I wanted to dance as an adolescent, but my feet refused, while my neck was far too excited about it. I've wanted to swim my whole life, but this body was not having it! Point is, I signed up for Beginner swim lessons with Robert with a desperate love for the water, along with a deep fear of it. Despite trying my whole life, I've never learned to swim nor float. I didn't think I could ever learn to float. Robert was highly recommended by a friend, so I took the chance. I floated on the first day and even moved around in the water a bit. By the end of the six sessions (well, five if you include the class I missed), I was stroking in the deep end. I wasn't swimming the distance of the pool (yet), but I was floating and stroking and most importantly, I was comfortable on the deep end. I'm taking Level One classes now and learning so much with each class. I'm still a slow learner when it comes to swimming, but I'm learning! Things are happening with my body! I'm in my mid-thirties and I really didn't think I'd be able to learn anything at this point. Here I am now HIGHLY recommending Robert's classes to any adult who thinks they can't learn to swim. Here you have an incredibly fun and energetic instructor with tons of patience. He will give you the personal attention you need and you will learn what you thought you couldn't. Not a single person in class, as far as I can tell, has been unable to learn something. Depending on the class, the venue will change. I've been getting my beginner swim lessons at St. Bart's. The website should have all the info.

I've now been swimming at The Swimstitute on Folsom Blvd. in Rancho Cordova for about seven years,…read moreand it continues to be an excellent facility for serious swimmers. This is a private, membership-based pool with an 8-lane, 25-meter setup. The water temperature and quality are consistently perfect, which makes every swim enjoyable. The facility is well-maintained and clean. The pool itself is spotless, the lockers were recently upgraded, and the shower area is always kept in great condition. It's clear that they prioritize upkeep, which I really appreciate. The staff here are always friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere. That said, this is very much a swimmer's pool--designed for lap swimming and training rather than recreational use or family playtime. While they do have some equipment available for use, most swimmers bring their own gear. One of my favorite aspects is how uncrowded it is when I go early in the morning. I usually get a lane to myself, which is such a luxury compared to other pools. The membership fees are very reasonable for what you get--especially considering the quality of the facilities and the experience. If you're looking for a pool geared toward training or serious lap swimming, I highly recommend The Swimstitute. It's not designed for wading or casual recreation, but if you're a swimmer, this place is perfect!

This place is convenient, but pricey…read more I've been on a health journey for a while, and had been going to 24 Hour Fitness for swimming. I had a not-so-great experience and decided to take my business to the Swimstitute instead. I started out with buy a block of swim passes, just to make sure I liked it. Due to my work schedule at the time, I'd end up going in the afternoons when all the kids had their swim classes. That wasn't ideal for me so when it came time to take the step to a monthly pass, I opted not to. The value just wasn't there and I felt like the pool wasn't maintained as well as 24 hour fitness'.
