Kim Van Wieren came out to do my in-home estimate, and he brought a massive amount of samples to look through. After coordinating with my sister who lives overseas, we settled on a colour and amount of transparency. Once the shades were ready, Kim came back out and did the installation. I could not be happier with the quality and the overall look. Switching from the old dated plastic miniblinds to modern shades made the room really come alive. This was the BEST decision I could have made and Kim was so patient and kind throughout the whole process.

I was notably nervous, moving into a new home - unsure of this company and how long it would take. Hector, Scott and team not only addressed all of my concerns, but did everything in their power to move as quickly as possible so we could enjoy our new home. The first day was all prep, they covered up every area that the teams would have to move in and out of the house to prevent damage. I was pleasantly surprised to see they cared for my home as much as I did. The damage was extensive (though the promised it wasn't as bad as they had seen lol). We needed to not only dry the water damage, but also re-sand/ stain wood flooring, replace carpeting, sheetrock, baseboards, tile, a bathroom vanity, among other things. The full remediation and repair took a little under a month. The team worked with me to ensure every selection worked for us, allowed us to upgrade carpet (past what insurance would cover for like to like replacement), in addition to replace in additional rooms. The inspector, JT, was friendly and clear spoken and took his time going through everything. He used some kind of high-tech equipment to measure our floors and figure out how much our slab was off, then walked us through all his findings in plain English. Turns out we didn't need any major foundation work right now (which was a huge relief!), but JT still gave us some great tips on how to prevent future issues. I really appreciated how honest he was -- no pressure, no upselling, just straightforward advice. It's nice to know there are still honest foundation companies out there that care more about helping people than just making a quick buck. Gave a hour and a 10 min notification of arrival. He walked the exterior and interior of the house. He pointed out possible concerns. Eventually brought in a machine and took multiple measurement throughout the house. He explained what was considered acceptable. He gave me recommendations on how to help my foundation, and what to look out for. He was very relaxed and informative. He wasn't pushy or trying to push me into getting foundation work done. I have been working with Aran and Franklin for 3.5 years. Now it is my turn to critique their work…read moreand give you my opinion of this company. My first two houses with them went pretty smooth. I had an inspector named Matt. He was pretty easy to work with. For the third house they had fired Matt (I was later told he wasn't doing his job) and sent in Rudy to straighten out their big mess that they let Matt create. Rudy has the personality of a fence post, nice kid, but he was not a diplomat and they needed Henry Kissinger to clean up what Matt was allowing. I should have left them after the first house with Rudy. He will measure your nail spacing, he will argue with you over a 2.5" nail and the only nail you can buy is a 2.25". Just split hairs with me every time he came on my job. He finally quit. Don't blame him. The main office is a mess. I wanted to develop a two story for my company and AF took 8 months to do it. I missed the whole spring selling season and had to finish the house in 4 months of 98 degrees. I'm 65. I had the plans in my court for about a month while I worked with the draftsperson, but the other 7 months was me begging AF to get my project finished. My coordinator was Estella. She is incompetent. She will never acknowledge an email you send her, even if you ask her to do so. She will never move your project unless you are pestering her. Terrible. She would work for my company for a week and gone!! The city of Galveston requires two exit doors on the house. AF knows this and they sent me out the door with one exit door. It did not get caught at the city at plan approval, but did at final inspection. I put a door in the side of the house which was the only place it could go. Chandra tried to tell me I should have come back to them to design the door. I was pissed. YOU let me go out the door with plans that don't comply with the city requirements and you are going to tell me what I should have done. Their GM is David Franklin. He is Chandra's executioner and he will deliver the bad news that you have to tear something off and rebuild it. Their plans consist of 30 pages of fine print that cover every possible situation even if it does not apply to your house. They even include some multi-family specifications and you have to wade through 30 pages of fine print and decide what applies to you and what doesn't and if you get it wrong and you build it wrong, YOU are going to tear it off and you are going to pay for it. They will email you the prints, no discussion about we designed it this way - NONE. They already have your money, so they don't care about you once they deliver the prints to you. YOU are on your own for the most part and if you have a problem. They are closed from 12-1 every day for lunch and if Dmitri is off on Friday he will have lots to do on Monday and he won't call you back until Tuesday. It does not matter if you have $100/hr of trades standing there to attack a problem you encountered. The engineer is unavailable and it might be 2 or 3 days before they get back to you. In the meantime, you have made a decision, and it better be right, because you will tear it out if they do not like it. Happened to me several times and David will tell you "You do our way and we will approve it, you do it your way and we won't". I cannot think of a professional word to describe that guy. I can think of some 4 letter words. I just finished my last house with them and the reason I am expressing my opinion in this review. I called for the final inspection on a half million $ house and it took me 3 weeks get them to give me the paperwork. It doesn't matter if you have a closing to make. Their new inspector is Carlos and Carlos would not give me answers as to what two small items I needed to address because he was not on the clock. He really wouldn't do anything for me unless he was on the clock. In summary, and all of this entire review is my opinion, these people care only about protecting their liability and you will have to pay extra for it. They will not give you an orientation when you get your plans about how they designed it. That is for you to figure out. Their list of inspections is terrible. You'll have to figure out how to do it right. They have taken way too long on all of my projects. If it wasn't for Tim and Rachel, I would give them a 0 if it was an option. They are the only two that care. Chandra is off opening offices in Florida and she can't even run the office she has in Texas City. Don't be fooled by the cheap price. It will cost you lots in the long run and you won't sleep cause you are just so pissed about your relationship with your engineer that you hired to work for you. My last email to Chandra was never responded to. She's not responding to me because she knows she will never see any of my money again !!! The truth is when you hire them, you work for them, and don't forget it !!! All I can say is RUN.

Just to ensure all details of the situation are true and accurate…read more This was not an after hours service call as I received my paid in full invoice shortly after 5pm. It was initially explained from Mike that the labor to install the new panel was included after I questioned the pricing on what was charged. Also what type of business would try to insult someone's personal intelligence at all let alone post it publicly. Shows the true colors of a person when they go to this level. Keep pricing transparent fair and consistent and you won't have future opportunities. I would recommend to others to ensure you know what you are going to be charged upfront as they stated they would do and did not happen. Once again technicians that came out were great with no issues with the work. UPDATE: True colors of an individual come out as seen in the review. Business owner Mike thinks he can take a bully approach to solve his problems. What comes goes around definitely comes around. Others beware the approach this business takes on taking care of its customers and their surprise billing practices. I will not be responding going forward on Mike's responses as all can make decisions based off what has been submitted and owner's response. Opportunities happen in business and it all depends how you handle them and how you treat your customers. Have a good day! :)
