I recently had service done here on my 2023 Jeep Wrangler. The original issue I brought my vehicle in for was eventually repaired, although it took a little over a month to get everything completed. However, upon receiving my vehicle back, I immediately noticed scratch marks on all three removable soft-top window panels--the rear, left, and right windows. It literally looks like someone took a pen and scratched all over the surface of the plastic. These damages were NOT there when I brought my vehicle in. I came back and brought the damage to their attention, but they refused to take accountability for it. This is extremely disappointing and unacceptable. I trusted this shop with my vehicle, and I expected it to be returned to me in the same condition I brought it in. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND PEOPLE TO COME TO THIS SHOP. BEWARE!!! YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE DAMAGED WHILE IT IS HERE BEING REPAIRED. To make matters worse, I initially thought one of the workers had left my keys inside the vehicle. I drove up the street to get gas and realized the keys were not in the Jeep. I eventually discovered that the keys had been left ON THE HOOD OF MY VEHICLE. I had literally been driving around with my keys sitting on the hood. I have now filed another complaint with my insurance regarding these NEW damages, but it appears I may have to pay out of pocket to have the windows repaired or replaced. These scratches have made my Jeep look significantly more worn out and several years older. The windows now look absolutely hideous, and this damage should never have happened in the first place. I strongly recommend taking pictures and documenting the condition of your vehicle BEFORE leaving it at this shop. I certainly wish I had known I would need to do that. Update**** I recently found out they tried to fix my car with tape, this is ridiculous, this place needs to be shut down honestly. I've been stressed out getting my windows fixed because of this place and now I have to deal with this. read more

I had to take my car to a repair shop because my rear bumper fell off (long story) while out of state. I spoke with my insurance company and they gave me Tan Auto Body as one of the shops I could take my car to. I called them and they told me they work directly with progressive insurance- so I dropped my car off. They also work with enterprise rent a car so that was easy! They called me the next day with an estimate and said progressive had approved the repair. They kept me informed about the status of the repair and had my car ready a day earlier than anticipated. My car looks brand new! Not only does the bumper look great but my entire car, inside and out, looks brand new! I hope my bumper doesn't fall off again, but if it does, or I need any kind of repair I know where I'm going! Highly recommend!!! read more

I'm relieved that I finally sold my car, which had extensive work done by Tan Auto. Working with a body shop that's supposed to perform $20k worth of repairs but provides almost no communication--unless you initiate it--was beyond frustrating. When I first dropped off my car, I was assured that the ceramic coating and scratch-free paint would be untouched. However, when I picked it up, I was horrified to see that their technician had used a buffer, leaving swirl marks all over the paint. Every angle revealed new imperfections. Despite Tan Auto claiming the car was ready for pickup, I immediately noticed over 10 issues that still needed attention. This turned into months of repeatedly bringing the car back, only to have more sloppy, inadequate fixes. For instance, when my side skirt was scratched by their team, they attempted to cover it up with textured spray paint instead of properly repairing it. This lack of accountability was truly disappointing. He even failed to repair my knuckle that was blatantly broken in the rear and when I took my car into the dealer they had to notice it and saw the rest of the botched work. His frame "repair" was barely done but he still charged on the estimate that he replaced the portion of damaged frame and took out my dash to do it. When I brought this up they said they would fix it but after asking so many times I even gave up. In an attempt to correct the swirl marks, they buffed the car again x2 but left polish residue all over the plastic trim, which is notoriously difficult to remove and nearly impossible to restore to its original look. When I raised these issues with Tan and his staff, he denied responsibility, claiming he'd never do that--even though I had a video documenting the car's condition before I brought it back. Ultimately, I had to return the car to Tan Auto more than 10 times for fixes to problems they created, including mismatched paint, loose bolts, additional scratches, and rattling noises. The lack of accountability and attention to detail was unbelievable. At this point, I'd rather have totaled my car than go through this ordeal again. read more

My car was still drivable, so the next day I took my car to Tan Autobody and Paint in Woodbridge, VA. Mike did an estimate on my car right away. I informed my insurance company, USAA, on the day of the accident and updated my claim with Mike's estimate. The lady in the front office made the entire repair process extremely easy for me. When they found a broken headlight after disassembling the car, the staff quickly updated the estimate with my insurance company and order the light immediately. My quote went up from 800 to 1100 then when I agreed on 1100 and dropped of the vehicle next day I get a call saying they ordered the wrong part and the new total is 1500. How does this make sense? Great value and workmanship. My 2004 Honda Accord's clear coating on the surface started to peel away. Tan Autobody gave me a very reasonable quote. Although they had told me they were busy, I was able to get my car back in a shorter amount of time than I had expected. They did a fantastic job! I couldn't believe how great my 13 year old car now looks - as if it's brand new! When I picked up my car, I noticed that the interior of my car was thoroughly cleaned, a complimentary service I did not expect to get. (When a Honda dealer fixed my car several years ago, they did not clean my car at all.) Tan Autobody did a better job cleaning my car than most car wash places I have ever been to. My insurance company sent my car to these guys twice for work to be performed. The first time, Tan's failed to remove a major dent in the roof, used touchup paint on a bumper scratch, painted other parts of the panels and left bubbles/pitting in the paint(recurring issue), scrtatched interior plastic panels, scratched up the leatherseats and installed the wrong windshield. I sent it back and it took another couple of weeks to get it right. Later, my insurance resent the car for repairs of a small bumper dent and once again I see bubbles in the paint. When I check the paperwork, sure enough it was Tan's again(I told them no Tan's but they did it anyways). In short, make sure you know who the repair shop will be when using insurance and make sure they do not use Tan's. read more

Tan Auto Body is fantastic! They restored my Subaru in 2018 when a big tree limb damaged the roof. They did an excellent job and my car was as good as new! This was a big job and required a lot of work on my car. Recently (Sept 2021), my sun roof was leaking inside my car due to the vents getting clogged. I took my car back to Tan Auto Body thinking the leak must have something to do with the 2018 fix. Turns out due to normal wear and tear (and me not know any better) the sun roof vents can get clogged if we don't clean out the inside front of the sun roof. Tan blew out my vents and showed me how the water should run out of the vents and didn't charge me a dime! He also showed me how to clean the vents so it never happens again. Then, his team proceeded to wash my car inside and out for free!!! I am so thankful that there are still good people in the world like the folks at Tan Auto Body.
