There's so much to complain about with safeway. Unfortunately it's the closest grocery store to me and it's not worth driving to the a different store just to avoid safeway. It seems that employees are impossible to find here. It doesn't matter if I need help at the customer service desk, at the self checkout line, or at the bakery, there's never an employee to be found. Last time I went to the customer service desk, there were 3 of us waiting for an employee and no employee was around. The cashiers kept ignoring us like we were invisible, and finally after about 15 minutes someone showed up to help. Then I went to use the self checkout, and the system required an employee to enter a pin. Of course there was no employee anywhere. It wouldn't even let me cancel the transaction to start over on my own. So I packed all my items back in the cart, got back in line, checked out at a different register, and as I was walking out an employee finally showed up to fix the first register. Do these employees just go hide somewhere to avoid work? read more

My cousin was at the deli section just wanting to buy a large cup to dispense soda from machine. My cousin was greeted rudely by the deli-rep (she wasn't wearing her name tag) anyhow, my cousin says..hello there I just want to buy a large soda cup..my cousin asked her how she was doing?. Twice-NO RESPONSE from deli-rep. My cousin is only 15 and I told her..not to take heart that she was treated rudely!. Sad for Safeway..Customer Service is a big Fat Zero rate!. Safeway has really gone down hill with their deli. I went to get a sandwich and I swear the happy meal at the McDonald's next door was bigger. It was sad that they would service this garbage to anyone. The roll was as big as my hand the lettuce look like they got it from the trash and the person making the sandwich didn't care. Had food all over uniform and garbage all over the food. Trash was over flowed. Come on take pride in what you do and be mindful of what you are serving your customers. You look like garbage and you serve garbage then why even bother to ever go back. From now on I will just drive up the street to lucky. You guys suck. read more

This review is for the deli only. Sandwich are $7.00 - a bit pricey. And each time I've come here, the service is so slow. I don't think they train their deli staff for speed so don't come here if you're in a hurry. The sandwiches are good but as I said, too expensive. This is for the bakery. I called to order a cake. An army, camouflage cake for my 2nd LT daughter. They said I would have to speak with the manager as they didnt have one like that and it would be special order. They put me in touch with Katrina. I may have the name wrong but she was the manager. She was fantastic. I brought in some military toys from the dollar store and she worked wonders with them. She was soooo creative. The cake looked and tasted great. All our guests were asking where we got it. So thankful for the time and effort taken by her and her staff to make an amazing cake. read more

This store has a large selection of food items. You can go in and get everything food related off your list. The aisles are sufficiently wide enough to get down them as opposed to other stores like Walmart. I have had good customer service experiences from the produce and meat department staff. This store has not had its payment processing keypads upgraded to accept chip cards so payments are not nearly as secure. Pretty much all other major retailers have upgraded by now. I don't know what the holdup is especially since this is the closest store to the corporate headquarters. The Just4you program is great and this location has all its aisles mapped so you can know which aisle everything on your list is on. There are frequently groups of people dressed in business attire having meetings in the aisle. They are typically oblivious to being in the way of customers and are slow to move out of the way. read more

I really like this store because it is clean, always open when I need it to be and the selections are amazing for local produce. One star is taken off because they never, ever have enough cashiers at any time, morning, afternoon, evening or late, late evening. Another star is taken off because the prices of multiple items are inconsistent with the Safeway app. I was informed this is indeed an issue the store must correct. However, a nice store to frequent when you're in the area. read more

Phone customer service is terrible. Called to ask a question about my bill and ask for a price check and the person said she would check and put me on hold for 10 minutes never coming back I called again and got the same person and she said she had been helping another customer and put me on hold again claiming she would check. I am writing this review while on hold yet again!!!! Reading other reviews I guess I am not the only one that thinks the customer service here stinks!! read more

Whoever is managing this place is not doing a very good job. The deli manager is horrible at their job as well, whoever they are they can't keep stock of anything. The customer service of this Safeway has gone way down. I can't believe these are the same people that are protesting at the neighborhood Walmart down the way. They don't deserve to be protesting because they can't even do their own job. Try to avoid coming to the Safeway it is all smoke and mirrors. Really don't like the attitude of the lady behind te deli counter. It seemed as if she was annoyed that I didn't want the thick precut cold cuts. Thin sliced seemed to be a bit much for her to handle. read more

Juan the butcher was a miracle in disguise for me amidst my mayhem that day. He catered to my requests and provided help in a professional and courteous manner. I went in to the meat department with a particular idea in mind for hosting a large dinner party (~60 people) and Juan truly saved my day (and pocket) by making a suggestion. This place is just. . . .I can't even think of the words. Overpriced comes to mind. I went in for a few items, but the things I wanted were so overpriced and they were ringing up wrong. Small cream cheese $4.49, on sale. Frosted Flakes on sale $1.99 on the tag, rang up for $2.99. Got what I needed and went to the EXPRESS checkout counter. Waited and waited finally they got to the next customer and then there was a problem that the checker couldn't figure out, called for help, no help. I left that line and went down the isle looking for a decent line since they were all backed up. Finally, went to the self checkout. Frosted Flakes rang out wrong. Tortillas rang out wrong, Starbucks single serve cold drink rang out wrong. I get to the bananas and they ring in, but service is needed. Now I have to wait, no service, kept waiting. I tried to go on and it would not let me ring up anything else until the bananas went through. Whats the point of having a self check if you can't use it? Fruit has a number on it, why can't I just enter the number, put the fruit on the scale function and move on. Noooooo, not here. I finally got so frustrated I left and went to the Walmart Grocery store. Before I left I spoke to the person at the service desk who had no idea what was going on. I just shook my head and left. This place is over expensive and they have bad service. What more can you ask for? read more

For this year's Christmas dinner, I wanted a pre-brined Fosters Farm Turkey. I'd purchased them at another Safeway in past years, and always had great results. For some reason, they were harder to get this year. I called around and talked to multiple people at four of the Safeways in the area. No one seemed to be able to help or even knew how to order one of these, except AJ in the meat department at the Safeway on Dublin Blvd. AJ, thank you for saving our family's Christmas dinner! The store was very clean and very organized. Most everyone there was helpful except my cashier Rachel. She was obviously irritated that I got in her line before her break. When I shop I put all the food that I plan on purchasing into the bags that I use to carry out to my car. Apparently she had a problem with that. She was instantly irritated and asked me why would I put the food inside the bags and that I was required to take them out of the bags. I explained that's how I know when I'm done shopping, when my bags are full. And I've never had a clerk have a problem with. She then took the bags (3) that I placed on the conveyor belt with the food organized nice and neatly inside and dumped them out all over the place. She had a total disregard to the fact that I had chips and bread and other products that I did not want to get smashed inside. After she dumped the first bag I said "hey can you be careful I have some things in there that may get ruined" and she just kept dumping. Then I asked if she was having a bad day. She said Nope and then told the gentlemen getting into line that she was closed for break. Wow! She was the rudest clerk I've ever had at Safeway. Granted I usually shop at the Safeway on Tessajara but totally wrong for Safeway! If I wanted rude clerks I'd shop at Walmart. read more

The selection is good, store is clean, but the checkout lines ruin the entire experience. I've been there multiple times just stopping in for a handful of items and the express lane is never open. Three times I've been holding 4 items and stuck behind customers that had a full cart, it's so frustrating it makes me want to leave! They don't open new lanes and if you're buying alcohol then you can't go to self check-out so you're stuck. I've reduced my alcohol purchases here so that I can skip the long lines and go to self check-out. If they have multiple lanes open I don't understand why they can't make the express lane one of them. read more

This review is for Flowers only. Had last minute visit here to get flowers for high school graduation ceremony couple of weeks back. Lady at the counter was patient and made awesome bouquet from the flowers I handpicked. Did awesome wrapping and also kept flower food sachet hidden inside each bouquet. Safeway is Target's ugly step sister.. If you need to go grocery shopping, don't go here. The prices are too high. The customer service, as many others have mentioned, is the absolute worst. You are getting paid to treat people decent and with respect, it's not that hard!!!! I went at 9pm to help my boyfriend buy bandaids for his stitched up chin. This rude employee named Karen yelled at us, before we even got the aisle, to not mess up the items because someone just organized them. Okay I get it, it's a tough job but there are nicer ways to say things then yell at people that didn't do anything wrong. Safeway, please do better. read more

I came by last week on my way back home to Monterey and I stopped at the deli to get a sandwich. Well, obviously I grew up in the Bay Area and I hardly ever went to Dublin and I still hardly come to Dublin whenever I come back to visit my family in the Bay Area since they live in the east bay. I am giving it two stars because the sandwiches were so so. There was avocado spread on my sour dough roll and I ordered a ham sandwich and the meat tasted like turkey as it wasn't like the ham tasting I get at the Safeway deli back home in Monterey. Also the staff weren't friendly and didn't understand English very well so I had to repeat my order many times and the lady who told me where the line was and she had an attitude with me and made me feel stupid as I didn't know since the line was as there was a couple standing before me and no other people. Well, the delis back home in Monterey have friendlier staff and better sandwich meat. read more

I went to Safeway today for lunch and went to the deli to have a turkey and bacon avocado sandwich made. The lady that was making my sandwich seem to not hear anything I was asking her, and it was just as simple as toasting the bread I wanted on my sandwich. she finally took everything off the bread and toasted it but when it was done just started assembling my sandwich without asking me what I wanted on it. She then proceeded to get mad at me for her not doing her customer service duty and making me a custom deli sandwich like we all come in there to buy at that counter. she's been remade my sandwich and try to classify it as a hot sandwich which is not only more expensive but it is also not payable with an EBT card, it would not change it to a cold sandwich like I get everywhere else because the sandwiches itself is cold, with toasted bread. i refused to argue with a customer service rep so i left and went to another safeway with my business where i was taken better care of read more

I have been using safeway.com on and off for 3 years. Yesterday was my LAST delivery. My estimated order total on line was $166 and some change. When the driver showed up with my food my receipt was for a little under $173 but missing a $10 piece of meat that was out of stock. Hmmmm this is not the first time I have noticed a difference but this time I decided to go line by line. I was over charged on several items by as much as $4.00. Now the total over charge was about $22.00. Not a lot of money you say, no it's not but if this has happened on every order well... I e-mailed their customer service and received a quick response. That was the only positive thing about it. Safeway indicates that the prices changed over night and things went off sale. OK B.S... this has happened to me before on line - I click my delivery date and I get a warning that some of my items will no longer be on sale and I have the option of removing them from my cart. This NEVER happened on this order. After a few emails back and forth I got nowhere. Basically blaming me for not checking the end dates on the promotions. I will return all the items to the store tonight, I will never use them again and I will write this review warning others. All behind Safeway not wanting to give up $22.00 in a refund.
