BAKERY REVIEW: This review is specifically for their bakery, but as a side note, this Safeway has deteriorated in recent years. There are some friendly workers here, but usually all lanes are closed except for the one by the liquor area. And you're expected to bag your own groceries. I digress... back to the bakery. In short: - bakery service - 0 stars - customer service - 4 stars - cake - 4 stars The details... I came here to order a birthday cake and there's no one at the bakery. I rang the bell for service, and waited over 20 minutes. Finally I track down a customer service person to take my order. I came back to pick up my cake and there's no one at the bakery. I rang the bell for service but only waited 5 minutes this time before looking for customer service. A nice guy came to help, but he doesn't work in the bakery, so he didn't know how to box up my cake or ring it up. He calls a manager over to finally box up the cake and ring it up. The cake itself turned out really good. Light sponge with fresh strawberries. A bit on the sweet side. The design turned out even better than the picture (see my pics). The writing was accurate, so no complaints here. I find out that the bakery is short staffed. They leave at 1pm, and they are trying to hire someone for the afternoon shift. I would order from them again, but will come before 1pm.

I love their floral department, they always have cute little items in the floral department, lots of varieties of flowers and plants to choose from. But what if don't like is that they separate their pharmacy from the other regular departments. So if I have to buy anything healthcare products or any OTC drugs, I have to wait in that long time that is usually manned by one person. It's very inconvenient to me. I wish they will consider consolidating all departments with one checkout.

Wow the service here is awful and the produce is rotten. Do not come here if you are in need of fresh produce as it is usually moldy, wilted or low quality. The black customer service woman is unfriendly and straight up rude. The white manager tomboy woman looks always pissed off and if you ask her for help then you're a nuisance. The black cashiers really don't care to help you at all. In general Safeway just sucks here so please go to a different grocery and spend your money at a place that deserves it.

Shopped your store in Fremont ca mission Blvd and this is what I got. I will never shop again there. No customer service either/checkers.

I'm not rushing back here for their premade food. I just feel I get cheaper and better quality at other markets. So it's hard to go here for it. The bulgogi kimchi fried rice was quite oily. A bit spicier than I want it to be but it's not burning hot which is liveable. The karaage was ok. Tartar sauce as a dip is a choice. The poke bowl felt like it could be better. The fish pieces were a bit haphazardly chopped. The seaweed was a bit slimy. But if you're needing to find snacks or frozen food or drinks, it's nice to have the option. nearby-ish. Also one of my bffs came here for a bunch of snacks and the associate there checking out her items noticed she was buying something that had a smaller amount where the larger amount item was on sale for the same price. I appreciate them looking out for you to get you a good deal! That's good service there. Everything is nicely laid out and clean so it's a lovely shopping experience but there is a slight smell of perhaps cleaning product which I guess is better than dirty smelling. Again not rushing back, but maybe I'd come back for the chips and such.

The next morning, I noticed that my total had not changed. And I was still being charged for the pizza even though it was unavailable, and I didn't pick it up. I had received no email or notice from the app saying they would refund the pizza. So I called at 5am the next morning and there was no manager on site until 7am. So I went down in person to inquire with a manager about how the refund process works on an online pickup order when an item can't be fulfilled. I talked to Dane and he referred me to Lorenzo, who was the online grocery pickup order lead. I was explaining to him how I didn't get any notice of a.Refund being sent at all and with any other place. When you do online pickups, and they can't fulfill part of your order, they automatically start a refund process or notify you. Apparently the safeway app does not. I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to be charged for it. I told him it sucks that I had to waste my gas and my time to come down here to find this out. And at this point lorenzo told me "well, you should have called". I said I did call at 5am and there was no manager here. And they told me nobody would be here until seven am. And at this point, his attitude changed, and Lorenzo started lecturing me on everything that I should have done that I already did, which is not how you handle talking to a customer. I have worked in customer service for twenty four years and if I talked to my customer like this, my boss would write me up and fire me within two minutes flat. He also told me "well, you should have called later." I told him well you know how long it took to get any department to answer the phone when I did call? About five minutes and calling back four times and talking to different departments. I did not appreciate his attitude and the gall to tell me and lecture me what I should be doing during my day. The proper response would have been "I Apologize. I'm sorry that the app didn't let you know, but yes, it will refund in a few days". But he had to be unprofessional and get an attitude and get in my business, which is not his job and not how he should be acting at his job with customers. A terrible employee that clearly needs retraining on how to interact with customers. I work 2 jobs and I work really hard.I do not need a Lead at Safeway telling me what to do in my life or how to do it. That's none of your business.

Raley's, a shrinking brand here in this part of the bay, still holds a large footprint in downtown Fremont. Benefiting from the big parking lot shared by many eateries, cafes, and specialty stores and entertainment, the grocery chain welcomes many to its storefront and keeps them coming back with their weekly deals. Some of the parking spots are tight but there are spaces all around the shopping center if you're willing to walk. But once you're settled, head on inside and be prepared to shop! Be sure to join their free membership to maximize savings (aside from their weekly deals, they have some specials on Mondays and during holidays). A jarring sight, however, is the security officer standing watch at the front entrance which makes you wonder if their presence is due to a necessity or simply a security protocol for deterring that necessity. From all the visits I've made, the security personnel are just as friendly as the store's staff who are frequently traversing through sections to restock, check inventory, and help customers. As you continue walking in, you'll pass the dining space and prepared food section where you'll find fried foods, stirfrys and soups sitting in warmers. Nearby food stations also host a good collection of more freshly prepared foods and a deli for sandwiches. The prices can be decent with their added discounts at times, but I've yet to be hungry enough to try. The biggest impression for me at this store is their dedicated produce section. Organics as well as fruits and vegetables of the season are in full display, vibrant in color and heaped in abundance. Some of their more perishable produce may be found in the chilled cases on the side. In addition, I'm a big fan of their seafood and meats section as the staff behind the counter are friendly and helpful. The selection can be minimal during peak times but the quality seems to be pretty good for the value. Their bread, cereal, and coffee sections are also well stocked and we've also been able to find some solid pumpernickel bread as well as Dutch crunch French bread. After perusing the store and piling your cart, you'll head to the registers, however in all my visits so far, we have been able to use the self checkout which, for the most part, has been a good experience. The staff float around and are helpful in the event that an item needs to be cancelled or a SKU needs to be looked up. A few areas of improvement would include their water fountains by the bathrooms which haven't worked in our visits and general bathroom upkeep. Overall, Raley's does a great job welcoming folks near and far to their well stocked store, serving fresh and on-sale items. The store is organized and frequently refreshed with new stock by their band of employees roaming the aisles with smiles. You'll also find that patrons here are quite friendly - almost a neighborly feel to it. If you're in the area and need a quick bite or a pantry run, Raley's has what you need and for a good price, too!
