I don't go to Safeway often and today I was reminded why. What a horrible first impression. The minute you come in the cart area is filthy dirty trash all over the floor the floor in desperate need of cleaning. I didn't even wanna walk on it to go grab a cart. What would be so hard in keeping that area clean it's a grocery store. It should all be clean . . . yuck. I'm glad another king Soopers is going up in the area. My daughter lives around the corner from here. It is an effortless stop. It is a bit on the pricey side: but I am from Cali, so many of the grocery items here in Colorado are pretty much way over the prices that we pay back home. I would say that Safeway is the version of an Albertson's. We are talking about a 2-3 dollar difference in many of the items. For instance, we pay around $4.99-6.99 per Lb. for roast beef, here is $10.99. But it is conveniently located for us, so it is the go-to store when we visit. I second the review that said Don't order Delivery from this Safeway. I live in Longmont, but my local stores apparently stopped offering delivery, because my order went to this store. They don't actually deliver, but contract with Door-dash for delivery service. According to the app, everything was on track with my order. It was packed and picked up in plenty of time. It even showed it on a map approaching my house, until... nothing. It just went silent and my delivery window closed with no groceries delivered. Apparently, the driver, Julissa T, decided she would just take my groceries home for herself since she never reported a problem. I was given the option of trying again for delivery the next day, or a refund. I didn't trust them by then, so I opted for a refund and ordered from a different grocery store. That was over two weeks ago and though I keep contacting them about my refund, so far they still have my money. They said I must wait for 10 business days, which is outrageous. I knew there was a problem after a few days, because there's no way it should take that long in the 21st century. It doesn't make any sense Of course, I was right and the 10 business days have passed and I'm still out over $150, which I really need because it's time to buy groceries again. read more

I'm sorry to say some of the employees are really rude here, particularly two older female head clerks who have an attitude as if they are above you. One of them who is particularly bad is a head clerk named Pam who doesn't say hi or thank you, acts like she is your boss and won't even hand you your change or receipt and will accuse you and yell at you with no proof that you're stealing from them even if you have a receipt and if you dare to ask her why she's being so rude to you, she said it was her job that she yells at me and Demands a receipt it's not my fault that they don't provide plastic bags any more she'll tell you to go somewhere else if you don't like it. It is clear that she discriminates against some customers based on their looks. Hopefully this bitter woman will retire soon, so we don't have to put up with her rude behavior any longer. The type of employee that's been there so long, they're not going to fire her for her rude behavior, and she knows that she's not the only one with this attitude here, but she's definitely the worst. My opinion, probably bad management here, that lets them get away with murder. Believe me if I had the option of going somewhere else I would, but I'm disabled and don't have a car, and it's the closest supermarket to me. PS it's not my fault, Pam, that you were too busy gossiping with two other employees rather than supervising self-checkout. Had you actually been aware of what was going on 10 ft to the side of you, you would have seen me paying, rather than jump to conclusions and yell at me and be irate towards me and automatically assume the worst. I have a feeling she doesn't like the fact that I have a backpack and discriminates against me because of that. But women walk in there every day with their gigantic purses and never get a second look, I guarantee it. Let's be clear, I have no problem with someone asking for a receipt to prove a purchase, but what I do have a problem with is an employee very rude and irate and belittling customers because of it and to kick it all off she didn't even bother really looking at my grocery cart after I showed her the receipt seems like maybe she just wanted to yell and argue with me and I didn't even get an apology after she confirmed that I wasn't trying to steal just an if you don't like my rude Behavior go somewhere else. read more

Do not order delivery from this store. Ten days ago, all of the frozen items I ordered were not delivered. DoorDash sent a photo of the items left on my porch, and it's apparent that a significant portion of the order is missing. It's pretty obvious that my frozen items were left on a van or in the cooler at the store. (This has happened to us before on more than one occasion.) Safeway customer service "cannot do anything" to help because the amount due is over $50 so the store must handle the refund. (HUH???) Corporate has supposedly contacted the store manager THREE times with no response (to either them or to me). The agent told me someone else had JUST called them with the exact same issue from this same store so it's not an isolated incident. I've filed a dispute with my bank to get this resolved. I'm done dealing with Safeway due to this gross incompetence and lack of concern. I'm pretty sure if I walked out of their store with $57 of merchandise they wouldn't be cool about it. First of all, I must apologize for having lived here almost 4 years before writing this review! Safeway as a job for my husband is what brought us here to CO, so always shopped here. Even though in CA I sometimes shopped Vons, mostly Ralphs. I have always liked this store. Close to home, earn gas points, gas station also right here. Store most always has what I need and their Signature brands taste as good if not better than national brands. Its nice knowing the employees who have always been very friendly and helpful. The meat dept. Is willing to grind beef for me, and package chicken breasts in the portions I need for the freezer. This is my hometown grocery store, one I will remain faithful too. read more

So it's almost 6pm on a Friday (Game 1 world series). The wing bar was basically empty, a few super dry looking wings in one of the trays that looks like it been there for hours. When I asked if they had more wings coming out I was told no. I asked if I could get some wings and was told no. OK, so I move on trying find something else for dinner since our kitchen is currently being redone I choose soup. I grab some soups and head to the bakery section to get bread. Well NO French, no Italian bread, no sourdough, NONE!! I ask the store worker (she is manager or assistant manager) who is in the area if there was more bread up at the front of the store. She looks at me and says no, there hasn't been a bread display up there in a very long time. So I ask is there more bread coming out, I was told no. The store worker then held up a take and bake bread and I said that would not work since I currently do not have a way to cook it. The woman then holds up a roll of some sort. I said no that one roll would not be work for a family of four. I then asked why it is that prior to 6pm on a Friday they are out of so much and not making or putting more out. At this the woman throws her arms up and starts yelling "I've had a day". I just walked away. I have shopped this store for almost 20 years. And I must say every time I go there I am less and less pleased and find they are constantly out of so much. Prior to this trip they were out of dog food. And every time the checker asks me if I found everything and point out what they are out of it goes in one ear and out the other. So I actually said that to the checker why are you even asking me if you don't care or aren't going to do anything about it. Historically, I've been a fan of King Soopers over Safeway, for a couple reasons. Since moving to Firestone, however, I've found that Safeway looks like the better option here because: -Firestone King Soopers is a little dingy (not dirty, just low lit and dingy) -It's almost ALWAYS packed I decided to check out this Safeway for just a few groceries on a Saturday morning. First of all, it has its own fuel center, which is great. I gassed up and didn't have to wait at all, something I can't say for King Soopers' fuel center. The store itself is pretty well laid out, and I think had some lay out features I haven't seen at other Safeway stores that just makes sense-like small fridges with items related to the section they're in, such as cream cheese near the bakery. Their bagels are soft and bready and delicious, and their donuts are also really good. There were plenty of options for Saturday at 9 AM. Overall, I was really pleased with this store and it will likely become my regular grocery store in the area. The only reason I have to ding a star, and this sounds silly, is because they don't have self check out lanes. With no disrespect to cashiers, when I'm in a hurry I like to breeze through self check out, so not having that option is kind of a bummer. Still a solid grocery store choice! read more

This review is directed at this time primarily toward the bakery. I sent my daughter for donuts Saturday morning. She brought back a dozen of what appeared to be fresh, well made baked goods. Then... you take a bite. What the heck are these things made of?! There was an overwhelming taste of chemicals, or plastic, or paint, or wax... clearly ingredients not meant to constitute a simple donut. I couldn't shake the waxy film in my mouth for about an hour after eating. Do yourself a favor and skip the bakery at Safeway. Five stars because of the staff, not the chain. Anyone with half a brain knows the prices are not the best, but they have one hell of a nice, friendly, helpful and honest staff at this location. Their bakery is light years above and WAY better than King Soopers, their local competitor if you are looking for bagels or doughnuts any day of the week. My dumb ass bought a few items today with a request for cash back at checkout using my debit card. I was so tired from work that I left with my groceries and completely missed that I did not get my $60 cash back...Turned my truck around about 20 minutes later to confront the cashier that forgot (as I did) to give me the cash I requested and paid for ($60) No problem! The guy that checked out my groceries actually remembered his mistake and mine and then handed me $60 without hesitation. ....Just the best service and integrity anyone could ask for at this grocery store. read more

Last weekend I ordered a cake for my brother in laws birthday and it was amazing! I ordered a double layer carrot cake with butter cream frosting with the captain America logo on it. Not only did it look great it was so so good. Everyone in the family loved it and they are picky desert people. Lacy is the one who baked and decorated the cake. Safeway bakery is fantastic. We pick up various baked goods on a regular basis. Evidence in my waistline. Anyway, I ordered cupcakes for my son's last baseball game which was canceled due to weather. I put them in the freezer, saving them for the playoff game. A friend said the icing would melt when I took them out. So I went to the bakery for advice. She told me how to thaw them slowly. She also offered to fix them free of charge of the color ran. Well...they thawed perfectly, boys won their 1st playoff game, and the cupcakes were a "hit". read more

Service at this store is always great. I like it better than King Soopers because it is not as crowded.

I love going to this store, Safeway's prices can be somewhat high and it is a smaller grocery store, but the people that work there are so incredibly nice I find myself going there for that reason, and its a genuine nice, not fake or forced, a total pleasure. read more

I just recently moved to the area and where I was before, it was routine for drug dealers to hang outside of the Safeway in Longmont and harass people at night. This store is so nice, and not only do I feel safe here walking to my car in the parking lot at night, but the employees seem so much friendlier and seem to like their jobs. I try to avoid this place. Mostly due to the fact that they never have enough clerks at the registers. Its not uncommon to see only 2 lanes open and 2 huge lines for these 2 lanes. Its also very small and does not have a good meat or produce dept, almost no organic produce. read more
