My to go grocery store in the area. They have all your basic necessities, and it's nicely organized. You can download the "Safeway For you" app on your phone and get coupons tailored to your shopping trends. It always helps you save a few bucks! My main complaint however, is the service. So disappointed in this store lately, i feel like i have thrown so much money away. With the expired foods still on the shelves and the Milk that expires way before the due date. Last night was the final straw. My husband bought some salad shrimp there, and got home to make a salad with it and opened the package to find out it was bad. Oh my God it smelled up the house awful and was all slimmy. Just gross. Its just sad that this is our local grocery store and they seem not to care for the customers. I have called and complained but that doesn't seem to go anywhere. I used to love Safeway. It has changed since i have moved here 11 years ago. Need to find a new Grocery store to shop at. read more

If I could give them a negative # I would. Safeway has really turned into a horrible money hungry poor service store. I haven't been here in about 6+ months and sorry to say NOTHING HAS CHANGED! Still only 2 cashiers and each has at least 5 waiting in line, I know it's not the cashiers fault but management needs to do a better job of staffing or put in automated self serve cashiers. They've already gotten rid of people so might as well put in the self serve machines!! It took me 27 MINUTES to pay for 4 items!! Needless to say Safeway has been added to my NO SHOPPING here list!! This is one of my usual Safeway's to hit. Tucked in a shopping complex/center, it has everything I need. Walking into this place, you either get the waft of delicious food being made at the deli. ( Try their breakfast burritos with chipotle sauce, SO GOOD) or the other entrance you will get a wonderful waft of flowers! The produce area has been recently redone and is more organized and clean. Prices vary but regardless it is a Safeway and the cost of produce is cheaper at other places. They do have a great bread selection and I do enjoy seeing what interesting creations they come up with. Tres leche cake in the small container wasn't very appealing but their Smore's muffins were AMAZING. Another favorite I had was their strawberry lemon cake....can u tell I love desserts? Also try their donut/waffle creation. Super sugary but when I took them home and heated them slightly....it was oozy goozy goodness! Employees are usually very nice and polite. Only negative side is that they always have long lines. They need more cashiers!! Or install self check outs. Hopefully in the future! Also keep the desserts coming!! Lol read more

One of my favorite places to stop on the way to work in the morning that is open and offers me more than fast food. I really only have one gripe and that is that when I come around 7-8am they are usually stocking the shelves and seem to think its OK to keep the boxes on all sides of the aisles. Literally its like walking through a corn maze, and don't have a push cart with you, OMG you will be running over boxes left and right. Best part about being there shortly after opening hour is I get the first pick of the litter, but that could also mean I get the leftovers that nobody would buy earlier. Usually don't have to wait long to pay either but there is always that rare occasion where there are 6 of us waiting patiently before one of us explodes for having to wait so long when we are clearly all on our way to work. Of course they have everything you need. Meats, Cheeses, produce, anything you can think of. read more

Lines are always long. I usually get prepackaged salads for my lunch and consistently 75% of the salads on display are already expired. Protein packs in the cheese section are always empty no matter what time of the day it is. The customer service is really good which is why I added a 2nd star, but for what Safeway charges your better off going somewhere else. read more

This Safeway is usually very clean, and very well organized. I usually go straight to the dessert area or to the sandwich/salad section near the deli. It has a convenient location in the shopping plaza around the corner from my job, and I'd love to come here on my lunch break when I don't want fast food... BUT THE LINES ARE HORRENDOUS! Every time I come in here, no matter what time of day, the lines are long. They never seem to have more than 2 or 3 check stands open at any given time. Not only are the lines long but the cashiers are slow. On one occasion I went to this location and waited about 6 or 7 minutes behind ONE person because the cashier was blabbing about a vacation she took. Now, I understand the concept of great customer service and being friendly, but when you have a line of agitated customers waiting, you should probably cut the chit chat. This is not just a problem on certain days or at certain times. I've come here in the mornings (around 10 am), during lunch hours (around 1pm), and after work (9pm) and the lines are ALWAYS long. Even the express check out is slow. Safeway please do better. read more

I work in the same plaza and come here almost daily, maybe about 1 or 2 times a day and I've never seen 3 or more lines open at once-- not even exaggerating. I've been here a couple of times and it's a pretty decent grocery store. There's plenty of parking and is open late (till 11 pm on most days). The place is also pretty clean and the customer service is friendly and great (when you can find someone to help you). They have all the essentials of a grocery store: bakery, meat department, fruits & veggies, snacks, etc. You can buy cigarettes and lotto near the checkout area. Also, there's a bank near the right-side entrance. If you like Redbox, they have two kiosks and most of the good movies are here (last time I checked). My only real complaint is the lack of service. Most times, I've had trouble finding someone to ask where something is at. Also, there never seems to be enough help at the checkout department. I always just see about 3 registers being used even when it's really busy which results in LONG lines! I usually go to the express line because I don't buy plenty of stuff. Even the express line is pretty long and I've waited for quite awhile. Kinda annoying. Minor gripes aside, this is my go-to Safeway because it's local, clean and open late. I've never had any big problems here and it does the job for me. read more

Every single time I come here, without exception, there is at least one less checker than there should be. I understand this is a business and you need to save money where you can, but C'mon now. The staff is usually friendly, which is surprising because they are overworked. The restroom is never better than just acceptable condi. I also can't tell you have many times I have gone in for fresh oysters and they hardly ever have them anymore. I keep getting told they will keep some in stock but it never happens. read more

Good enough for grocery shopping and other services. They are open 24 hours. I like that and appreciate hard-working employees' efforts to keep it open 24 hours. The benefits when speaking to one employee (not with this store) are crap so it's understandable if they are demoralized. The district manager really needs to do a better job with keeping employees motivated and staffing. I've been a resident of the Bay Area and surrounding areas for over 20 years and have been to many Safeways which are always ran top notch but this locstion is the worst!!! I thought it was just me but when I started comparing experiences with my new co-workers that I have been working with for a few months now, they all say the same thing- just about everyone who works there is so rude they are always annoyed when one who tries to get help or just checking out. The deli is never ready and prepared in the morning is always running behind. This is definitely a reflection of this location's lack of good management and the higher-ups definitely need to come in and shake this place up because this is definitely not representative of what Safeway's are normally like. read more

Safeway in Green Valley has got to be the worst Safeway I've ever been to!!! Aside from the long lines...ALWAYS...the deli employees are horrible! They don't know how to read the scale, they constantly close the deli early, they are often rude and tonight when I went there they couldn't cut meat because they were cleaning the meat cutter. So after waiting in line for ten minutes I was told that it would take 15 minutes to clean it but that would be after the people in line behind me were helped. It's sad that although it's close to my home and should be the store we want to shop at I no longer want to deal with it. I will now be driving to The Nugget in Vacaville so that I can get great customer service in a store that cares about its customers. read more

This Safeway in Cordelia is the worst I've been. Staff are so rude and disrespectful. Make sure you check your receipt or when they are ringing up as sometimes they don't match what the price on the product. I was overcharged $9.00 and it's not worth it to come back to those rude staff. read more

I always come in to buy my daughter fruits & veggies lately it hasn't been very full but today was horrible I came in at 2-3 & mostly all the fruit was gone and I had to travel all the way to the other Safeway just to get fruit. Not sure what they've been doing differently but they've been letting me down. The veggie wall was mostly out of date & sloppy. I've been shopping here for 10 years+ and its never looked worse. I was shopping today at this Safeway location which I have for 17 years...I went to take the groceries to my car and went to get my keys out and I noticed that the key part of my automatic key holder was missing...I could open my car but there was no key...I went back in the store went down every isle and could not find it...I went to back outside to see if it fell out by my car and I ran into Ann who is so sweet who is Safeway employee I talk to her all the time was telling her what happened and this nice young man who also works for Safeway came up to us, his name is Wes I asked him if he could see if someone turned in my key, he went and checked and low and behold someone turned it in. Wes saved me a lot of time and expense by checking to see if it had been turned in.Thank you bunches Wes. You are very professional and a team player. read more

I come here frequently since I live in the area but I have to say I'm unimpressed! The lines are always ridiculously long, produce is always ran through and the staff is hit or miss. Lisa is fantastic! I needed 11 balloons and she stayed over 30 minutes past the end of her shift to make a very pretty tiered arrangement with detailed ribbons. She was very sweet and friendly and didn't rush any of the process. This Safeways SUCKS! #1 - Lines are always insanely long, why not open another register... there's 15 staff members standing around shooting the shit. #2 - They don't have all the products a normal Safeway carries, hence why I call it Safeway Lite. #3 - Their meat & produce is NEVER super fresh... I mean I understand sometimes but NEVER have I been like WOW what a good lookin' bell pepper or WOW nice chicken thigh. #4 - There's always someone outside soliciting you to buy something. I would REALLY like to just run in and grab my one item and wait 45 minutes in line without being accosted on my way in and out to buy something else. I'm here to share my horrible bakery experience. I ordered two dozen cupcakes for my daughters birthday on September 22 for her party on September 28. I wanted 12 chocolate, 12 white. Frosted with red buttercream. The theme of the party was ladybugs. I called ahead of time and asked if they had black decorative pearls to add to the top to make them look like ladybugs. The woman on the phone said they did not have black pearls, but I brought them in, they would be happy to add them. I came in on that Sunday (9/22) to place the order. The young man working behind the counter came over to help me after he wiped his nose on the inside of his shirt . He wrote down some things on the paper that didn't make sense, so he handed it to me to fill out. I gave him the order form and black candy pearls. Monday morning I received a call from a woman at the bakery. She wanted me to explain my order, which I did. She also gave me her phone number so that I could text a picture of what I wanted. I explained to her that if they cannot add the pearls, I would pick them up and add them myself. She text back a little while later and said she couldn't add the pearls. I said okay, and I would pick them up. I called later in the week to verify that they were still making the cupcakes, she told me yes and she also told me they could add the pearls (not sure of names, but this woman was a different person than I spoke to before). My husband picked up the cupcakes Saturday (9/28), a couple hours before the party. When I saw them, I was immediately upset. It looked as though someone took the pearls and literally threw them on top of the cupcakes. I took them back to Safeway and requested to speak to a manager. The manager came over and gave me a half-assed apology. I asked if there was someone who could re-frost them and he told me no. He basically told me my only option was to get a refund. He didn't seem to care about not awful they looked and there were other people there complaining about their bakery issues as well. My advice is to stay away from this bakery and go somewhere else. Safeway isnt really known for its GRAND CUSTOMER SERVICE, this I know, so I know but the people at the deli have got to do BETTER! I love buying their chicken strips, but half of the time they are so damn old, sitting out for hours once you bite into it, its totally cold n crunchy almost not edible. Not to mention you have to stand there mugging the deli people behind the counter for them to even acknowledge you. its like as soon they see you coming up to the counter then run n hide in the backroom to wait for the next person to serve you. The cashiers years are not friendly, they rarely great you and they NEVER EVER tell you your total. I end up having to look at the screen or just ASK THEM, how much is it? I don't know what has happened to this store...I used to really like it but in the last six months or so it has gone way down! The parking lot is always a mess with trash everywhere, they never seem to empty the trash cans until they're spilling over. The carts are always full of trash too. It's always understaffed. There are a couple of nice cashiers still there but most act like it's the last place on the planet they want to be. They don't even acknowledge your existence until they bark the total at you. If you bring your own bags they wait for you to bag everything yourself. If they do bag anything, it's without any care. I was there yesterday and the rude cashier put my bread and bananas on the bottom then got a total attitude when I asked her to remove them. I live closer to Raleys but used to travel a little further to Safeway because I liked it better but not anymore. The manager needs to be fired. She obviously hates her job and is making everyone that works there as miserable as she is. Goodbye, Safeway, you lost a customer to Raleys...if anyone cares, which I doubt anyone will. read more
