I was forced to use Safelite by State Farm, who claimed they would not cover the cost otherwise. After this experience, I see why Safelite relies on insurance mandates rather than quality service to get customers. Failed First Appointment: My first window was Thursday, 8 AM-1 PM. I took off work, but no one showed. They called at noon to reschedule and were dishonest about the reason for the delay. Broken Promises: I specifically explained I could not take more time off work. They assured me a 4 PM Monday slot was fine. The Monday Fiasco: On Monday, they called at 1 PM demanding I be home immediately or they would "have to reschedule" yet again. When I spoke to the technician, he admitted I was his last job and he was currently sitting idle with no other appointments. Unprofessional Management: The "shop manager" refused to give her name and was incredibly rude and interduces herself as the "The lady who runs the shop". She made it clear that her priority was not the customer's schedule, but ensuring her technician didn't get paid to wait for the actual appointment time she had already confirmed. This shop is run with a complete lack of integrity. If your insurance gives you a choice, go anywhere else. If they don't, be prepared for them to waste your time and treat you with zero respect. read more

This was, without question, one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I had my windshield replaced in February through Safelite via my insurance (Travelers). The installation seemed fine at first, but earlier this month my vehicle suddenly broke down and had to be towed. The shop found multiple electrical issues, repaired them, and then the same problem happened again a week later. After further inspection, the mechanic discovered water leaking through the windshield, which was soaking the vehicle's electrical system and causing all the failures. I was specifically asked if I had a recent windshield replacement--clearly pointing to the installation as the root cause. I contacted Safelite, and initially they acknowledged the warranty and scheduled a technician to inspect the vehicle at the dealership, since the car was not safe to drive. The very next day, I received a call from a representative, Mykala, stating they could not perform a leak inspection outside their shop. I explained multiple times that the car is undrivable and unsafe, and cannot be moved. She said she would speak with her supervisor. What happened next was completely unacceptable. The supervisor refused to help, raised her voice at me, dismissed the safety concern, and ultimately hung up on me. Shortly after, my warranty claim was denied and the appointment was canceled. Not only was the issue caused by improper installation, but I have now spent over $2,000 repairing electrical damage directly linked to water leaking through the windshield. At no point did they take accountability or even acknowledge the possibility of fault. Instead, I was treated with disrespect and disregard. This experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. After taking your money, this is how customers are treated--dismissed, disrespected, and left to deal with the consequences. Worst customer service I have ever recieved. I tried to replace the windshield on my acura mdx. After three appointments, the shop was unable to fix my vehicle. They often do not answer the phone. Wednesday, July 31 Cracked windshield for our 2012 Range Rover HSE replaced at home address. Thursday, August 1 Rain entering the vehicle from the windshield on the drivers side. Called and informed Safelite and arranged for warranty repair Friday, August 9 Visited the 9412 Grant Avenue location in Manassas at 10am. Windshield replaced however, both interior columns were damaged. I was informed that the new columns would be ordered and replaced at my home address. Thursday, September 5 Technician arrives at home address to install columns. Passenger side column is correct. Drivers side column is the wrong side and wrong color. I have called repeatedly to obtain an update on the replacement column and have been told that the issue has been escalated. I have called again this morning (Tuesday, September 17) and have been told that the Manassas location has not received any responses from the parts department and no update can be provided. Appointment Setup was easy, 1st appointment was done online. I chose this location to proximity of Potomac Mills mall and seemed to be better than the Merrifield location. When I arrived, waited about 10 mins to tell me the windshield they ordered was broken. Setup another appointment to have the glass reordered. Arrived for the 2nd appointment, and windshield replacement took about 1.5 hours. Everything looked great and they transfer the state inspection sticker over. My biggest worry was the window replacement calibrating with Honda Sense. Its been about 2 months and I can say there's no leak, and I tested the Honda sense on the highway and worked as expected. I can say they did a great job, it should be 4.5 because I had to make two trips. read more

I recently had to have my windshield replaced and the safelite personnel ensured a smooth process. There ended up being an issue with my replacement windshield (through no fault of safelite) which caused a delay in repair and they handled the situation fairly and in a timely manner. I would like to specifically recognize the manager Roxanne who was pleasant to deal with and explained every step of the process. After a rock decided to invade my windshield and bless me with a starburst, I began my journey to find somewhere to go to get it fixed. After calling the toll free number, I was able to call and make an appointment the same week. It was easy to schedule the appointment. I arrived a little late due to local area traffic and was still greeted with a smile and a friendly attitude. After confirming my last name, we walked outside to look at the damage. I was advised that there is always the possibility of the damage spreading when they put the machine on to fix it. Not saying it would happen, the likelihood is slim but it is still a possibility. After agreeing and finding a spot to sit in the waiting area, I began my roughly 45 minute wait. Sure enough about 45 minutes latter, Tyrell, the technician advised me i was good to go. He fully explained what they did and how it would look, literally like a bug was on the window, which it really does. He went over all the things to know, warranty info and handed my my to go informational pamphlet and I was on my way. Ten thumbs up for Tyrell! The service was timely, staff was very friendly and the waiting area was spacious and clean. Btw, double check with your insurance company before you pay out of pocket, my companies cover repairs at no charge to you. Safelite was alright! read more

I called and they asked if I remembered the code! I said no. I didn't think I needed to since I had already paid! They then said they would take off the $80 but I still owed another $5.29. Quick summary: The customer service at this location is truly abysmal. Do not expect to be treated as a human, with the employees exhibiting either civility or compassion. I now realize that there are a large number of highly reputable alternative options that have much higher ratings (5.0 vs. Safelite's 3.4) and treat their customers in a cordial manner. Additionally, a number of these options are 50% to 75% less expensive, come directly to you, and have significantly fewer negative reviews. If you require a windshield replacement, please do yourself a favor and choose another provider. Backstory: I called and made an appointment for what I thought would be a warranty repair and was asked to send a picture of the window - prior to coming. In fairness, I did not have time to do this and simply showed up for my appointment. The customer service representative walked out to my car, took one look at the windshield, and immediately stated that the crack came from an impact - that is not covered by the warranty - in both a brusque and overly condescending manner. It is one thing to deny the warranty replacement, but to make the customer feel terrible while doing so is reprehensible. This was exacerbated by the store manager of the location, who is only marginally more respectful than his employee. I was given the options of paying for it out of pocket or submitting another insurance claim. While I considered my choices, I remembered waiting for more than 90 minutes during my original repair, even though I had made a reservation. When it was finally completed, the cover to my lane detection warning system was left on the floor and the windshield laser was not properly calibrated/aligned. I had needed to bring it to another shop to have it fixed, since I was out of town when I recognized the source of my problem. After considering how I was treated (especially given I was a former customer) and the quality of service received, I decided to seek an alternate provider (A+ Auto Glass, 5-star rated). Initially I was a little concerned when they arrived to change my glass for my Toyota van with a scratched front window. I requested that they bring me a new one and they were kind enough to obliged. We were able to reschedule for another day.The new technician arrived on schedule was able to install it within 30 minutes and gave me directions on how to make sure that I could take care of it changed out all of the stickers was very kind and very courteous. They are lazy and made an appointment for 4:00, had to call insurance to confirm something and after 20 min on the phone with insurance, they said they were told to cancel the job WHICH INSURANCE SAID DID NOT HAPPEN. On the day of the service, the technician pointed out to me the black smudges left on the driver's side pillar and admitted that they were his doing and that he tried his best to clean them off. He was forthright and said that they would order a replacement pillar and replace it, free of charge. The receptionist corroborated this and said she'd get back to me after her boss orders the parts. The next morning, while driving in the morning sun, I noticed many smudges and some leftover glue on different areas on my windshield. I called to let them know that it did not look like a fresh new windshield. They sent someone soon afterward to clean it. I inquired about the pillar and was told it was in-process. I was okay with waiting, at this point. It has now been 5 weeks and many inquiry phone calls later, and still there is no date planned to replace the pillar - that they pointed out was their fault and offered to replace! The people might seem nice, but there is something off about this place. Each time we call we get exactly the same run-around - she will check with her: department, boss, corporate, etc. and get right back to us, so that we are all on the same page. Then nothing. This business is totally scam I have 2 stories with them First time was with my 1st band new car I had a Small chip on my car windshield i called my insurance since ot was in the middle and I was worry to get bigger The insurance recommended them to come to my house to fix it and they scheduled appointment for that then the technician came and worked to fix it with no experience and the result was big crack as soon I drove the car I went to the shop to replace the whole windshield the used aftermarket glass I paid the deductible and i called my insurance they informed me that I had the right to get OEM glass since it is brand new Even after the installation they left the window panel open inside the car Second time with my second Brand new car i got a crack on my windshield and i went to them since i knew they work with my insurance But this time i requested OEM glass They told me they will contact my insurance and they will call me back After one day on one called me and i had to go to the shop they give me the price for aftermarket about $1200 and for the oem 2200 and the insurance will just cover the aftermarket and i had to pay the difference after argument i accepted it then they asked me to pay $1000 out of the pocket and scheduled me one week to order it After a week i went to the according to the schedule they told me they got the aftermarket and if i insist i have to wait 1 month since the dealership doesn't have the part I got upset I called the dealership they informed me that they have the part I went to change it in windshield city which is dealership certified They just charged me the deductible And i got the oem windshield+calibration without any extra cost This business is totally scams dont waste your mony or your time there Do some shopping you will fine more professional and honest places to get for what you deserve read more

Had to bring my van back 2 times to get it right. First time dash against glass not installed correctly, the A pillar dirty with hand prints, radio not working correctly. They got the dash fixed and cleaned up hand prints and the antennae was not snapped into radio correctly. Second time they forgot to install the door gasket correctly.... Wanted our 2016 Toyota Tacoma windshield changed which turn into a huge mess. "Technician" was suppose to call at 8am but didn't hear from him until 10:55am. When he came he looked super anxious. Barely looks at the windshield and says they ordered him the wrong window. Quickly calls his office and says he can't do it. Then he tells my husband, who took the day off for this, that it required a special modeling that somehow was taken off the glass which is bs because in the back of the truck they have huge boxes full of modelings. The guy quickly leaves. My husband calls their office number and the customer service rep quickly transfers my husband to the manager, Don Oiah. He was pretty rude and kept saying that windshield needed a special modeling which again is bs. My husband just wanted to get it fixed and the manager said no one can come until Monday. My husband asks to speak to Don's boss. Don rudely says to call the office because he is on his cell and can't transfer. My husband calls again the office and gets the owners number. By this time my husband is done with the whole ordeal so calls A&B Auto Glass in Manassas VA (703-898-6593) and confirmed that no special modeling is needed and can be here to change it the same day. I had to replaced my windshield due to a crack from a flying rock. I do not mind paying an arm and a leg for it as long as I am satisfied. I dropped my vehicle off around 0900 and got a call around 1430 to pick up my vehicle. I was very unsatisfied and even disappointed in their customer service. My vehicle is from NY (we have inspection and registration sticker on the windshield). First off, they failed to tell me they messed up my inspection sticker so badly that you can hardly tell what it is. It looks like a blue mess. The writing is gone. They did not just peeled it off ... they scraped it off ... I had to point it out. Secondly, when I brought it up, the person I spoke to was rude and unprofessional. Instead of apologizing and telling me there was nothing they could do. He never once said sorry, he just looked at me and said, "Those stickers aren't meant to come off. You're just going to have to go back to NY to get another one." Are you kidding me??? What kind of service is that ?!!!! Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like COVID-19 in its purest form. I just finished dealing with Durane, the most disrespectful technician from Safelite Auto glass, and his boss Don. It started yesterday when I received an email stating my technician (Durane) would give me advance notice of his arrival within an 8-5 time period (which is the whole workday). Like most people, I work during the week but live relatively close (10 minutes away) from my home. Durane calls me as he is down the street from my house merely minutes away and starts giving me a hard time being disrespectful about not being home even though he gave no realistic notice of his arrival within the nine-hour block. If this is not ridiculous enough, it was raining so he met me at a friend's garage and refused to give me a minute to move things out of the way so my car can get serviced. He stated "he had been waiting long enough", yet he had just got to the garage. He began to argue with me and just resulted in telling me to reschedule. I tried calling Don (the Woodbridge manager) and he was no better than Durane. Instead of addressing the issue like a real manager, all he did was hang up like a coward. I am honestly shocked at the incompetence and lack of professionalism of a company that should be known for its high standards. AGAIN: Public beware - look at some of the negative reviews on this place. Do yourself a favor, save yourself the aggravation of dealing with this unprofessional & disrespectful Safelite shop in Woodbridge, VA. I plan on going to the better business bureau and reporting my experience about Don and his employee to every social media outlet possible. I also plan on doing everything possible for USAA not to refer our men and women in uniform to a shop as unprofessional as this one. I have a car with the camera on the windshield that requires in shop calibration. Safelite did a good job, but the guy who did it and checked me out was not very good with his personal skills. I got a receipt via email, but no call saying my car was done. I was. Lose so decided to drive by and saw my car was done. I went in to check and it seemed like my tech forgot to complete the process by calling me. He then said that when I got a survey, that if I gave him anything less than an 8 out of 10, it would be like giving him a zero. I asked him why they have the ratings of zero to 7? This location is the worst location I've ever been to. And I NEVER write Yelp reviews. The location manager is RUDE. The technicians also rushed the job of calibrating my vehicle so now I have to have it done again. I was in tears with my insurance company because the manager tried to charge me over $1,300 out of pocket saying the claim was denied - which it was not, and the insurance company was also livid for how they represented them. Our 2nd broken windshield in 18 months! Safelite did a superb job of taking care of repairing it. My only job was to call our insurance and then show up at the scheduled time at Safelite. Like other people who have commented on Safelite AutoGlass I was referred by my auto insurance (USAA). As a matter of fact, USAA is using Safelite to handle all broken glass claims. In my case, Safelite I was using the mobile technician service from this store. Customer Service (Setting Appointment): This part of the experience was ok. I called my insurance company (USAA) and the phone system automatically routed me to a Safelite Customer Service Rep. The first available appointment was for a week later. I asked if I could have the glass replaced somewhere else, they say yes but they had to be enrolled in their system. I asked if there was a cap on how much USAA would pay if I take it someplace else and this kindergarten drop-out was hooked on the $100 deductible. Yes, the two customer service reps I spoke with sounded like elementary school drop-outs. Unable to comprehend anything. I decided to avoid hazel and schedule an appointment with them. Within minutes I got a confirmation email and everything sounded good. HOW WRONG I WAS! Customer Service (Day of the Appointment): I classify the service at this time to be somewhere between "poor and piss poor." My two hour appointment window was from 0800AM to 10:00AM. It is now 10:25AM and no technician. I called the 800 number and ask if the technician was in route. I was put on hold and then the customer service rep came back and told me I needed to call the shop because she could not get a hold of the technician or the shop. "they are not answering the phone." WTF! If they don't answer the phone for you what make you think they will answer it for me. DUUHHH! Is like a politician trying over and over to implement the same policies that have failed in the past and expect a different outcome. Technician: The technician finally showed up and replaced the glass. He knew I was furious and was smart enough to stay away from me and do his job. The replacement was done in a very professional way. He was very knowledgeable and careful not to scratch or damage anything. He asked me if I knew the owner of the car parked next to me because he would like to have that vehicle moved as a precaution. After the technician completed the installation and gave me the warranty orientation and told me not to wash the truck until Monday to allow the sealer to cure, he apologized for being late and showed me in his system the problem. It appears for Safelite standard appointment window is four hours and USAA required them to have a two hour appointment windows. The Safelite system can "book" a two hour appointment window, but it is not smart enough to give those type of appointments priority over the the four hour. As a result the appointments are scheduled in the order they are received. My appointment was the 4th one for the day sandwiched between four hour appointments. If the technician had not been planning when to take lunch, and noticed my appointment, he would not have shown up until 11:30AM read more
