Well Safelight failed AGAIN!! 3 times now they have cancelled on me, twice the same person has said there was a scratch when he pulled the glass. Last week it was "raining", barely sprinkles, "but I will come back later today". Called at 4:30, " the sealant in the van is out of date. When I go get more, the shop will make me close out". Really? What have you used ALL day? Rescheduled to last Friday-rain , so I rescheduled for today. Yep, same guy as the first time, same excuse-the glass is scratched. What happened to the one that was here last Monday and scheduled for last Friday? "I don't know ma'am. The manager is trying to get another one from the warehouse". Well you need to have him call me. " I'm not going to lie, it could be 4 or 5 hours for him to call you". NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

They called me 2 times about an hour after I dropped the car to say the replacement windshield was damaged. The second time I asked them to check it before I left the car there... still they called and said it was scratched. I see many reviews with the same issue. Safelight is amazing they were quick professional they were sympathetic our needs during Covid and right after the Arctic blast that Texas got they even had coffee for us and a place for us to wait on vehicles as they did their thing. I had a small chip in my windshield I made my appointment online brought my vehicle in and waited and they took around 15-30 minutes and now you can hardly see the chip and it won't spread any further. I would highly recommend anyone with auto glass issues to look into safelight cause no one can do better read more

Made an in store appointment to get my windshield replaced. Received many texts and emails reminding me of my appointment. Turned up on time, dropped of my vehicle, got a ride home. As soon as I got home they called and said they did not have my windshield in stock. I asked if they check the inventory for the days appointments and was told "we just have too many windshields to know if we do or not"? Once I arrived back at the store they then decided to look up availability and told me Tuesday, I told the woman I can only do Saturdays, so then she comes back with how about Thursday? Really, did I not just say I can only do Saturdays. Their General Manager was out on leave and there was no one else I could talk to. So I am taking my business elsewhere. If you are going to use this location, call before you go and ask them to check they actually have your windshield in the store. read more

UPDATE AT BOTTOM. Called Safelite to schedule an appointment. Corporate said the only location with my car's windshield would be the Baytown location so I drove all the way from Clear Lake to Baytown to get it fixed. After I got there, the mechanic told me the glass he had wasn't the right size for my car and they wouldn't have the right one in for at least a week. I was out of town the week after so I scheduled an appointment for two weeks out at this location since they could ship the correct glass to Webster. The appointment was afternoon on a Thursday (supposed to be today). I got a text Wednesday evening at 5:11pm saying Your appointment has been canceled and you can reschedule one by visiting [insert safelite link]. The link just takes you back to the starting grid for creating any appointment... not even an expedited scheduling system since I've been trying to get a new windshield for almost a month now. Safelite could have at least called me to tell me they don't have space tomorrow and will help me reschedule but canceling all together with no follow up is pathetic. Did I mention that after the first appointment was canceled, they wanted to charge me an extra $100 for the correct glass? Thankfully the woman working the desk at Baytown's location helped cut that back down. She was wonderful. Really hoping Saf customer service improves after this. Update: my second appointment was canceled a day before as well... they reached out to me a day after posting this review and the Webster branch told me the earliest they could do was September, roughly a month after initial appointment. Then of course canceled it the night before again. Good thing I'm done with Safelight... don't use unless going through insurance. Must be the only way to keep an appointment. read more

Do not use this location. We were give a confirmed written quote for a passenger window repair and when we arrived to our appointment, They refused to honor their quote and charged us almost $60 more. The are definitely not honest nor true to the supposed Company commitment. read more

They replaced a windshield in my last car and just repaired a rock chip in my SUV. Each time they were very courteous and professional. With the rock chip, the most recent visit I could be more pleased. The technician actually apologized because he took longer than normal trying to make the repair as near invisible as possible! These people don't even deserve one star. I took my car in with a chip smaller than the size of a dime on the windshield and less than 15 minutes later the guy came back to tell me that (instead of fixing my windshield) the machine they used to try and fix the chip caused the small chip to get larger. When I went to look at my windshield, there was a twelve inch crack across the glass. The guy was unapologetic and rude and now I have to replace my whole windshield . Never come here (especially if you're a broke college student) because they'll just end up doing more damage. My insurance will only cover a windshield chip repair, not a whole windshield replacement. I used Safelite one other time in the past and service was as expected. Nothing great, but no problems. This time, what a pain ! First off, there is no way to call an individual location. No where on the website are there phone numbers for individual locations. Only a main toll free number. Hate that ! So I called that number and while I was setting up the appt, the person said they did not offer any shuttle service or Uber to get me to work. I would have to do mobile and the nearest mobile guy was a 3 hour drive away. Reality is...there is a shop 5 miles from home and a mile from work. And they do mobile...all day long. I finally got the person on the phone to figure that out and we scheduled the appt. The mobile guy was very courteous but was reluctant to do work on a lifted truck for fear of damaging the truck. He suggested in-shop and they DID in fact offer Uber. He would notify the office and they would contact me to schedule. They never contacted me. I contacted the mobile guy and rattled his cage and then the office finally called me. They said "sorry, no Uber, no shuttle", and I'm not walking a mile crossing highways with no sidewalks in the dark and rain. Oh...and with my insurance they wanted to charge me my $500 deductible. We were referred to SAFELITE by our insurance company as their trusted partner to replace a broken windshield on our Toyota. We had to wait for hours for the replacement, only to find out the generic windshield they installed was not compatible with the car safety cameras and they wouldn't calibrate. They promised to order the right part, but after 3 weeks of no responses and intense follow up, their answer to insurance is still 'we need to see and order the part'. A proper Toyota dealership confirmed they could get us the part in 24 hours. Still no response from Safelite. read more

BEWARE...I am writing this to save someone else a NIGHTMARE! Safelite is a terrible company and CAN NOT fix your windshield! What their scam is they claim to be able to repair any rock chip smaller than a dollar. Well when they come out they purposely crack your windshield and then right after they crack it they hand you a pamphlet stating " We are not responsible for crackling your windshield while trying to repair it" and then they try to sell you a new windshield ($400 for my case). So after Safelite comes out or you go to shop and pay either by insurance or paying yourself they do not care if you aren't happy with the repair cause now they try to trap you and force you to buy a new windshield from them after purposely cracking your windshield. SAFELITE IS A SCAM---BEWARE I am trying to warn others so you aren't in my situation. Oh and their "Lifetime Warranty" doesn't exist SCAM!!!!! do not go here! awful customer service and horrible management. I ordered my BMW windshield, made my appointment, took off work to arrive for my appointment (made 3 days prior) to be told after my car was there 2 hours that they did not have the windshield. they rescheduled for the next day, took off work again, to deliver my car again for the scheduled appointment to then get a call to tell me that my camera was sending them codes and they cannot install the windshield. I could tell they were lying to me, so I conferenced in BMW and BMW said if codes were coming up, they would not clear out until the issues was resolved. now they would not install my windshield that they already filed a claim for on my insurance and took my credit card for my deductible. the manager was a total jerk and now I have no idea what damage they have done to my car. Side note, they left my car unlocked in the parking lot by the road the day before. Do not say, I did not warn you. Stay far away as you are safer driving around with a cracked windshield. read more

Got a new windshield over the weekend and when I went to work the next day I notice the rear view mirror is vibrating. It has never done this before because the car isn't that old. I looked at it and discovered that they didn't put the mirror on centered and it's not attached completely to the windshield, therefore it moves. Now I get to go in again and get this fixed. Safelite specializes in replacing windshields. Why can't they put a rear view mirror back on correctly? And I can't forget to mention the wonderful hours of only 8-5. read more

Totally annoying telephone contact system. Why is it always "higher than normal call volume"? Really? Always? Very difficult to get thru to the local store without being put on hold and dealing with intrusive call center peeps. Normally when you go to a "professional" shop they should have all the correct tools to make sure they get the job done correctly right? Yet you mean to tell me that my vehicle is 10 years old and you don't have the "correct" tool to take the rear view mirror off so instead just rip it off and glue it back on to the mounting bracket and don't say anything to the customer. Now I'm not the brightest bulb in the box but my vehicle is not a "1 of 1" but damn you see one every other car passing by and I'm pretty sure that they have the same exact windshield yet they still don't have the 1 correct tool to take the mirror off???? Now when you call the "customer service" (useless automated bull crap) and they can't connect you to the store your trying to call. So you have to jump through hoops just to even try to call the store and come to find out that "oh sorry when can you come in so we can go over and look at it and make sure it's not broke or something we did. " Now in my situation they are supposed to take BEFORE & AFTER pictures to ensure that there where no damages before they started. These idiots can't even take before pictures so they take AFTER pictures and try to say they where the before pictures. How are you going to try and say the same pictures you said where the "before" pictures are the same as the "after" pictures. I've seen how your supposed to take out and put in a windshield and that shouldn't take but 30 minutes max. Here at the Webster store there isn't a fast bone in any of the workers there, the manager, technicians, customer service. Ha lol customer service what a joke. Furthermore if your going to bad mouth a customer after you get off the phone with them, make sure you don't have a store front full of paying customers that listen to your conversations. All in all what a shitty place and a terrible company to deal with just trying to get your windshield fixed and then having them cause more damage, causing more time out of your day and more headaches and more stress. If you really want quality glass and quality customer service find someone on Facebook marketplace that does vehicle glass repair and you will have a better time with them then you will with Safelite. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. Missed multiple appointments for mobile glass replacement. Can't call them because they don't answer their phones. The corporate schedulers can't even reach them. When the corporate office finally did got a hold of them, I was promised a call in 10 minutes. The call never came. I went to the store on Saturday. There were techs sitting around doing nothing, but I was told there were no available appointments for that day. The person at the desk told me to they couldn't do anything to help except make me another mobile appointment for next week. Do yourself a favor avoid this company if you can. Our recent experience with Safelite Auto Glass of Webster Texas was disastrous! The appointment was on time, but after removing the original windshield of our Motorhome, After the technician removed the windshield, he informed us that he would not be allowed to complete the installation because there were some rust and small holes located around the window frame. Although he had inspected for rust before removing the windshield, after removing it, he found some rust and explained the policy of Safelite Auto Glass was to stop the installation until the holes and the rust had been repaired to Safelite Auto Glass's specifications. He also said it was against policy to put back the removed windshield, cleaned up and left us with a motorhome that could not even be driven to a repair shop because of the missing windshield. He suggested we have it towed! There was a prediction of rain so we hastily covered the window with plastic and a tarp to prevent inside damage to our newly restored Motor Home, at which time, it started to rain. I would encourage anyone choosing Safelite to carefully read their policies so you are not left in the same or similar predicament. We will not have Safelite return to complete their work. In fact, we found a local vendor who happily made the repairs needed to install the glass, and completed the job that Safelite abandoned for one third cost. read more

If you own a Subaru, stay away from this place for windshield repair!! Today was the THIRD trip here to get my windshield replaced and my Ascent working!! First trip was a 45 minute drive to them and a 3 1/2 hour drop off repair time for my car! The guy in the office at Safelite said then that they have trouble working with Subaru's technology. When I got my car back, the rain sensor for the windshield wipers didn't work. Called Safelite and set up an appointment to bring it back so they could repair that. After 45 minutes the technician told us they couldn't repair it and needed to order a factory OEM windshield. Why they didn't do that first who knows.....set up the third appointment. Drove another 45 minutes to drop the car off. We have had to drive 2 vehicles twice now so they can keep the car for 3-4 hours each time! No one called to tell us the car was ready, we had to call them. Went to pick up the car and were being charged the $500 deductible AGAIN and the office manager guy says we have to charge it because I gave it back to you from the first time we couldn't repair the windshield but by the way, you will have to take your Ascent to a dealer to get that rain sensor working again!!! So the bottom line is we had to pay our deductible even though they did not repair our windshield!! And Subaru says they will charge to repair the sensor unless we go through our insurance!!!! Highly recommended- Excellent service! I came by as a walk-in late in the day, and they were able to take care of my 2 windshield chips in less than an hour. The quality of the work was excellent, and really lessened how bad each of the chips looked as well. They even gave me a discount since I had more than 1 to repair! This was significantly less than I would have had to pay if I'd booked online & had them come out to my house. Started of good. The website is great, easy to get your replacement started. They initially rescheduled me, which was fine as well, they reached out and gave me new options. Everything was great till this point. Then it was time for my appointment. I showed up and i was going to be waiting for the car to be fixed. When i got there, i gave the keys to the person at the desk, they told me it will be about 1.5 hours. No problems so far, instead of waiting outside in the cold, I went around the corner to startbucks. But it went downhill from here. I waited for 2 hours. I didnt get an update and the status on the website was still saying not started. I tried calling and it would go to the main call center, and when they tried to connect me, they said that the person at the office was dealing with another customer and will call me back. I asked for an ETA and did not get one. So i thought i would give it 15 mins. Then i got a call back about 20 mins later. The guy said that, they checked and they dont have the glass so my car would not be fixed today. At this point i had been waiting for 2 hours. I was expecting my car to be completed. They did not even think to call me and tell me this? When i told them, i am waiting for them untill they finish? Why would you waste someones time? People have jobs, kids, family to take care of. If you dont have the parts, no problem, let us know before hand, or at least when we get there? Why would you have someone wait 2 hours and then tell them that you dont have the glass. Its been 3 weeks since i started the replacement process online and they rescheduled in the middle, you couldnt figure out the glass in 3 weeks? I called 3 dealers, and gave them my VIN and the ETA on getting a new glass is 3 business days, so i dont buy any BS about glass shortage. Either way, dont waste my time. read more

1. Fake warranty 2. Then the tech. tapped the small dime sized, x shaped crack with their own like instrument, the crack started to spread in one direction, they then put pressure on the crack to squeeze in the resin and the crack slowly spread further and went all the way down to the bottom edge. Another crack popped up going to the middle of the glass stretching ~4 inches to the driver's side. This continued to spread another 4 inches the next day and then another 4 inches the day after that. The tech and customer service stated confidently that this side will not spread, yet it continues to do so, more every day. Another side of the x crack that the tech was not able to fill stayed the same the next day but grew about 6 inches the day after. I let the tech charge me, after she offered not to if I didn't want to, on account of the initial spread. I did so because she said that I have a warranty that will likely reimburse me anyway and she has to collect a charge. That was a mistake.. When I called customer care they told me the warranty doesn't reimburse me, rather they will subtract the amount from the windshield replacement charge, if I choose to do so. They started with a total of $428, negotiation ensued and couple hours later we still ended up about $75 higher than the market rate despite warranty reimbursement and discounts added by the manager. Lastly the manager just instructed the staff to reimburse the $50 back to my account... I am still waiting on that. read more
