! My issue is I had my windshield replaced by Safelite and the trim is coming off. I tried to call but all you get is recordings for scheduling new glass appointments. When I pressed 0 it forwarded me to another automated line that said appointment has to be made on line. Then it disconnected me. No customer service unless you buy something. We had a damaged windshield on our 2017 Subaru Outback, equipped with the Eyesight safety suite. Our insurance company, USAA, sent us there for a replacement. They replaced it with an "aftermarket" windshield and claimed that I it was "calibrated" with the Eyesight system. Three days later as my wife was traveling a town road, the Eyesight mediated automatic braking system engaged, abruptly bringing the vehicle to a stop. Fortunately the following vehicle was able to avoid a collision. We contacted Quality Subaru in Wallingford, CT, and brought the vehicle in. They came out 5 minutes later and stated that such vehicles cannot use "aftermarket" replacement windshields....that they cannot be "calibrated" for the Eyesight Safety System. We called USAA & then Safelite, who made arrangements to install an "OEM" Windshield the next day. I also contacted Subaru USA in NJ, who reported that Safelite had been formally warned on several occasions since 2017, that only OEM Windshields are compatible with Eyesight equipped Subaru's. Thank God, my wife wasn't in rush hour traffic on I-84! read more

Small chip in windshield in line of sight. They came in one day repaired it, so I have nothing bad to say about what they did. He said you will be able to see it after it was done, and you can. So if you have full glass coverage, which 90% of people do, wait till the chip travels enough so they have to replace the windshield. Took care of my cars replacement window in the rear with no issue. Was very understanding when my card was declined due to suspected fraud, and allowed me to call for 20 minutes to fix it with no hassle. However, forgot to vacuum the glass out of my car afterwards and so there's shards all in my back seat. I cut my hand in one of the pieces. Will be vacuuming it out at home. read more

STAY AWAY! Safelite has caused THOUSANDS of dollars in damages to my car that they're trying to not cover!! They came out to re-replace my windshield 3 times, damaged a seal in the process which caused my car to FLOOD. My feet were submerged in water when I got in my car!! The entire time I was assured not to worry because they guarantee their work and the damages would be covered. Guess what?? The quality manager said Safelite won't approve replacement of the radio (that was fine before the flood and stopped working after) or the carpet which had mold and even after vacuuming multiple times is STILL wet a month later. Mini Cooper even sent Safelite a photo of the pad under the carpet that's soaked. What a terrible way to treat a customer especially after all the damage your company has caused! It was a fast and easy process to set up the window repair. The service was scheduled the next day, but there was a problem with the warehouse, the new glass was cracked, so they called to let us know there was a delay. They asked if we could bring the car in, but that just wasn't probably, so they were at our home by 8:15am the next day. The tech was pleasant and responsive. read more

I had them out to replace a window on my van, they came out and brought the wrong size window and told me it would be over a week before they could get the window. I called another company that came the next day to replace it and found the hardware to hold the window in was missing. I called they told me to call back tomorrow and when I did they said they were sending the piece out. When the guy dropped it off he didn't have the screw. He called his boss and put me on the phone I was told they fired the guy and didn't have and wasn't going to get the piece I could use a nail to hold it. Never Ever Again. Go to the dealership. The team at my local shop were great but Saftelite is a horrible horrible company to deal with based on m recent expererience. They replaced my back window glass after it had been shattered. They told me that they may not be able to get all the glass out from the rear panel. Now everytime I open and close the back hatch I hear glass. Stopped back into the shop but they said that they only had vacuum hoses 1-1/2" diameter and bigger. Really? I suggested to get a smaller hose for their vacuum. They indicated that they have tried to get smaller equipment but had not been able to as of yet and did the best they could with the equipment they have. I then called safelite main number and spent over 1/2 hour trying to get a hold of someone through their number. Phone tree from hell. Finally called my insurance company and got to representative from safelite the back way. Was escalated to customer service rep who apologized and told me they would look into it and get back to me. 3 weeks have gone by with no call back or anything. I called again today and another 30 minutes plus wasted on the phone. Finally got to customer service. Some how got to the same customer service representative that I had spoken to weeks earlier and re remembered my case. Did not know why they did not follow up with me after all this time. At the end they said they were not reponsible for glass that falls down in the back panel and that I would have to call my insurance company and put in another claim with an autobody shop to get the glass. out. I think this is ridiculous. If it was trapped in where it was not accessible I would understand but in this case it is a job poorly done due to the shops lack of the proper equipment. Very unhappy. BTW - all the people that I spoke to were polite and professional. They tried as best they could. The companies official stance it that it is not their responsibility and they are not going to do anything to help me further according to a supervisor with first name Angela. I am on the phone with my insurance company to let them know how unhappy I am with my glass replacement with Safelite. Never again. My windshield was cracked by a rock a couple of months ago and my insurance set me up with this Safelite location to repair it. They came to my workplace to repair it. My appointment was supposed to be between 8 and 12, but the guy doing the repairs called me at 7:30 and said if he couldn't do it then, he'd have to reschedule. I was in the middle of something at work and tried to explain to him where my car was in the parking lot (my car is also pretty easy to find because it's a bright color and a model that not many people have). He couldn't find it so I had to stop what I was doing and physically show him the car. Before he worked on the car he told me I'd be able to see the crack even after the repair. After I looked up Safelite repairs I found out that you're not supposed to see it. When I left work, the repair was complete but I could still clearly see the crack. I called to schedule a replacement and they set a date. When the replacement date began approaching, they called me to say the part wasn't in yet and they'd have to reschedule. When they finally fixed it, I noticed that the sides of the new windshield were scratched up all the way around. The person who replaced it also broke a part off my rear view mirror and didn't say anything. I had to call to have the windshield replaced yet again. Luckily the last time was done by a different location who also ordered me a new part for my mirror. The Waterbury Safelite seems to be run by incompetent people who are just trying to get the job done as quickly as possible. If I ever need another windshield repair or replacement I'll look elsewhere. read more

After the glass was repaired there was a significant gap between the edge of the glass and the molding. I pointed it out to the technician who said that was the best he could do. Later that day I called the 800 customer service line who said they would have the manager call me to resolve the issue and that call never came. I called and requested Honda glass, was told there was a 7 day wait for Honda brand glass. After the install I realized they used generic glass. Safelite blamed my insurance company. Insurance Company had no record of OEM request or denial. Called multiple times and got excuses and no resolution. Even manager blamed Safelite phone operators. Overall a very good experience. The technician stayed in contact with me the entire time and explained his process. One issue I had was with scheduling; the crack occurred at an inconvenient time and I had to delay my vacation by a day in order to get the replacement done because the earliest time available they had was a week from the incident date. I drove away an hour after the installation of the new windshield on a 5-hour trip to Vermont and had no issues. There were some hiccups involving my insurance as well as a result of what I assumed to be poor communication between Safelite and my insurance company. Safelite also waited to inform me of this mishap the day before the appointment, causing me to scramble around at last second to make sure I did not have to pay $520 out of pocket to pay for the replacement. My technician also gave me a discount for new wipers, he seemed genuinely concerned and caring for my vehicle and I really appreciated his kindness throughout the entire experience. read more
