They had water and a cookie tray out at check-in with the coffee makers out all day. The breakfast was also decent (standards like eggs, sausage, pancake maker, oatmeal, bagels, etc.) so you need not worry about spending money to go out for breakfast. Plenty of dinner options nearby in a short drive or walking distance. The price was also pretty reasonable and was centrally located to my needs. If I am back in the area, I would definitely return to this Holiday Inn.

She was wearing a pin that prompted me to ask. I had a King suite and the room was super clean and sizeable. Probably one of the cleanest hotels I've stayed in. Likely due to the friendliness and smiling face and attention to detail of Maria, one of their housekeeping associates. I had the free breakfast on my check out date this morning and it was a pretty nice selection of fresh menu items from bagels, toast, yogurts, milk, meats, eggs, hashbrowns, fresh fruit, oatmeal, juices and coffees. I requested late check out the morning of, just needed an extra half hour to finish up a meeting, and Caleb at the front desk did not hesitate to accommodate me. He was friendly, personable and engaging when I checked out and that goes a long way, especially since I also come from a customer-service industry. On another note, tons of restaurants and shopping in the area, and if you're coming from out of the area, this is only 30 minutes from Clearwater and local beaches and a short 45 from St Pete/Madeira/Johns Pass/Treasure Island. Go have dinner at Mystic Fish. AMAZING seafood. I will definitely stay here again, and this particular IHG hotel will be my #1 choice when I return to the area.

Small detail, but noticeable. The pillows were surprisingly comfortable as well, although the bed itself was a bit too firm for my liking. I did like the "home away from home" feel that Residence Inns usually provide, even though I've stayed at nicer Residence Inn properties before. Parking was convenient overall, but I could see it becoming tight on a busy weekend, possibly forcing guests to park across near the Courtyard. Not a huge issue, just something to note. The downsides were mainly the shower taking quite a while to get warm and the breakfast being very average and forgettable. Also, the staff didn't really make the stay feel memorable. As a Marriott elite member, it would've been nice to at least receive some acknowledgment or a warmer welcome during check-in. Not a bad stay by any means, but also not one that really stood out.

The small food mart was a bit lacking, and it's probably better to buy snacks elsewhere anyways. You can use the gym next door at the Courtyard since they are both Marriott properties, but the one on site was still a decent options. One day it was pretty warm, and we let the front desk agent know, but she didn't know how to fix it. The outdoor pool was open 9 am to 9 pm so just outside a window where we could use it. Overall, no major complaints. It was a comfortable stay.

I thought I booked the hotel for two nights instead of one. On what I thought was my second day, I…read morereceived a call from the Hotel asking me when I was planning on checking out because they needed to clean my room. I told them that I thought I had booked two nights. They said no and that I had to immediately return to the hotel and get my stuff. Mind you I was having lunch with clients at the time. I asked the hotel to just add a night to my stay but they said that they were sold out and they were getting $800 for rooms that night due to demand. So I dropped everything I was doing and got an Uber back to the hotel to throw all my stuff together and find another hotel. Something the HIlton Garden Inn Tampa Oldsmar could have done as aa courtesy. They could have recommended other Hilton properties in the area but they chose not to. So My customer called around and found the Hampton Inn in Dunedin had a room. It was $348. I was still charged a late fee of $200 for late checkout which was primarily due to trying to find another hotel and negotiate the late fee. The published late fee is $40 to $60 by the way but apparently individual properties can do whatever they want. I called corporate and they said yeah that is fine. Local properties can have whatever polices they want and their customers just have to deal with that. So lets review the charges. $221 for one night plus a $226 late fee plus UBER and leaving clients during a meeting, etc. After several calls that weren't returned by the property and several long painful calls to HIlton corporate nothing was done to honor the published late fees (because keep in mind the properties can do whatever they want and we should love that). I then paid $348 for the Hampton Inn in Dunedin because The Hilton Garden Inn had no rooms for me. But they did apparently get $800 for my room that I hastily exited in addition to my $447 dollars so $1227 total for one night. Great job by Lee the General Manager/ Operations Manager of pulling down some serious profit for the property. Stupid me spent $348 in Dunedin the next night. If you stay here or any Hilton property apparently, please print out the local properties policies and have your lawyer review them just in case you may accidentally violate one of them. Hilton thinks this is a reasonable request. I didn't stay here or use the spa, so I'm judging this strictly from walking through the property and taking in the atmosphere. The history is fascinating. The resort sits over the famous Espiritu Santo Springs, which were associated with the legend of Hernando de Soto searching for the Fountain of Youth in 1539. The property itself has been attracting visitors for more than a century and has evolved from a historic spring destination into a huge resort and spa. Walking around, you can absolutely feel that history. There are grand old spaces, beautiful grounds, waterfront views and that slightly mysterious feeling you get when a property has accumulated generations of stories. But here's my controversial take: I think the history is doing a LOT of the heavy lifting. From what I saw, this isn't the sleek, cutting edge luxury resort I was expecting from the name and reputation. It's an old Florida institution, and some of that age gives it character while some of it makes you wonder how much you're paying for the experience versus the actual luxury. Would I come back to explore the springs and the property? Absolutely. Would I book an expensive stay without seeing more first? Nope. I got my water, walked around, soaked up the history and left thinking, "Okay, I see what you are."

My husband and I went for a quick honeymoon getaway, just 2 nights of our Florida trip because our room was booked over the weekend. There was plenty of parking in front of the hotel which was perfect because we didn't need our car in Dunedin. Check-in was seamless and the communication with the front desk was excellent. We stayed in the Zen Suite which has a patio facing the street. There is a lovely wine bar with live music across the street. Both nights we sat outside and enjoyed the music but do visit Stirling Wine (I reviewed them as well, great crowd). The Zen Suite is so comfortable and thoughtfully decorated. Anything you need is already in the room including dishes, flatware, refrigerator, iron, blow dryer and robes. It was easy to relax. The king bed was very comfortable. We found everything in the room easy to operate - TV, AC, door locks. We also enjoyed the pool area. The pool wasn't heated so it was too cold for me but my husband enjoyed it. I relaxed on a lounge chair with an umbrella. We also took advantage of the breakfast promo with the red next door which was very convenient. Overall 10/10 doesn't cut it.
